  • Upgrade to 11.1.1.6 and Jdeveloper issues

    Dear all
    I completed the migration of my SOA environment to 11.1.1.6, including upgrade of WLS, upgrade of SOA infrastructure and schema upgrade with PSA. The environment seems to be working fine.
    The issue is that, when I try to install Jdeveloper 11.1.16, it reports that my SOA installation is still at 11.1.14 level, and I can't continue,
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Arturo
    I replied to your same question posted in different forums under Weblogic Server. JDeveloper and WLS+SOA should and must be in different middleware homes. Same folders may work but it overwrites some JARs. And in future you cannot upgrade this type of installation. We ran into this issue 2 yrs back with 11.3 having all in one single folder, and we were not able to upgrade it.
    Best is, to have totally different folders as I mentioned in your other forum.

  • JDeveloper issues (code assist and navigation)

    JDeveloper Team,
    I noticed the following issues with JDeveloper
    a) Code assist is not available for "var" attribute in JSP/JSF editor. For example, in <h:dataTable value="#{customer.customersFindAll}" var="current">, no code assist is available for "current" variable.
    b) "Select in Navigator" option in the code editor window, does not navigate to the target file if the target file belongs to a different workspace. It does change the workspace in the navigator but I have to execute "Select in Navigator" again to navigate to the target file.
    Hope this gets resolved in the next release.
    Thank you,
    Bala Raman.

    Thanks for posting these issues. I will file bugs to track these.

  • How do I submit a metalink3 support ticket for a JDeveloper issue?

    I went to the metalink3 support site and didn't see any category for submitting a ticket for a problem that I am experiencing with Oracle JDeveloper. What is the product name for JDeveloper in Metalink3? If I want to submit a ticket for an issue with JDeveloper, what is the proper way to do this? Is submitting a ticket through Metalink3 the correct way or is there some other way?

    User,
    I just went to [url http://metalink.oracle.com]Metalink and started to fill out an SR - JDeveloper was in the drop-down list for products.

  • JDeveloper Issue with Asserts

    Hi,
    I'm not sure where to send bug reports and didn't find any better place, so I'll try posting to this forum and hope, that it somehow reaches the developers....
    I just encountered an issue in JDeveloper where the UI Designer reports a "parse error in source" while using the assert statement without parentheses (e.g.: assert object != null;). This is valid java syntax and works fine with the compiler, but isn't recognized by the UI Editor.
    It works however when using parentheses around the expression, so this is primarily a cosmetic flaw.
    Greetings

    Hi Arturo
    1. It is very important to install SOA Software and JDeveloper in totally different Middleware Homes (means different folders).
    2. Looks like you already upgraded your WLS + SOA to 11.6 and ofcourse RCU Database also.
    3. When you download and install JDeveloper 11.6, in first screen, by default it will select above middleware home and will ask you, if this is where you want to install JDeveloper. Make sure you do NOT select this location where you have WLS + SOA. Instead select like create new middleware home and say on Windows give a path like C:\Oracle\Middleware\JDeveloper116 and this folder will have JDeveloper. Usually for WLS + SOA, I install to a folder like C:\Oracle\MiddlewareSOA115 etc.
    If you install both in same middleware home, some jars gets overwritten and you run into wierd issues.
    When you install JDeveloper, it should NOT even look for any SOA Software or version etc. JDeveloper is just the IDE. Install JDeveloper. From Help menu, you install 2 extensions for soa and bpm. Thats it.
    I hope ORACLE documentation clearly states that the middleware homes should be different for JDev and WLS or atleast this is Recommended or Supported. If it already does, pardon me.
    Thanks

  • Running an OA framwork page in Jdeveloper issue.

    HI all
    I am looking to run an iSourcing page SelectTemplatePG.xml within JDeveloper. However when I run it I am getting a nullpointer exception
    ## Detail 0 ##
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         at oracle.apps.pon.negotiation.creation.server.NegotiationCreationAMImpl.getHeaderEO(NegotiationCreationAMImpl.java:1860)
         at oracle.apps.pon.negotiation.creation.server.NegotiationCreationAMImpl.getDocumentNumber(NegotiationCreationAMImpl.java:848)
    I am running JDev 9.0.3.12.17
    I have done the following
    1. got the page name from about this page
    2. Cretaed a new workspace and project in Jdev
    3. copied all .xml files .class files etc under oracle to local myprojects dir.
    4. added a BC4J package and added package oracle.apps.pon.util.server, oracle.apps.pon.negotiation.creation.server
    5. added selectTemplatePG.xml to project
    6. make project and run
    However I get the above error..
    Also with point 4 how do I know which packages to add, is there a quick way to do this or find out?
    Thanks

    Looks like you are running a page which is part of a multipage transaction. Check the page function and make sure that page is not expecting any parameter, all the corresponding class files are present in the myclasses folder.

    I have defined a document in B2B for VDA4905. When I import this schema in JDev, I get a UTF8 encoding error. Oracle support has created a bug for this. I am reaching out to see, if anyone has encountered this problem and if there is any work around.
    Thanks
    Shanthi

    Please post your xsd (at least a part of it) so that we can check it, I can't see the SR. However, it sounds as a character encoding error. Probably the schema says that it is encoded in UTF-8 (the first line) but actually it uses another encoding (typically the standard Windows encoding). If so there are several solutions.
    One is to convert the file into UTF-8, for example with the iconv utility. Note that many editors have problems with UTF-8 files, though, so you may break it if you edit it. You can also try to convert the original file from UTF-8 into something else; if iconv complains about the encoding then the original file is not UTF-8! Experimenting with iconv you can find out what the actual encoding is and how to convert it into what you need.
    Another option is to modify the first line of the file and name the correct encoding. In our Swedish systems we often use ISO-8859-1 instead of UTF-8. That allows the use of Swedish characters in the xsd without having to use UTF-8-capable editors.
    Finally you could remove all problematic characters if that is possible, i.e. use only standard ASCII characters that are the same in UTF-8 and in the other encodings.
    While support may help you fix the problem "for real" you should be able to proceed using one of the workarounds above. Good luck!

  • Jdeveloper issue : How to override existing java library or specify exact version to use

    Our application is built in Eclipse. We have latest libraries referenced from Eclipse. I am trying to get the application configured to Jdeveloper but am getting compilation errors because of the org.apache.commons.lang jar version mismatch.
    When opening the project in Jdeveloper, the import classes are pointing to older version in Middleware11.1.2.1\modules\com.bea.core.apache.commons.lang_2.1.0.jar. I added commons-lang-2.6.jar to Project Properties Libraries & ClassPath. But still the StringUtils class is being referenced from the older location.
    How can I force library usage preference to be from application libraries instead of the default modules folder.
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 version.
    Thanks,
    Rakesh

    Hi,
    have you tried configuring the new library as part of the deployable so the library is deployed with the application ?

  • Running Java program outside Jdeveloper -- issue with dependent libaries

    Hello, I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7 and have built a java application that imports XML Files into Oracle, then exports an XML file for others to pick up.  I use jaxb, java persistance, and javax.mail etc....
    when I run the application in Jdeveloper it works properly, and now I am trying to place the application in my u:\temp directory to test run from the command line.  Later I will move this all to linux to run.
    In Jdeveloper I followed the directions about adding all the dependent jars into the application using the File Groups ( http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/creating-a-jar-file-in-jdeveloper/ )
    Doing this creates a very big jar file with all of the dependent jar files in it called xmlseprocessing.jar  and then I run it as such in dos
    set classpath=.;javax.mail_1.4.jar;xmlseprocessing.jar
    u:
    cd u:\temp
    C:\Oracle11117\Middleware\jdk160_24\bin\javac commandLineStartup.java
    C:\Oracle11117\Middleware\jdk160_24\bin\java  commandLineStartup
    I get this error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/mail/MessagingException
    I look on the internet, and finally decide to grab the javax.mail_1.4.jar and put it in my u:\temp directory, and update the classpath, and run it, but then I get this error.
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/persistence/Persistence

            ... 5 more
    My assumption is that I am going to have to grab every jar, add it to my local directory and create a very long path like oracle does when starting the application from jdeveloper (see below)
    QUESTION:  Given that I have added all of the required libraries to the xmlseprocessing.jar -- why is this happening?  Any solution?  Am I doing something wrong?
    Points awarded!!!!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    This is what I see in the log window when I run the application in Jdeveloper.

    rp0428,
    Thank you for your reply.  Please understand that I am on a tight deadline and have spent two weeks writing an application that I cannot run outside of jdeveloper.  I only have some experience with java -- I have been working with Jdeveloper extensively, but have only been deploying to Weblogic, so a lot of this is foreign to me.
    I had not noticed the comments underneath.  I now understand that I need to extract all the jars that are dependent (all the files added to my jar file when I added the File Group Library), and did so.  I also found a blog on this  https://blogs.oracle.com/bwb/resource/Jdev_jar_deployments/Creating_Jar_Deployments_with_JDeveloper.html
    So I have all these jars and the jar of the application that was created.   I created a small class called commandLineStartup.java that simply had a main method in it, where I called the program to run in my xmlseprocessing.jar
    I created a bat file that set the classpath (which I painstakingly created by taking the startup script that Jdeveloper created when running the program and replaced the various directory structure to match the location was running from
    ///// a.bat file runs this:
    set classpath=C:\temp\xmlseprocessing.jar;%dir%\wlfullclient.jar;C:\temp\javax.mail_1.1.0.0_1-4-1.jar;C:\temp\wljmsclient.jar;C:\temp\com.oracle.toplink_1.0.0.0_11-1-1-5-0.jar;C:\temp\org.eclipse.persistence_1.1.0.0_2-1.jar;C:\temp\com.bea.core.antlr.runtime_2.7.7.jar;C:\temp\javax.persistence_1.0.0.0_2-0-0.jar;C:\temp\xmlparserv2.jar;C:\temp\xml.jar;C:\temp\javax.jsf_1.1.0.0_1-2.jar;C:\temp\javax.ejb_3.0.1.jar;C:\temp\javax.enterprise.deploy_1.2.jar;C:\temp\javax.interceptor_1.0.jar;C:\temp\modules\javax.jms_1.1.1.jar;C:\temp\javax.jsp_1.2.0.0_2-1.jar;C:\temp\javax.jws_2.0.jar;C:\temp\javax.activation_1.1.0.0_1-1.jar;C:\temp\javax.xml.soap_1.3.1.0.jar;C:\temp\javax.xml.rpc_1.2.1.jar;C:\temp\javax.xml.ws_2.1.1.jar;C:\temp\javax.management.j2ee_1.0.jar;C:\temp\javax.resource_1.5.1.jar;C:\temp\javax.servlet_1.0.0.0_2-5.jar;C:\temp\javax.transaction_1.0.0.0_1-1.jar;C:\temp\javax.xml.stream_1.1.1.0.jar;C:\temp\javax.security.jacc_1.0.0.0_1-1.jar;C:\temp\javax.xml.registry_1.0.0.0_1-0.jar;C:\temp\ojdbc6dms.jar;C:\temp\orai18n.jar;C:\temp\ojdl.jar;.
    C:\Oracle11117\Middleware\jdk160_24\bin\javac commandLineStartup.java
    C:\Oracle11117\Middleware\jdk160_24\bin\java  commandLineStartup
    /////  This is the commandLineStartup file
    public class commandLineStartup{
        public static void main(String[] args) {
      startup.startAll s = new startup.startAll();
                   s.startupProcesses() ;
    I found this also on including the meta-inf directory files.   https://blogs.oracle.com/bwb/resource/Jdev_jar_deployments/Creating_Jar_Deployments_with_JDeveloper.html
    Now it blows up with this error  java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/utils/NestedException
    So I scour the internet and find a solution to create a wlFullClient.jar (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/client/jarbuilder.html),
    Now I run it and get Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/management/WebLogicMBean
    And now I get this:  Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/dms/console/DMSConsole
    This is absolutely crazy.  I am doing this all manually and by hand, which is error prone.  There has got to be a better way of doing it.  Does ant make it so you can deploy and run? Is there some program that does this for me?   What happens when I throw this out on linux?  Another two days of idiotic troubleshooting?
    Thank you,
    Stuart
    All I want to do is run the thing.  I have now spent two days putting files into this and that directory, creating the Jar with and without the dependent jars and trying every combination.
    Up to this point I have been impressed with Java.  Now I am about to throw my computer out the window.

  • JDeveloper Issue-- Customizing iExpense Page-- Urgent

    Hi Gurus,
    I am new to OAF, I have gone thru tutorials and setup the environment.
    I have copied all classes and mds from JAVA_TOP and AP_TOP directories to my local machine..to myclasses and myprojects.
    The problem is how can I see the classes and other stuff in the JDeveloper. I have created new OA workspace and project as "AP" but still I cannot see the classes under this workspace or project.. What piece I am missing?,
    Anyhelp would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Ravi,
    Make sure that the project type is of OAProject. If you are using 9.0.3 Jdeveloper, you might need to add these files in your OAProject using Add files icon. If you are using 10.1.3, check if you have added the <jdevhome>/myproject in the Java Content and you do not have anything in the Excluded list (both are present under Project Content area in the Project Settings).
    Regards,
    Guru.

  • JDeveloper Issue-Urgent.(Unable to find component with absolute reference)

    Hello ppl,
    I been struck up with some JDev issue ,I copied the JDev and set my JDEV_USER_HOME and i create a simple page and try to run it...I get the following error
    Exception:
    oracle.adf.mds.MetadataDefException: Unable to find component with absolute reference = /oracle/apps/eam/workorder/webui/EAM_EW_START_PAGE, XML Path = null. Please verify that the reference is valid and the definition of the component exists either on the File System or in the MDS Repository.

    I been trying around this for the past 2 days....
    Appreciate any help!!
    Cheers.
    1.I tried creating a new page it didnt work...
    2.I tried copying an existing page the error message points to it...but no use..
    3.i could not find the env.txt in my jdevhome (can this be the problem?)
    Cheers.

    Rcana,
    Sorry, but the question is really specific to OA Framework. The JDev version you are using is quite "special," in that it's only available on Metalink for Apps customers. Sorry, but OA Framework forum is really the right place.
    Did you follow the instructions for setting it up (came in the zip file you downloaded from Metalink)?

  • Toplink descriptor migration issues in JDeveloper 10.1.3.5 - 11

    I'm having several projects developed with TL as a PM in JDeveloper 10.1.3.5. Descriptors and toplink-ejb.jar file are parsed correctly, but when I migrate projects to 11G Toplink parsing breaks and it is not able to display EJBs with the following error:

    Re: Errors migrating from jDev 10.1.3.4 to jDev 11.2.1
    I did try to migrate to 11.1.1.4.0 and 11.1.1.5.0 - still no luck. All offline databases are present and correctly "connect" to corresponding EJBs in 10.1.3.5.
    Neither I cant find migration matrix/docs that were referred in similar threads. If this is not resolved, we can not chose Jdeveloper as a future IDE at the company...
    Thank you!
    V.

    Hi,
    the web appears to be full of such error messages and some point to the use of named native query vs. named query. So here are some options for you to try
    1. Create a test project in 11g using the same tables and compare the generated code with yours to see a difference
    2. Get a 10.1.3.5 project that you haven't migrated and pass it on to customer support for them to have a try on this.
    +"If this is not resolved, we can not chose Jdeveloper as a future IDE at the company..."+ Actually it doesn't appear to be a JDeveloper issue but a TopLink / EclipseLink issue. Abandoning JDeveloper is like shooting the messenger. Just so you know.

  • Orion-ejb-jar ignored by JDeveloper deploying to OC4J

    orion-ejb-jar.xml is ignored by JDeveloper 903 when deploying to external OC4J 903. Specific mappings like those below are lost:
    <entity-deployment name="RequestEJB" copy-by-value="false" data-source="jdbc/OracleDS" exclusive-write-access="false" table="REQUEST">
    <primkey-mapping>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestid" persistence-name="REQUESTID" persistence-type="NUMBER(9)"/>
    </primkey-mapping>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestid" persistence-name="REQUESTID" persistence-type="NUMBER(9)"/>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestuser" persistence-name="REQUESTUSER" persistence-type="VARCHAR2(30)"/>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestlabel" persistence-name="REQUESTLABEL" persistence-type="VARCHAR2(12)"/>

    orion-ejb-jar is placed at the META-INF folder. Why does JDeveloper ignore it? It does not ignore orion-application.xml nor orion-web.xml. Must I configure project or deployment profiles not to overwrite orion-ejb-jar?

    I believe that it is not JDeveloper issue but OC4J one. It does not pick up new orion-ejb-jar.xml if you re-deploy bean(s). It should deploy your orion-ejb-jar.xml when you're deploying yor application for the first time (so there is not orion-ejb-jar.xml in deployments directory). If you want OC4J to pick changes up remove orion-ejb-jar.xml from $OC4J_HOME/application-deployments/<application>/<Bean>.jar/ and then deploy it either manually or with JDeveloper. I hope it will help.
