Jserv properties file are reflecting in classpath

Hi All,
I'm facing some issue related with jserv.properties file
we mentined some path for custom soap.jar in jser properties file and bounced apache but when I check the class path from front end(about this page>java properties>java class path) it is not reflecting in class path. this on Oracle apps 11i and multinode server, I have Jserv properties file from both the nodes and it contains the entries.
Please let me know if someone has faced the same issue.

  • Even after classpath setting in jserv.properties file  error.

    hi kali,
    i have used a custom jsp page for export to excell using a jar file poi-3i-200566.jar which i deployed in oracle apps version 11.5.10.2.
    the jar is put in $JAVA_TOP and class path entry is set in jserv.properties file as
    wrapper.classpath=/d2_u10/....../poi-3i-200566.jar .
    After setting the classpath , bounced the apache.
    But even after the setting , the same error continues.
    I refered the mod_jserv.log file for error details , the error is in import statement of classes present in the poi-3i-200566.jar file like
    could not find the symbol HSSRow , HSSpreadsheet , etc. all these are classes in jar file.
    please anybody know any extra conf is needed or any idea where i am going wrong.
    thanks

    Hi,
    Please check your jserv.properties file whether the custom class path that you have set is present or not in jserv.properties after restarting the AutoConfig and Apache server.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Jserv Properties file

    I use the BC4J technology and I have the following problem:
    I deploy a project and I declare the classpath in the Jserv properties file. Everything works perferctly. But when I deploy another application which has a different connection to the database I declare a different classpath in the Jserv properties file (under the first), it always takes the connection of the first declaration. If I change the order in the Jserv file then the first project works but the second no.
    Does anybody know how I can solve this problem?
    thanks in advanced
    Antonios

    I think, you could create new servlet zone. Then you may specify different .properties file for each zone.
    See your JServ documentation for details how to do this.

  • Add few lines in jserv.properties file automatically

    Hi All,
    Generally we will be doing 11.5.10.2 "refresh" automatically.....
    How can i automate the script to add this 3 lines in jserv,properties?
    Basically add the following lines to the jserv.properties before any other classpath entry
    wrapper.classpath=/u01/uat2/uat2comn/java/6003133.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/u01/uat2/uat2comn/java/Bug6823675.jar

    Hi,
    This might not be a JSF question, but I thought I'd start here as I'm building a JSF application. Upon startup of my Weblogic 9.2.2 server, I see these error messages

    log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
    One complication, my log4j.properties file is actually called "my.properties" (bizarre company reason). Is there somewhere in my faces-config.xml file or an equivalent where I can indicate what log4j properties file I'd like to use?Your company policy is to use non-standard names so that things must be configured manually? Interesting.
    In the past people created a servlet those sole purpose was to configure log4j in the initialization sequence and then do nothing.

  • How to load Java properties file dynamically using weblogic server

    Hi,
    We are using Java properties file in Java code. Properties in java properties file are frequently modified. If I keep these properties file in project classpath or as part of war, I will have to redeploy application after each change.
    We are using Weblogic Server.
    Can you please suggest me how can this properties file be loaded at weblogic server startup. Then in that case, how to refer property file in Java code?
    What is the best practice for this?
    Thanks,
    Parshant

    Another alternative is, keep the property file in any pre-defined location. Write a class which reads the properties from the file and returns the one which is requested by caller and deploy this class. Whenever you have to change the properties just update the property file on server and next call to fetch the property should return the updated one.
    Downside of this approach is file I/O everytime. To overcome that you can actually "cache" the properties in a hashmap. Basically when any property if requested, first check the hashmap, if not found then only read from property file and also update in hash map. Next time same property will be returned from hash map itself. The hash map will be cleared at every server restart since its in the memory. You will also need to build a method to clear the hashmap when you update the values in the property file on server.
    This solution would be suitable for small size files and when network overhead of calling a DB needs to be avoided.

  • JRE7Update25 Deployment Properties File Not Working And Cant Disable Next Gen Plugin

    Good Day
    Our organisation needs to deploy JRE7U25 to over 4000 workstations. Our desktops are running the following Windows and IE combinations:
    WinXP 32 Bit/IE7
    WinXP 32 Bit/IE8
    Win7 32 Bit/IE8
    Win7 32 Bit/IE9
    Win7 64 Bit/IE8
    Win7 64 Bit/IE8
    We use the 32bit JRE installer across all environments and all IE browsers use 32Bit IE. On all of our environments the Deployment.properties and config files no longer work due to what appears to be a bug in the JRE7U25 installer. Our deployment files are as follows:
    Deployment.config
    deployment.system.config=C:\WINDOWS\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
    deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    Deployment.properties
    deployment.security.level=MEDIUM
    deployment.security.level.locked=
    deployment.javaws.autodownload=NEVER
    deployment.javaws.autodownload.locked=
    deployment.security.mixcode=HIDE_RUN
    deployment.security.mixcode.locked=
    deployment.console.startup.mode=HIDE
    deployment.console.startup.mode.locked=
    Both files are being copied to the following location:
    C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment
    After the installer runs and deployment files are copied to the workstation the deployment.properties and config files look like this:
    Deployment.config
    deployment.system.config=C:\WINDOWS\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
    deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    Deployment.properties
    #System Deployment Properties
    #Mon Jul 01 12:29:20 CAT 2013
    deployment.security.level=MEDIUM
    I have tried changing the deployment.config file as follows in an attempt to fix this to no avail:
    1. deployment.system.config=C:\\WINDOWS\\Sun\\Java\\Deployment\\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    2. deployment.system.config=C:\\WINDOWS\\Sun\\Java\\Deployment\\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=false
    3. deployment.system.config=C:\WINDOWS\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    4. deployment.system.config=C:\WINDOWS\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=false
    5. deployment.system.config=file\:C\:/WINDOWS/Sun/Java/Deployment/deployment.properties
    None of the above mentioned works. So all our required settings in the deployment.properties file are being overwritten when opening the Java console? Our other major problem is that Changing the registry key to 0 in order to disable the next generation plugin does not disable the next generation plugin in Jre at the usual location as it worked for us machine wide (across multiple profiles for JRE6U29):
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Plug-in\10.25.2]
    "UseNewJavaPlugin"=dword:00000000
    ^^I have observed on a fresh install of JRE7U25 that the above mentioned registry key no longer exists in this version so a computer wide disablement of this option is no longer possible via the registry.
    On our 32Bit and 64bit machines running the 32 bit JRE 7U25 client when we disable the next generation plugin it keeps enabling itself again. Even when we run the javacpl.exe to run as administrator by changing the compatibility settings and disabling the next generation plugin it enables itself again. This is a huge problem for us because our company Oracle web based applications need this plugin to be disabled in order to run the apps properly.
    These are major obstacles for our deployment as we desperately require assistance or any advice in addressing these issues as there appear to be numerous bugs with the JRE7U25 release. Thank you in advance.
    Update 7 July 2013:
    I have observed that if you have the following options in your Deployment.config file it doesn't allow our java webstart apps which use jnlp extensions to run.
    1. deployment.system.config=C:\\WINDOWS\\Sun\\Java\\Deployment\\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    2. deployment.system.config=C:\\WINDOWS\\Sun\\Java\\Deployment\\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=false
    3. deployment.system.config=C:\WINDOWS\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    4. deployment.system.config=C:\WINDOWS\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
        deployment.system.config.mandatory=false
    The jnlp file association is also broken on Windows XP workstations with JRE7U25. We are having to manually associate the .jnlp file extension with javaws.exe on workstation for Web start apps or else users cannot lauch JRE whn clicking on .jnlp links.
    The only Deployment.config syntax which allows our Webstart applications to run is as follows:
    deployment.system.config=file\:C\:/WINDOWS/Sun/Java/Deployment/deployment.properties
    What a mess!

    I don't have an answer to the problem, but I am having problems with the system level deployment.properties file and IE9 on Windows 7 32/64bit.
    Starting with version 13, the IE plugin seems to igonore the system level deployment.properties file in favor of the user level deployment.properties file. When I open the Java Control Panel, the settings are correct per the system deployment.properties file. Currently to get the Java Plugin to work reliably in IE9 I have to set the following:
    _JAVA_OPTIONS = -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
    Disable caching
    Set the proxy to Direct Connection.
    If I set the _JAVA_OPTIONS as an environment variable and the other two in the system deployment.properties file, Firefox works fine, but IE wont load either of the Java tests. If I removed the system deployment.properties files and configure the user deployment.properties file, both IE and Firefox work fine.
    I find it interesting that if I set the configuration through the control panel, then apply the system deployment.propteries file, the user deployment.properties file reverts to defaults when the system file is removed.

  • How to set Path for a properties file

    Hi,
    I am using a SQL.properties file to load all my SQL statements to my EJB JDBC prepared Statement. I have placed the SQL.properties file in com.company.sql package. I have another SQL class in the same package which is loading the SQL.properties file to cache for future use. I am using the path as "SQL.properties" (the file name straight ) in the SQL class to access the properties file.
    I am using Sun App Server 7. To get access to this file I need to copy the SQL.properties file to the config directory of the app server instance. Otherwise it is not able to locate the file. I don't want to put the properties file in the config directory of the app server instance. Please help me, what path I have to give to access the file from the package itself, rather from the config directory of server instance.
    I think , some one who is doing localization can help me out here. They have to put the localized properties file to access the text out of it. Please help me. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks
    Amit

    I am using the propeties file to get the SQL statements. I have all the SQL query statement in the properties file. I am creating a preparedstatement after getting the statement from the properties file with the id like we do in ResourceBundle. If I keep the properties file in the config directory of the Sun App Server instance , then it is working fine. But If I don't keep it there, then it is giving me a file not found exception.
    My SQL class which is accessing the properties file are in same package (com.company.sql). But still it is not able to find the file. As suggested by you, I tried it by giving the path as com.company.sql.SQL. Still it did not found the file. The file is there inside the WEB-INF/classess/com/company/sql/.

    method within ejb container as "getResourceAsStream(.......)" method within servlet

    thanks for any helps!
    the code snippet is appreciated!

    In general, you should look at using environment entries (variables) in the
    deployment descriptors (both the war and EJB jar rather than properties
    files for configuring J2EE applications. The reasons for this are many:
    1. This is the official way to do it according to the spec. Properties
    files are the J2SE way of doing things
    2. As you note, that it's not obvious how you would (legally) read a
    properties file inside an EJB.
    3. It's consistent between the web and EJB part of your code
    4. the weblogic console and tools have good capabilities to edit these
    fields.

    configuration information from the properties files(i even write the SQLclause
    in the files),it alwsys works well.
    now,i want to implement such function within the ejb container,that is toread
    a properties file from session bean,but i don't know how can i locate thefile
    within the ejb container by using relative path,i wonder if there is thesame
    method within ejb container as "getResourceAsStream(.......)" methodwithin servlet
    container?
    thanks for any helps!
    the code snippet is appreciated!

  • Changing a .properties file from within a programme

    Hi, I was just wondering is there anyway that i can change a .properties file from within a programme?
    I have certain values in the .properties file and I want to add a username and password to the file once it has been entered in a login part of the programme.
    I have had a look at the docs and can not seem to find any suitable methods.
    Cheers Gareth.

    store is a good method.
    In practical use, sometimes you have a .properties file full of comments (properties files are to be modified by humans, and humans need comments), but they are not retrieved by "load" so they will not be stored back by "store". It's a pity that it happens (the equivalent Windows API, WritePrivateProfileString, has a better behaviour).
    Maybe someone has written a method that can modify a properties file, without changing the order of the pairs name=value and without throwing out comments.

  • Encoding issue in properties files generated with l10n tooling

    Hello,
    I recently try to alter my encoding settings as follows :
    * UTF-8 as workbench default, and for all content types
    * one exception : ISO-8859-1 for *.properties files (in order to conform to the specs of this format).
    Now this gives me an issue when using the l10n tooling: apparently, all the generated properties files are encoded in UTF-8 (the new workbench default), ignoring the content type specific settings.
    The sad result : hieroglyps.
    Isn't there any way for me to specify the generated properties files should be encoded in ISO-8859-1... ?
    Thomas

    please file a bug we need generate those files in 8859-1 all time
    because this is what the spec says.
