JDeveloper Line Compiler and Generics

Hello all. Well it's great to finally have a fully Java 6 compatible JDeveloper. I have run into a problem with
generics however. Consider the following code:
public class MyMessageFactory
public static <Type extends MyMessageType> Type getInstance()
Type rtnObj;
// some code
return rtnObj;
where MyMessageType is defined as an abstract class:
public abstract class MyMessageType
So far everything is good. When I refer to the above method in another class however, the line compiler complains that I am
equating to an incompatible type:
MyMessageImpl myMessageImpl = MyMessageFactory.getInstance();
When I use NetBeans or Eclipse I do not get this error. However the JDeveloper line compiler forces me to use a cast:
MyMessageImpl myMessageImpl = (MyMessageImpl)MyMessageFactory.getInstance();
Anyone have any ideas on what may be wrong here?

What is wrong is that there is a bug in Audit and also in the OJC compiler. Sorry about that. I filed bugs to have this fixed.
Please use the cast to avoid the bugs.

    Hi Guru,

    Line Item Dimenstion
    If a field (date, progressive document number, timestamp) exists in the extract structure of a DataSource that contains values which increase monotonously over time, you can define delta capability for this DataSource. If such a delta-relevant field exists in the extract structure, such as a timestamp, the system determines the data volume transferred in the delta method by comparing the maximum value transferred with the last load with the amount of data that has since entered the system. Only the data that has newly arrived is transferred.
    To get the delta, generic delta management translates the update mode into a selection criterion. The selection of the request is enhanced with an interval for the delta-relevant field. The lower limit of the interval is known from the previous extraction. The upper limit is taken from the current value, such as the timestamp or the time of extraction. You can use security intervals to ensure that all data is taken into consideration in the extractions (The purpose of a security interval is to make the system take into consideration records that appear during the extraction process but which remain unextracted -since they have yet to be saved- during the next extraction; you have the option of adding a security interval to the upper limit/lower limit of the interval).
    After the data request was transferred to the extractor, and the data was extracted, the extractor then informs generic delta management that the pointer can be set to the upper limit of the previously returned interval.
    To have a clear idea:
    1. If delta field is Date (Record Create Date or change date), then use Upper Limit of 1 day.
    This will load Delta in BW as of yesterday. Leave Lower limit blank.
    2. If delta field is Time Stamp, then use Upper Limit of equal to 1800 Seconds (30 minutes).
    This will load Delta in BW as of 30 minutes old. Leave Lower limit blank.
    3. If delta field is a Numeric Pointer i.e. generated record # like in GLPCA table, then use
    Lower Limit. Use count 10-100. Leave upper limit blank. If value 10 is used then last 10
    records will be loaded again. If a record is created when load was running, those records
    may get lost. To prevent this situation, lower limit can be used to backup the starting
    sequence number. This may result in some records being processed more than once.

  • Compile and Run From Windows Cmd Line?

    Hey,
    I have a Java project that I've created and run successfully from within Eclipse IDE. Now, I'm trying to compile and run from the command line so I don't have to depend on Eclipse. I can't seem to get it to work. I get tons of classpath looking errors.
    Is there a way to use Eclipse such that it will show you the correct synatx to run the project from the command line?

  • SWF and XML for Command line compiling for iOS

    I need to compile an application for iOS using command line ADT. I need to pass the SWF and XML to the ADT command. But which ones do I need to pass as the ones available are in the debug folder and I don't think they are well optimized for mobile publishing. Also the XML has debug with id in it.

    Hi,
    Yes, Flash Builder, by default, doesn’t save release swfs. A simpler way to get them however be to go to Project->Properties->Flex Compiler and set
    ‘-debug=false’ in compiler arguments.
    Now the swf generated in bin-debug will be a release swf.
    Please let us know in case you face any issues.
    Thanks,
    Amish.

  • Compiling and installing Tux On Ice, need a little help

    I have a desktop system and a netbook that I would like to have hibernating when they aren't being used.  The wiki outlined roughly how to accomplish this with this page:  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Tuxonice
    I downloaded from the AUR the kernel26-ice 2.6.38-4 to compile and install.  I managed to compile it (I think ... correctly I hope) but every time I try to get it installed with "mkinitcpio -p kernel26-ice.preset" the build fails with these errors:
    [root@blackyunzi ~]# mkinitcpio -p kernel26-ice
    /etc/mkinitcpio.d/kernel26-ice.preset: line 5: /etc/mkinitcpio.d/kernel26-ice.kver: No such file or directory

    ==> WARNING: No kernel version specified. Skipping image `fallback'
    [root@blackyunzi ~]# cd ~heather/aur_builds/kernel26-ice/kernel26-ice/
    I have tried to CD into the build directory just to make sure I was using the correct file but that has not helped.  I've never compiled my own kernel before today and I'm stymied as to what I'm doing wrong.  If it matters, I compiled it as a regular user in the folder where I downloaded it to.  The contents of my build directory:

    Hm... netbook.
    If you don't mind trying bfs and bfq too, then you could give the pf-kernel that is mentioned in the wiki too a try:
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=50956
    It has a repository here:
    [pfkernel]
    Server = http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11734958/$arch
    and a thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=103462
    I'm not quite sure how netbook performance is affected by BFS...
    It has the bonus to already be based on 3.0.

  • Compiling and putting java classes in database schema

    hi..good evening to all...
    I have total 7 java classes which i have to compile and put in the database schema. those 7 classes are interdependent on each other thats why there is a particular order of execution.
    i want to compile and put them in the schema thorugh the command line.
    i have tried doing this one by one by executing the following command in cmd...
    D:\>loadjava -u username/password@sid -v -resolve javaclassname.java
    then its working fine..
    But i have to do this in one time i.e i have to compile and put all the 7 classes in schema by a single command.
    Thats why i have put all the 7 classes one by one in the required order...save the file as 'java_sources.java' and then run the following command...
    D:\>loadjava -u username/password@sid -v -resolve java_sources.java
    but it is not working... :(
    please help...thanks in advance

    Hi,
    It is not required to load one by one class files into the schema. Can create a jar file for all the class files and load the jar file using the '-o' option in loadjava
    eg:
    loadjava -u username/password@sid -v -r -o jar_file_name.jarI hope you might use any IDE to develop the java class files. All the IDE have option to develop jar file if not get oracle JDeveloper for easy option.
    Check the version of jdk used in your oracle server and use appropiate version of Jdeveloepr and compile the classes.
    If your class files use any builtin library jar files those also need to be loaded.
    As thomaso said if pasted with errors can resovle easier

  • JDeveloper 9i RC and JDK 1.4?

    Sorry if this is an FAQ, but I haven't found it anywhere...
    The RC download of Oracle9i JDeveloper does not appear to support JDK 1.4 properly. I can set up the JDK classpaths for compilation, and the JDK Java executable for running, however JDeveloper still uses its own compiler "ocj".
    ocj does not appear to support the new 1.4 language features, particularly "assert". The ocj command-line help tells me there is a "-target 1.4" option, but this doesn't appear to do anything!
    Even if it did, I'm not sure where I can put this option within the Project Properties to get compiles within the IDE (as opposed to command-line) to use it.
    Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks,
    Ellis.

    Hi,
    The Oracle9i JDeveloper production ojc compiler will support the 1.4 assert keyword.
    Thanks,

  • Command line compiler (rhcl.exe) adds on rogue full pathways into [Merge Files] of .hhp

    I'm using RH 9 and generating chm outputs on my Win 7 64-bit computer.
    I have a core chm help file and several sub chm helps that get merged into it.
    I have a batch file that regularly compiles our help files locally and then copies them into a common local directory. It then copies them up to a mapped network drive where they are picked up by the nightly build of our installer.
    The problem I have, is that the command line compiler (rhcl.exe) is adding on a full pathway for all the sub helps listed in the [Merge Files] section of the core help's .hhp file, causing these problems:
    1) First of all, the pathways are wrong. The pathway it puts on is from the location of my .xpj file of my core help project. The output directory for the compiler is actually sending all the helps to a different local directory.
    2) These need to be relative, and should not have full pathways. The full pathways make it so that when I click on a subhelp TOC entry that subhelp's topic opens up in an entirely different window instead of merged into the core help's window. (See #13 on Peter's helpful site here about the problem with absolute paths: http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/rh9/using_rh9.htm)
    Here' what I want it to look like (the good):
    [MERGE FILES]
    pcdmisportable.chm
    pcdmistutor.chm
    pcdmisvision.chm
    pcdmislaser.chm
    pcdmiscmm.chm
    pcdmisUJB.chm
    pcdbasic.chm
    toolkitmodulesvwmp.chm
    pcdmisdci.chm
    toolkitmodules.chm
    pcdmisnc.chm
    pcdmisip.chm
    toolkitmodulesblade.chm
    pcdmisregistry.chm
    pcdmisfixturing.chm
    Here's what it looked like after the command line compile (the bad and the ugly):
    [MERGE FILES]
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisportable.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmistutor.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisvision.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmislaser.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmiscmm.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisUJB.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdbasic.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\toolkitmodulesvwmp.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisdci.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\toolkitmodules.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisnc.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisip.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\toolkitmodulesblade.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisregistry.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisfixturing.chm
    I've done the following ....
    I've checked my .xpj file and they have relative paths only.
    I've deleted my .cpd file.
    I've removed chm references from my rhbag.apj.
    ... and the hhp file still gets modified with pathways to my core project
    directory tacked on:
    It's strange; because if I compile without the command line, by opening the project and running the generation inside of RH, I don't get the problem where it re-writes the [Merge Files] section with the pathnames.
    Any ideas on where are these rogue full pathways coming from and how I can fix it? Or is it just a bug with the command line version of the compiler that Adobe will need to fix?

    I don't use command line generation but to the best of my knowledge, this has not been fixed.

  • Is there anyone at all here who has successfully compiled and deployed an SSRS custom report item in VS2012?

    Is there anyone at all here who has successfully compiled and deployed an SSRS custom report item in VS2012?  Is there a demo out there that actually works in VS2012?  Is there anyone who has actually been able to compile and deploy that
    apparently obsolete Polygons demo?  (Pardon my impatience but I'm running a bit short of time here.)
    After much hacking and googling I was able to get Polygons to compile but I still can't deploy it to the toolbox.  ('The custom report item type PolygonsDesigner is not installed').   I've modified the RSReportDesigner.config
    as instructed but I have no rssrvpolicy.config file on my local machine and
    as yet I have no idea if that is necessary for local development.
    In order to get it to compile I first added the reference  C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportingServices.ProcessingCore.dll to both projects.
    To the PolygonsDesigner Project I also added the references:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Controls.dll
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportingServices.Designer.11.0.dll
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces.dll
    Are these the correct references?
    Exactly what software do you need installed on your local machine in addition to VS2012 in order to create a custom control?
    (Designer.11.0 was added per the instructions in reference: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/783391/unable-to-integrate-previously-working-ssrs-custom-report-item-to-vs-2012s-toolbox
    After that I added the alias RSDesigner to it's properties and   extern alias RSDesigner; at the top of the PolygonsDesigner.cs file. )
    As of now, the top of the PolygonsDesigner.cs is as follows.  I don't recall making any other changes to the code.  As far as I can remember this is all I did in order to be able to compile the code in VS2012.
        extern alias RSDesigner;
        using System;
        using System.ComponentModel;
        using System.ComponentModel.Design;
        using System.Collections;
        using System.Collections.Generic;
        using System.Diagnostics;
        using System.Drawing;
        using System.Windows.Forms;
        using Microsoft.ReportDesigner;
        using Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Design;
        using Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces;
        using Microsoft.ReportingServices.RdlObjectModel;
        using System.Xml;
        using System.Xml.Xsl;
        using System.Xml.XPath;
        [LocalizedName("Polygons")]
        [Editor(typeof(CustomEditor), typeof(ComponentEditor))]
        [ToolboxBitmap(typeof(PolygonsDesigner), "Polygons.ico")]
        [CustomReportItem("Polygons")]
        [ToolboxItem(typeof(RSDesigner::Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Shell.CRIToolboxItem))]
        [System.CLSCompliant(false)]
        public class PolygonsDesigner : CustomReportItemDesigner
        {   etc...

    Just fixed this myself.
    It appears the documentation online is wrong and the sample code is missing a reference to a reporting services dll and an attribute.
    What you need to do to get it working in VS2012 is add a reference to: Microsoft.ReportingServices.designer.11.0.dll to the PolygonsDesigner project and then add the following attribute to the PolygonsDesigner class: [ToolboxItem(typeof(Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Shell.CRIToolboxItem))]
    I also removed the [System.CLSCompliant(false)] attribute.
    You then recompile and place both dlls in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies directory and the PolygonsDesigner.dll into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
    or what ever is you reporting services path.
    You also need to change the Microsoft example for the rereportserver.config file to:
        <ReportItemDesigner>
       <ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsDesigner, PolygonsDesigner" />
        </ReportItemDesigner>
        <ReportItems>
       <ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsCRI,PolygonsCRI"/>
        </ReportItems>
     Notice that I changed the namespaces and class to what is in the actual code so if you change it make sure you change it here.
    And here in the RSReportDesigner.config:
    <ReportItems>
          <ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsCustomReportItem,PolygonsCRI" />
        </ReportItems>
        <ReportItemDesigner>
          <ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsDesigner, PolygonsDesigner" />
        </ReportItemDesigner>
        <ReportItemConverter>
          <Converter Source="Chart" Target="Polygons" Type="PolygonsCRI.PolygonsConverter, PolygonsDesigner" />
        </ReportItemConverter>
    Notice I haven't changed the last part as I didn't know what the PolygonsCRI.PolygonsConverter was.
    And make sure the rssrvpolicy.config looks like this:
         <CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="FullTrust" Description="This code group grants PolygonsCRI.dll FullTrust permission. ">
           <IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition" version="1" Url="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.SQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\PolygonsCRI.dll" />
        </CodeGroup>
    After a restart of ssrs and relaunch of VS2012 I opened a test project and added the PolygonsDesigner.dll to the toolbox and it works.

  • How to compile and run package programs in Java

    Hi,
    I want to know how to compile and run the package programs in Java using -d. instead of creating the package folder manually.
    eg:
    package Test;
    class test1
    public void disp()
    //Any code;
    I want to compile this without creating the folder ' Test ' manually. that is if we use -d with javac the Test folder will be created automatically. I need the format of -d

  • Warning message from Jdeveloper on Compilation

    Hi all,
    I am a new bie to JDeveloper and ADF. While deploying my sample application, "_Warning: JSP is not within the HTML Root directory, nor is it a tag file from a distributed tag library. It will not be compiled_." is shown for all the jspx pages created. Does it shows a bad folder structure interms of best pratices followed. please suggest.
    Thanks
    jzwl

    Please mentions your jdev version?
    What kind of application and which technologies do you use.
    The error message tells you that jsp files are found which are not in the html_root folder or a subdirectory from the html_root. Those files won't be compiled and are not reachable from the browser when the app is running.
    To solve this you should move all jsp files in the html_root or a subdirectory from html_root.

    How to do basic LO extraction for SAP-R3-BW
    1. Go to transaction code RSA3 and see if any data is available related to your DataSource. If data is there in RSA3 then go to transaction code LBWG (Delete Setup data) and delete the data by entering the application name.
    2. Go to transaction SBIW --> Settings for Application Specific Datasource --> Logistics --> Managing extract structures --> Initialization --> Filling the Setup table --> Application specific setup of statistical data --> perform setup (relevant application)
    3. In OLI*** (for example OLI7BW for Statistical setup for old documents : Orders) give the name of the run and execute. Now all the available records from R/3 will be loaded to setup tables.
    4. Go to transaction RSA3 and check the data.
    5. Go to transaction LBWE and make sure the update mode for the corresponding DataSource is serialized V3 update.
    6. Go to BW system and create infopackage and under the update tab select the initialize delta process. And schedule the package. Now all the data available in the setup tables are now loaded into the data target.
    7.Now for the delta records go to LBWE in R/3 and change the update mode for the corresponding DataSource to Direct/Queue delta. By doing this record will bypass SM13 and directly go to RSA7. Go to transaction code RSA7 there you can see green light # Once the new records are added immediately you can see the record in RSA7.
    8.Go to BW system and create a new infopackage for delta loads. Double click on new infopackage. Under update tab you can see the delta update radio button.
    9.Now you can go to your data target and see the delta record.
    find your scenario and find what data sources do you need on R3 side and ensure they are active as well:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/37/5fb13cd0500255e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    find your scenario -> data sources -> go to R3 -> sbiw and activate required data source
    replicate data sources in BW:
    RSA1 -> source systems -> right click on your source system -> replicate
    then activate your BC:
    service.sap.com/bi -> BI Business Content -> General Information -> SAP BW Business Content - Activation
    and execute infopackage (it should be delivered with BC)

  • JPA and Generics

    Hi,
    please consider the following code snippet:
    @Entity
    @Table(name = "MS")
    @DiscriminatorColumn (name="TYPE",discriminatorType=DiscriminatorType.INTEGER)
    public abstract class MS<T extends M> implements java.io.Serializable {
        @JoinColumn(name = "M_ID", referencedColumnName = "ID")
        @ManyToOne(fetch=FetchType.LAZY)
        private T m;
    @Entity
    @DiscriminatorValue("0")
    public class BS extends MS<B> implements java.io.Serializable {
    @Entity
    @Table (name="M")
    @DiscriminatorColumn (name="TYPE",discriminatorType=DiscriminatorType.INTEGER)
    public abstract class M<T extends MS> implements java.io.Serializable {
        @OneToMany(mappedBy="m")
        private Set<T> ms = new HashSet<T>();
    @Entity
    @DiscriminatorValue("0")
    public class B extends M<BS> implements java.io.Serializable {
    }This compiles and deploys fine. However, at runtime JPA is not able
    to figure out what m in the mappedBy attribute refers to.
    It complains that it has a set of type BS which does not have the field m defined. This is true for BS
    but its super class MS has this field defined.
    So I wondering if this is a limitation of JPA or may be I configured something
    wrong!? Is a scenario like above possible with the current JPA?
    Thanks for any help.
    regards.

    No idea!? Let me give an example using Hibernate (you could replace it with JPA though):
    B b = session.get(B.class, Long.valueOf(1));
    Hibernate.initialize(b);In the initialize() process you get an exception, complaining that the Set cannot be resolved because the property m does not exist in class B (which is the type at runtime).
    So I am wondering if it is currently possible to use generics in this way with JPA/Hibernate Entity Manager?
