JSP application module releasemodule

I encounter some problems in my JSP pages. When I start my server the first time everything works fine, but when I visit some other pages sometimes I got this error without any reason:
Application Error
Return
Error Message: null
I think it has something to do with the releasemode of the application module. Some pages has the releasemode set to statefull because I have to pass a whole rowset to the next page. Can I pass a whole rowset to the next page with releasemode set to stateless??
Another thing that looks strange to me is that the rowset you selected is saved in the viewobject and not in the datasource. Even if you have 2 datasources with different names on the same viewobject you will always see the same rowset.
If you make a query page and you get some resultrows from your search and then make a second page with just a browse structure. You will see in this browse page only the rows from the query of the previous page and not all the rows in the table, even if I write this <jbo:RefreshDataSource datasource="ds" />
How is this possible, it seems to me that the RefreshDataSource tag is not working!!!
So how can I refresh a datasource so that I can see all the rows of the table again????
thanx,
Lieven

I have made these 2 test pages. When I make a search in test1.jsp and so get a part of the table as resultset and then go the test2.jsp I only see that part of the table in test2.jsp. What do I have to change or which function do I have to call to see the whole table in test2.jsp??? Changing the releasemode is not a solution because it has to stay on statefull for another part of my website.

  • Application modules in jsp uix jdeveloper9i

    I have an application module with customer table as the top driving table to get customer information. I have a seperate application module that has phone table as the top driving table in a master detail to my customer. I now want to take the customer number from the customer table based off the phone search and pass it to my other application module, so that I can edit that customer. I can not find a way to pass customer number from the same customer table in one application module to another application module. I have to keep these seperate so I can search by phone number or customer number. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried nested modules, and passing values between jsp pages but get error with rowkey.

  • How to configure Application module pooling?

    I want to know wheather bc4j container itself manages Application module pooling if yes then please tell me is there any file to set parameters for congiguration like one which we have for apache web server.
    If no then please let me know how to create applicatiom module pooling.
    Thanks in advance.

    Application module pooling is configurable through an application module configuration. In order to edit an application module configuration you may right click an application module and select Configurations...
    The BC4J data web beans and the BC4J JSP datatags are both application pool clients. The BC4J documentation includes descriptions of the application pool properties. The documentation also includes a code sample which illustrates how to write your own pool client.

  • Error on deploying JSP web module

    Hi,
    I've created a JSP web module that consumes a web service. I'm following this tutorial
    [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0cf9e42-ccb0-2c10-d0a4-f5aa8a79e19a?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0cf9e42-ccb0-2c10-d0a4-f5aa8a79e19a?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
    But when I deploy my ear project, I had this error
    Application error occurred during the request procession.
    Details:   com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.exceptions.WebIOException:
    Error compiling [/sample.jsp] of alias [LocalDevelopmentdc_webmodulesap.com] of J2EE application [sap.com/dc_webmoduleear].
    Exception id: [001CC43ABAC00086000056FB00006CEA0004A5A7E1A64FD3]
    Here's the java code in the JSP:
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    WS_Preview obj = (WS_Preview).ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/newproxy");
    WS_PreviewViDocument port = (WS_PreviewViDocument)obj.getLogicalPort("Config1Port_Document",WS_PreviewViDocument.class);
    GetElementXHTMLValueResponse result = new GetElementXHTMLValueResponse();
    result = port.GetElementXHTMLValue("A","A","A");
    out.print(result);
    Does anyone know how to solve this error? Thanks

    Because you do not have an infrastructure database, you will not be able to deploy your web service from OEM as one of its steps is to register the service in the UDDI registy - the Web service deployment and UDDI registration are tied tightly together in OEM right now.
    All is not lost, however. You have two routes to deploy the Web Service on Oracle9iAS:
    1. Use DCM, which is the command line interface to deploy applications/webservices/wars/ears on Oracle9iAS. It does not have the dependency on UDDI.
    To deploy a Web service using DCM, say your Web service ear file were named test.ear your deployment command would look something like:
    c:\oracle\ora903\dcm\bin\dcmctl deployApplication -file test.ear
    See the doc for much more detail to let you tailor DCM to do all the stuff that is available through EM or specific to your application:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97329_03/core.902/a92171/dcm.htm#643834
    2. In JDeveloper 9.0.3, there is a DCM Servlet that lets you do remote deployment to Oracle9iAS:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/readme_9031.html#viadcm
    I suspect your deployment problem from Oracle9i JDeveloper may be (this may be an incorrect assumption) due to trying to use a connection that is setup as if Oracle9iAS is a standalone OC4J.

  • Displaying a photo obtained from SAP R/3  in a Web Application Module

    Hi,
    I am currently developing a Web Application Module (through NWDS) which displays details of employees (name, last name, picture, etc...) obtained from a RFC function module called remotely through SAP JCA connector.
    I could obtain the picture passed through the RFC module, but now I need to displayed in a JSP page. I first start to look for a service which allows me to upload the picture to an application server cache as I have already done with
    IWDCachedWebResource
    in Web Dynpro development, but could not find anything alike. Then I tried to upload the picture to a relatively referenciable (Web Application) path, that I can use as a source for the IMG HTML tag, but I am just able to save the picture at the root directory of the application server (/usr/sap/SID/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0) and this path can not (and must not) be referenced through my application JSP.
    Please any help or workaround will be gladly welcome
    Best regards,
    Jonathan

    Ravi,
    We have tried the same from SOAP UI client also and it is not working,
    same result as PI. But I repeat the Service is working from DOTNET applications.
    If it is not working in SOAP UI then it will not work in PI also. I suggest you to re-import the WSDL in you .net application and check.
    Regards,
    Ramesh

  • Best practice for application module  for scalability

    if i compare application module with forms 6i runtime session.(correct me if i wrong)
    In forms 6i, we create for single form for purchase entry. in which we select table like po , po_item, item_master, customer master
    also single form for sales entry. in which we select table like sales , sales_item, item_master, customer master, po , po_item
    So my question is. in jdeveloper , we planning to make separate jsp page and applicaiton module for purchase entry,
    separare jsp page and application module for sales.
    is it ok.
    or
    what is the best practice in this senario.?? ( or in scalability senario)
    if i made one single application module for whole application (let say 300 entity's(tables)) will performance of my app server degrade.

    I have successfully deployed the sample ONLINEORDERS application to TOMCAT without any problem but this application somehow refuses to work.
    Is there anyone who encountered similar problems?

  • Invalid arguments in call for an Application Module

    We are writing a web-app which has two packages in our BC4J project, each with an Application Module. One of these app modules contains business components for objects owned by the user ILOGNET and the other for objects owned by the user EAGLE. We are allowing users to logon and connect to the database as themselves by specifying username and password dynamically as attributes of each instance of both application modules.
    The problem we are having is that for a particular JSP sometimes when we deploy, we get an "invalid arguments in call" error. Other times, it doesn't seem to be a problem. The user I am testing with has Oracle roles that have privileges to view all the necessary objects. I'm just not sure why it seems to be temperamental like this. Does anyone have any ideas ? The code for the problem JSP is shown below.
    Thanks for any help :

    Regards,
    Joe Mellors

    I'd forgotten all about this until now when it just happened again. Seems strange that it works fine a lot of the time. It only seems to happen with one of the two Application Module's in the project.
    Here is the call stack. I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Joe

  • Creating an application module in a Java class

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to create an application module from a normal Java class where I don't have access to any HttpSession objects.
    I tried to use the method in the documentation
    appMod = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(
                        "full.class.Name",
                        "ConfigurationName");
    It's not working though, complaining that it can not find the configuration file which it's trying to locate at full/class/common/bc4j.xcfg.
    This file exists at the same path in the BC4J project which this project has a dependency on in the Project Settings dialog.
    Is this the right way to create an application module? Can someone please provide a reference to an example.
    Thanks

    Thanks Frank, but this example is about a stand-alone application, my problem occurs with an application hosted on the application server.
    I did more experiments and came up with some ideas but unfortunately, I hit a dead end.
    I thought that in order to work around the fact that I cannot set the class loader of the timer, I could change the class loader of the running thread before I create the timer as follows:
    Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(
              this.getClass().getClassLoader());
    I thought this would give me a SecurityException for sure, but strangely enough it worked perfectly.
    Now, all I needed was to move this code from the JSP to my listener. Unfortunately, it didn't work in the listener, also a test that I did in the JSP to make sure that the classloader before and after the above statment is different, showed that in the listener, the classloader of the thread is the same as the one used to load the listener class:
    System.out.println(Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader()
              .equals(this.getClass().getClassLoader()));
    I thought, maybe this is a listener thing, but if I do it in the init() method of a servlet that I could specify to load on startup, it could work, but still, it didn't.
    I cannot understand, why is it that the only correct class loader is the one used to load the compiled JSP class?!
    Does anyone have any other ideas?
    Thanks

  • Deployment of OA Project in R12.2 - Could not load application module

    I have deployed a project that is working without issue in JDeveloper to a R12.2 environment, but I am receiving the following error on loading of the page.  This seems to be a common problem as I have another issue with deploying OA Framework projects in R12.2  Is anyone else using R12.2 or has seen this in any other R12 instance?  Anything developed in 11.5.10 first and "upgraded" to the latest JDeveloper is working fine, but so far nothing developed directly in R12.2 JDeveloper works in the environment.

    Try bouncing your server and then test it again.Generally this error comes due to uncompiled jsp files.Bounce Apache Server and then check.

  • BC4J Application Module Pooling for JClient App

    Helo,
    i wonder why all documentation about bc4j application module pooling available is for Web app ? (jsp) . I'm creating swing JClient app and i need some doc about how the application module pooling works in this kind of application.
    anybody know where can i get those docs ?
    Need help and Thank you,
    Ricky H.P.

    Connection pooling can be achieved when a JVM instance manages the pool, in 3tiers the Java App. Server has that task.
    If you are 2tiers that means that you are communicating with the database through JDBC.
    When a user launches your JClient app in fact he lauches his own JVM instance so I don't how he could share a pool with other users.
    In your case you have at most 2 open transactions per user.
    You can achieve that by sharing a same binding context with n forms composed of m panels.
    Let's say:
    1 main form
    connection 1: forms a,b,c
    connection 2: forms x,y,z
    In your main form your open your 2 connections and share them.
    You can achieve that by:
    1) in our main form, initialize 2 binding containers
    Example of one:
    DCBindingContainer bc1 = this.createBindingContainer("package name","model name");
    private DCBindingContainer createBindingContainer(String packageName, String panelModelName)
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(packageName);
    sb.append(ViewConstants.STRING_DOT);
    sb.append(panelModelName);
    DCBindingContainerDef bcdef = DCBindingContainerDef.findDefObject(sb.toString()); //NOTE THE NAME.
    if (bcdef == null)
    throw new JboException("System error, "+getClass().getName()+".createBindingContainer, DCBindingContainerDef: "+sb.toString()+" not found");
    DCBindingContainer bc = bcdef.createBindingContainer(panelBinding.getBindingContext());
    bc.setName(panelModelName);
    panelBinding.getBindingContext().put(panelModelName, bc);
    return bc;
    2) Before that the jbInit method gets called in the called form, set the binding context:
    form1 = new Form1(...);
    form1.setBindingContainer(bc1) ;
    Example of methods in form 1 and form 2:
    public void setBindingContainer(DCBindingContainer ctr)
    this.panelBinding = (JUPanelBinding)ctr;
    setBindingContext(ctr.getBindingContext());
    public void setBindingContext(BindingContext bindCtx)
    if (panelBinding.getPanel() == null)
    panelBinding = panelBinding.setup(bindCtx, this);
    registerProjectGlobalVariables(bindCtx);
    panelBinding.refreshControl();
    try
    System.out.println("Form setBindingContext calling jbInit");
    jbInit();
    panelBinding.refreshControl();
    // FL added
    isBindingContextSet = true;
    System.out.println("Form isBindingContextSet true");
    catch(Exception ex)
    System.out.println("Form setBindingContext exception caught");
    panelBinding.reportException(ex);

  • Single session for all Application Modules

    Hello,
    I've got an application that has several Application Modules. All these modules need some data that are set from time to time. I've written some code that calls getSession().getUserData().put("myData",myData). After this method was called in another Application Module i want to retrieve myData with getSession().getUserData().get("myData"). But the result depends if I use 2-tier or 3-tier. In 2-tie I get myData while in 3-tier I get null. My question is:
    Is there a Session object or any other data instance that could be accessed from all Application Modules for on application instance.
    E.g. I've got two user (A,B) who start my application. Through using my app several instance of Application Modules are created. All Application Modules that are created for the instance of User A should be able to share his user name and some other dynamic data while the Application Modules created for B should have no access to that data.
    Doe anybody know if static data of an Application Module are a possible solution?
    regards
    Joerg

    Hi Joerg,
    I am not 100% sure what you are trying to achieve, and with which version of JDeveloper/ ADF, technologies (JSP, Swing), etc, but I can tell you that I have been experimenting with single session accounts myself within a rich-client Swing environment, as I have experienced Oracle DBA guys who want to control user authentication via Oracle accounts (I have achieved this via the JCLoginDialog mechanism, and a bit of a hack)... Frank Nemphius (sp?) posted something about a white paper coming out on a related subject but I don't know where he is with that.
    Anyway, I managed to do it in a prototype by nesting several application modules within a Root Application Module that was essentially simply a Container for the other application modules. Using this mechanism I was able to bind my root application module to any panel I wanted and it would inherit the roots Session.
    ie. I used many application modules and it only used one Oracle Session.
    However, my reservations -
    1) This solution was not tested robustly!
    2) I doubt this would be ideal for a distributed app with thousands of users - My solution is for a very complex app, with a limited number of users.
    Finally, I cannot confirm this is a great solution - I can only tell you it worked in my prototype, and I am currently awaiting the ADF source - when my company and Oracle can decide what level of support we currently have and need!?!? - what exactly does being an "Oracle partner" mean??? Its all very boring and un-interesting to a Java person like me... ;-)
    Once I have the source I will look at how it actually works and perhaps be able to answer questions like this more definitively. Hmm - I wonder if I could get the Oracle JDBC driver source too?? .... Is it written in C or C++?? I know them too... ;-)
    Cheers........Dean

  • Accessing application module instances directly from the AMPool

    Hi!
    I´m want to create an Application Module Pool Monitor, actually I need to know how many fetched rows an Application Module instance has.
    I made a jsp, that do the following:
    ApplicationPool pool = (ApplicationPool)poolMgr.getResourcePool(poolname);
    int instanceCount = pool.getInstanceCount();
    for (int i = 0; i < instanceCount; i++){
    ApplicationModule am = pool.getInstance(i);
    and then works with the am instances, calculating the rows that each VO has fetched.
    Now, It is not yet clear to me if, when I use "pool.getInstance(i)",
    I'm locking the instance that is being use by another session (an user session), or trying to get a lock,
    and possibly creating a deadlock. Or the AMPool administrates the lock and I don´t need to worry about it.
    Thank in advance, and sorry for my bad english!
    (i forgot to mention, I´m using adf - bc 10.1.2 )

    Sure, we are having RAM problems, sometimes, and for reasons that are still unclear, a process begins to consume memory.
    What we need rigth now, is a tool that tell us how many rows in memory has each user, and which ViewObject is creating them. The idea is to make some kind of monitor that shows that, the AM that each user has, an the state of their VOs.
    I used the JSP in this page as a reference:
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/05/10/gettingApplicationModulePoolStatisticsToAidWithSizeTuning.html
    I´m not trying to create a new AM management mechanism, simply a tool that shows the status of the application (and perhaps allows me, for instance, to clear the cache of a VO that has to many rows fetched).
    In my JSP I obtain an instance of the AMs using "pool.getInstance(i)", and access then the associated VOs. But I don´t know if accesing the AMs this way could create problems with users that have an AM assigned to them, for example, a deadlock.
    Thanks!
