Jserver Exception SGD 4.5

I'm getting the following error on all of my 4.5 servers intermittently. Has anyone else seen this? Along with this I'm getting user complaints about their session dying unexpectedly. I'm not certain the error is related.

inconsistent states.
You may need to restart your server. Check the logs more information."

It is a bug, but it is not as serious as the error message suggests and there is no need to restart the SGD servers. The SGD server is attempting to remove an entry that has been cleared by a different thread.

    When the installation is done according to the documentation,
    web access does not work because the scripts that add entries to
    the jserv.properties file add duplicate references to
    wrapper.env and wrapper.classpath. Look at the jserv.properties
    file below and look at the remarked-out (#) lines of the
    duplicate references. For example, look at the references to the
    wrapper.env=LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    Oracle, please note this bug so the web access problems are
    minimized when the product is intstalled.

    # will be resolved to the IP address configured for the locahost
    # on your system (generally this is 127.0.0.1). This feature is
    so
    # that one can have multiple instances of Apache JServ listening
    on

    machine.
    # Use bindaddress=* only if you know exactly what you are doing

    The same instructions are used for the new window setting, listed as
    '''''browser.startup.homepage'''''.

  • There is a xml parser written in pl/sql

    Hi everybody,
    We know xml parser for pl/sql is based on xml parser for java, that is, we need the Jsever running. However, Jserver needs 60-80 MB of memory and initially we don't need Jserver, except for xml parsing. Then:
    There is a xml parser written in pure pl/sql ?.
    Thanks for your help!
    Jairo.

    PL/SQL is not sufficient to write for XML Parsing. The implementation is either in C or in Java.
    If you use Oracle9i, you can take use of XMLType for the C-based XML Parser.

    do you install the pre-requisites rpm package to work tta 4 in fc3 for
    fedora 3 you need this
    The virtual machine for the Java platform ('Java Virtual Machine' or
    'JVM') used by the Secure Global Desktop server requires the libXp.so.6
    file in order to run. This file is deprecated in Fedora Core 3. However
    the file is still available in
    xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.1-12.i386.rpm on disk 2 of the installation
    CDs. You must install this package before installing Secure Global
    Desktop. If you do not, Secure Global Desktop will not start.

  • SGD 4.5 upgrade to SGD 4.6, corrupt ENS database, No applications on webtop

    Upgrade procedure went as follows:
    -Added new server to exsisting 4.5.933 array.
    -Verified ENS sync - Users could login, webtops and applications all worked
    -Detached server from 4.5.933 array
    -Performed upgrade to SGD 4.6 , no errors
    We are using LDAP authentication against Active Directory, users can login but they do not have any applications on their webtop.
    Logging into the administrator console there are no application servers listed in the application server tab. However if you go to the application and select "Hosting Application Servers" the correct server is listed and you can click on the server object and view address. Test Connectivity also works.
    You can not search for users even with Local + LDAP repository selected. If you manual drill down LDAP hierarchy you can get to the user however when you click on user it pops back to the "Secure Global Desktop Servers" tab.

    Try doing a 'tarantella stop --kill' and a 'tarantella webserver stop'. Then 'ps -ef | grep tta' and kill any stray SGD processes (I'm expecting there will be a 'ttassl' left behind)
    Then do 'netstat -an | grep 5307' - this shouldn't show anything listening on port 5307 (the secure port)
    If it all looks good so far restart SGD ('tarantella webserver start', 'tarantella start')

  • Running JSPs through Apache Jserv in OC4J

    hello there -
    I'm hoping someone can help me.
    I want index.jsp, our first page, to ACT like a JSP, rather than the current HTML. It seems that httpd.conf wont access OC4J, so i've attempted to access Jserv. Still, things wont work.
    If someone could please take a look at what i have so far in httpd.conf, more specifically, near the bottom where i've opened up Jserv, and let me know what i'm doing wrong, i'd greatly appreciate it!
    ## httpd.conf -- Apache HTTP server configuration file
    # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool.
    # This is the main Apache server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://www.apache.org/docs/> for detailed information about
    # the directives.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # After this file is processed, the server will look for and process
    # /devl/ics3/devl/apache/srm.conf and then /devl/ics3/devl/apache/access.conf
    # unless you have overridden these with ResourceConfig and/or
    # AccessConfig directives here.
    # The configuration directives are grouped into three basic sections:
    # 1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a
    # whole (the 'global environment').
    # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server,
    # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host.
    # These directives also provide default values for the settings
    # of all virtual hosts.
    # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to
    # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the
    # same Apache server process.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do not begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/usr/local/apache" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/usr/local/apache/logs/foo.log".
    ### Section 1: Global Environment
    # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache,
    # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it
    # can find its configuration files.
    # ServerType is either inetd, or standalone. Inetd mode is only supported on
    # Unix platforms.
    ServerType standalone
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
    # mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation
    # (available at <URL:http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/core.html#lockfile>);
    # you will save yourself a lot of trouble.
    # Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path.
    ServerRoot "/oraapp/9iAS10220/home/Apache/Apache"
    # The LockFile directive sets the path to the lockfile used when Apache

    # Server-pool size regulation. Rather than making you guess how many
    # server processes you need, Apache dynamically adapts to the load it
    # sees --- that is, it tries to maintain enough server processes to
    # handle the current load, plus a few spare servers to handle transient
    # load spikes (e.g., multiple simultaneous requests from a single
    # Netscape browser).
    # It does this by periodically checking how many servers are waiting
    # for a request. If there are fewer than MinSpareServers, it creates

    # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'

    # <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
    # any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.
    # All of these directives may appear inside <VirtualHost> containers,
    # in which case these default settings will be overridden for the
    # virtual host being defined.
    # If your ServerType directive (set earlier in the 'Global Environment'

    # AddLanguage allows you to specify the language of a document. You can
    # then use content negotiation to give a browser a file in a language
    # it can understand.
    # Note 1: The suffix does not have to be the same as the language
    # keyword --- those with documents in Polish (whose net-standard
    # language code is pl) may wish to use "AddLanguage pl .po" to
    # avoid the ambiguity with the common suffix for perl scripts.
    # Note 2: The example entries below illustrate that in quite
    # some cases the two character 'Language' abbriviation is not
    # identical to the two character 'Country' code for its country,
    # E.g. 'Danmark/dk' versus 'Danish/da'.

    ### Section 3: Virtual Hosts
    # VirtualHost: If you want to maintain multiple domains/hostnames on your
    # machine you can setup VirtualHost containers for them. Most configurations
    # use only name-based virtual hosts so the server doesn't need to worry about
    # IP addresses. This is indicated by the asterisks in the directives below.
    # Please see the documentation at <URL:http://www.apache.org/docs/vhosts/>
    # for further details before you try to setup virtual hosts.
    # You may use the command line option '-S' to verify your virtual host
    # configuration.
    # If you want to use name-based virtual hosts you need to define at
    # least one IP address (and port number) for them.
    # Use name-based virtual hosting.
    #NameVirtualHost 12.34.56.78:80
    #NameVirtualHost 12.34.56.78
    #NameVirtualHost *

    # o FakeBasicAuth:
    # Translate the client X.509 into a Basic Authorisation. This means that
    # the standard Auth/DBMAuth methods can be used for access control. The
    # user name is the `one line' version of the client's X.509 certificate.
    # Note that no password is obtained from the user. Every entry in the user
    # file needs this password: `xxj31ZMTZzkVA'.
    # o ExportCertData:
    # This exports two additional environment variables: SSL_CLIENT_CERT and
    # SSL_SERVER_CERT. These contain the PEM-encoded certificates of the
    # server (always existing) and the client (only existing when client
    # authentication is used). This can be used to import the certificates
    # into CGI scripts.
    # o StdEnvVars:
    # This exports the standard SSL/TLS related `SSL_*' environment variables.
    # Per default this exportation is switched off for performance reasons,
    # because the extraction step is an expensive operation and is usually
    # useless for serving static content. So one usually enables the
    # exportation for CGI and SSI requests only.
    # o CompatEnvVars:
    # This exports obsolete environment variables for backward compatibility
    # to Apache-SSL 1.x, mod_ssl 2.0.x, Sioux 1.0 and Stronghold 2.x. Use this
    # to provide compatibility to existing CGI scripts.
    # o StrictRequire:
    # This denies access when "SSLRequireSSL" or "SSLRequire" applied even
    # under a "Satisfy any" situation, i.e. when it applies access is denied
    # and no other module can change it.

    # SSL Protocol Adjustments:
    # The safe and default but still SSL/TLS standard compliant shutdown
    # approach is that mod_ssl sends the close notify alert but doesn't wait for
    # the close notify alert from client. When you need a different shutdown
    # approach you can use one of the following variables:

    # This forces an unclean shutdown when the connection is closed, i.e. no
    # SSL close notify alert is send or allowed to received. This violates
    # the SSL/TLS standard but is needed for some brain-dead browsers. Use
    # this when you receive I/O errors because of the standard approach where
    # mod_ssl sends the close notify alert.
    # o ssl-accurate-shutdown:
    # This forces an accurate shutdown when the connection is closed, i.e. a
    # SSL close notify alert is send and mod_ssl waits for the close notify
    # alert of the client. This is 100% SSL/TLS standard compliant, but in
    # practice often causes hanging connections with brain-dead browsers. Use
    # this only for browsers where you know that their SSL implementation
    # works correctly.
    # Notice: Most problems of broken clients are also related to the HTTP
    # keep-alive facility, so you usually additionally want to disable
    # keep-alive for those clients, too. Use variable "nokeepalive" for this.

    Weird ... that works.
    So, I created the dummy account which was also failing as follows:
    create user newuser identified by oracle;
    grant developer_role to newuser;This fails, but only from a Form running under OC4J, until I run:
    ALTER SYSTEM SET sec_case_sensitive_logon = FALSE scope = MEMORY;While I've made this change in our development database, I don't really want to do the same eventually in PROD. I'd rather figure out what's changed about how OC4J connects, find a rememdy there, and set this back to TRUE.
    Since I didn't create the username or password as a string literal (to ensure lowercasing), I'm confused as to what's happening. When the init parm is set to TRUE, when the dialog box pops up for the form after the invalid username/password error, I tried entering the password in all lowercase, and then in all uppercase, to no effect. Both fail.

    We do not know the cause of it as the user have not complained about it so far. While routine checking, we stumbled upon this file and saw the errors. This is happening on our PROD instance. Hence it is a concern. Let me know if anyone has encountered this issue before. And what is the cause for it and the fix?

  • Getting exception after adding new View attribute in OCO

    Hi,
    I have added a new field in Oracle Customers Online -> Customers -> Accounts Summary page. I had changed the query in the VO and added the view attribute through JDeveloper and created the corresponding VORowImpl java class. I have referred the same View attribute in the page bean also. When i am doing the testing i am getting the exception. Any idea to resolve this issue. I have given the customization details below.
    Page bean: IMCAccountsSummaryEditPG.xml
    Newly added line..
                                            <oa:messageStyledText id="CreditHold" dataType="VARCHAR2" prompt="CreditHold" text="CreditHold" viewName="IMCCustAcoountsVO1" viewAttr="CreditHold" maximumLength="30" sortState="yes" shortDesc="Credit Hold"/>
    VO: IMCCustAcoountsVO.xml
    Refer credit_hold in the query and CreditHold in the view attribute for the newly added column.

    First this is not the right way to do it. You should extend the VO and create a new vo and add the new attribute, then use personalization to add a new item, create substitution to represent the old VO with your new VO. Did you follow these steps to do the extension ?

  • Cmd.exe window does not open in apache jserv

    cmd.exe window does not open in apache jserv
    I need to call a dos program from a servlet running on apache jserv1.1.
    I develop with Jdeveloper wich has got a built in webserver to debug servlets.
    With Jdeveloper it works fine (a dos windows opens), but when I deploy it to apache it doesn't work. The process is started, but no dos window opens. Should I change settings of jserv, is this a bug, does anyone know?
    The (beta) code looks like this
    String cmd = "c:\\temp\\cmd.exe /c \"start /min /wait /b dosprogram \"";
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
    BufferedReader lsOut = new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader (p.getInputStream()));
    BufferedReader lsErr = new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader (p.getErrorStream()));
    try {
    p.waitFor();
    int completionStatus = p.exitValue();
    out.println( "<br>Exit Status: " + completionStatus );
    catch( InterruptedException ex ) {
    out.println( "Executable program (" + cmd + ") was interrupted." );
    while(( line=lsOut.readLine()) != null) {
    out.println("<br>lsout====>");
    out.println(line);
    while ((line2 = lsErr.readLine()) != null){
    out.println("<br>Errout====>");
    out.println(line2);
    catch(SecurityException e) {
    out.println("Security Error: " + e);
    catch(IOException e) {
    out.println("IO Error: " + e);
    catch (Exception e) {
    out.println("ls error " +e);
    null

    Is apache running as a service?
