JDeveloper 1012 Corrupt ADF Project

I have just come across a strange problem in using Jdeveloper 1012 to create an ADF project.
The project is very simple at present, containing a class to represent a person (surname and age fields with appropriate getter and setter methods), a class to represent a collection of person objects, and a class to hold a single parameter (surname) that I pass into the refresh method of the collection which then loops through creating 10 appropriate person objects within the person collection as follows: e.g.
David 1
David 2
David 3
etc etc
I have acheived this by creating a data page that the user enters a <name> into, this is then forwarded to a data action which binds to the refresh method of the collection and then is forwarded onto the results page which shows the results.
The strange problem is that when I created this in version 1012 it worked fine, then when I closed the application down and restarted it the project no longer worked.
I have recreated the project several times and still encounter the same problem.
I have also recreated the project using version 9052 and the problem does not happen.
I am using the following versions of Jdeveloper:
1012 : 10.1.2.0.0 (Build 1811)
9052 : 9.0.5.2 (Build 1618)
I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this matter for me as from reading a number articles I am led to believe that I should be upgrading to 1012.
If you require a copy of the code that I have developed please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your help
David.

when I create the ADF project in 10.12 it works fine until you close JDeveloper down and then start it up again - the project then does not work. None of the files within the project have been modified outside of JDeveloper.
In the mean time I have reverted back to 9052.
Thanks
David

  • Configure JDeveloper ADF Project based on user properties

    I have my own project code tree and would like to create a JDeveloper Project based on that. Is there a way to instruct JDeveloper to read the source file locations from a properties file.
    For example, look into \trunk\jsp_src for all the jsf files ; look into \trunk\config\webWEB-INF for config files like faces-config.xml ...etc.
    Thanks
    Ramesh

    Hi Shay,
    I know we can do it this way.
    What I would like to find out is if there is a way to tell JDeveloper to read all the configuration information from a user-defined properties file.
    That way I can use my code tree checked out into any directory structure from source controls like CVS or Subversion as the code-base for my JDeveloper ADF project.
    Thanks

  • 1013 ADF project migration does not work

    I have previously developed a simple ADF application using Jdeveloper 1012 that contains the following components.
    1. a data page called start that contains a simple form where a user can input a name and a number
    2. this page then forwards onto a dataAction called doSomething that bings these values to a refresh method on a collection that I have written
    3. the refresh method then builds up the collection of test values, i.e. 1_David, 2_David, 3_David etc up to the number that the user entered on the form.
    4. I have used the invokeCustomMethod within the dataAction to manually force the itterator to refresh on the colleciton when the doSomething dataAction is called.
    5. this then forwards onto a dataPage called results that displays the contents of the populated collection as a read only table.
    please note that this colleciton is populated on-the-fly using a custom refreshMethod that I have written for the collection and does not retrieve data from a database.
    THIS WORKS FINE IN JDEVELOPER 1012.
    I have then tried to open this project in Jdeveloper1013. This wizard asks me if I would like to convert the project to the new format - to which I agree, but then when I try and run the program the application fails.
    I'd appreciate any help/suggestions that you may have as to why this happens.

    Hi Shay,
    I'm not getting any specific error messages when I do the conversion, the applicaiton just does not work anymore.
    As I have previously said the application I am trying to migrate from 1012 uses a collection that a dataAction populates when it is called using a refreshMethod that I have written.
    When I run the "converted" application in 1013 I don't get any errors at all but the applicaiton does not populate my collection any more. I think this may be down to the fact that I am manually resetting the itterator on the collection to -1 (therefore forcing it to be rebuilt when the dataAction is called). I have done this by using the invokeCustomMethod which is no longer supported in 1013.
    I am currently discussing this fact here:
    1013 - Force Collection To Refresh Different To 1012
    I'd appreciate any other ideas/suggestions that you may have as to why the migration process is not working correctly for ADF applications that have been developed in this manner, especially as I would like to convert a VERY large application that was developed in this way using JDeveloper 1012 into 1013 so that I can utilise the new enterprise manager within the OC4J 1013 server.

  • Lost ADF Projects when deploying BPM 11g project

    I've run this across a couple other people who are using Oracle BPM 11g. Both have run into the issue but aren't sure what they did to fix the issue.
    I've been able to successfully deploy the ADF projects in my project successfully until this afternoon. Now when I get into the second screen during deployment (the "Task Flow deployment" dialog) I do not see all my ADF projects (at first there were none and now I see two of the 5 ADF projects).
    Has anyone figured out which file is getting corrupted that is causing this problem? Guessing there's an XML file buried somewhere that I can somehow edit and fix.
    I'm guessing I can rebuild the UI projects and they will work, but concerned that they will suddenly disappear again.
    Thanks for any tips you might have.

    You can always deploy the ADF web apps from the Application (top menu) deploy option. Just make sure you're deploying the EAR profile for the project. Deploying the web projects from the composite deployment wizard can be convenient. But I think it's often the case that you deploy them (the composite and forms) separately (e.g. you make a series of changes to the composite without needed to redeploy the UI projects).
    Bottom line is you don't have to delete the projects to be able to modify/deploy them.

  • Unable to rund ADF project on jdevstudio10135 server weblogic server 9.2

    Dear All,
    I am extracted jdevstudion 10135 and installed weblogic server 9.2. In Jdeveloper i copied ADF Componenet liberyies and started exmple server. After i added my war file in install ->my path->.war file. And Active Changes selected. After In that selected and start . At that time i am getting java.lang.ClassNotFound.
    I need to run ADF component Proeject on above configurations.
    Any one help me how to do that .
    Waiting for your replies.

    Hi NL
    In JDeveloper, first you create Application and then Project(s) under this application. So what exactly are you selecting for Deploying. Do you select your Project and right click mouse and do Deploy. Or do you select the Application which shows right below Application Navigator Tab and use extreme right down Arrow and select Deploy. Select your project and do Deploy and see if that works. Do you have more than one project under this Application. Also note that you can create your own Deploy profile also, which you may not need though in your case for a straight forward BPEL proecss app.
    Thanks

  • Creating ear file from ADF project

    Hi All,
    I have an ADF project which can be built and deployed using jdeveloper. And I have few ant tasks which I can use to deploy not create. Now I want to create an ear file for this project , are there any ant tasks available, if not , what should be my approach ?
    -Thanks

    Hi,
    JDeveloper 10.1.3.x does not have Ant tasks that allows you deploy projects deployment configurations from a command line. This is planned for JDevelopepr 11

  • Unable to run ADF Project Using with Jdev 10 and Weblogic server 9.2

    Dear All,
    I am unable to run ADF Project on Weblogic Server 9.2. I am created Sample Project with ADF Control. This was when we create jsp at that time i am selected libraries ADF. After created war file. This war i am deploying into Server. At that time i am getting error java.lang.noclassfound error.
    so please tell me how we can run these application.
    Regards,
    Suresh.V

    Hard to help you here. JDev 10 used to work with OAS 10g as application server. This does not mean that you can't use Weblogic9.2, but because it is not the default configuration you may have some problems doing this.
    One problem is that you need to install the ADF runtime libraries in the WLS 9.2 server, but there is no installer I know of. You can try to deploy the needed libraries together with your app, but you have to figure out which libraries you need.
    Next thing is that you should deploy an EAR instead of a WAR.

  • How to move ADF HumanTask (ADF Project) from One BPM Application to ANother

    Good DAy!
    Problem
    We've created huge Project on ADF with difficult form and now we have to create the same (95%) form in another BPM Application
    Is it possible to migrate ADF Project from one BPM Application to Another???

    Hi,
    You can deploy the ADF Project as an ADF Library Jar file and reuse the taskflow from that jar file in another BPM Application.

  • Missing Outcomes for Human Task in Auto-Generated ADF Project

    Hi
    I am using SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.5) and have created a Human Task in my composite application and then auto-generated the appropriate task form using the wizard which has been successful and created the ADF project.
    My task has 3 outcomes the responses of which are then mapped out in the BPEL process.
    When the human task is raised it puts a notification in the BPM worklist as expected however the 'Actions' list on the notification is blank? I was expecting there to be 3 values in the Actions list one for each of my outcomes.
    I have tried re-building the ADF project from scratch from the task flow but still no joy.
    I have not changed the ADF project over its default.
    My next step is to look into the binding on the Actions picklist but I thought this was standard functionality and that the wizard handled this at the point of form generation.
    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

    Hi
    User error.
    I had sent the task to a group rather than a user. Before the task outcomes will display in the ADF page a user must first claim the notification using the 'Claim' button. On re-selecting the notification the task outcomes display as buttons.

  • Migration of ADF project from JDev 10.1.2.2 to JDev 10.1.3.1; Model cloning

    Is there a way to migrate an Oracle ADF project, specifically a Model using ADF Business Components from JDev 10.1.2.2.0 to JDev 10.1.3.1.0?
    Is there a way to create a clone of a Model using ADF Business Components from one application to be used in another application, w.o.w. to re-use a Model from one application in another application?
    Thank you in advance.

    For some reason my example code was erased from the message.
    I based my general method on following one:
    see:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/jcmultiform/index.html
    int count = 0;
    private DCBindingContainer createDetailBinding()
    String detailBCName = "DetailFormUIModel"+count;
    if (panelBinding.getBindingContext().get(detailBCName) == null)
    DCBindingContainerDef bcdef = DCBindingContainerDef.findDefObject("sample.DetailFormUIModel");
    DCBindingContainer bc = bcdef.createBindingContainer(panelBinding.getBindingContext());
    bc.setName(detailBCName);
    panelBinding.getBindingContext().put(detailBCName, bc);
    ++count; //make sure the next name is unused thus far.
    return bc;
    return null;
    My method:
    ========
    private DCBindingContainer createBindingContainer(String packageName, String panelModelName)
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(packageName);
    sb.append(ViewConstants.STRING_DOT);
    sb.append(panelModelName);
    DCBindingContainerDef bcdef = DCBindingContainerDef.findDefObject(sb.toString()); //NOTE THE NAME.
    if (bcdef == null)
    throw new JboException("System error, "+getClass().getName()+".createBindingContainer, DCBindingContainerDef: "+sb.toString()+" not found");
    DCBindingContainer bc = bcdef.createBindingContainer(panelBinding.getBindingContext());
    bc.setName(panelModelName);
    panelBinding.getBindingContext().put(panelModelName, bc);
    return bc;
    Any suggestion for replacing createBindingContainer with the 10.1.3 adequate method?
    Thanks

  • Best practices for large ADF projects?

    I've heard mention (for example, ADF Large Projects of documentation about dealing with large ADF projects. Where exactly is this documentation? I'm interested in questions like whether Fusion web applications can have more than one ViewController project (different names, of course), more than one Model project, the best way to break up applications for ease of maintenance, etc. Thanks.
    Mark

    I'd like to mention something:
    Better have unix machines for your development.
    Have at least 3 GB of RAM on windows machines.
    Create all your commonly used LOVs & VOs first.
    If you use web services extensively, create it as a seperate app.
    Make use of popups, it's very user friendly and fast too. You no need to deal with browser back button.
    If you want to use common page template, create it at the beginning. It's very difficult if you want to apply it later after you developed pages.
    Use declarative components for commonly used forms like address, etc.
    Search the forum, you will see couple of good util classes.
    When you check-in the code, watch out some of the files don't show up in JDev like connections.xml
    Make use of this forum, you will get answers immediately from great experts.

  • Technical documentation for ADF projects - how to and best practices

    Hi,
    I have a question how to create technical documentation for ADF project expecialy ADF BC and ADF Faces. Is there any tool or JDev plugin for that purpose? What informations should contains documentation for that project, any principles ?Has anybody any experienece. Are there something like documentation best practices for ADF projects? E.g. how to create documentation for bussiness components.
    Kuba

    I'm not sure there is "best practices" but some of the things that can help people understand are:
    An ADF BC diagram - this will describe all your ADF BC objects - just drag your components into a new empty diagram
    A JSF page flow - to show how pages are called.
    Java class diagram - for Java code that is not in the above two
    One more thing to consider - since ADF BC, JSF page flow and JSPX pages are all XML based - you could write XSL files that will actually transform them into any type of documentation you want.
