We do not know the cause of it as the user have not complained about it so far. While routine checking, we stumbled upon this file and saw the errors. This is happening on our PROD instance. Hence it is a concern. Let me know if anyone has encountered this issue before. And what is the cause for it and the fix?

It looks like you are using Oracle Applications, which is different from Application Server. You might benefit from posting in the EBS forum.
For this issue - I could suggest you check your system resources, in particular the ulimit. Check the number of allowed open files with ulimit -a and ensure it is sufficient. If that does not help, please ask in the EBS forum.

Error messages when using Brooks SmartDDE under WinXP

I receive some error messages (for example: Stack fault at position...) when
I try to use Brooks SmartDDE 1.2 under WinXP.
I need to control three DMFCs by means of some Excel macros calling
SmartDDE.
How can I solve this problem?

I suggest you abandon using Excel as a data acquisition environment.
That is like using an inverted Corvette as a sled. Sure it may work for short straight trips but don't expect it to handle the curves very well.

Have repeating error messages in Dreamweaver 5.5. under Mac Os 10.6.8

Hi,
wanted to start to work and get familiar designing websites with my "old" dreamweaver.
Every time I try to start or to use Dreamweaver's menus (new file, save as, etc) I receive the following error message:

Why is there an error message while opening my CHM under Windows XP?

Hey,
I´m using Windows 7, RoboHelp 8 and generate CHM files to be integrated into our software or to be downloaded from our website.
I upload the compiled file to our server, then other persons can downoad it to their local disk which runs under WIndows XP. This was done by one person - she double clicks on the CHM, the window opens, shows the TOC but on the content side appears the message "the navigation to the website (failed?)".
Maybe you have an idea how to solve that problem? We are having cutsomers using mainly XP, therefore it should be working....

Hi Janna.
This is caused by additional security that has been added to Windows OS. Chances are your users will have to unblock the contents of the CHM file after it has been downloaded. Right click on the CHM file and click Properties. In the General tab should be an Unblock button. Click on it and they'll be able to see the content.

Hi Experts,
Am creating the Purc Requisations of EBAN table, by using BAPI_PR_CREATE from my " Z " prog.
They are creating fine, but, in JOB LOG(when scheduled as BATCH JOB), am getting an error as
" ENTER PLANT" of ID is ME # is 083.
I tried all combinations, like populated a value into Procuring plant, Supplying plant, in the folllowing structures of BAPI,(passing follwoing tables)

         pritemexp = it_bapimereqitem

still getiitng the same error!!!

Why do I get iCal error messages on my iMac saying that it can't log into my Gmail account and that the password may be incorrect - when the password is correct?

I recently changed my Google email password and now I keep getting the bouncing iCal icon telling me that it can't log into my gamil account. When I go to calendar.google.com as instructed and enter the new password it does not solve the problem.

With $FND_TOP/admin/template/afjava.sh 115.3, too much logging information is collected for a JVM, causing large log files. This is addressed in file version $FND_TOP/admin/template/afjava.sh 115.4, provided in patch 3104607 TXK Autoconfig rollup patch F onwards. The extra logging information is only generated if variable s_jserv_std_log is enabled.
Fix
1. Please apply the latest released TXK Autoconfig roll up patch.
2. Verify that variable s_jserv_std_log is disabled.

Worrying Disk Utility Error Message

When I click verify disk in Disk Utility, a worrying error message comes up saying " The underlying task did not complete on exit" giving the error message
Verifying volume “Macintosh HD”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.
Checking Extended Attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.

(It should be 24694657 instead of 24694833)
The volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit

Volume needs repair
I can't repair the volume as it is greyed out.
Help! This is a brand new MacBookPro, I've only had it a couple of days!

So far I have never had any problems with them personally so I don't do an Erase & Install.
I'm sure we're all happy for you although problems do happen. Problems with the installation and even hardware problems. Thing is, often these issues aren't apparent until some time later.
The way I see it, the time and effort required to do an "Erase and Install" (which include a zero write to the drive) is a known… about 3 hours. To my mind, even there's a remote chance that this stops a potential problem in its tracks before it's a problem it's worth the time spent. 3 hours over the lifetime of a Mac OS X installation is not a lot to give up.
Additionally, by zero writing to a drive, it does allow you to see if your drive is on one way performing correctly. All four of my 300GB drives in my Mac Pro wrote zeros within one minute of each other. I know these drives won't have issues when being told to write a ton of data. Whithout doing this I would never know.
Now I did the same thing with my parents' 750GB drives and one finished in 3 hours and the other was still going at 5 hours. Now you can't tell me there's not something up there. So at what point would you like to have found that out?
How much time, let alone money, does it cost to do something later on?
Just like tools like Monolingual. How many issues with updates are caused by such tools? Again, how much time is lost to debug and maybe fix such issues? Thing is, we don't know although if you had a customised installation from the outset it wouldn't matter as you wouldn't be using such tools.
But hey… everyone's got their own opinion. All I know is that my systems always seem to go better and faster than every other Mac owners I know.

Unable to add a mail account, with Invalid Password error message, yet can log into mail system OK through a browser. Mail technicians can't find the problem.

When I try to add a newly-created Bigpond account to Thunderbird, I get an error message "User Name or Password Invalid", yet I can log in to this account OK through a browser. When adding the account, Thunderbird says "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database". I have previously successfully added Bigpond, Yahoo, Outlook and Hotmail accounts to Thunderbird and they are working fine. The Bigpond Technical Support staff have looked into this and cannot see what is wrong but they say they do not support Thunderbird. Any ideas appreciated...

For the settings that needs to be configured for your new mailbox, kindly follow the steps listed below:

In looking at the Thunderbird error message, it seems to consistently refer to the User Name and Password. I know they are correct, as I can log in from a browser using them. Is there something in the validation rules that might be the problem? Also, you may be aware that Bigpond is migrating their old Webmail system across to the Outlook platform. Registering new e-mail accounts in Bigpond get created on the Outlook platform, whereas older accounts are still on the Bigpond Webmail system. Is this causing a problem somewhere in validation?

the most common circumstance is when people launch itunes, but i've seen it happen at other times too. (importing a CD, downloading a video podcast, plugging in an ipod ...). when do you get it?

TS3276 Well it happened again. Why does my apple me account stop sending mail for no apparent reason. One minute it is working find and 10 seconds latter you get error messages that it does not recognize your password. I am really fed up with the mail sof

Things were going well. Mail was working fine and then the following error message appears out of nowhere. I had not changed any settings. From that point on all efforts to send mail failed, and the error message appeared even thought I used the password to log back in after I quit. Now, an hour after the problem started it takes my password (on the second try after the error message appears) once and sends a test message. Then, one minute later it gives the error message again and refuses to send anything. Why is mail so inconsistent? What can I do in the future to address the problem?
Error message reads "The SMTP server "xxxxx" rejected the password for user "xxx" Please re-enter your password or cancel.
When mail does work again. Should I click the remember this password in keychain or am I just asking for more trouble?

I"m no expert but this used to happen to me all the time (stop downloading, asking for my password, nothing downloading, walking away- 24 hours or more later, all is fine, only to later start all over again)
Well, i gave up for a long time and stopped using that account with mac mail and only accessed it online..recently went and changed the pop3 to only pop and now it works beautifully and seamlessly. Don't ask me why or how, but it does so thought I'd share.

ITunes spontaneously closes - no error message

I've just started having recent - but consistent - problems on my WinXP system. iTunes runs, and can see my iPod Touch. I want to add video files to it. So I select File > Add Folder to Library. I navigate to the folder containing my videos. I click OK, and iTunes closes. No error message; it just closes.
I try a similar procedure with File > Add File to Library, and the same thing happens. As soon as I specify the file, iTunes closes, with no error message.
Here's a list of what I've tried so far:
1) Rebooted system
2) Reviewed the Event Manager logs (eventvwr.msc) - no crash was listed
3) Repaired iTunes installation
4) Uninstalled QuickTime and iTunes, reinstalled
5) Deleted:
C:\Documents and Settings\(name)\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes
C:\Documents and Settings\(name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
... and ran iTunes.
No luck so far, and as far as I know, there is no other way for me to get files from my computer to my iPod. Can anyone suggest other solutions?

Ok... I called Apple Support. and they were more helpful than I expected. There are several things I don't like about Apple, but let it go on the record that their customer support was excellent.
The gentleman to whom I spoke (Case# 132295246) suggested that I try accessing my OS using an alternate user. My single-user system didn't have any other users, so I quickly created one (Control Panel > User Accounts). Once I was logged in as the new user, not only did the QuickTime player load, but iTunes worked perfectly.
On the tech's suggestion, I agreed to compare the service lists between the two accounts (I didn't make him stay on the phone for this). Unfortunately, they were identical. So I turned my attention to the system tray (in the bottom right-hand corner), and noticed the ATI Tray Tools icon. I exited the app, and suddenly everything worked.
Ok, we have an easy workaround, but we can do better. Any technically-oriented PC user with an ATI card isn't going to want to give up ATI Tray Tools - it's a wonderful piece of software. Fortunately, the program allows one to define exclusions that can be applied to ANY file that conflicts.
So for Apple's benefit, I hope this gets added to the knowledge base:
Problem:
iTunes spontaneously closes during use, no error message.
Diagnosis measure:
The problem is resolved when logging into WinXP as a newly-created user.
The user has an ATI Video Card
The user is running ATI Tray Tools
Resolution 1:
Close the ATI Tray Tools application before running iTunes.

Resolution 2:
Add iTunes to the ATI Tray Tools exclusion list:
1) While ATI Tray Tools is running, right-click the ATI Tray Tools icon in the system tray.
2) Select Hardware
3) Select Auto-Overclocking
4) Click the Exclude tab
5) Add the following programs to the list:
C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe
C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QuickTimePlayer.exe
6) Click OK

Additional note: If you have any other programs that will not run (no error messages), locate the executable, and add it to the exclusion list. I was able to solve my Java problems by adding the necessary executables from the C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin folder.
