JRE 1.4.0_01 install with Redhat 7.3

After installation of the rpm-package I tried
./java -version
and the systems claims that:
Error: failed /usr/java/j2re1.4.0_01/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so, because libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Does that mean, that libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 is not installed, or just that he can't find it?
(used Redhat installation with option Software-Development, without Kernel-Development).
Best regards
F.

I found out, that libstdc++....rpm is already installed on my system
and there is seemingly no bugfix from Readhat for 7.3 concerning glibc -
so it's a promblem with PATHs maybe?

  • Error installing jre 1.4.0_01

I have installed and installed the sdk and jre version 1.4.0_01. To cleanup my environment I uninstalled all of my java products and began re-installing them. When I tried to install jre 1.4.0_01 (this is the first product that I tried to re-install) I get a message from the installer
"You already have the Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.0_01 already installed on this machine...."
I have went thru the registry and deleted any reference to java 1.4.0_01. Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

Yep, i had installed the JDK, but when I found out that the plug-in app was not operating properly in the control panel, I figured something had gone wrong. I uninstalled everything and tried installing just the JRE, when I noticed this error.
I used Iolo's system mechanic to try and clean the registry and run all kinds of analysis and cleaners on my system.
No dice, still have that problem.
I believe I may blow away windows and move to a Linux desktop

  • Installing JRE on RHE 3 - Issues with JRE Path

    Hello,
First of all, I am very new to linux (I normally have server admins but since it's weekend it looks very bad)
I have installed j2sdk1.4.2 today but it seems like something went really wrong as we cannot locate jre.
I have installed a chat server which has a startup file containing:
    #!/bin/sh
    jre -ms8m -mx128m -classpath $CLASSPATH:NetDiveServer.jar NetDiveServer port=2112 httpPort=2113 config=.
After running it I simply get the message
    jre: command not found
Maybe somebody could point me to some site where oath setups are explained very well since I am very new to this. I believe it is all about setting up paths so maybe somebody could help out there.
    Thanks

Thanks for your qucik reply. If I can get JRE and Jedit working on my jumpdrive, it will be great and save me a lot of time. I am a new user so I might be asking some obvious questions here.
My question is : What is the difference between integrating JRE with IE and JRE with Jedit? If I run JRE as a stand alone program then will Jedit link to the JRE properly? Anyone care to comment on what the standard installation program does to provide the integration? I guess it is more than just copying files.
What happens if there is another JRE running already? maybe the same or different version of JRE as the one on my jump drive.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Can we install web db with redhat 6.0 and oracle 8 ?

Is it possible to install web db on linux ?
Have any one succeeded in doing so ??
Any help or site regarding this ?

I then tried a custom install of Dev. 6.0 but I removed product by product and the error always was "<product name> can't be installed into multiple oracle homes".
I deleted the whole Oracle 8.1.6 Client and just installed Dev. 6.0 into DEFAULT_HOME. I had a TNS-Error Can't resolve service name.
Copying the tnsnames.ora does not help. You have to manipulate it a litte bit, because Net8 TNSNAMES.ORA needs .world after the connect string.
My question now is: Is it a problem to connect with SQL-Plus 8.0.5 which was installed with Dev. 6.0 to a 8.1.6 Database ?

  • Unable to start jdev 903 with redhat 7.3

    Hi,
I installed jdev 902 on a redhat 7.3 box. It worked fine except i was unable to see/select the Property palette within the UI editor.
So i tried to install jdev 903 to see if it worked better. I installed jdk1.3.0_02 and change the jdev.conf to point to this jdk.
    Then i typed:
    /opt/oracle/jdev903/jdev/bin/jdev

    I tried

    Any idea?

    Hi,
Well see and thank you for the answer: Java 1.3.0_02 is not working in my system.
Other versions of java work fine but not this one. But the way i made a mistake: the system where i installed jdev is running with RedHat 7.2.
I have reinstalled java 1.3.0_02 with no more success.Could it be a problem between rh 7.2 and this version of java? In this case is it possible to use jdev with another version of java. I tried jdev 902 with java 1.4 and remember running into display problems.
    Thanks
    Oscar

  • SUN .... When....  JRE 1.4.0 international with auto update

SUN .... When.... JRE 1.4.0 international with auto update
    When will you deliver .........
We have a dead line and our product needs the international version 1.4 to be updated on our exsiting user base, one of our customers has over 700 workstations.
If the solution is to manually dowload and install this version then Web Start totally fails as a web centric solution.
I see that creating our own servlet breaches SUN's license agreement, so give us a developer servlet we can use.

The auto download servlet supports both international and us-only versions of Java 1.4.0.
Java Web Start includes the current locale in the request to the servlet, and it returns the
US only version if the locale is en_US , or the international version otherwise.
Curently there is no way to get the servlet to download the international version when the
clients locale is en_US.Sorry but havent you just anwsered the question I put, either the servlet supports international clients or it dosent and your anwser just puts more wood on the fire, it dosent, but it could.
Also we recognize that there is a problem when an application needs the international version, and >>the client already has the US version installed. In this case Java Web Start will not attempt
to contact the servlet since it thinks it has an appropriate version allready. Also if you client requires an international version of the JRE it is because it requires that version period, hence if the version tag within the JNLP file specifies JRE1.4 international, then it dosent matter what Web Start may or may not think, the JNLP file written for the application by the author should determine its fate.
The only reason Web Start should determine locale on a target machine would be the text displayed for the dialog interface between the end user.
Its a simple case of checking do I have 1.4 international, "Yes or No", at this point I dont care if 1.4 English is installed, or locale is English, JNLP file asked Web Start, if 1.4 international was installed, "No", Ok then call servlet and request 1.4 international. Simple....
The JRE license agreement allows customers to repackage and redistribute the JRE.
Many customers are redistributing a JRE with their app. Im sure many are, please read my previous post , if you can get sun to offically confirm this, then I stand corrected.

  • JRE 1.4.2_04 install and un-install issues

I was having problems running a Java app and I decided to un-install and re-install my JRE. I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 and IE6 SP1 as well. I went to "Add remove programs" and I noticed I had both of the following:
Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.2_03
Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.2_04
I uninstalled revision 3 ok, but unistalling revision 4 gives me this error:
"Failed to extract file 'Dll_ini' from binary table"
I get the same exact error trying to re-install Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.2_04
I'm stuck here... can anyone lend a hand?

    So... 14 hours later...
I found a mirror site that had JRE 1.4.2_03 and I downloaded and installed it and I was able to run the apps, but I still could not un-install revision _04
I did these 5 things and was able to get JRE 1.4.2_04 installed. Actaully, once the Sun license acceptance page came up on install I canceled it because the errors Iwas getting previously happened prior to the License page, so I knew it work. I un-installed revision _03 and then installed revision _04 with the hopes of squelching further errors.
    1. Check and make sure msiexec.exe is not in memory. If it is, and no setup is running at the time, end that task and restart the system. Alternatively, try START, RUN, type "msiexec /unregister", OK and then START, RUN, type "msiexec /regserver", OK
    2. Clean out the Temp directory. C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME HERE>\Local Settings\Temp
    3. Delete the C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver folder and then rerun the setup.
    4. The other potential cause is a missing Stdole.tlb, stdole32.tlb, or stdole2.tlb file. These are core Windows files and should exist on your machine.
    5. I ran SFC.EXE, I did have core WinXP Pro files missing. See MS Knowledge Base article Q310747 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310747

  • How to upgrade Forms 11gR2 to use JAVA 7 after it was installed with JAVA 6

I recently installed Forms 11gR2 on a development server.  We are trying to have the latest versions of everything to migrate from Forms 10g and assure we have support for the next few years.
Our platform has the following software configuration:
    Solaris 10 (Update 19) SPARC 64 bits
Weblogic 11g (10.3.6) that was installed with Java JDK 1.6.0_38
Forms 11g R2 (11.1.2.1) that was also installed with
    Java JDK 1.6.0_38
I tried to install Weblogic and Forms using the latest Java 7 JDK (1.7.0_25) but I got an error in the final steps of Forms setup, when I was configuring the domain.  I searched online and found a couple of tips but nothing worked.  The installation was stuck at the
Creating Weblogic Domain step.  So I decided to try the installation process with the Java 6 JDK that we are using right now for Forms 10g, and it worked perfectly.  I have now two options but I don't know which one might be the better path:
Uninstall Weblogic and Forms 11g completely, and try to re-install them again with Java 7, trying to fix the error that I got at the end of the configuration process.
Try to upgrade the current Forms 11g installation from Java 6 to Java 7.  I found a blog that might suggest it is possible, but I don't know if it may cause additional issues along the road. http://pitss.com/us/2013/02/20/how-to-use-java-7-with-oracle-forms-11g-in-an-oracle-supported-environment/
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have, or if any of you has experience installing Forms 11gR2 with Java 7 it might be great to know how to fix this error.  It might be worth mentioning that when I installed Forms and Weblogic with Java 6 I used exactly the same values, ports, options and paths.  The error appears like this in the installation logs and the process hangs there:

Well if I got it to work with java 6 I'd leave it alone, to say the least. The elephant in the room is the certification matrix.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/overview/index.html
there's 2 issues, what jdk does forms on the server want? Bigger question, what JRE is acceptable on the client?
You would surely want the jre to be 7 on the client. Regarding the jdk on the server, you could leave it as is IMHO.
Note that there was a patch to 11gr2. In conclusion, be sure to check the cert matrix regarding what is certified for the jdk for the server.
I think the matrices are saying that if you have forms 11.1.2.1.0 that you can use the jdk 7. but like I said the big issue is what can the client use?
As I read the matrix I think it is saying you have to have 11.1.2.1.0 to use the jre 7 on the client.
So I would say if you have 11.1.2.1.0 on the server you are good because it's not a problem to have the jdk 6 on the server, if not you have to apply the patch in order to enable the jre 7 on the client.

  • Silent install with WEB_JAVA_SECURITY_LEVEL=H does not appear to work

Oops - posted this in the wrong category after I landed there as a result of a search...
I have tried to install the jre-7u10-windows-i586.exe with flags: /s WEB_JAVA=1 WEB_JAVA_SECURITY_LEVEL=H but after it is installed, when opening the control panel, the web security level is set to Medium.
This can also be changed by a normal user. The setting is saved in the CURRENT_USER part of the registry. There appears to be no similar entry in LOCAL_MACHINE.
I would have expected when the installer option has been used (as admin), the setting would be HIGH for all users and the user would not be able to change it.
    What is the problem?
OS is Windows XP with all patches.

I understand why you asked the question: It doesn't appear to be working as designed. ;)
I offered up what little I know in hopes of helping you solve the immediate problem of applying that setting. I wasn't trying to dance around the problem. :)
You are correct: it is a per-user setting. There are still a number of ways of getting per-user settings that out there:
    - Via login script, as you suggested;
    - Via GPO - Push the registry key(s) in this example;
    - Via installs - add the registry key as part of the installation to HKCU; for any new user profiles: load the default user hive, add the key there & unload the hive. New profiles from that point on will be updated. You'll still need to do something for existing profiles. (Use one of the two options above for that.)
You added a new twist on this by mentioning a new element: the ability to lock the setting(s) so that users cannot change them. You'll likely need to leverage deployment configuration files to accomplish this. I don't think registry keys apply here, but I could be mistaken. Once the 'master' files are configured properly, they can be deployed via GPO, login script and even new installs.
Take a look at the documentation here, and if you still require some assistance, check back in.
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/deployment/deployment-guide/properties.html
The issue hasn't really 'solved itself' since users can still change the security level. The above will address that.

  • Why do JRE 8u20 and 8u25 install as static?

Why do the installs of JRE 8u20 and 8u25 seem to be hard coded to install as static?
These versions end up in their own folders under Program Folders.
    C:\Program Folders\Java\jre1.8.0_20
    C:\Program Folders\Java\jre1.8.0_25
    The earlier JRE 8's like 8u5 and 8u11 installed to "C:\Program Files\Java\jre8".
According to this information (Installing With a Configuration File) the install should default to not static.
Attempts at setting "STATIC=Disable" in a config file for the exe install or on the msi command line will still result in static installs.
Is Oracle switching direction again and going back to the old way of leaving all versions on the system?

Oracle has made some changes as you can read in the Java SE 8u20 release notes (Java™ SE Development Kit 8, Update 20 Release Notes):
    Java Installer Changes
A new Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) Enterprise JRE Installer which enables user to install the JRE across the enterprise, is available. See Downloading the Installer section in JRE Installation for Microsoft Windows for more information. The MSI Enterprise JRE Installer is only available as part of Java SE Advanced or Java SE Suite. For information about these commercial products, see Java SE Advanced and Java SE Suite.
In other words you have to buy Java SE Advanced or Java SE suite to download the MSI Enterprise JRE Installer through My Oracle Support (MOS).

  • Toolbar buttons GUI Issue in JRE 1.4.0_01.

I have migrated my project which is working well in JRE 1.3 to JRE 1.4.0_01.
I am facing a issue in my Graphical User Interface. In JRE1.4.0_01, all the tool bar buttons are showing in seleted state(Kind of poped up). When I move the mouse over those tool bar buttons, they become normal(Unselected state). I just removed JRE1.3 and included JRE1.4.0_01 in my project.
Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this issue? Appreciate your time.
    Radha

    Hi,
Not sure if I can help as I'm only new to java. I had the same problem when I changed from 1.3 to 1.4. Took me a while to fix the problem. I my case, which may be different to yours, I was using an instance of JButton which provided a rollover effect using a mouse listener. Like your problem, my buttons started with a border selected around them as if the mouse had entered the button area. To fix the problem I simply used the setBorderPainted(false) when I created the button and then when the mouselistener picked up an entered event I set the border Painted to true. When it was exited, the border was replayed with an empty border.
    Hope that helps
    Adrian

  • I am using the Order Analysis Toolkit and want to get more information about the compensation for "Reference Signal Processing", which is scarce in the manuals, the website and the examples installed with the toolkit.

I am using the Order Analysis Toolkit and want to get more information about the compensation for "Reference Signal Processing", which is scarce in the manuals, the website and the examples installed with the toolkit.
In particular, I am analyzing the example "Even Angle Reference Signal Processing (Digital Tacho, DAQmx).vi", whose documentation I am reproducing in the following:
    <B>DESCRIPTIONS</B>:
This VI demonstrates how to extract even angle reference signals and remove the slow-roll errors. It uses DAQmx VIs to acquire sound or vibration signals and a digital tachometer signal. This VI includes a two-step process: acquire data at low rotational speed to extract even angle reference; use the even angle reference to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation.
    <B>INSTRUCTIONS</B>:
    1. Run the VI.
    2. On the <B>DAQ Configurations</B> tab, specify the <B>sample rate</B>, <B>samples per channel</B>, device and channel configurations, and tachometer channel information.
<B>NOTE</B>: You need to use DSA PXI-447x/PXI-446x and PXI TIO device in a PXI chassis to run this example. The DSA device must be in slot 2 of the PXI chassis.
    3. Switch to <B>Extract Even Angle Reference</B> tab. Specify the <B>number of samples to acquire</B> and the <B># of revs in reference</B> which determines the number of samples in even angle reference. Click <B>Start</B> to take a one-shot data acquisition of the vibration and tachometer signals. After the acquisition, you can see the extracted even angle references in <B>Even Angle Reference</B>.
    4. Switch to the <B>Remove Slow-roll Errors</B> tab. Click <B>Start</B> to acquire data continuously and view the compensate results. Click <B>Stop</B> in this tab to stop the acquisition.
<B>ORDER ANALYSIS VIs USED IN THIS EXAMPLE</B>:
    1. SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi
    2. OAT Digital Tacho Process.vi
    3. OAT Get Even Angle Reference.vi
    4. OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi
    5. OAT Compensate Even Angle Signal.vi
My question is: How is the synchronization produced at the time of the compensation ? How is it possible to eliminate the errors in a synchronized fashion with respect to the surface of the shaft bearing in mind that I am acquired data at a low rotation speed in order to get the "even angle reference" and then I use it to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation. In this application both operations are made in different acquisitions, therefore the reference of the correction signal is lost. Is it simply compensated without synchronizing ?
Our application is based on FPGA and we need to clarity those aspects before implementing the procedure.
    Solved!
