Job in background and multiple spool requests

Hi everybody,
I'm executing a program in a background job. The program outputs 2 spool requests. When I get to SM37 t-code to see job's result, I can see at "Job Log" option that 2 spool requests were generated. But... when I press "Spool" option from SM37 t-code I only see the last one. In spite of this, when I get at the spool controller through SP01 t-code I can see both of them. Can you help me with this issue? Why from one place I get 1 request and from the other the 2 ones?

Answer: The step information is stored in table TBTCP. This has space for exactly one spool request (field LISTIDENT). If a step generates several spool requests during the processing, only one can be stored. In this case the application is responsible for a "spool overview".

I have one requirement to be completed , i need to send the out put of the report via mail in pdf format. for that what i did was, iam executing report in background and creating spool request and converting it to pdf and sending the file.
now the problem is, its a customer ledger report, for each customer i need to create a new spool request and send mail to that particular customer, now my dought is how to create multiple spool requests for a single pro and how i need to go about it.

As per my knowledge for creating new spool id you will have to set
output_options-tdnewid = 'X'.
and then using
job_output_info-spoolids
create a pdf using
call function 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'

Is it possible to have Multiple Spool requests in one batch job overview?

While running one of my z program in back ground, there are two spools generated (one by write statement and one by OPEN_FORM statement and both the spools are available in SP01 Transaction), but when i see the job overview in transaction SM37, I only see one spool request (that of the last spool request). Can any body in the group please tell me is it possible to see multiple spool requests in the job overview of one Abap program and if yes, how?

Thank you for the link. But probably that discussion was also an unsolved one.
Anyway, does any one in the group think that display of multiple spools per one step job is dependent on client / SAP Server setting? Because as evident from the chain of mails in the link provided by Jayanthi, some people say that they see multiple spool requests for one program in batch mode job overview (SM37)? If yes, can some body tell me the required configuration?

So once i execute REPORT1 it should run in background & generate spool?

Printing multiple spool requests at a time

Hi All,
I am using function module RSPO_OUTPUT_SPOOL_REQUEST to print the contents of the spool request. I want to print multiple spool requests at a time. We can input only one spool request number to the above function module at a time. Is there any way that I can print multiple spool requests with only single Print Popup Window ?

I tried that option at first place only. It results in multiple Print Popups. I want to avoid this. For all spool print requests, I want to show ONLY ONE Print Popup.

Multiple Spool Requests for BACS Payment

Hi,
We are running payment program F110 for BACS payment.
When we run F110 in production system, irrespective of no. of. vendors or payment line items, only one spool request is generated.
But when we run F110 in quality system, multiple spool requests are generated for single payment run.
please give your valuable suggestions, why this is happening like this?

How to create multiple spool requests at once?

We are setting up alarms in CCMS for when the spool is about to get full.
I want to create several thousand spools automatically to try the alarm settings out and make sure that it works.
This doesn't seem possible to do in SPAD, as only one spool is created, and the maximum to create at a time is 250.
It also seems that it the minimum value that the system takes is 99.000 so I'm not able to lower this value to make an easier percentage alarm test.
I would like to either fake the number of spools so that the alarm is triggered, or if anyone can explain how to create a job that increases the number of spoolrequests so that I can verify the alarm thersholds.

One thing you can do. Create two separate test program. In one program write simple one write statement and from another program submit the previous prog via job .

Schedule job in background and ftp the data to non-sap system

Hello All,
I have a requirement where in i have to write a program(with selection screen) to download 2 files into application server(frequency: end of each day i.e daily at 23:59), and then in turn i need to put those two files into FTP server using FTP script.
i guess my flow of the code should be
1. write the program with selection screen and
2. get the data from corresponding tables and put it into internal tables.
3. then i have download the data into application server
my question is : how i will schedule the job in background to download the data into application server daily? using job_open, job_submit, job_close?
4. then how i need to move the files from application server to FTP server using FTP SCRIPT?
Also my doubt is once i execute the program ONLY, the background job is triigred (because i wrote job_open, job_submit and job_close inside my program). then how will i input the data into screen daily and download the data into application server in background automatically???? i am confused ...
Please help me to solve the above issues

So the path name and the file name are always the same? In that case you could simply create a SM49 entry with hard coded file & path name.
An easy example for the COPY command under WINDOWS OS:

Retrieve multiple spool numbers of a job

My ABAP report program will produce several spool list. I would like to ask that are there any functions that I can retrieve ALL spool numbers of the job?
This is because I find that I cannot find the relationship between job and ALL its spool number.

I had a similar requirement to find all the spools created for a specific printer. Only one spool ID is ever stored against the job step.
I developed a bespoke program and included this within my background job (which had multiple steps). This finds the upper and lower spools for the current job ID.
The code to find the spools was as follows:

System is not generating a spool request for Dep.?

Hi,
When I am running a test run with 'planned posting run' system is not giving me any error but when I am executing it in a "repeat run" system comes up with a message
"!! This processing can only be carried out as background processing !!
But when I go to (Jobs Overview screen) see the spool request system is not generating the spool request and Please help me out what's wrong is happening and what shall I do.
It is a new company code for the first time we are running the dep.

Spool request , hard disk

hi,
In my server the spool request crossed 31 thousand, so I deleted all, when i did that my HARD DISK size got reduced by 3 G.B.
Please can you tell what would be the problem.

Deleted old spool requests is doesn't matter. Check the standard background job SAP_REORG_SPOOL to delete old spool requests. If standard background job not scheduled through SM36.

Displaying spool requests

Dear experts ,
      My requirement is ,displaying the spool requests according to user name ,date created ,and Title.for that i am using the following two function modules.

i appended the title of spool request to the internal table and passed that interanal table to RSPO_RINIT_SPOOL_SP01 ,up to now its working fine .but what my requirement is ,i should pass the username and date through selection screen.in the same way i have appended data from the selection screen to respective internal tables and passed through the internal table.if i give wrong 'username ' in selection screen it should not display any spool job.even though its showing spool requests based on title.what was wrong?please help me out.

Spool request has been reused in mean time

hi all,
when i am going to open spool for completed job it is saying like " spool request has been reused in mean time".
plz can any one guide me to solve this issue.
