Unable to define Radio Button Text field & unable to change column position

Hi,
While designing a screen in Screen Painter, I am unable to define Radio Button Text field as this option is not there in Graphical Element. And also I want to specify the starting position of column of that element different from the default value, but I am unable to define that because the field is non-editable.
Can any one please help me out.

Here radio1(1) TYPE c is defined within the program but in the element list there are RADIO1 element exist. One is actual radio button and the other is Radio Button Text.
I am not able to create that radio button text using same object name.

Hide Button if Field Empty

I have a view which I create a new button. I'm using a JSONModel to bind data to the button like so:

Not all records have a phone number, in that case I want to hide the button (setVisible(false)). Can you folks provide or point me to an example that does this? In the view, I tried to read the button text with getText(), but it's empty, I think because the data is binded after the view renders. This seems so simple, but I'm missing something.
I should have prefaced, I'm new to MVC and OOP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am wondering what would be the requirement for this? Is it for SplitApp Controls's 'Back' button in Detail page? For Phone an Desktop scenarios? If yes, there is an easy way to do that.
If not, you may do binding for the 'visible' property of the button. Example:

Changing quiz button text

I am working on a series of tutorials and quizzes for our
client, I want to change the text on the "Next" button on the
quizzes. It appears easy enough, in the options, Next button text
field, I have entered what I want, but it still appears as "Next"
when I publish it. Am I an idiot?

This may be a stupid question, but did you save the file
before you published? I have sometimes had instances of not saving
and publishing first and my changes are not reflected.
Also, if the buttons were already on the screen with the text
"Next" when you decided to change the button text, you'll need to
delete those buttons and then add them again. The text does not
update dynamically.
Worst comes to worst, you can manually change the button text
with a double-click or through properties...

You will have to use a keyListener since the use is not able to type into a disabled TextField. Listen for KeyEvents, if you get one enable the TextField a fill it with the char of the pressed key.

Empty text field warning

I want to have a book printed from Aperture 1.5.4, but when I press the 'Buy Book' button, a dialog pops up:
"*Empty text field detected in book*
The book you are about to order contains an empty text field.
How do you wish to proceed? Cancel/Continue"
That's all very nice, to give me a warning like that, but how on earth am I going to find one invisible text field in a 50-page book full of colour photos??
Does anyone have a hint? How problematic is it to leave the text field in? Common sense dictates that an empty text field should not be visible in the printed book either, but knowing Apple's fickleness in book matters... can I be sure? I can generate and check the PDF of course, but I don't know if that's sufficient proof.

sounds like there is a text box (unfilled) and you haven't typed nor pasted text into it.
it's not that the text field is invisible, it's there yet to be selected and filled in with your information. so it is visible. have another looksie at it, look for the default letters or "Title Information Here"...

Sure, you can override the warning and press "Continue" instead.
But you said "you have been through the book many times" - have you checked the pages in Aperture's book view or have you checked the preview of the book? I'd look at least at at the "Preview" of the Book - after pressing "Continue" you will see the "Preview" button when the next panel is shown. Look carefully at the preview of the book, if any text is missing.
If you are sure that you like what you see in the preview and no empty textfields show, you can proceed to buy the book.

Dynamically created Text field inside of empty Movieclip

Hi there.
My goal is to have a button that, when clicked, an empty
movieclip is created and a text field is attached to it.
I could write it easily if the newly created instance names
where hard coded, the problem comes with the syntax to generate
them dynamically.
Here's the code i have so far:

if your createText() function isn't working the way you want
check your use of "this" and "_root". if they're not the same,
you're not referencing your newly created movieclip correctly. and
your textfield depth isn't what you really want, but it should work
ok.

Auto populate blank text fields with n.a from a button or on print out.

This seems straight forward but I cannot find an existing questions on this topic.
I would like to add a form function that will fill any blank text fields with n.a. I do not want to use the default field value as I think it will cause confusion and cannot be applied for text fields formatted for dates. Is it possible to run a script that can do this? It would be OK if the action was triggered from a button or print activity after the rest of the form has been completed.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The question is whether your form is used only for filling out on screen (and not as a level 0 form, being printed out and filled out manually).
If so, why not make the default value of the concerned fields to be "n/a" (or whatever you want to name them). That would relieve you from any validating before printing.
Otherwise, you could maintain a list of field names which should get the n/a value if empty. This list would be an array.
Your code in the willPrint event (if you want to have it reliably) would then look like this:

So this what I'm trying to do:

I have a radio button: (     )
and a text field: |TEXT FIELD|
The third text field is blank, and I would like for the radio button next to it greyed out (user can't click on it) since the text field is blank. Is this possible to achieve? I'm assuming I'll have to use javascript, but what would the code be and would it be entered in the javascript editor for the text field or the radio button?

Radio button to text field

Hi there,
I have a (probably) easy question to answer for a programming newbie.
I have a radio button - it says are you left or right handed - so two options: left and right - I have also changed their values from 0 and 1 to left and right. I've called the object name: 'handed' and set it to global data
On another part of the form I would like an uneditable text field that says: this person is ... handed
...so in other words there's a gap where I want the text to say 'left' or 'right' - I've also given this field the name 'handed'.
It almost works, but instead of showing the name I get the value (ie. 0 or 1) - can anyone help me to change the value into the text?

well, I don't know what I did wrong before, but this time round I changed the values from 0 and 1 to right and left and lo and behold it worked - so didn't need to resort to coding for this one.
However, before doing that I tried what you said above but couldn't get it to work - am I missing syntax here - not sure. Also, wasn't sure when the calculate event would happen. Ie. is it instantaneous with when the user clicks on the radio button to make the selection, or does the event need to be triggered somehow - eg. using a button on click etc.?

I wanted to know I can press "enter" in a text field on a website that doesn't have an enter button.
I have used the following to help me code (i.e. login, enter values into fields).

The above link helps but there isn't a submit on the website I am trying to access or in the code.
What has worked for me, but isn't the best solution, is to simulate a mouse click on the desired field, after text entry, then simulate the keyboard "pressing enter". The problem with this is the mouse click depends on the position of the labview front panel. The code runs in the background and is also a subvi.

Just a question/idea - but can you not just POST the data to the web server directly? Take a look at the HTML of the page and see if you can find the <form action="<THE URL TO POST TO>"> and then find all of the names of the form fields and send them along with the values via the HTTP Client POST VI.
It sounded to me like you are trying to push data into a web server so it shouldn't be necessary to render the page and fill out the fields on the rendered page if you can bypass all that and just submit the data and get the response.
If the form data is sent asynchronously (using AJAX), then you might need to delve a little into the site's javascript to find the POST URL and field names.

Make a read-only text field open by using button and javascript

Hello
I have a form with text fields that I will pre-populate with data. The text fields will be read-only by default. I want to make it so that when a user wants to make edits, he will need to click on a button and in turn, the text field's background will turn gray and he can make edits to the text field. I can already make the background turn gray but I cannot make the text field open.
This is the code that will run after the button is clicked:
color.ltGray = new Array("G", 0.75);
this.getField('TestField').fillColor = color.ltGray;
this.getField('TestField').access = "open";
The text field's background turns gray but it is still read-only. Any ideas?
