Dear customer,
This error occurs with Reginal options set to German. Switch reginal options to English, US Locale and this error will not occur. If you need your locale to be set to German for your Java programs, you may set it in Project properties, Compiler, by choosing appropriate value for Character Encoding. This is how to work around the prolem. The problem itself appears to be a bug.

  • Not stable Run of the project in Jdev 9.0.3.2 (c embedded OC4J 9.0.4)

    Hello, All!
    I use JDeveloper 9.0.3.2 and embedded OC4J 9.0.4.
But frequently, at Run project, embedded OC4J (9.0.4) startup occurs to a mistake:

Repeating it a few times, it is possible in a result to receive required, i.e.

Whether somebody met something similar and how it to correct?
    Thanks

  • JDev 11g on Win7 x64

    Hi!
Yes, I know that JDev is not certified on Windows 7.
But I still would like to ask if anyone has noticed a similar issues with other Windows x64 editions (Vista, XP):
Occasionally, I'm getting IDE errors like:
Performing action Update Working Copy...[ from oracle.ide.navigator.ApplicationNavigatorWindow ]
    Invoking command: [ from oracle.ide.navigator.ApplicationNavigatorWindow ]
    Sep 22, 2009 9:02:58 AM oracle.jdeveloper.model.JavaClassNode getDecompiledClass

...Looks like JDev have problems with 8.3 path composition. On 32-bit Windows the c:/progra~1/ point to c:/program files/ where 32-bit JDK resides. But on x64 Windows versions, the 32-but programs are located in c:/program files (x86)/ and the 8.3 path is c:/progra~2/ (notice ~2 instead ~1). So, looks like JDev has soem paths hardcoded incorrectly for working on x64 platforms (with 32-bit JDK). If 64-bit JDK is used, it would work (as 64-bit apps are stored in c:/progra~1/ on 64-bit OS) but JDev don't like 64-bit JDK (didn't tried with latest update, though)...
This looks like bug to me.
Does anyone have a solution for this? I searched .conf files for this hardcoded path to change it, but didn't find (don't want to mess inside jars).
    Regards,
    Pavle

This comes from a previous thread - see Upgrading to JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 Tell us you're experience.
On a 4GB RAM Mac OS X, you could minimise (performance / hanging) problems with a config such as the following:
    set AddVMOptions:
    Xms1536M and Xmx1536M in .../jdeveloper/ide/bin/ide.conf
    and
    -XX:MaxPermSize=512M in .../jdeveloper/jdev/bin/jdev.conf
Customise VMOptions to suit your particular env.
This config handles the running of the Integrated WLS Server plus a deployment inside.
A precaution: Before exiting JDev - it's recommended to gracefully :-) terminate the Integrated WLS Server and the deployment - otherwise you may just break your JDev, with sometimes 'unstartable' consequences :-)
If you can't start JDev normally - for a reason, perhaps due to the Integrated WLS Server (weblogic.Server) and deployment still running in memory after a JDev accident :-),
then you may be forced to do a cmdline unix, ps -ef | grep java - identify the runaway WLS process_ids, then do a (sudo) kill -9 process_ids - don't do this at home :-)
    - in some instances this could again lead to 'unstartable' consequences :-)
Then the other option is to fix JDev in the filesystem. Disabling some extension / plugins could also assist.
A first line-of-defence: backup a working version of your Jdev install dir with it's working extension / plugins.
/* JDevelopers of the world unite - Java processes don't run away parentlessly :-) */

  • Create deployment profile on JDev 9.0.3.2 build 1145 doesn't

Don't ask, I need to use this version for an old 9iAS portlet project.
Running JDeveloper on SuSE 9.2 Pro Linux I can compile fine, but attempting to create a deployment profile (r click on project->new->deployment profiles->jar file, simple archive) creates a dialog asking for path and deployment file name.
Clicking OK in this dialog creates nothing, nada. Any other kind of jar file: nada, nothing.
I CAN create an Ant build file.
My privileges are these for jdevhome:
    drwxr-xr-x 3 me users 4096 2005-04-07 09:52 jdev9032home
This is also in my own /home/me directory.

    Question for extra credit:
Using JDeveloper 10G, is there a way to create portlets that can be deployed in 9iAS? From our experience, the generated provider does not work. We can deploy the portlet, but not use 9iAS portal to create the link to the provider.

  • Please help - We can't get JDEV 9.0.3.1035 to work for us

Hi, we installed and configured JDEV 9.0.3.1035 and are experiencing this persistent problem, whenever we try to run our app the second or any subsequent time:

Embedded OC4J startup time: 120156 ms.
This is happening since we switched from JDEV 9.0.2 which always started up cleanly. It appears that the port is not being released on OC4J server termination. We are not running any other web servers and verified that there are no open ports with netstat -a.

Hi Raghu, thank you for your response and help.

  • Problems debugging PL/SQL [JDev 9.0.3.1035 Prod]

When debugging a PL/SQL procedure/function JDev creates a temporary procedure, usually called JDEV_TMP_PROC_n. From time to time it happens, that this procedure remains in the database after termination. In this case, it can not be dropped neither with JDev nor with SQL*Plus. Any ideas?

Assuming the Debug session runs to completion or successfully "terminates" the temporary procedure should be dropped. If the client is abnormally terminated (for example, killing the client from the task manager), the temporary procedure may remain until the database discovers that the client is no longer connected and cleans up its session. Once that happens, the locks on the procedure should be removed, and you should be able to drop the procedure.
Is your debugging session not running to completion for some reason?

  • JDev EJB Tutorial problem

    JDev v.9.0.3.2(build 1145)
Using the built-in help facility instructions on the EJB Tutorial, I am stuck on Part 5; Step 1.
    (Copied directly from tutorial)
    *****begin tutorial instructions*******
Step 1: Adding a Create Method to the Entity Bean
The first step is to add a new create() method on the Dept entity bean.
To add a new create() method: In the Navigator, double-click Dept to open the EJB Module Editor.
Expand the node for Dept and click the Methods node.
In the Method Category list, choose Create methods.
    Click Add.
In the Method Details dialog box, in the Parameters field, type the following:Long deptno, String dname, Long manager, Long location Click OK to close the dialog.
Your new create() method appears in the list of methods. Click OK to close the EJB Module Editor.
To add code to the Dept entity bean: In the Navigator, expand the node for the Dept bean and double-click DeptBean.java.
In the Structure pane, double-click ejbCreate(long, String, long, long) to jump to that method in the code.
Replace the stub method with the following code:
public DeptPK ejbCreate(Long deptno, String dname, Long manager, Long location)
    this.setDepartment_id(deptno);
    this.setDepartment_name(dname);
    this.setManager_id(manager);
    this.setLocation_id(location);
    return new DeptPK(deptno);
In the Navigator, right click DeptBean.java and choose Make DeptBean.java to make sure it compiles without errors.
    *****end of tutorial instrucions*********
I cannot get the 'hrApp' EJB to compile.
    The compiler complaint:
Error(18,10): class DeptPK not found in class hr.impl.DeptBean
Error(24,16): class DeptPK not found in class hr.impl.DeptBean
    Any recommendations are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Robert Stuart

Mistake: misnamed the bean in problem statement.
I meant to say the 'DeptBean' (not hrApp EJB) did not compile, using sample code from instructions.
    Surely someone can help.

  • Jdev 10.1.3 Database connectivity issue

I have migrated form Jdev 10.1.2 to Jdev 10.1.3.1.and have configured my database setting i.e URL,USER NAME,Password etc in Embedded OC4J sever preferences.
When I run my application through run button on the menu bar it get connected to the database and application get start properly.but after 10 ro 15 min ,its automatically hitting the database with wrong id or password and my database get locked due to too many wrong hits.It continues hitting the database server with wrong id and password even i terminate the OC4J server forcefully. In order to get the hits block I have to close the Jdev IDE.
I have checked all the connection settings, user id and password.

This is a WSDL file from a Web Service provider which we will have to uses as it is.
Suprisingle the same WSDL file works just fine in Jdev 10.1.2. But Jdev 10.1.2 does not create all the .java files specified by WSDL.
Jdev 10.1.3 creates all the files but does not work.

We are now unable to continue running/testing/developing our project. We do not want to have to manually change the port number each time we run it. This problem occurs both in Win 2000 PRO and Win XP Pro. We have tried every combination of OC4J server host names, HTTP Server ports and Web Browser proxy settings.
A similar problem was fixed in Rel 9.0.2 by changing the Host Name of the embedded OC4J server to localhost from the IP address.
Would appreciate some help because we would like to take advantage of the new features in your product.

I tried to use the "Edit Struts Page Flow" option for an existing project in JDev 10g.

  • Run of "check for updates" causes JDev 10.1.3 startup failure

Hello - I just ran a check for updates, saw that I was behind on a few, and installed the updates. Then I shut JDev down and tried to restart. The startup screen will show for a few seconds and then just disappear, and JDev will never run. I have tried rebooting my machine -- didn't help.
    Any suggestions?
    thanks, Keith

  • How do I terminate an iTunes Store account?

Is there no way to terminate an account?
Since credit card infomration is mandatory there really should be a way to terminate an account.

Accounts cannot be terminated. They need to remain active so purchased songs can be re-authorized in the future.
If you are concerned about your credit card information being kept, you can log into your account and either remove the credit card information or change it to bogus values.

  • Error while opening BC4J objects in Jdev 10G

I downloaded the jdev 10.1.3.3 version , copied the entire JAVA_TOP files to myclasses on my local machine. In the project content property i gave the path to myprojects.
In the include section i included only oracle\apps\ego since these are the only files i need to modify.
Now when I right click on one of the EOs in jdev, i get an error message that there are java errors in the underlying EOImpl.java and the wizard will open read only.
I did not modify any files. These are all oracle shipped files. This happens with a few other objects. I am able to open some of the BC4J objects but some of them give me this error mesage.
When I build the project , i do not see any errors, I am even able to run a page.
What is wrong here. is it some missing library or do i need to include additional files/folders .. Please help
    thanks,

I deleted the class files from myprojects and tried opening the EO but that din't help. I created a new project after deleting all the class files, even now i get the same error.
I wonder if reinstalling jdev will solve the issue? I have only xml files in the myprojects folder but i keep getting the same message that there exist errors in the .java file under the myprojects folder.
I'm not sure what's going on. Is there some cache that jdev is looking at.

  • Error while running HRFacadeClient of JDev 11g Tutorial

    Hi,
I was following the tutorial under Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces
Section 19 says to run application under OC4J,
<strong>19.</strong> Right click the <strong>HRFacadeBean</strong> in the Application Navigator and select <strong>Run</strong> from the context menu to launch the facade bean in the Embedded OC4J sever.
Curently OC4J not available under JDev 11g Production version, so it runs under Web-logic Server which comes with JDeveloper 11g. Please see the log below:

    Regards,
    Santhosh

    Hi Heidi,
I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again
    Esfand
