JNI function name length exceeds linker support size?

hi,
JNI function names are Java_Package_classname_functionname. But i have a package+classname itself crossing 32 characters. i need to have more than one native function in the same class. so linker cannot distinguish these names. any workarounds?
thanx in advance

Hi,
I don't know of any way around JNI's name mangling rules, but pardon me for asking, the linker of what platform supports symbols with length <= 32 only these days?
Kind Regards,
Tobias

  • Column Name Length of Tables In ODI

    Hello Everyone,
    I am facing with an unique issue in ODI. We are using ODI AIA for Integration, which has default XML exports of some JD Edwards tables.
    These tables are automatically reversed and models are created using AIA, one such file is named Base.xml and is reversed as a Model named 'Base' in ODI. In this model there are various tables which are created on the basis of the contents of XML file. The column names are derived from XML Tags. Some XML tags are having length greater than 30. This does not create a problem in the model as such, but when using it as source in interface, the temporary tables that are created on-the-fly in a schema (Oracle) does not allow the length to be greater than 30 and hence the interface fails (error : Column name length exceeded), add to it, ODI suffixes column names with a Cnumber_. Since the XML file and tags are standard within the AIA, we cannot alter the length.
    So is there a way to reduce the column name length of temporary tables which are created at runtime by ODI based on the source XML files ?
    Thanks in advance,
    NJ

    If you are using temp table that are created on the fly, you can not control the column length, so you have only one alternative just change the column name (less than 30) in model level.
    Thanks

  • I'm getting a "The procedure entrypoint ssSr192x__ssSr192drvssSrReset could no be located in the dynamic link library ssSR192x.dll" because the ActiveX instrument driver DLL doesn't have the function names in the export table.

    Is there a way for my CVI project to reference the functions in the ActiveX without including the instrument .fp in the project?
    Thanks much.
    I'm confused on how CVI uses ActiveX components and hope someone can help.
    I'm using an ActiveX driver from an instrument manufacturer and I use the .TLB to generate a .fp, .c, and .h file. If I register the .dll and load the .fp in my project, all is well. Unfortunately in my application the functions to control this instrument are in another DLL whose .lib I include in my CVI projec
    t. Running the CVI project this way gives me "The procedure entrypoint ssSr192x__ssSr192drvssSrReset could no be located in the dynamic link library ssSR192x.dll" because the instrument function names aren't in the export table in the instrument DLL. Non-ActiveX DLLs have the export tables so everything works for them.
    Program structure with non-ActiveX DLLs:
    CVI project (.exe with common.lib in project list)
    |
    V
    Common DLL (MeasDMM() with hp1234.lib in project list)
    |
    V
    Instrument DLL (hp1234_measure())
    Since I get a .c and .h file from the .TLB, I've tried recompiling the DLL (.dll and .lib produced) and the functions seem to work, but I get "Class not registered" errors unless I play games with the registry so I'm obviously violating numerous Microsoft rules!
    Is there a way for my CVI project to reference the functions in the ActiveX without including the instrument .fp in the project? Thanks much.

    Hello Jeff,
    Where were your getting the .lib file for the ActiveX DLL? Did you use the "hp1234"
    ActiveX driver generated by the "Create ActiveX Automation Controller" CVI Tool to build a static library? If you open an include file and choose Options >> Generate DLL..., it will generate source code or a static import library to load the specified DLL and load functions specified in the include file (this only works if the functions are exported from a DLL). However, in the case of our ActiveX Automation Controllers, ActiveX calls are used to access a DLL. This means that you do not need an import library. You should be able to open the "hp1234" source file and click Options >> Create Object File. Simply #include "hp1234.h" and add "hp1234.obj" to your Common DLL project;
    the .fp file is not necessary. If this does not answer your questions or if you experience further difficulty, please post further details on what you are doing and the errors that are being encountered ("play games with the registry" and "recompiling 'the' DLL" are a bit vague in this case).

  • Bcp doesnt throw an error when the data length exceeds size of the column

    Hi,
    We are using bcp in SQL 2008 R2 to import the data from flat file. When the data length exceeds the size of the column, it doesn't throw any error instead it has ignored the row.
    Please suggest me how to truncate and load the data into table.
    Thanks,
    Pasha

    Hi Pasha,
    According to your description, you want to import the data from flat file to SQL Server table with truncated data in SQL Server 2008 R2. To achieve your requirement, we can use Import and Export wizard. For more details, please refer to the following steps:
    Launch SSMS by clicking SQL Server Management Studio from the Microsoft SQL Server program group.
    Right click on the destination database in the Object Explorer, select Tasks, then Import Data from the context menu to launch the Import Wizard.
    Choose Flat File Source as Data Source, then browser to the flat file.
    Choose SQL Server Native Client 10.0 as Destination, then select the destination database.
    Click Edit Mappings button to change column size or other properties.
    Finish the processing.
    For the example about how to use Import and Export wizard, please refer to the blog below:

  • Link options to hide function names

    We are looking for a better way to keep function names hidden in our executable. Strip is still leaving names we'd like to remove and using -Beliminate seems to remove everything including environment variable names we are passing from the shell, breaking Tcl scripts we use in conjunction with the app. Is there a way to tell the linker to strip functions and allow exported vars?
    Thanks!

    You can have fewer global symbols in the executable by restricting their scope. Refer to the C++ Users Guide, chapter 4, under Linker Scoping. You can get the same effect with a linker map file, but the source code extensions are usually more convenient.

  • SQL Azure Reporting - There was an exception running the extensions specified in the config file. --- Maximum request length exceeded.

    I am trying to deploy an RDL file (5MB) to SQL Azure Reporting server in South Central US using the deploy function in SQL Server Data Tools but facing the following error during deployment to Azure Reporting server.
    "There was an exception running the extensions specified in the config file. ---> Maximum request length exceeded."
    Is there any limit on the size of RDL files which can be deployed to Azure Reporting server? I have seen some online posts which talk about increasing the maxRequestLength in httpruntime of web.config in Reporting server. But in case of Azure Reporting server
    how can be make modification to this configuration?
    I have tried to upload it directly to SQL Azure Reporting server from the Management Portal --> Upload Report function which still resulted in error.

  • Exceeds data buffer size discarding this snmp request

    Morning
    Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.3 is sending SNMP request too big for asa interface buffer.
    LMS is running on Windows server
    incoming SNMP request (528 bytes) from IP address x.x.x.x  Port  50592  Interface "inside" exceeds data buffer size, discarding this SNMP  request.
    212005: incoming SNMP request (%d bytes) from %s exceeds data buffer size, discarding this SNMP request.
    It is very much like this error
    Error Message    %PIX-3-212005: incoming SNMP request (number bytes) on interface
    interface_name exceeds data buffer size, discarding this SNMP request.
    Explanation    This is an SNMP message. This message reports that the length of the incoming SNMP  request, destined for the firewall, exceeds the size of the internal data buffer (512 bytes) used for  storing the request during internal processing; therefore, the firewall is unable to process this request.  This does not affect the SNMP traffic passing through the firewall via any interface.
    Recommended Action    Have the SNMP management station resend the request with a shorter length,  for example, instead of querying multiple MIB variables in one request, try querying only one MIB  variable in a request. This may involve modifying the configuration of the SNMP manager software.
    how do I change the SNMP request size in LMS?
    I can only find the following that might be an option

  • Maximum request length exceeded

    I'm trying to upload a file to mobile services .NET backend, however I'm getting the error "Maximum request length exceeded". I tried increasing the limit in web.config file, but it only worked on the local version and still throws the error when
    published to Azure.
    As far as I understand the mobile services is ignoring the web.config file. So is there any other way to increase the upload limit?

    good news.. found a fix for this.
    it's actually the same fix for file uploads that exceed the default 4mb set by IIS. however, the change needs to made to the report manager web.config file and not the report server web.config file. that's why it didn't work for me the first time.
    here is an article that talks about it http://support.softartisans.com/kbview_825.aspx
    if you have kept the default installation directory, the file you edit is:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Web.config
    Just add the maxRequestLength property here and set a size appropriate to you. Not to large to discourage DoS attacks.
    The example below is 10mb
    <httpRuntime executionTimeout="9000"  maxRequestLength="10240"/>
    hope it helps.

  • Maximum Server Name Length

    I'm trying to determine if I can have names greater than 15 characters in both Windows server 2012 and AD. To be clear, we are not concerned with backwards compatibility with anything older than Windows 7/2008 R2, so NetBIOS is not a factor that I know of.
    I'm just wondering if using log server names will cause issues in AD, or from a stability/supportability standpoint.  Please advise.

    The maximum length of the host name and of the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) is 63 bytes per label and 255 bytes per FQDN. Note Windows does not permit computer names that exceed 15 characters, and
    you cannot specify a DNS host name that differs from the NETBIOS host name.

  • Domain name does not link to index page.

    Having a lot of difficulty publishing to FTP, have researched many forums and unable to find answers. Whether I publish to FTP via iWeb or Cyberduck, my domain name danbaileymusic.com shows a 403 Forbidden Error. However if i type in danbaileymusic.com/index or /music, ect it loads. The whole site functions fine, but the domain name does not link to the index page.
    In Cyberduck all permissions have been turned on. Also I noticed that when publishing to a local folder, iWeb creates a folder "danbailey" and an index.html. This index page does not work in Cyberduck, however the index page that is WITHIN the folder "danbailey" does work, but it doesn't link to the domain name.
    Please help! I've been working on this for weeks and cannot figure out why the domain name is not working!

    It only creates the page names with first letter capitalized (as in Index not index) I have tried changing it from the sidebar and from the Page Name in the Inspector -- typing "index" comes back as "Index" It's easy enough to change the "I" to an" i" at the file level (which did fix the problem) but doing this also breaks all the links I have to "Index.html" Fixing this on the creation side would be ideal. Thoughts?
    I am using iWeb '09 v.3.0.1 if that makes a difference

  • How to get the function name/ID  of the current page

    HI,
    I searched the forum and google, but it is not clear on how to get the function name of the current page.
    I have 4 functions in my self service A ,B,C,D (seeded page links ) they all have to go to a page called hhhPG. Based on which function user is clicks I have to show the data in hhhPG.
    so my question is how to get the function name ? I mean I need to know if user click on link A , B, C or D link and came to this page.
    I found below in one forum and also there is getfunctionID in pageContext , but I do not know what to pass to getfunctionid("???") to get value.
    FunctionSecurity funcSecurity = pageContext.getFunctionSecurity();
    Or is there a better way of know where user is coming from ? like geturl....
    Please help, I need this ASAP.
    Thank you.

    Use below to find out how the user came into the page
    FunctionSecurity funcSecurity = pageContext.getFunctionSecurity();
    boolean isFunc1 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME1"));
    boolean isFunc2 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME2"));
    boolean isFunc3 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME3"));
    boolean isFunc4 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME4"));
    So one of them will be true based on the function the user came in.
    Write your logic based on these flags.
    Regards,
    Peddi.

  • Module Function Name Resolution - Issues with DefaultCommandPrefix

    Just getting started on module development, running PS4, and I've run into an... inconsistency... that I'm trying to understand. I've got two test functions, Get-Something and Set-Something in a script module. In my manifest file I specify a DefaultCommandPrefix
    of 'Test'.
    My issue is the function name resolution doesn't result in an executable result if you leave PowerShell up to it's own process.
    To begin with I closed all sessions and deleted all files in the CommandAnalysis directory. After starting a session I waited for the CommandAnalysis cache to populate. Then I ran a series of test commands to illustrate how, most of the time, the function
    name PowerShell registers with tab completion can't be executed because it lacks the 'Test' prefix. Even worse, much of the time tab completion won't recognize the correct (i.e., with prefix) name of the function and honor tab completion for it.
    Having just learned of the CommandAnalysis cache I assumed I would see it change as PowerShell 'learned' more about the module because the name resolves differently over time. I've included three files at the end of this post, the module code (ModuleTest.psm1),
    the manifest (ModuleTest.psd1) and the capture of output to the PowerShell session (ModuleTest.txt). I've tried to include the times I used <tab> and <ret> for tab completion and execution as well as (comments in parenthesis for things I did like
    starting a new session and checking the CommandAnalysis cache for changes).
    An example is, when first starting a session typing 'get-som<tab>' will resolve to 'Get-Something' (prefix 'Test' missing) and typing 'get-test<tab>' won't resolve to 'Get-TestSomething'. Try to execute the 'Get-Something' from tab completion
    and you'll get the 'name not recognized, blah, blah'.
    Now if you type 'get-som<tab>' PowerShell will resolve to 'ModuleTest\Get-Something' - looks promising... but no.  Try to execute the 'ModuleTest\Get-Something' from tab completion and you'll still get the 'name not recognized, blah, blah'.
    Even though the same key strokes resolved differently there were no changes made to the CommandAnalysis cache so I'm lost on why it produces two different (though equally useless) results.
    Manually importing the module and sometimes running Get-Command -Module ModuleTest will make tab completion of the function names behave correctly. Is this a known issue with using DefaultCommandPrefix in script modules or is there something I need to include
    in the manifest to enforce strict name recognition (including the prefix)?

    Hi William,
    yes, that's something you'll either have to do the hard way or live with admin confusion.
    If you're using Sapien's PowerShell Studio as an Editor (hint: Usually a great idea), you can very easily rename a function, even in a multi-file module project, by rightcklicking on the function-name and selecting "rename".
    Alternatively you can do a bulk rename with Powershell:
    Get all functions in your module (Load it and check exportedcommands)
    loop over each function-name
    calculate new name
    search your entire project for all references and replace them.
    Let me see ...
    function Rename-ModulePrefix
    [CmdletBinding()]
    Param (
    [Parameter(Position = 0, Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $ModuleName,
    [Parameter(Position = 1, Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $OldPrefix,
    [Parameter(Position = 2, Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $NewPrefix,
    [Parameter(Position = 3)]
    [string]
    $Path
    # Catch all typos
    Import-Module $ModuleName -ErrorAction 'Stop'
    # Get root path if not manually passed
    if (-not $PSBoundParameters["Path"])
    $Path = (Get-Module $ModuleName).Path
    # Get module files
    $Files = Get-ChildItem -Path $path -Recurse -Include "*.ps1", "*.psm1", "*.psd1"
    # Iterate over each file
    foreach ($file in $Files)
    # Null variable in case you get an empty file somewhere and run this from Win 7
    $data = $null
    # Get Content of file
    $data = Get-Content $file
    # Replace strings
    foreach ($c in (Get-Module $ModuleName).ExportedCommands)
    $newName = $c.Name -replace $OldPrefix, $NewPrefix
    $data = $data | ForEach-Object { $_ -replace $c.Name, $newName }
    # Write back to file
    $data | Set-Content $file
    While I didn't proof it, in theory this should do it (Make a backup before running it :) ).
    Cheers,
    Fred
