JDK download

Hi,
I use Java since 10 years. I am a known actor in java wide technologies and Open source training and SI architectures. And less known but still in development
When Sun was living, it was not easy to find it lol but when you were on the page no problem. Since acquisition, it is really a boring work to get the 1st stack of Open Source world: JDK. So since years I don't go on Oracle website to get it. 01net, download.com, even (what a shame and adware fishing) softsonic and try to keep my precious acquisition in several locations for several OS. In fact I hate having to register to get what is the most essential to community, as I would be in rage having to give my ID card to get a glass of water. During little time, at least, you had to quote or click "no thanks, go to download" to get it.
Today I had to download it again and tried Oracle: check accept download, sentence "you can download blabla" apperas, click download, Unothorized request page saying "sorry you must accept ONG blabla". Go back, check accept licence, verify the sentence "you can now download blabla", click link, Unothorized request page "you must accept ONG, cookie and javascript" (ok they are active only your site doesn't know about it), tried with another browser, same shit. Found an old existing account, of course with only fake informations, connect. Aaaah ! 30mn to download new JDK version.
3 answers possible:
1. create an account, connect and don't mess forum
2. yes many people have problem with it. We will give fast and easy access to that essential stack of Open source communities
3. plz share on p2p
I would prefer 2nd because it's really a shame.having to share on p2p something which is already supposed to be shared
So it could be like a vote, which one is best for you ?
Best regards

  • MD5 checksum to check JDK download

    Hello, everybody!
I would like to check my JDK downloads with MD5. Does Sun provide something like this? When I download a new JDK update I see nothing related to this in the download page. I think it's critical to check the integrity of a JDK download.
    Thank you.
    Marcos

I don't know about any MD5 checksums for the JDK (except for the OpenJDK).
But I think most installation packages do some internal consistency checks. If I remember correctly the Windows installer does, the Linux self-extracting shell script does and I'd be surprised if the .rpm format doesn't have some built-in checks.

  • JDK  download problem.

    HI everyone.
I have just spent a couple of hours down loading JDK and when I try to open it i get this error report:
    error reading setup initialization file.
How can I fix this, any hints welcome?

This sounds like either a corrupted download or old installation files.
    Corrupted Download
Since you said it took a few hours I'd assume you're on a slow internet connection. Try using a download manager like Flashget to download it rather than IE/Firefox. Then try running it again. In addition I suggest you also remove your temporary files, as outlined below.
    Old Installation Files
I assume you're on windows, so in "My Computer", right-click on your harddrive and select "properties". There should be a button near the bottom that is called "Disk Cleanup". Click on it.
    Select the following options:
    Downloaded Program Files
    Temporary Internet Files
    Recycle Bin
    Temporary Files
    WebClient/Publisher Temporary Files
Make sure "Compress Old Files" is -not- selected and then click OK and "Yes" at the prompt. Then try running the installer again.

  • JDK download doesn't work.

    Hi,
    I can´t download these
    http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u1-b08/jdk-7u1-windows-i586.exe or this
    http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/6u29-b11/jdk-6u29-windows-i586.exe or this
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/jdk/6u24-b07//jdk-6u24-windows-i586.exe .....
I can´t download anything. I need to install a JDK in my PC for my job and i can´t. I can´t believe it

    Hello 898112,
Sorry to hear that you ran into some issues downloading.
I just tried to download these and was able to download the first two:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u1-b08/jdk-7u1-windows-i586.exe
    http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/6u29-b11/jdk-6u29-windows-i586.exe
The third I was able to download after logging in:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/jdk/6u24-b07//jdk-6u24-windows-i586.exe
If you notice the 'otn-pub', these do not require login, while the 'otn' directory does. The files you need to login to download are files that are in the Archive area.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/archive-139210.html
Downloading these releases requires an oracle.com account. If you don't have an oracle.com account you can use the links on the top of this page to learn more about it and register for one for free.
If you are still not able to download please provide information about the error your are seeing and if you were logged in with your OTN login for the third file.

  • Can't find downloads for JDK 6u33

On the main JDK download page, the current update for JDK6 is u34.
On the previous versions page, the versions only go up to u32.
    Where can I find u33??
    Thanks!

This version has now been added to the normal jdk6 previous version downloads page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase6-419409.html
Thanks to everyone who looked into this!

  • Download error for jdk 1.4

when the download reach 32.2 mb the downloading was discontinued because of downloading error from download site. I tried it the 2nd time same problem.
    edramos1

Well I have Win2000. I am trying to download the JDK 1.4 API, but it gets to about 85% and then thinks its done. The file size is only 30MB, not 37MB. I have Zone Alarm running and will disable it and try again, but I have succesfully downloaded other JDKs with it running and they downloaded fine. I also tried to use Netzip, so if the download failed, I could resume rather than start all over again. Netzip connects and downloads nothing and immediatley comes back and says download was successful. Net zip worked with other JDK downloads , but the 1.4 seems to be giving it a headache.
Anyone else still not having luck. I have tried 3 times. I'll try without zone alarm running and see if that helps.

  • Unable to download the Java 6 JDK API documentation

    Hi,
now that all the stuff is on Oracle, I'm unable to download the Java 6 API documentation for offline use. NetBeans (an Oracle product after all) requires a local copy to show JavaDoc with code completion.
Is anyone able to point me to the correct download location? I've browsed the new JDK download page many times and haven't found it.
    Thank you.

    What about [here?|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javaee/documentation/apis-139520.html]
It wasn't that hard to find.
Oops, the requirement wasn't for java ee.

  • Unable to locate unrestricted policy files for the Sun JCE for download

    My platform:
    java version "1.6.0_26"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
Oracle JRockit(R) (build R28.1.4-7-144370-1.6.0_26-20110617-2130-windows-x86_64, compiled mode)
I am unable to locate the Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction JCE files.
According to BouncyCastle for Java 1.6:
..."you must download the unrestricted policy files for the Sun JCE if you want the provider to work properly. The policy files can be found at the same place as the JDK download. Further information on this can be found in the Sun documentation on the JCE."

The version at the very bottom of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html should work.

  • Confused about what to download

    Hi all,
I am getting back into Java after 5 years and am totally at a loss as to how to set up my environment and what I really need.
I am trying to download the j2EE SDK and I am offered the following choices:
Java Application Platform SDK Update 2
Java EE 5 SDK Update 2
    Download the Components Independently
and under each choice, I am given the following options:
    Download
    Download with JDK
    Download with Tools
I downloaded the "Java EE 5 SDK Update 2" using the "Download with JDK" option" but when the time came to set my "Java_Home" variable, I have no clue as to what directory to set it to. The software was downloaded under c:\sun\sdk. whereas all the forums online show that the JAVA_HOME variable should be set to something like "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02".
What am I doing wrong? The Sun naming convention has me totally confused to say the least. Can someone please shed some light on this? Thanks!
    KD

Sorry that this isn't clearer. Welcome back to Java, by the way!
Having downloaded and installed the "with JDK" option, you should find the JDK installed in a subdirectory under where you installed the Java EE SDK itself.
To be honest, it has been a long time since I installed that variant myself so I don't remember for sure what directory that'll be but if I recall correctly it'll be obvious at the first level below the installation directory.
