Jdeveloper issue : How to override existing java library or specify exact version to use

Our application is built in Eclipse. We have latest libraries referenced from Eclipse. I am trying to get the application configured to Jdeveloper but am getting compilation errors because of the org.apache.commons.lang jar version mismatch.
When opening the project in Jdeveloper, the import classes are pointing to older version in Middleware11.1.2.1\modules\com.bea.core.apache.commons.lang_2.1.0.jar. I added commons-lang-2.6.jar to Project Properties Libraries & ClassPath. But still the StringUtils class is being referenced from the older location.
How can I force library usage preference to be from application libraries instead of the default modules folder.
I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 version.

Jdeveloper 11g: how to change the extension library Oracle JDBC

We use JDeveloper 11g for our desktop (swing) projects. When I debug the project in IDE, the classpath includes this jar: C:\Oracle\jdevstudio1117\oracle_common\modules\oracle.jdbc_11.1.1\ojdbc6dms.jar
The ojdbc6dms.jar is in Oracle JDBC extension library. We actually want to use ojdbc14dms.jar as our jdbc library jar. I exclude the ojdbc6dms.jar in the project classpath setting and add a user library for ojdbc14dms.jar. When I run the project, the IDE still use ojdbc6dms.jar in the classpath. I try to use "Manage Libraries" under "Tools" menu to change the jar file in Oracle JDBC extension library, but it cannot be changed.
Can I ask how to change ojdbc6dms.jar to ojdbc14dms.jar in Oracle JDBC? Or, how can I let the IDE not use ojdbc6dms.jar when I run the project? Thank you

Replace the ojdbc6dms.jar with ojdbc14dms.jar in C:\Oracle\jdevstudio1117\oracle_common\modules\oracle.jdbc_11.1.1
The ojdbc14dms.jar may be required to be renamed to ojdbc6dms.jar in the C:\Oracle\jdevstudio1117\oracle_common\modules\oracle.jdbc_11.1.1 as the pre-configured settings are for ojdbc6dms.jar.

How to import custom java jar/class into oracle to be used in java proc ?

I would like to know how to import custom java jar/class files into oracle to be used in java stored procedure.
I am developing a oracle pl/sql procedure to call java program. The java program will be created as procedure and will be published.
But, my question is that I do have a other external jar/class file that need to be imported into this java program.

Problem is that, I have 6 jar files that are needed to be included in the main java program. And, there are more than 50+ classes, propertiers in those 6 jar files.
It might be not good idea to have all those 50+ classes in the production database.
Is there anyway that I keep all those 6 jar files in unix box (our's is oracle erp installation with oracle being installed on unix box) and just refer them in the main java program. I mean database will be loaded with main java program and it should able to refer other 6 jar files from unix.
if we create a directory and keep all jar files in there and include that directory in classpath variable, does this works? or what is other method?

How can I move an existing iTunes library from a Dell PC (which uses Windows Vista) to a MacBook Pro? I have tried to copy the library from the PC onto a memory stick but cannot move from the stick onto the MacBook Pro.

I have tried to copy my iTunes library from my old (2008) Dell PC to a 32 GB memory stick and then copy it from the stick to the iTunes library in the new MacBook Pro which I purchased recently from a reputable dealer which resells refurbished Macs, (lease returns, etc). The dealer was Computer Trends store in Saskatoon. They told me how to move my existing iTunes libary from the PC to the Mac but I cannot seem to achieve that objective. The Mac does not seem to recognize the memory stick. I thought the Mac would recognize that the memory stick held iTunes files and would then transfer them without prompting to its own iTunes libary. It did not do so. I have therefore tried to find the command sequence within iTunes (on the Mac) for moving the material from the memory stick to the iTunes library. Cannot find those commands. Does anybody know where to find such commands. I have to say, I am really disappointed that such a simple function would prove to be beyond my capabilities. I thought the Mac was supposed to be easier than a PC. !!! Oh well, I am hoping this forum will help !!!

Quick answer if you use iTunes default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
So, you can see your whole iTunes folder on the memory stick after copying from the PC?

I am writing a DOM parser and I need to print out the modified xml file. So I want to use the write funcition defined in the com.sun.xml.tree.XmlDocument library. But this package is NOT included in JAXP package. Where shall I get this om.sun.xml.tree.XmlDocument library?

The com.sun.xml.tree.XMLDocument class is not part of JAXP. It is part of Sun's parser. It is bundled with Sun's JAXP package. You can download Sun's JAXP package from http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/index.jsp

How to merge existing itunes library with another time machine volume?

hi all,
i am 2 macs, an iMac and a MacBook - both running Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and both running itunes 9.
is possible to merge the itunes library on the MacBook onto the iMac via my MacBook's Time Machine volume? i do not have my MacBook with me at this moment cos' i have sent it for diagnostic and repair. i have the latest itunes library backups on my MacBook's Time Machine.

you will be able to restore the other Mac's library to the iMac. go here and follow the instructions: http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/17.html. restore whatever you need to a temporary location, i.e. the desktop.
if you only want the media files, just restore the iTunes music folder. when restored, use +add to library+ from the file menu or just drag the folder you restored to the +automatically add to iTunes+ folder inside the iTunes folder.
if you also want playlists, playcounts, and ratings, you should restore the entire iTunes folder.
take a look @ PowerTunes. this app should enable you to merge the two libraries.

The same is working in some other machine which are in different network. So, I have replaced the wlclient.jar with the wlthint3client.jar.
After replacing this jar I was getting the below exception in client logs while requesting a state less session bean.I also checked whether the request is reaching the server (bean) or not, but its not reaching the server.The problem is same at all the machines irrespective of the networks.

I have tried one more thing, I have taken all the required jars to one of the client machines and executed the main class (by setting the required class path) from cmd using java instead of javaws. Surprisingly, its working fine with out any problem using the wlthint3client.jar.
I also tried the same, by placing wlclient.jar using java in the same way(from cmd instead of javaws ), but I was facing the same exception while requesting the second session bean and found the same above exception in client logs.
To resolve this, I come across the java bug that I have given earlier "_http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4809366_".
In that page, I found a work around for this; suggested by bea to add the Runtime permission "permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getClassLoader";" to the clients java.policy
So, please suggest me a way to resolve this problem.

I still think your problem is nothing to do with that ancient non-bug and that you should be looking elsewhere. You might be lucky and find someone here who can say "Ah, I know what that is" but I doubt it because since Oracle took over Sun this site has gone down hill big time.

According to one's position in regards to the person written to the formula can appreciative, demanding, unsatisfied, "threatening", etc.
In order to avoid retyping such formulas I'd like to save them in a Library and punch them into a letter as needed.
This was an option in ClarisWorks and perhaps AppleWorks but I can't figure out how to do it in Pages.
Any suggestions?

Create a series of shortcut expressions such as <a>, <d>, <u>, <t> etc and then make auto-substitution in:
Menu > Pages > Preferences > Auto-Correction > Symbol and text substitution

How to design a Java-basedNetworkLayoutTool for specifying networktopology?

hi,
i had given a project which is a webbased project where the user can design their whole network topolgy.
the technolgy is ultimately java only because it is web based.
technologies are java,swing,xml.
The GUI or front end should be designed in such a way that clients or end users can specify their whole network technology and can simulate it.
The GUI components are:-
1)Menu
2)Dockable or Movable tool bar
3)Tool bar should contain elements or components like(WAN,NODE,VR(virtua router),Frame Relay,UNI Directional,Bi Directional Links)
4)A drawable area where the user can draw whole network using elements of the toolbar.
5)designing property pages for all the elements like(for node(ipaddress,port),for Wan(some properties))
i have to do this in just a few days.iam not getting any idea how to approach?so please any body give me a suggestion of how to approach?
please also suggest me if i get any source code or samples or atleast articles on all related topics??

Well, it is not easily solvable as a webproject since the interaction demanded is higher than could easily be provided by a webbrowser.
Recomendations:
Assess the requirements on your system. What you probably will find that to achive that sort of interaction, you will have to switch to one of the following technologies: DHTM+javascript, Flash or deratives or java applet/webstart. All have advantages and drawbacks. Since you are posting here, I presume you are planning to go for the applet/webstart approach.
For the application:
1) Go through the swing tutorial to familiarise yourself to the swing components.
2) Read extra on LayoutManagers as you probably will be doing one of them if you want extra points. Otherwise a null-layout is usuable as well for your assignment.
3) For your different sorts of nodes and their definitions, for extra points, read about visual-proxies on javaworld ( http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-07-1999/jw-07-toolbox.html ).
4) Run to the store and buy anything that contains caffiene, guaruana or any other revitilasing content.
5) Design the application in a nice CASE tool. Don't do any of the normally important sequence diagram because of the time constraints.
6) Define a nice XML interface to be used by your application, based upon the requirements.
7) Draw your initial UI design on paper. And, yes, I do mean paper. If you can't draw it roughly, you will never be able to implement it. Also, since drawing is a pain, the UI usually seem to end up being simplier and more understandably by the users.
8) Code! I would start with the GUI and applet. The communication back to the webserver should be straigth enough and will not take so much time.
9) Test! Why did you think you where finished already, you must have missed something.
10) Deliver product, reap rewards.

How do I write and read a specified number of bytes using C++?

I need to send one byte commands followed by 1 or 2 byte data as well as read 1 or 2 byte commands from a RS232 device. How do I ensure that only 1 byte is sent for the commands or 2 bytes of data using VISA?

Using VISA in C++ you can strings or bytes depending on which polymorphic version of the write you are using. One of the parameters for the VISA Write is the byte array and the number of bytes. This is if you are using the VISA classes for C++. You might have to have Measurement Studio to get these classes.
There is a really good example that installs on your computer at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudio\VC\Examples\Io\Visa\Serial Visa.
This example shows how you can write just bytes or strings and you can select how many bytes to read back.
