JEODE AND JMF

Hi
I am trying to run a client on IPAQ that would accept broadcast audio streams.
I tried JMF sample AVReceive3, but when I run it, it does not accept broadcast, only direct and even with direct, it throws exception when it is supposed to start playing.
The exception is
exception in thread: "JMF thread :com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine@6af(prefetchThread)", java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/sound/sampled/AudioFormat.
If anyone knows the solution to this, or another java based streaming audio library that would work with jdk 1.1.8 please let me know asap. Thanks so much for all your help

No reply yet????
PLease, anyone, I really need this.....
thanks

  • Is licence required for implementing JavaTv and JMF.

    Hi,,
I am trying to develop GEM middleware for my STB,
The STB has OS20 as RTOS and implemented on an ST chip
This GEM is DVB MHP minus DVB.
We have to implement JavaTV package and JMF for that,
But do we have to pay any royalty to SUN for implementing the JavaTV or JMF packages or can we implement the binary versions of the packages.
Please letme know how to implement the following packages
    org.havic.*
    org.davic.*
    javax.tv.*
    org.dvb.*
    and JMF?

    Hi Rohit,
let me also add a few words. In principle the process Sales Order Processing B2B with ERP sales order in CRM Web Channel means that you setup (a) Web shop(s) that use and display the CRM product catalog but create orders directly in SAP ERP without first creating them in SAP CRM. It also allows to use certain E-Marketing features of CRM in the Web shop. The CRM product catalog in this process can only be used if you do use the TREX. There is no way of directly call up the catalog from CRM in the Web shop by bypassing the TREX.
In the SAP E-Commerce for SAP ERP solution (ECO ERP) we in contrast offer the possibility to use the ERP catalog without the TREX. In this solution you can use the Memory Catalog which is not using the TREX. This solution by this way allows to directly use and display the ERP catalog and create orders directly in SAP ERP.
For the CRM catalog in contrast we do not have something similar to the Memory Catalog. Instead you DO need to use the TREX to display the CRM catalog in the Web shop.
The only option you have to "avoid" the TREX i a CRM web shop is what Easwar and Christoph have written about: The usage of an external catalog from a 3rd party catalog engine via the Open Catalog Interface (OCI) in the CRM Web shop. This we do offer for the CRM Web shop. However if you do not have an external catalog engine and want to use the CRM catalog then again you do need to use the TREX. It does not matter if you do not want to use product search nor prices other than fro ERP sales order.

    Hi to All,
I want to make a Caller Tone Application for Cisco IP phone.
For that application I am using JTAPI and JMF.
I am new to this two technologies.
Can somebody help me for how to accomplish this?
    ---Ashish

    Hi Jerry,
You can run analog input and counter tasks concurrently.  You can start them using software timing basically at the same time which may be fine for your needs and is the easiest to implement.  You also can use a hardware start trigger to start the tasks if you prefer.  It all depends on the level of synchronization you need.
You have not mentioned at what rate you will be acquiring data on your analog inputs.  The M Series PCI-6225 has 80 analog inputs and may suit your needs.  You will need to know what sampling rate you are trying to achieve.  Any M Series device will definitely give you the best value.
    Hope this helps!

  • Fedora 10 and JMF

    Hi All,
Does Fedora 10 and JMF combination work smoothly?. Which other Linux variants work smoothly with JMF apart from Red Hat Linux .

every linux distro i've installed, gets those errors.rh,suse,debian.
If you do not have a video capture device, you will get those errors.
Are you having framerate issues with webcam or video file??
If it is the webcam, it has nothing to do with your ati video drivers.
The slow frame rate from web cam would be your webcam drivers.
If it is video file frame rate, make sure you have codecs supported in jmf for that type of video.

  • Problems in sound capture and JMF deployment

    Hello:
    I am new to JMF.
I made an applet using JDK 1.3 on JBuilder 5. This applet captures and plays audio. When I run it through JBuilder's IDE, it runs fine. But when I run it independently, the applet's GUI appears but sound recording doesnn't work. Remember that I have JRE1.4.2 and JMF2.1.1e installed on my machine.
When I installed JMF, I enabled the recording, and file writing options for an applet.
To further check the problem, I ran it through JMF debugger. There I found that it says that ,
    <permission javax.sound.sampled.AudioPermission "record";> is not enabled.
To enable it I added this entry in java.policy. This allowed the audio capture to work.
    But my question is,
    1. Why isn't this entry present by default in java.policy?
    2. Even one of my user entered this entry in java.policy, but was unable to capture audio.
    3. I want my applet to be running with different users having different versions of JRE,JMF and browser settings. How can I do this, without asking my user to do anything? I simply want that when my user downloads this applet, I should provide him with some installation file that installs JMF as well as configures everything on the system in a way that he can use this applet easily.
Haven't you guys faced such problems in deploying JMF stuff?
I'll be grateful for any help.
    Thanks
    Jami

    Hi.
I am facing very similar problems: it looks like deploying JMF with Java Applets is really a challange!
On my own test installation, if I enable audio capture and file writing for applets through the JMFRegistry, then I am able to record audio from my test applet, even when executed in the target web browser.
Nevertheless, how to deploy the applet in such a way clients won't be required to manually install JMF and enable audio capture and file writing through the JMFRegistry?
It looks like the JMF Customizer is able to produce a custom JAR also embedding user preferences for audio capture from applets and file writing , is this correct?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Marco.

  • Swing and jmf

can u please have a look to the attached file
i know that this involves the jmf API but I have the feeling that has to do more with swing, thats whay I post my question here
this simple application is based on the MDI.java example of the jmf web
    pages
I also added a slider and want to set the playback rate for the player from
    there if possible
that is I want everytime that I move the slider and the value is biggerthan
50 the rate to be reduced according to a simple calculation that converts
the slider value to a value between 0 an1 for the rate...
so all i want to do is pass the slider value to the player everytime that
the slider changes value and this is bigger than 50
the attached file can do that only when the player starts playing the
    file,,,,
after the player has started and the rate is set I cant change it even if
    the slider moves
when I tried to do that from within the stateChanged method of the slider I
was getting a Nullpointer exception because of the EventDispatching thread,
so I thought to take this piece of code out of there (create the setnewrate
method in the jmframe instead),,,,but then of course doesnt work like I
    would want,,,,,
do I have to register the class that implements the frame for the player as
a ChangeListener on the slider to achieve that, is something like that
    possible....
I know that swing is not supposed to be thread safe, so maybe this is what
the problem is after all...any suggestions to that direction?
Can u please have a look??
I am a beginner so any help would really be very much appreciated
    thanx :)
    maria

I may be having similar problems
I have an JMF application running under webstart. It runs ok in Java 1.3
Now I am trying to get ti to run under Java 1.4. The attached error is rather useless,
but by guess at what is happening is that the JMF control has some .awt. stuff included
but that Java 1.4 emulates .awt. in swing. But something was not set and the default does not
    work.
This error messages does not appear in the 1.3 run

The problem is, that after installing the Java Media Framework and running the jmfinit Programm, the jmfinit programm shows these errors:
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 0
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 1
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 2
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 3
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 4
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 5
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 6
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 7
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 8
    java.lang.Error: Can't open video card 9
The video framerate is also very slow and I think, that this has to do with these errors.
I've installed the latest ATI FGLRX driver for my ATI Radeon X800 and these errors also occured.
I also have only JavaSound Capture in the capture device list, but I'm using ALSA for playing music in Linux.
If anyone gets JMF running under SuSE Linux 10 without these errors and a good video frame rate, please tell me.
If you also have a good instruction fr installing JMF under SuSE please tell me too.
    Thanks, thomas

every linux distro i've installed, gets those errors.rh,suse,debian.

  • Video Streaming with JSP and JMF.

Hi. I have this problem. I'm projecting (not building yet) a system. In this system i have a Local Computer, a server, and a Web Page (JSP). The Local Computer is going to capture video from a WebCam with JMF. This videos is going to be passed to the server by RTP Control. A Web Page (JSP) is gonna acess the server to get this video and show it (Real Time Streaming).
My doubt is, how I can do that on JSP ? How i can get the video from server (remebering that this one is getting the video from the local computer) and show it in my page ?

    no one ????

  • Filelocking and JMF player

    Hello,
I am making a JMF player. However it is my requirement that while the video is being played, the video file may not be copied (through windows explorer) to some other location. I understand there are filelocking capabilities in Java. However those require that the file be opened using a FileInputStream and then access is only permitted through that stream. However JMF player do not take the stream as input. So how do I go about doing this. Please Help
    Thanks,
    Mohit

That is a very odd requirement for a player. It seems you want to throw in abilities normally found in a file manager app. (or something of that nature).
..I understand there are filelocking capabilities in Java. However those require that the file be opened using a FileInputStream and then access is only permitted through that stream. Are you sure about that? I am not that experienced with FIS and file locking abilities, but it surprises me that a FIS would do that. And as an aside, ultimately the player would probably turn a File into a FIS, if that is the case, and FIS locks the File, the job is done automatically.
BTW - please put a couple of spaces between each and every sentence. Putting the spaces helps the reader to quickly scan the text, looking for questions(1) and ways to help. You would not want to make it harder to help, would you?
..However JMF player do not take the stream as input.Off the top of my head. How about this? Use the FIS to create a copy of the file in the java.io.tempdir, then run the player using the temporary file.
..So how do I go about doing this.1) Is that a question? If so, please don't forget to add a question mark, for the same reasons as putting spaces between sentences.
..Please HelpThere is not need to ask people to help. If they want to help and are capable of doing so, they will help. If not, then no amount of pleading will change that. Also, it makes you appear 'needy', which is something that discourages people from even trying to help in the first place.

  • Jeode and CDC RMI optional package?

Does anybody know if Jeode implements the RMI optional package specification for J2ME Personal Profile 1.0? If they don't, is there any alternative to Jeode that does? Also, have they implemented the JDBC optional package?

WSDD contains a beta version of the RMI optional package with the certified one awaiting submission to the web updates (Eclipse way for getting new features).
The JDBC optional package (JSR-169) has not submitted a final spec, RI or TCK and therefore IBM cannot provide an implementation. Once a TCK is available there will likely be and implementation and a driver from the DB2 group.
