JDIC and ANT - BUILD FAILED

Can anyone help me?
I am trying to launch lotus notes from my java application. I made some changes in ServiceManagerStub.java to launch lotus note. Here is the changes I made.
URL: https://jdic.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=408
Now I am trying to rebuild build.xml using ANT.
I am using DOS prompt for my compilation.
I am getting following error. Could any one help me?
This is the command I used: ant buildall
This is the error I got:
BUILD FAILED:
C:\..\..\build.xml:153: The following error occurred while executing this line:
C:\..\..\build.xml:217: Execute failed: java.io.IOException: createprocess: nmake /f jdic.mak CFG=jdic  win32 Release error=2
This is the command I used: ant buildwin32
This is the error I got:
BUILD FAILED:
C:\..\..\build.xml:217: Execute failed: java.io.IOException: createprocess: nmake /f jdic.mak CFG=jdic  win32 Release error=2
Thank you very much for your help.

Option 1: I tried to find out the folder where
"nmake" is located. I could not find it. Could you
tell me how to find out that folder?If you're on Windows, go to My Computer -> Search and give it some time :-)
Option 2: I understood that I have to uses external
path for this. But I am not sure how to do that. Is
there any way I can get the steps that I have to
follow? If you want to use the PATH environment variable, it differs slightly between Windows versions.
I suggest, after you found out the path, first you specify the full path right there in your Ant file where you exec it, just to see if that works. Then, if you have a need to make your script a bit more portable, you can refactor so the path is in an Ant property, which you could choose to define in an external file for maximum flexibility.
For more information about Ant, see http://ant.apache.org/manual/index.html but feel free to come back with a concrete problem.

  • Ant Build Fails on MacOS

    I am trying to build the latest SVN build on a MacOS 10.6 and it fails.  I've steps through the instructions from here:

    Also when I execute the 'source setup.sh' command in Terminal, I get the following:

  • J2ee.template ant build failed

    Hello,
    I am not sure why the following error that ant encountered while compiling with the init setting on java.class.path points to jboss-j2ee.jar file already. Believe the jboss-j2ee.jar file has the javax.jms.ConnectionFactory class included in the jar. Do I need other jar files?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Recompilation and ant build file

    Hi, all
    I already set precompile to false in weblogic.xml. However, when we deploy, the JSPs are recompiled again claiming that they are stale. And we are using workshop ant build file. And I found out that the timestamps of compiled classes of JSPs are elder than JSP because the ant build copies the classes first to staging directory. See the following;
    <for-each-resource-path>
    <echo level="info" message=".resource.path= ${.resource.path}"/>
    <if>
    <available file="${.resource.path}"/>
    <then>
    <if>
    <isfile path="${.resource.path}"/>
    <then>
    <copy file="${.resource.path}" tofile="${staging.dir}/${.resource.prefix}"/>
    </then>
    <else>
    <copy todir="${staging.dir}/${.resource.prefix}">
    <fileset dir="${.resource.path}" includes="${.resource.include}" excludes="${.resource.exclude}"/>
    </copy>
    </else>
    </if>
    </then>
    </if>
    </for-each-resource-path>
    Is there any work-around to solve this? I don't want recompilation to occur again during deployment. Thanks in advance.
    Stephen

    First of all, why exactly do you care if it recompiles all the JSPs on deployment (precompile=true), even if it doesn't need to? This isn't a user experience problem, as all the pages would be compiled by the time a user referenced the page.
    If you want to avoid compiling JSPs on deployment, then have your build process compile the JSPs, include the generated servlet classes, and exclude the JSPs the generated classes were based on.

  • Ant - build failed

    Hi guys, I was using ant to build my servlet project but in vain. My build.xml contains the following taskdefs.
      <taskdef name="deploy" classname="org.apache.catalina.ant.DeployTask" />
      <taskdef name="list" classname="org.apache.catalina.ant.ListTask" />
      <taskdef name="reload" classname="org.apache.catalina.ant.ReloadTask" />
      <taskdef name="undeploy" classname="org.apache.catalina.ant.UndeployTask" /> I've copied the catalina-ant.jar to the $ANT_HOME/lib folder as instructed. I could actually run ant on the same build.xml file yesterday, but not today unfortunately. Here is the error message:

    I'm quite sure that everything was set properly. I put the catalina-ant.jar in $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext and that caused the problem. It's fine now after I removed the jar package.

  • Mxmlc ant  task with Groovy and ant builder

    Hi,
    i'm doing some Groovy scripting in the build scripts of my project and among the other things have included Flex sources compilation in there. It cares about auto-compilation of source trees so maybe someone will be interested in that:
    http://tech4web.blogspot.com/2008/12/mxmlc-ant-flex-task-in-groovy.html
    Cheers,
    Piotr

    Are you using Adobe FlexAnt?
    On this
    page
    , there is a <compiler.library-path> node that seems to
    import a bundle directory that contains locales. I believe
    <compiler.library-path> is from FlexAnt, so you would need to
    enable it if you haven't.
    Also look on the next page from the link I posted, there is
    another example on how to import bundles in an automation.

  • Installed kb2990942 Last night and now build fails

    kb2990942 was automatically installed last night, and in that the System.Web.Mvc dll was updated from version 3.0.0.0 to 3.0.0.1.  This caused my builds to fail.  I believe this will happen to all the MVC 4 and 5 projects as well.
    I can update the reference, but if I do that, locally it works, but the build machines fail.  If I install kb2990942 on the build machines (they are on a different patch schedule), then the other builds that run on there will be broken.
    Was there a reason the version changed?
    Is there a way to make it so the build will work with either 3.0.0.0 or 3.0.0.1 installed?
    This seems to be shortsighted on the part of MS that would require every build machine and project to be updated.

    Hello,
    This seems to be a problem with the windows update, maybe it's a bug, but it's not related to Visual C#. I'm moving it to [where is the forum for...] where the moderator will direct you to the right forum.

  • Problem with Exported ant build script(WLS 8.1SP4) working with IBMJDK1.4.2

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the exported ant script from wls workshop for building the process application.But i am using IBM JDK 1.4.2 in AIX 5.2 box.
    IBM has disintegrated the rt.jar by SUN into a number of other jar files.When i run the ant script, i have a problem like,
    <b>classpath error:unable to find required rt.jar</b>
    error and the build fails with
    <b>noClassDefFoundError:org.apache/crimson/tree/XmlDocument</b>
    I tried adding <b>rt.jar</b> into the classpath forcibly but it did not work out.
    The ear file is built and packaged but the build fails.+
    Do we have a fix for this either by bea or IBM?
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Hi
    This is a known issue addressed by CR205204
    As you said, IBM actually does not have rt.jar in its JDK - they have moved contents of rt.jar into various jars.
    IBM is not using org/apache/crimson/tree/ in their JDK at all.So the error shows up in the end of build even if it succeeds
    You may need to add crimson.jar to wlwBuild classpath, since it is not part of IBMs JDK.
    Note: the build will work even w/o crimson.jar giving a non build related IDE exception in the very end.
    Thanks
    Vimala

  • JDev9033, SQLJ and Ant

    Hi, can anybody help me with this?
    In this project we use JDev9033, JDK1.4.2_02, SQLJ, Ant1.54 and Oracle 9.2.0.1 client. Now I have a problem integrating OJC and Ant, since we want to use Ant from within JDev to build the project.
    I have set up the paths and class paths according to Oracle 9i SQLJ Developers Guide (Release 2). If I compile from JDev without Ant, JDev compiles the projects *.java and *.sqlj classes corretly.
    I have set the build.properties and build.xml file according to the paths specified in the build.xml file, which JDev can generate for me. And I have included jdev.jar and ojc.jar in the class path.
    Any way I get the exception with the -debug flag set i Ant:
    BUILD FAILED

    In build.properties I have:

    source="1.4"
    target="1.4"
    deprecation="on"
    optimize="off"
    debug="on"
    optimize=off
    and in build.xml:
    <javac
    compiler="${compiler}"
    srcdir="${comp.dir}"
    destdir="${build.dir}"
    includes="**/*.java, **/*TEST*.java, **/Test*.java"
    >
    <classpath refid="classpath" />
    </javac>
    with classpath:
    <path id="classpath">

    <include name="*.jar" />
    </fileset>
    <fileset dir="${jdev.home}/sqlj/lib" >

    </fileset>

    <pathelement location="${jdev.home}/jdev/lib/ojc.jar" />
    <pathelement location="${ora.home}/jdbc/lib/ojdbc14.jar" />
    <pathelement location="${ant.path}/optional.jar"/>
    <pathelement location="${junit.path}/junit.jar" />
    </path>
    Regards
    Flemming

    Matthew,
    Thank for your replies. I manages to get rid of the Ant error by using the first method. I would expect the second to work to.
    I do not expect the OjcAdapter to translate the sqlj files into java files. I have read those chapters in the SQLJ Developers Guide.
    I would like to do obtain is the following:
    1) Use Ant as build system. I do not care, if Ant is external or internal to JDeveloper since both version are 1.5.3. But we have a lot of other steps like ftp to development server, running JUnit, updating CVS and VSS, documentation and so on, so I need Ant to make one build file that every body in the project can use.
    2) Use jre/sdk 1.4.2, sqlj and Oracle client 9.2.0. So I have to translate the projects sqlj files to x.generate.java files before I pass all projects files to a Java compiler.
    3) I tried to build an Ant precompile task in this way:
    a) copy all java and sqlj files from src directory to compile directory.
    b) From the Ant task run the sqlj translator on the compile directory
    c) pass the translated files to javac or ojc
    Since I can translate and compile the project with jdsk1.4.2 from the Jdev Make/Recompile menu point I assume I should be able to write Ant tasks to behave as I have want it to.

  • ANT Build Module Project

    I have a project that has multiple modules, as well as a couple of external libraries that we use.  I'm trying to use sdk 4.1 and ANT builder to get the same build that I get with Flex Builder.
    I can build the applicaiton, css, and modules, but I have not figured out how to take the existing swc's and compile them into a swf.  It appears compc compiles a library project, but I don't see anything that compiles a library to a swf.
    Also, when I use ANT, the module is larger in size, and all the modules are smaller.  Is there any way to export the build and make sure I'm getting the same thing?
    Thanks.

    the mxmlc utility and Ant class will compile into SWF.
    Inside FB, you can specify optimization of modules for a specific core application. This means that any class referenced in the core is omited from the modules (because the modules can get the class definition from the core at runtime).
    For the command-line compilers and ANT, you have to supply the list of classes to omit. The SWF compiler will generate this exact list, so it is mostly a matter of pointing the module compilation at the output of the core SWF compilation.

  • Teststand deployment build fails with dll dependency

    Hi guys,
         I am struggling with test stand deployment  for 3 days. hope somebody can help.  ( I am using teststand 4.0 nd labview 8.5 and .net 2.0)
         I have sequence files, with many subVi' s and .net assmeblies with dependancies, added to  workspace , and when i run the sequence file, it works fine.
      Specifically,  the sequence file  calls many Vi's, some of which use the .net assembly  from "C:\program files\National instruments\labview 8.5\use.lib" ( and not specifically from the folder where the Vi resides), and still it works.
       However, when i build ths same using deployment utility (figure 1),  these assemblies and other go to    "\\installation directory\data"  and  the build fails(figure 2), as  the  "property node  " for the .net assembly( build using  c# public static class) gets invalid( figure 3).
    Figure 2:
    Figure3:
    Now,   the same VI  in  different  folder ( C:\development...) is able to reference the assembly from   "C:\program files\National instruments\labview 8.5\use.lib"( I had added the refernce from labview project initially from different location, but after copying the file to this location, VI's still worked)  and works fine (figure 4).
                                              Figure 4:
    I have tried adding   "\\installation directory\data"   Teststand search directory, but no luck.
    I have following questions:
    is it manadatory to keep the dl's and their dependencies in the same folder, in which VI's use them, for sucessful build  through deployment ? if yes, by default, these would go to "\\installation directory\data", which is different from "installation directory\...VI directory\   , and would not work still?
    it is mandatory to add the VI's that use .net assemblies to labview project, for sucessful deployment?  if yes, how do we add a  labview project to testsand workspace?
    If the assembly can be added to Global assembly cache, would this solve the problem of 'unsucessfull build" of installer , and even if it does, how can (a) I add the assembly to GAC on development system  (b) make sure that installer installs the assembly to GAC on deployed system (through deployment utility)?
    other than above, does anybody have other  solution to  my problem?
    I am already late for deployment of project to customers, and need immediate help.
    Thanks

    Hi Jon.
    Thanks for replying.  The .net assembly was created  in visual studio, by different engineer.  I tried  using  'c:\prog fil\nat inst\labview 8.5\user.lib' as the source path, and  keeping  destination to   (1)  \\target\data  (2) \\target\subVI location that uses this  assembly  (3) \\lNI directory\\labview8.5\user.lib.
    all of thse did not help.
    Anyways, I asked my colleague to change the .net assembly, so that one of the VI that was using property node, now, just uses 'invoke node" ( and source dll was changed by using c# method instead of property to achive same result)n and then, I rebuild the deployment choosing source and deployment paths as above. none of them worked, except when i choose deployment to be  "\\target\subVI" location that uses this  assembly .
    So, this works and I was satisfied.  However, after deploying, I run into strange problem.
    ( pleas note that I just created 1 seqeunce file out of 5, that are part of the worskpace,rest everything was done by a guy 8 years back, and although I am well versed with labview, teststand is new to me).
     When I run the test on bhild machine, before any of the sequence file executes, a dialog box opens as below:
    Once thse values get populated, then steps in the chosen sequence file execute.  I found that this  is done by a VI  , that might be called by some of the sequence file or by some Testsand directory( which I don't know , as I did not create it). Vi is shown  below:
    However, when i deploy the test, on the deployment machine, as I run the test,  it does not complain about any missing .dll or broken VI's, but the dialog box disappears, just does not come up.
    As you can see, the only thing i changed from previous deployment was adding following files in deployment : zoundshearingnet.dll and commifnet.dll for the .net deployment, and I do not beleive this should change the VI/VI call that loads the dialog box at the start.
    I am also exporting  the station globals and testexec.ini files as below:
    however, I do get warning in deployment:
    So, I have the following questions:
    1) does this warning have anything to do with the missing dialog box?
    2) as I understand, the VI that  flashes the dialog box at the start, use "sequence context" and then "start modal dialog".  I tried running the test on build machine, and pasue it, and then, run this VI. it fails on "start model dialog", but that could be because perhaps I am not supoposed to run ot this way? is there a way I could debug this Vi with teststand?
    3) Can i know, how is this VI called by testand and who calls it? If i start opening each sequence file, which have hundeders of VI's and subVI's, it will take me hours to do that.
    4) so, basically, the problem is that  when a sequence is run, a VI interacts with the sequenec and opens a dialog, which after deployment . fails to do so. are there any such examples that i could refer to, to help me understand how this works?
    Thanks

  • Error: DC Build Failed

    Hi,
    We are getting the following error when we try to build our DC. And the build fails.
    "Cannot determine used variant for used compartment ESMP_BUILDT. Using variant: default using compartment: SAMPLECOMPONENTS. Check if the expected usage dependency between the compartments exists."
    Could anybody provide some hints on dealing with this problem?
    In our dc if we try, we are not able to add dependency for dcs within ESMP_BUILDT since we do not get it as an option to be selected while adding dependencies.
    Regards,
    Anagha

    Hi,
    Thanks a lot for your reply. I appreciate your response. However the problem was that dependency was not added at the compartment (SC) level. Once I added that dependency, the dc could be built successfully. In fact the error message was quite clear but I misread it. On checking the depdndencies properly, the build was successful.

  • Running ant build scripts from cmd fails on Windows Server

    Hi all!
    I'm trying to build and package ME on a Windows Server calling the ant build script targets from cmd. This works fine on a Windows XP machine. On a Windows Server machine however the ant internal calls to nwcetool.bat are failing because -files are not found in DEPLOYARCHIVES. And these files are really not there although they should have been created by nwcetool.
    Does anyone have a clue why calling ant build script in cmd on a Windows XP machine will work but fails on Window Server?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Jwstutorial13 ant install build fail

    Hello again. I am still working on CH3 of the jwstutorial 13 on windowsxp home edition
    the build properties file is as follows:
    tutorial.home=C:/jwstutorial13
    tutorial.install=${tutorial.home}/jwstutorial13
    username=myusername
    password=mypassword
    host=localhost
    port=8080
    secure.port=8443
    url=http://${host}:${port}/manager
    ant build was successful
    ant install failed:

    HTTP response code: 401 for URL:http://localhost:8080/manager/install?path=%2Fgs&war=file%3AC%A2Fjwstutorial13%2Fjwstutorial13%jwstutorial13%2Fexamples%2Fgs%2Fbuild
    I checked out targets.xml at line 15 which appears to refer to the context and war files.
    I went through the tutorial and modified the build file. In the set up, i put all the required files in the path.
    i have gone through previous complaints about this in this forum and there have been many suggestions, but none of them have been specific to line 15 of the the targets.xml which appears to be concerned with the context and war files.
    any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

  • ANT Build script failing while generating junit style reports

    Hi,
    Actually I got an ANT build script which does the following:
    1) compiles AS code and generates swc
    2) generate AS docs
    3) compiles flex unit reports
    4) Generate wrappers
    the last part is getting the xml style reporting.
    here is the ant script for that part:

    [flexunit] Closing server on port [1024] ...
    BUILD FAILED
    I added CIlistener part in mxml also.
    import org.flexunit.listeners.CIListener;
    core.addListener(new CIListener());
    still getting the error.
    Any one can help on this.. The intent is to get the headless reports for flex application same as we do phantom/jasmine thing in javascript.
    Thank a lot

    Hi,
    Actually I got an ANT build script which does the following:
    1) compiles AS code and generates swc
    2) generate AS docs
    3) compiles flex unit reports
    4) Generate wrappers
    the last part is getting the xml style reporting.
    here is the ant script for that part:
    <target name="executeTestRunner" description="executes the test runner app">
                        <echo>Running Test Runner SWF</echo>
                        <flexunit swf="${Test.dir}/${TestRunner.name}.swf"
                                  toDir="${FlexUnitReport.dir}"
                                  haltonfailure="false"
                                  verbose="true"
                                  localTrusted="true"/>
                        <echo>Ran Test Runner SWF</echo>
                        <echo>Generate Readable Tests</echo>
                        <junitreport todir="${FlexUnitReport.dir}">
                                  <fileset dir="${FlexUnitReport.dir}">
                                            <include name="Test-*.xml"/>
                                  </fileset>
                                  <report format="frames" todir="${FlexUnitReport.dir}/html"/>
                        </junitreport>
                        <echo>Generated Readable Tests</echo>
              </target>
    I got this error after running:
