JMS Queue loosing messages on Server restart

Hi ,
We are having a problem with a queue that is loosing pending messages if the server is restarted.
We have following setup of Oracle Weblogic version 9.2 mp1.
The JMS Server is backed up by a DB based persistent store.we are having a message driven bean that process the message in the queue asynchronously.
the message that is delivered to the queue has Delivery Mode 'persistent'
and the mdb using transactionType=MessageDriven.MessageDrivenTransactionType.CONTAINER.
What is strange that we are loosing pending message in the queue , when server is restarted .even checking in the xxx'_WLSSTORE table in db i can see the message
was persisted.
If anyone of you have seen this situation kindly let me know.
thanks in advance.
Rgds

  • Make jms queue forward messages to a proxy service

    Greetings!
    Here's my task. I have a pretty complex proxy service that routes the message to different web services. This proxy has a conditional branch. Now, what I needed to do was implement a JMS queue and fuse it with my proxy. I have successfully created a proxy and a business service that send messages to the JMS queue. However, the queue doesn't forward the messages to my routing proxy. My guess is that when the queue tries to send the message to my proxy, it encounters a conditional branch and doesn't know which branch to use. I have tried to put a log action in the default branch to determine if the message ends up there, but it doesn't.
    If anyone knows a way to forward messages from a JMS queue to a proxy with a conditional branch, please advise a solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

    Hello Andrew,
    To communicate with JMS (either to poll JMS for dequing messages or to connect to JMS to enqueue a message), you have to use JMS transport in Oracle Service Bus.
    I am still not sure if this would have worked had I left the conditional branch in my Message Flow.It will work. You may try configuring it.
    Could you please be more specific as to where I can enable message tracking for my proxy service?You may enable message tracing in "Operational Settings" of a particular proxy/business service. Please refer sections "Configuring Operational Settings for Proxy Services" and "Configuring Operational Settings for Business Services" on below link to know more -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/consolehelp/monitoring.html#wp1028056
    Should it be enabled for a specific proxy service or for all of them?You may enable it for all or for a particular service. It depends on requirement.

  • Why WSUS installation on WS2012 R2 fails with message indicating server restart required?

    Dear all,
    I've trying to install WSUS server role on WS 2012 R2 standard. Server is domain joined, and local SQL server (SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP3) installed. This SQL server is to host the WSUS database.
    WS 2012 R2 is fully patched. Nothing else is installed on this server except SQL server mentioned above. I initiate WSUS role installation, specify that WIS is not required, rather WSUS database is required, database connection to locally installed SQL server
    is established; which succeeds without any problem, but when wizard starts WSUS role installation it continues to fail over and over. It indicates in server manager task view that role installation failed because the server require restart.
    I restarted server several times, repeated the process but this continues to behave like this.
    Why WSUS installation on server fails repeatedly?
    Why log should be examined or any other dependency is missing here?
    Please advise.
    Regards,

    Hello Steven,
    Thanks for the input, in fact I did mention server name to pick SQL server instance from, since the only instance configured is default instance locally on the server where I'm trying to install WSUS on.
    When Add Roles/Features selection wizard gets to WSUS configuration; it asks for location where updates will be stored, next it asks to connect to SQL server to use for SUS database; that's where I specify local server's host name (in my case HQCAS) and
    click "Check connection" this succeeds without any error.
    All these steps proceed without any problem, but later on, WSUS role installation fails. I also checked CBS.log file; but it didn't give any specific clues? The only message I receive is that role installation requires server restart.
    I reboot server; start all over, but the behavior remains the same. Since WSUS role did not get install in the first place, it won't be possible to check event viewer for WSUS related events. Moreover...wsusutil.exe tool will also be not available until
    after successful install.
    I couldn't reach any post deployment. Had a look at that link you forwarded, the
    update mentioned in below area also doesn't apply since I specify the local server's host name and then click "Check connection". This steps goes without any error.  Any other insight would be greatly appreciated.

  • Cleanup JMS queue/topic messages

              how do I clean up all messages left on a queue/topic ? thx.

    There is no purge command.
              In 8.1, delete and recreate the destination via the console,
              JMX, or extensions.JMSHelper, the JMS
              server doesn't even need to be booted. A timestamp
              in the destination configuration is automatically set to
              let JMS detect that the destination is a new version.
              In 7.0, delete the queue, shutdown the JMS server,
              reboot the JMS server, and then recreate the destination.
              In any version, shutting down the JMS server will delete
              non-persistent messages.
              You can delete topic subscriptions via the console.
              You can write a simple JMS client to drain the destination
              by consuming messages. (Multi-thread multiple consumers to
              speed this up considerably.)

  • Loosing messages after application restart..?

    I am relatively new to JMS and face a problem which I don't quite understand. I have an application that works with threads, and receives messages asynchroneously through message listeners.
    When I run the thing the first time, everything goes fine. All the messages are received as one should expect. However, when i then run the app a second time, only half or less of the messages are received, the others seem to get "lost".
    When I remove and add the queues with the j2eeadmin tool, everything works again - in the first run.
    Could anybody tell me, where my mistake might be? I.e., how can I ensure that after every start the application works consistently?
    I tried to close all the connections I use, but that didn't really help..
    Thanks alot for your help,
    Katrin.

    I'm sorry to say that we did not. The problem seemed to occur at random; sometimes I could reproduce it locally and other times I could not. I opened a support case and the engineer was unable to reproduce the problem at will, so we had no choice but to close the case and leave it unresolved. There is no doubt in my mind that a problem exists somewhere, but I don't know how to prove it without being able to consistently reproduce the symptoms.
              Our focus has since shifted away from durable subscribers so we are no longer actively monitoring this issue, but every now and then I do take a look at our logs and it seems as though the problem has mysteriously resolved itself over time. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but we have found that a number of problems that used to manifest themselves randomly have disappeared since we started using in-place redeployments rather than production style redeployments.
              Sorry I don't have any answers for you! If you are ever able to get to the bottom of this problem, please post your findings because I would definitely be interested in hearing them. Good luck!

  • JMS Queue in Weblogic Server

    Hi,
    We have created a Connection Factory and a JMS queue in the Weblogic Server and configured it for "Unit of Order" delivery mechanism.
    We have done the restart for the changes done. But the restart is not successful and it is throwing "NULL poniter Exception".
    Kindly provide any suggestion for this issue.
    Thanks,

  • BPEL not able to read JMS Queue defined on a remote Application Server

    We are trying to access a JMS queue (defined on an Oracle AS different from the SOA Suite AS) through BPEL and read the payload. When I am trying to read the JMS queue, somehow it is trying to get the queue information from my local application server and not going to the remote one.
    I have done the following setups on my local SOA Suite Enterprise manager for the queue connection factory. The adapter name is "eis/jms/XXXQueueAdapter"
    connectionFactoryLocation: jms/ESBSubscriberQueue
    factoryProperties:
    java.naming.factory.initial=oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory;java.naming.provider.url=opmn.ormi://hostname:port; java.naming.security.principal=oc4jadmin;java.naming.security.credentials=Password
    Where "hostname:port" is for the remote Application Server.
    On the BPEL side, I have created a connection for the Remote server in the Enterprise Manager. Then I have created a partnerlink using this connection. The OEMS is "File/Memory". The Destination Name is the Queue name on the Remote AS which I can browse. The JNDI name is "eis/jms/XXXQueueAdapter" (Which is the name of the connection I created on my local). Somehow when the BPEL process is run, it is trying to look for the JMS Queue on my local server.
    I have also used the Third Party option instead of Oracle AS with the same configuration and it does not work either.
    Any help would be really appreciated.

  • Issue in Synchronous OSB using Jms Queues in OSB11g

    Hi,
    I am working on building a synchronous OSB using the following steps.
    1)     Creating the Synchronous OSB Proxy Service which routes the message to the business service which in turn places a message in the Queue(inqueue) by populating the JMSCorrelationId and waits for the response message to consume from another queue.
    2)     A Composite(SOA) will consume the message from this Queue
    3)     It will do necessary transformation and Places it in another Queue (Say Response Queue).
    4)     OSB Business service waiting in Step 1 will receive the response from this response Queue.
    I used a sample Wsdl which has both request and response message types.
    I observed that the correlation ID is maintained properly from inqueue to response queue. But the message is not getting picked up by OSB from the response Queue
    Twist: It is working absolutely fine in OSB 10g but it is not working in OSB 11g.
    I tried using Messaging service as well as using the sample WSDL i.e keepiing the soap message in the queue. Both the cases are working absolutely fine OSB 10g but not in OSB 11g.
    Can anyone faced a similar issue or any pointers will be great help in this regard.
    Regards,
    Ashok

    To debug this further can you check if the response Q has any active consumers. ? When you use response by correlation ID business service, OSB actually creates MDB's with message selectors under the hood.
    This is a sample of the ejb-jar.xml of the MDB created for a business service with response by Correlation ID pattern.
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jav:ejb-jar xmlns:jav="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee">
    <jav:display-name>BEA ALSB JMS Outbound Sync-Async Endpoint</jav:display-name>
    <jav:enterprise-beans>
    <jav:message-driven>
    <jav:ejb-name>ResponseEJB-6577847719916437493-3893eeb7.1287d30ba4f.-7fe1</jav:ejb-name>
    <jav:ejb-class>com.bea.wli.sb.transports.jms.JmsAsyncResponseMDB</jav:ejb-class>
    <jav:transaction-type>Container</jav:transaction-type>
    <jav:message-destination-type>javax.jms.Queue</jav:message-destination-type>
    <jav:activation-config>
    *<jav:activation-config-property>*
    *<jav:activation-config-property-name>messageSelector</jav:activation-config-property-name>*
    *<jav:activation-config-property-value>JMSCorrelationID LIKE 'ID:424541534594cf52%'</jav:activation-config-property-value>*
    *</jav:activation-config-property>*
    </jav:activation-config>
    <jav:env-entry>
    <jav:env-entry-name>service-ref</jav:env-entry-name>
    <jav:env-entry-type>java.lang.String</jav:env-entry-type>
    <jav:env-entry-value>BusinessService$Test$RequestQ</jav:env-entry-value>
    </jav:env-entry>
    As you can see the message selector is based on JMSCorrelationID LIKE 'ID:424541534594cf52%'. This means the business service will pick only those messages which has its correlation ID starting with ID:424541534594cf52.
    You can see the message selector for your MDB from admin console --> deployments.
    Check and confirm if the correlation ID created in the request also starts with this value and the same is send back from the server. Also try deleting and recreating the business service or rename the business service which will create a new MDB under the hood and check the above.

  • Reg: Consuming missing data by JMS queue.

    Hi,
    System1 is configured to send XML messages though JMS queue to my WL-server. But some times i have observed missing of message consumption at my server end.
    what may be the reason? How can i consume the missing XML messages? is there any place where missing data will be stored?
    Please advise...!
    Regards,
    Sk

    When I meant there is an expiry time set with the message. It means the message is received by your WLS, but you are not able to see it because the message has expired.
    You can only view the messages that are not expired.
    If you think you are not even receiving the message, may be you can enable debugging on the WLS JMS and see if you are able to get more details in the server logs.
    Please refer - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/jms_admin/troubleshoot.html#wp1128871

  • Talking to WL JMS Queue via HTTP

    Hi,
    We have a web application running on weblogic server 6.1. We were able to talk (in our case, this involved sending it xml input) to this application through the weblogic JMS by hitting the JMS queue via a java program on the same box. What we need to do now is to talk to that same JMS queue using HTTP. In other words, be able to post an HTTP message from a different box to the JMS queue on this weblogic server.
    How do we do that? Please assume I know as little as possible.
    Thanks so much.
    Avraham

    One way to do this is to create a servlet that forwards the incoming HTTP message to the queue. In order to access a remote box you probably just need to package the JMS client library with the servlet's WAR file. In this setup, the servlet is basically a router between the HTTP side and the JMS side. You can also create a JAX-RPC web service if you want the HTTP input to follow a specific XML structure.

  • NoClassDefFoundError while accessing JMS Queue from JDev 10.1.3.3

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get a handle of a JMS queue, which resides on Oracle App Server 10.1.3.4, from a Java Program which I'm trying to run from JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.
    I'm trying to make an RMI connection to the App server from JDeveloper by passing following information to the intialContext:
    env.put("java.naming.factory.initial",
    "oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,
    "ormi://wafedabpelqa10.corp.weyer.pri:12402");
    env.put("java.naming.security.principal","oc4jadmin");
    env.put("java.naming.security.credentials","welcome1");
    Where the above information is related to our App Server.
    I'm successfully able to establish an RMI connection from JDev to Oracle App Server and can lookup datasources created on the App server using their
    JNDI names. However if I try to look up a JMS Queue from the App server using its JNDI name, I get an error as:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/tip/adapter/api/OracleConnectionFactory
    I have also tried to use the value "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory" for "java.naming.factory.initial",
    however I still get the same error.

    Hi,
    this should work and you need to download the rmi library http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/utilsoft.html

  • Defining/Creating a JMS Queue in XI

    Scenario: Third party system would post messages in XI Jms queue, the messages would ultimately be sent to SAP.
    Need to create this JMS queue in XI which receives Jms messages from third party.
    Steps done:
    1) Defined Sender Communication Channel 'CC_JMS'
    JNDILookup name:jmsfactory/default/QueueConnectionFactory
    JMSQueue:jmsqueues/default/JMS_queue
    initialcontextfactory:com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl

    2)Defined sender ID for the outbound interface in SXMSIF
    3) Added job(I've given the name, is it right?) in SXMb_Adm and Defined message filter for that job. activated.
    4)configured message filter for the above sender ID. Queue name XBT1
    5)when checked in adapter monitor for JMS_queue.Shows the following error message
      CC_JMS : Sender channel. Details: Object not found in lookup of JMS_Queue.

    Are you getting any exceptions in the code, or errors in the log, or is nothing happening when you know there's a message on the queue to be read?
    Are you perhaps reading from a distributed destination?
