Web services with JDeveloper - serialization error
Dear all,
I have an issue with web services created with JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0.
Namely, this is what I do:
1. I've created some TopLink classes from tables; one of this classes is called Task (and it's located in a package called "integration")
2. I've created another class, called Integration, where I use these TopLink classes; in this new class I have a method called getTasksStatus, which returns an ArrayList containing Task objects
3. I've created a web service from this class (Integration) by right-clicking on the class name in Applications Navigator and choosing Create J2EE Web Service.
When I call the method getTasksStatus from the test web service (endpoint),
I get this error:
Oct 8, 2007 7:14:30 PM oracle.webservices.service
SEVERE: serialization error: no serializer is registered for (class integration.Task, null) serialization error: no serializer is registered for (class integration.Task, null)
When I call a method which returns a primitive type, everything is fine.
I understand the problem, but I don't know a solution yet. Could you please help ?
Thank you,
Best regards,
SorinOne solution to this problem is to make sure that the complex type you are using in yous service interface do implement the JAVA Bean as per the spec (at least Oracle's interpretation of it).
You need to have getter/setter for all members and you need to have an empty ctor() to create new instances of your objects. In some cases, the design time let you get by, but the runtime fails in the code generation.
In your case, the 'Task' class may have some issue.
Hope it helps,

Emctl and jdeveloper connection error
Hi all,
I have installed oracle database 11g 11.1.0.6 on a windows server 2003 machine, and then used patchset 11.1.0.7 to upgrade. After that, I am able to connect this database and the database instance using sqlplus.
However, when I tried to create a new connection using JDeveloper, I got the following error:
Test failed: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
When I tried with emctl.bat start dbconsole, I got error saying
"could not find appropriate listener for this database. configuring db control requires database to be registered with at least one listener"
Can anyone please help me with this strange issue?
Thank you so much! Happy New Year too.here is the output of set:

JDeveloper 11g Errors Editing BPEL Database Adapter
I am encountering problems editing Database Adapters in a BPEL based Service Composite Application in JDeveloper. Specifically,
* double-clicking an existing Database Adapter component to view/edit it generates an uncaught exception in the GUI
* clicking Next through the wizard proceeds to the next step but the view showing the
SQL select criteria and input parameters doesn't return the original values set when the
adapter was first created -- a second NPE is logged at that time
Here are the specifics of what's running:
* host for JDeveloper is a Windows7 Home Premium 64-bit (version 61. build 7601 SP 1) PC with 8GB RAM
* JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 (the SOA / WebCenter version)
* the c:\OracleMW directory has JDK 6.0.24 installed
* the Windows machine does have Java EE JDK 7 installed but JDeveloper uses the JDK inside c:\OracleMW
* while running, JDeveloper is using around 274M of memory
* database hosting the SOA meta data store and the desired DB of the adapter is 11g (11.2.0.1.0)
* database is up, reachable and healthy while attempting to edit the Adapter component
Here is the exact error encountered and the stack trace:
GUI popup = An unexpected error has occurred in JDeveloper. The program may be unstable, which could result in data loss. Decide how you want to proceed and click OK.

o.tip.tools.ide.adapters.designtime.adapter.xr.util.SQLRefresher.run(SQLRefresher.java:118)
j.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662)
If you click on ignore / continue and proceed through the steps of the Wizard, when the Define Selection Criteria step appears, the original criteria and input parameters defined when the adapter was first built are not displayed and the "Feedback - Log" tab in the log windows registers another entry of:
Previously reported error [NPE in o.tip.tools.ide.adapters.designtime.adapter.xr.util.SQLRefresher:118]
Also, if you go through the motions of adding a new parameter variable in the top section of the dialog, after clicking OK, the dialog DOES suddenly display the original variables defined as input parameters.
Thinking this is a symptom of JDeveloper trying to run in too little memory, I have attempted to increase the max memory setting of JDeveloper to 1024M by adding this line
AddVMOption -Xmx1024M
in
c:\OracleMW\JDeveloper\jdev\bin\jdev.conf
I've also tried adjusting that same setting in the config file for the IDE itself at
c:\OracleMW\JDeveloper\ide\bin\ide.conf
and get the same result. (Subsequent review of properties in About JDeveloper shows that JDeveloper uses the jdev.conf file, not the ide.conf file FWIW.) Memory really shouldn't be a problem because I'm still new to SOA style development and the "application" involved is a very simple "HelloSOA" type service that just sets a couple of BPEL variables, transforms some input variables into variables passed to this Database Adapter, does a few more Transform operations for the DB result values to the reply values and sends the reply.
However, one other sign that memory utilization could be contributing to this is that periodically, switching to the "Source" view of the composite.xml file or the BPEL process file will lock the GUI up for about 35 seconds with nothing happening. An obvious sign of garbage collection gettng triggered.
Any suggestions?Oracle has identified a fix added to newer versions of JDeveloper which corrected these NullPointerException errors encountered using the 11.1.1.5 version of JDeveloper. That fix had not be propagated back to the 11.1.1.5 version but subsequently HAS been ported back. The fix is associated with patch ID 12670305 which can be downloaded from http://support.oracle.com by searching for that bug ID then downloading the associated ZIP file. I've applied the patch to JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 running on Windows7, Vista 32-bit and LINUX 64-bit and it works like a champ on all three platforms.

I have no idea what i have to fix.
Is there any suggestion or i have to create a new Application in jdev by scrath.
Ciao PieroI had the same problem while trying to "Save to BPM MDS" from jDeveloper, while I tried to save the BPM project to a directory (in terms of BPM Composer) in the BPM MDS, where the original project I checked out still was located in. The (old) project in the BPM MDS was still locked by the user I used to save the newer BPM perject version to BPM MDS. On the otherhand, I worked fine after I changed the applications name. Not what versioning should be like, but at least a workaround.

JDeveloper Build Error with JDK1.3beta
Dear JDev Team,
I have a project that uses SQLJ and has been compiling fine with both JDK1.2.2 and 1.3beta. This morning it stopped working. There have been no great code changes. Once it fails using 1.3beta it will also fail using 1.2.2.
There error message in the window is as follows. Your help would be very much appreciated, as this project cannot be built.
Many thanks,
Richard

SQLJ is not supported with JDK1.2 in JDev 3.0:
(from the release notes)
Using SQLJ under JDK 1.2
The 8.1.5 SQLJ version distributed with this release of JDeveloper only supports JDK 1.1.X, it does not run under JDK 1.2. A future version of SQLJ will support JDK 1.2
Having said that it looks like you have it working anyway :-)
There have been no great code changes. Once >it fails using 1.3beta it will also fail >using 1.2.2.Try the following :
-Locate the output directory from Project|Project Properties
-Close JDeveloper
-Go to the output directory and delete all the classes and profiles related to your SQLJ project
-Restart JDev and recompile
Hope this helps.

Hello experts,
I have a custom component which allow a dynamic navigation in some
pages of the Portal. This same component works fine with another two
Enperprise Portal (Implementation-Version=6.2.0.39.200606211833 and JDK-Version=1.3.1) and any error appears. Now, I have a different portal
(NW04 SPS18 and JDK-Version=1.3) and I get errors when parsing the xml
files. I thought that error is due to the enconding of the file but I
checked and adapted all files enconding and the problem persists. Now,
I think that maybe the problem is due to the new version of JDK
because maybe this JDK version deals different the xml files and this
cause that the code we had for the other portals, now fails.
Any idea how can I resolve this problem?
Regards,
SoniaHi
You can upgrade your JDK use 1.4.2_06 or any higher version. There are many docs available for that.In case you face any prob feel free to ask

I'm getting the following error within JDeveloper with almost any action I perform(Ex. Opening Project Properties, Trying to expand the Wizard Menu, Opening a file, etc)...

I'm assuming a reinstall is going to be my best bet? Would this be a correct assumption?
What procedures should I follow to reinstall? (Uninstall then Install, Install over the top?)
Any Help would be greatly appreciated...

Launching JDeveloper 11g Error
Hi Everyone.
I am new to JDev. I have downloaded and installed JDeveloper 11g Basic Installation. Everything seemed to be good, but when i tried to launch JDev, It warned: "Unable to create instance of JVM at C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll". I tried to download and install bundle for Windows, but there was no change.
i need your all help, experts in JDeveloper.
Best Regards.
