Job Group & Description

Dear all,
I am creating the followings:
1) Create Business Unit (SCF Business Unit) and Operating Unit (OU SH)
2) I go to HR > Work Structures > Job > Description, the list of values in "Job Group" is not the name of Business Unit (SCF Business Unit). According to setup document, it should be the name of business unit.
Any ideas? very confusing.

There is a concept called 'Standard Job Group' which will be created automatically by the system when you define a Business Group.
So Jobs should be created under standard job group if you want to assign those jobs to employees.
The jobs which have been creatd under new (custom) job group can not be assigned for employees under assignment form. Reason, the jobs which have been created under new job group can be used as supplemental roles for HR Budgeting as part of approvals.

Is it possible to put a hyperlink in the Job Posting description in TAM. The entire Job posting description is retrieved from the Job Posting Index file which gets created running the delivered process (Verity Job Posting Index Build: HRS_JSCH_IDX). When i put the hyperlink in the Job posting description, it comes as a regular text. If anyone worked on this type of requirement, please let me know how to achieve this. To give an idea, below is what is required:

The Job Index is only for when the applicant does a search. When they are looking at the Job Openings before or after they have signed in it is not using the results of the job index build app engine so you can put the link on the page yourself.

How to include apostrophe in group description?

How can I include an apostrophe or single quote in a Portal group's description? I tried using 2 single quotes and / to no avail.
When I have an apostrophe in the group description, it displays as an upside down question mark (¿).
For example, setting a group description to "This is the group's description." displays as "This is the group¿s description.".

That does not work. It displays 4 single quotes.
Setting a group description to "This is the group''''s description." displays as "This is the group''''s description.".

Finding Profit center group description ?

Hi all,
I want profit center group description for my report, when i look at the setheader table i could see the description in the output but when i try to locate the field in the SE11 for SETHEADER i couldnt find that
field ? Can you people tel me how to solve this problem ?

How to get job ID/alias of jobs within a job group programatically

We are trying to automate the export of job group/job definition from tidal in xml file, we know that you can use REST API to get job definition as xml.
by using http://localhost:8080/api/tes-6.0/Job.get/<Job ID/alias>
but the problem is when you use it for group it does not tell you what are all the child of this job group.
here is the output you get from REST API

it gives you number of child in the group, but does not give further info like what are the JOb ID/alias of children.
we need this information to dynamically get job definition of all the jobs within a job group.

How to submit a job into a job group

Using job events/actions we occasionally need for a scheduled job to submit another job into the current schedule.
The issue here is that the submitted jobs go straight into the highest level view. We will need to do this for over 400
times in one night, and do not wish to flood the operators view, so are simply trying to find a way to submit it so that
it shows up within an already existing group. Any ideas?

                Jobaa- run
                Jobab – echo a blank file to a shared directory, example: /C "echo ''> \\USNPKETLP03\Infa_Shared\File_Inbound\zcmtyr_eu.csv
Job Group B
                Jobba – run dependent on zcmtyr_eu.csv being present. Use the check box, “rerun each time the dependencies are met”
                Jobbb – delete the echo file.

I think you can ou HRP1000 to get the job n job family.
Like You have a job number 40000001 , you go in HRP1000 , choose otype = JF and pass OBJID as 40000001 , this willl give you job family.
In order to get the text , you can use table HRP1001.

HCM 9.1 recruiting & RTF job posting descriptions

Good morning,
I've been looking at the 9.1 recruiting functionality with resumes and job posting descriptions; Recruiting now allows RTF information to be stored in the database. I'm finding that this will break a lot of integrations that are expecting plaintext in these fields. I wanted to ask whether anyone knows of any standard PC functions that would essentially strip out all of the [p], [br] and other tags from RTF text ? I think that this would be a tough ask to code as a function.

In fact, after testing a while after the fact, the strip HTML function specifically leaves the RTF tags alone. If anyone has worked this out, I'd be interested to hear it.

How to run a job group mult x per day M-F but only 1x on the weekend

I currently have a job group that runs M-F, repeating several times each day. I'd like to now have this same group also run on Sat and Sun only once for these days. Is this possible on a single job group configuration or must I create a 2nd copy of the group and apply a weekend calendar with no repeat? I'm trying to avoid copying the group because I assume any changes I make to the group I'd then have to make twice? One approach I'm trying to figure out is if I can trigger the group to run on Sat and Sun via variable trigger and hoping this will not cause it to repeat in this case?

What version are you running?
In 5.31, what I would do is to have the main set M-F then use a different job (like a cmd echo or powershell write-host) on weekends that inserts the MF set at the time you want with a job event \ job insert action. This would override the time and execute when you want (you could probably just use one for SAT, SUN). we do similar things to avoid maintenance windows.
You might lose any downstream dependecies if the original is in a nested group but that might even work with a slight modification to the job depdency with the match occurance check box (relative to group, otherwise, for day) option
It would be best if tidal let you add multiple calendars to one job, not sure if that is in the works but it should be on their radar.

I am looking for BADI or User Exit for Material Group Description.
My Scenariio is Whenever the user Enter in to MM01or MM02 in Basic Data 1 view Materail Group Field ,the user press F4 It is displaying material group number and corresponding Description.Those Description are in English because that materail group are created in English Longon Language,but the other language User Enter in to MM01 or MM02 Transaction in the basic data 1 view Press the F4 key for Materail Group it showing only material group number no description is displaying,but my requirement it should translate and show it to the corresponding longon language description when Press F4.Regarding this i maintaining other language description for the existing material group in a ZTable.
The table for Material Grop Description in all the language is T023T table.

If you wanna search for BADIs, you can follow this method:
go to SE80 transaction and select the class/interface CL_EXITHANDLER, then you have to select the Get_Instance method and put a break-point in the following call:

the value of exit_name will give you the name of the BADI that is been call from the transaction. Then you have to execute the transaction MM01 or MM02 and it will stop on each Badi's call.

I use V023 to get the material description, in se11, i can check those data dictionary, but i can't join V023 in ABAP, it shown the error message ""V023" is not defined in the ABAP Dictionary as a table, projection view, or database view.". How can i retrieve the material group description. Thanks!

Asking Again: Group Description Updated in Admin UI is not reflected in PowerShell and vice versa

I've updated the Groups Description (About Me) using the GUI / Website. Then running a script to output the Group's Description like:
$siteUrl = "site url"
$web = Get-SPWeb $siteUrl
$web.SiteGroups
$web.Dispose()
The description doesn't change. I can then update the Description of the group using PowerShell and close the window then and run the above code the changes are reflected. However, the GUI / Website doesn't have the changes. Very odd!

I want to put a formula field for grouping, but I want to display some text(description) in group drill down.
My group field is numeric and I want to display text on right side of drill down report.

In order to display a different group name you may try the below steps:
- Right click on the group and click on change Group option and then click on Options taband then check the box which says 'Customize Group Name Field'.
- Now either 'choose from existing field' or 'use a formula as group name' to display the group description.
This would help you to display the appropriate description for that field.

Accessing Group description in OBIEE?

I am using external file authentication which is populating the GROUP variable from our Peoplesoft security tables. I would like to display security level on the dashboard somewhere and I could do that using the GROUP session variable, but the codes are not very descriptive. Is there any way to get and display the description associated with the OBIEE group definition? Since we needed to define the groups in OBIEE, we added usable descriptions but I can't figure out how to display them.

I am not sure how one can access the group descriptions, but what you can do is have the descriptions stored in database along with the some variable names and the groups. Use a init block to load these descriptions into session variables using row wise initialization. Then use these session variables in your report to show the descriptions.
