Hi ,
I need to develop a page where in the errored records from some table will be displayed. This page will basically be used as Error UI for error handling and resolving those cases.This is basically for compensation data errors .. so the user should be able to process the errored records after seeing the error.
I am basically taking the approach of search page as there are different criteria the user shud be able to filter these records by ...
Now I need to have some search options in the search page ..have following requirements : Could anyone pls help m on these ..
1. want to create a dropdown/poplist for one of the items
2. there ll be a comments column in the results table which should be updatable by the user .. i shud be able to store that comments back in th table ..
Pls help on the same asap...

My recommendation would be as follows:
1. Using a PLSQL API, pass all the Error data into a Custom Table.
2. Use this custom table to fetch data on the page.
3. If you know the Error types, create a lookup type for the Error and create multiple lookup codes for each Error type. You can write a query for the poplist and have it in the Search criteria. No issues.
4. If there is some other table which needs to be updated, invoke the PLSQL API to do so on click of some button on the page.
Do let me know in case the suggestions dont help.

Does Firefox place links to search pages into email messages in Yahoo that are connected to particular highlighted words?

I have Yahoo mail. Recently, in my emails (sent and received), there are certain words that show up highlighted. When I put the cursor over the word, it links to a search page related to (or supposedly related to) the word. This happens for words in English and particularly for words in Spanish.
I want to know who is doing this and how they have access to my private emails to place the links!
I don't know if it is a Yahoo, Windows or Firefox problem.

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.
There have also been fonts with a Chinese name reported that identify themselves as Helvetica, so check that as well.
Use this test to see if the Helvetica font is causing it (Copy & Paste the code in the location bar and press Enter):

You should reset the network.http prefs that show user set on the about:config page. 
Not all websites support http pipelining and if they do not then you can have issues with images or other problems.

How to add a new search criteria in Advance Search Page in OAF

HI,
In my application (R12) we can access customer related information from 2 places (2 different responsibilities as mentioned below), both are OAF pages.
1. AX receivables
2. Sales online
From both the responsibilities we can perform search for customer related information as well (Simple as well as Advance Search).
But Advance Search screen from 'Sales online' allows user to perform search, based on few additional fields as well such as 'Classification' (it's an lov based field).
Now, User is asking to add that field on search page of AX receivables as well.
So, how to add one more field (as search criteria), on an standard 'Customer' screen?
Additional Info :
1. LOV is based on HzPuiClassificationFilterVO
2. And this VO is available on both pages. (oracle.apps.ar.hz.components.search.server.HzPuiClassificationFilterVO)
So can we achieve this by Personalization only ? if yes plz share the steps as well.

Yes. It is possible through personalization.
1. Create a criteria row under Advance Search
2. Create a Result Item under advance table columns
3. Create a Query Criteria Map based on the criteria and result item above.
Please note the newly added criteria field should be in the Searchresults VO attributes list.
Otherwise you need to extend the VO as well.

How to add Column field in the custom Query Link search page as a header

Hi,
I have created a Query page link in web layout editor. Now, I want to customise the view of the result. I see an option to change the "Text1" and "text2", but how do I add other fields as a colum in the search result ?
The only column I see by default Id, Title, release date and author. I want to see some of the custom metadata in the search result. I don't wan't to apply user specific custom search page.
Overall, I want a common search view across all the user such that each user doesn't have to create a custom search view.

By adding context node, you will not be able to fetch value. To fetch value in BTSubject, you need to have following nodes in your context node.
Node Relation Higher level node
BTAdminH
BTBOSSet BTHeaderBOSSet BTAdminH
BTSubjectSet BTSubjectSet_A BTBOSSet
BTSubject BTSubjectAll BTSubjectSet_A
Right now you dont have BTBOSSet and BTSubjectSet in your view. That is why component is unable to pull data in BTSubject.
My suggestion would be to create cuco with above nodes
Bind BTAdminH with BTAdminH of Component controller
and bind BTSubject of details view with BTSubject of your Cuco.
If you want code code gp catalog as it comes in complaint then there is seperate procedure for that.

When clicking for a new tab, I used to to see previuos tabs history. But now it goes to an "I=play, yahoo bing search page. How do I delete this page or go back to the history page

when I click "new tab" the new page would be the search abr along with the :most used list. But now the "new tab" opens in a "I-Play", yahoo-bing search page. How do I get rid of the yahoo page and get back to the most viewed page????

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

You can look at this extension to set which page to open in a new tab:

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for bing via the Filter at the top of the about:config page. 
You can reset all bing related prefs that appear bold (user set) via the right-click context menu to their default values.

Search Page by date field not showing up results

Hi,
I am using Jdev 11g and new to adf.
My applciation needs a search page based on a date field.
I created a viewcriteria for the object which expects a date field from the user.( the bind variable is of type Date)
After this i dragged the viewcriteria as af:query (panel with table) on the jspx page.
Now when i run the application, that is when i enter the date (calendar autogenerated by query component),
it does not show up any results.
My date field in the database has a timestamp attached to it, somewhere i read that the timestamp may be causing the problem.
But i have not found any solution for this one.
This looks very basic to me, i am sure i am missing soemthing important.
Besides i even tried the approach of programmaticlly populating the Viewobject(by not using the any query component),
i can see the Viewobject being populated in the logs( the row count) but on the display page, no rows are shown.
I am sure i am doing something wrong for this one.

Which never brings back any data. My date's look as follows in the database:

I never get any results for the date. I've also tried using the to_char to format the date as the same format, but that always gives a variety of errors. This is driving me batty =0 Any ideas on why it never pulls back data?

When Firefox is closed, all previous search page and home page settings are not saved. Must reset firefox and reset homepage url everytime.

All previous search engines on "Manage Search Engines" are gone and cant access the "get more search engines"...all grayed out.

Session Manager and Save session are the ad-ons which can solve your problem of saving previous search pages and url.

You need to be a bit more specific about your requirement and your environment. What kind of functionality does your search need? Are you using enterprise search or FAST?
1) Your sites should already include default search boxes at the top right corner. If you need a search web part, you will need to create a web part page and add the search box or advanced search box (need a search center for advanced) onto the web
part page. If you need to change the default search box layout on all pages, you can do that by editing the master pages.
2) Are you asking for a specific query to be included in every search? You can can add a default appendded query using the search box web part properties. If you want to just have certain keywords show up at the top, you
can set up Keyword Best Bets. For the filtering, you will need to use scopes. You can set the scope rules to include/exclude specific sites, folders, content sources or property queries. If you're using FAST, you will need to set the scopes
up in the FAST Query app, not the FAST content app.
You can create keyword best bets, scopes and change the search settings for the site collection by going to Root Site Settings > Site Collection Administration > Search Settings. Hope this helps. Again, we need more info to provide a more specific
solution.

When I try to open Firefox by clicking on the desktop icon, all I get is a Bing search page and no Firefox.

When I click on the Firefox desktop icon, I get a Bing search page. Nothing relating to Firefox is evident and the only way I can get out of the Bing search page is using Control/Alt/Delete. I can't access anything in Firefox at all.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Mail Keeps Sending Me To The Search Page

As the header says, everytime I try to access my MacMail, it keeps sending me to the Search Page. I have to go through the System Preferences to get my MacMail, Any Help Will Be Greatly Appreciated M.I.

Thanks for the Return, I have two e-mail accounts, one from the cable provider and one from my Apple Account. In the past I have always been able to go to my Apple (Mac) account and click on Mail. It then asks for my user ID and my password. Nothing has changed on my end that I am aware of, but now when I try to open my mail it sends me to some search page instead. Iexpenses search page - Expense report number li

The standard Iexpenses search page has the following layout in the PG xml file for expense report number.
Its a message styled text item - ReportNumberEnabled, which has no fireaction/firepartialaction against it, and a destination property is provided.
In the UI, it appears as a link and when user clicks on the link, it shows details related to the expense report.
I need to extend the page controller, handle the link click event in PFR and perform some validations.
Since the item is not a link and there is no action assigned to it, how do I handle the link click event.

OAF no api as such for this kind of customization. Rather try developing some web service or something similar which can be invoked from the custom link to do the job.

Export from OA search page

Hi,
I have a search page from which I want to export data to a CSV file.
1. I would like to have the flexibility to select the rows that I want to export (using a checkbox).
2. My application allows a user to configure 11 different kinds of models. The data required for all these models is different, so I have 11 tables to capture that information, and 1 table to store common information (such as contact details, delivery details etc.). These tables (model-specific and common) are linked by a PK-FK relation (config_id). My search page is built on 6 fields of the common table. But when I export the data for some selected configurations, I would like to capture data from the details table as well. I understand that I would need to create 11 VO’s and call them during the export process. But I am not very sure of this. Can anyone guide me through this?
