JSONP support for APEX RSS feed

Hi,
We have an APEX application that leverage's APEX and UCM API to create a RSS feed that is displayed on the Content Portal.

The feed XML is converted to a JSON object and displayed on the home page using jquery.
Up until last week this feed was displaying fine but now its broken and can no longer be seen on the home page.
Our logs indicate that the feed content is being pulled as before without errors.

A test page created to investigate the issue shows the following error -
Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type application/rss+xml: "https://apex.oraclecorp.com/pls/apex/IBUSCP.RSS?callback=jsonp1347857472289&feed=1&itemCount=20"

Could this possibly have to do with the recent upgrade on the APEX server as this worked perfectly earlier?
Could the JSON support for RSS feed might have been affected?

Your servers are in a personal network and we can not connect to them without setting up some kind of vpn connection.
I would suggest that you install firebug in firefox and just look in the console what is happening.
Firebug can monitor json to.

Old podcast rss feed no longer exists, do I need to creat a new podcast show for new rss feed?

I have an established podcast (Tommy Unit Live) but the RSS feed is no longer valid. Do I need to request a new show (set up a new show) to update with the currect RSS feed?

Do you mean that the old feed no longer exists and you don't have access to the server to replace it? In that case your best hope is to email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to transfer the iTunes Store's attention to the new feed: give them the ID number or the URL of the Store page, and the URL of the new feed - check this beforehand by subscribing manually in iTunes (from the 'Advanced' menu) so that you are sure you are dealing with a working feed.
They've just done this for someone else so hopefully they will do it for you: the alternative is to start again from scratch and submit the new feed as a completely new podcast (you would need to change the title slightly or you will be told it has already been submitted).

How do i set different refresh frequencies for different RSS-feeds?

Suppose I have 10 different RSS-feeds. Now, I want feed #1 to refresh every 5 minutes, feed #2 - every hour, feed #3 - every 3 hours, etc. I know how to set refresh frequency for all the items in the RSS-folder (that's done through account settings). The problem is it can be done for the folder as a whole, but not for individual items.

Go into the app whose notification you want to change, hit menu, then settings (or preferences), you'll find the notification settings in there.

Authentication support for Apex 4.1 and 3.2.1.00.1 on Active Direct 2008 R2

Hi,
We are about to upgrade our domain controllers to Windows Server 2008 R2 from Windows Server 2003.
We have 2 Apex production applications running on:
Apex 4.1 and Apex 3.2.1.00.11., both of which authenticate users against the domain. Can anyone confirm whether upgrading our Domain Controllers to WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 is supported or likely to require changes? Neither application points to a specific DC for authentication, they simply point to the domain top level.

That's a shared drive. And it must be allowed because our current production APEX applications have been linking (and still do) to files for several years now. Only my fresh install of APEX 4.1 doesn't link.

RSS Feed not working in chrome browser for anonymous users but working fine in IE

We are having public facing site for anonymous users. We have created links for OOTB RSS feed for lists and libraries. The link is working fine in IE, but for chrome it is asking for credentials. We are using publishing site. Any idea or pointers is much
appreciated. We are in testing phase and this issue sticking us.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want anonymous user access RSS feed link without asking for credentials.
I suggest you can check if you have deactived the “Limited-access user permission lockdown mode” feature in the site settings-> site collection features
In my environment ,after disabling the feature, then the rss feed link will be accessed without credentials for anonymous users in Chrome.

Creating a title for RSS feeds

Hello-
I have a podcast and have made a website for it using iWeb. I went to iTunes to submit my podcast, but later found out that my RSS feed for my podcast has no title in the blue section at the top of the screen.
How do I create a title for an RSS feed (it should be the same whether or not it's a blog or a podcast) using iWeb '08? By title, I mean the words in the blue bar at the top of any RSS feed. My website is http://web.mac.com/rafaelsands/GreatCommercials_Podcast/Great_Commercials_Podcast/Great_CommercialsPodcast.html and the RSS feed is feed://web.mac.com/rafaelsands/GreatCommercials_Podcast/Great_CommercialsPodcast/rss.xml
Besides no title in the blue bar, I also noticed there is no source link on the right hand side.

Address Book Photo for RSS Feeds, in Mail?

Does anybody know how to get an image to show up for an RSS feed instead of the square box with a silhouette of a person?
I really the new Apple Mail feature that places a photo of the sender in the mail message pane list. It works great for email. Can I get this to work for my RSS feeds, too? Ideally, Apple Mail would just use the logo, if one is designated, in the RSS feed itself, which many feeds have.

Go to your blog and click on the RSS button in the URL window of Safari to view the rss feed. Then copy the RSS feed page's URL from the URL field at the top.

Safari keeps asking for Name and Password for RSS feed

Safari version 4.0 (4530.17) keeps popping up a window asking me to "Enter you Name and Password to update the RSS feed". the message continues - " To update the RSS feed "http://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom", you need to log in to the area "New mail feed" on mail.google.com. Your password will be sent in clear text".
This only started after the last Safari software upgrade a few weeks ago.
What is this? I did not sign up for any RSS feed. I keep selecting Cancel but it pops up every few minutes when Safari is open.

Try removing all the preference files for Acrobat, see my list in Re: Acrobat 9 Pro requires admin password every time it opens?.

App rejected for rss feeds?

My app has been rejected for using rss feeds, Apple says " We found that your app contains features that may infringe on rights owned by Various News Stations, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines".
My app allows user to select location and or topics and then displays RSS feeds from relevant publications (newspapers, magazines, TV News stations).
Does anyone have experience of this? There are dozens of rss readers out there, including many that pull from news sources. I find it hard to believe that everyone has the "documentary evidence that you have the rights to use this content" which apple is asking me for.
Does it make a difference if you link to their website as well as display the feed itself? Seems crazy since I thought hyperlinking was what the internet was all about.
Any advice gratefully received.

Law in this area is still in development. Originally, linking and reposting was perfectly fine. Now, people are getting sensitive about it. Your feed could conceiveabley violate the terms of use for a web site by removing ads from the feeds, for example. The "Wild West" days of the internet are coming to an end.
Apple isn't saying you can't use feeds, you just need to prove you have rights to them. Contact the sites you want to use and ask.

The rss feed for trending questions does not work?

All I can get is unformatted postings for the RSS feed for "trending questions" and this is the error message
" XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

Safari vs. Mail for RSS feeds?

From reading Mac Help, I see you can use both Safari or Mail for reading RSS feeds.
As I understand it, the advantage of using Safari is that you have to use Safari anyway to subscribe to and actually read the full articles, so it would seem to make more sense just to use Safari.
However, the advantage of creating a special RSS feeds mailbox in Mail is that you can have all the feeds from multiple blogs appear in a single mailbox as they are posted, instead of having to load up the feeds for each site separately in Safari.

Correct.
I prefer to use Mail to manage, and if/when I want more, I follow the link via Safari.

RSS Feed Issues

I built a blog in iWeb which is hosted by MobileMe on my personal domain. I use Feedburner for the RSS Feed.

Can anyone tell me how to:
1) Get the RSS Feed to display images.
2) Get the RSS Feed to embed video.
3) Get the RSS Feed to retain all my previous posts. Right now it will only show the five newest at any given time (in any RSS Reader).
I apologize about the multiple posts. I'm just completely at a loss as to where to go next and there seems to be no information about this specific problem anywhere on the web (I've done a lot of searching). I thought posting something that simply and concisely explained my problem would be beneficial.
BTW I only began using Feedburner because I wanted my RSS Feed to display multiple images (at this point, I'd settle for one) and I read this article: http://allaboutiweb.com/index.php/2008/09/better-rss-iweb/
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's just to tell me these things can't be done with iWeb. At this point, I really don't know.

I'm trying to use a feed provided by libsyn:
feed://podcastdoctor.libsyn.com/rss
And it is giving me the same errors as mentioned in this thread:
There was a problem updating the group titled TabName in course CourseTitle - the url http://media.libsyn.com/media/podcastdoctor/40Dr._Rudi_Ansbacher_-Menopause.mp3 could not be read
I don't have control over the libsyn feed, and cannot tell if:
1) the redirect on the media file is the cause
2) the xml feed is invalid (libsyn support said it was OK).
The frustrating thing is this feed is used in the Apple Store on the Podcasting side... so I am not sure why it won't also work in iTunesU.
