  • CHART BUILDER ERROR WHEN TRYING TO GENERATE DYNAMIC CHARTS ON A JSP PAGE

    I'm working with J Develop 9.03 on Windows 2000 Professional Edition.
    I'm using the JSP demo files provided with Oracle Chart Builder to generate
    dynamic charts. The user specifies the query parameters, including the date
    range and the query results are returned by means of a line chart (with date on
    the x axis and values on the y axis).
    When trying to compile the project I get the following error messages:
    Error(165,2): class FileOutputStream not found in class _graph
    Error(170,5): class File not found in class _graph
    Error(176,4): exception java.io.IOException is never thrown in the
    corresponding try block
    I checked to see that the chartbuilder library (chartbuilder.jar) files are
    loaded into the project library. It's unusual that the class is not being
    found. I don't understand why. I developed my project using the following steps:
    1. Unzipped Chart Builder installation files into c:\Oraclechartbuilder
    2. Loaded chartbuilder class library
    c:\Oraclechartbuilder\chartbuilder\lib\chartbuilder.jar into J Developer class
    path (by selecting <Project Settings> <Paths> and browsing to the
    chartbuilder.jar file).
    3. Created a new JSP page in J Developer (graph.jsp)
    4. Copied JSP code syntax from the Word Pad demo file and pasted into graph.jsp
    5. Changed the DB connection parameters and static directory location on the
    JSP page.
    6. Compiled the project and received the above errors.
    I would like to know why the classes are not being found and how to fix the problem. Thanks, Jaafar

    Hi mshah101,
    This can happen if the applet is compiled using an higher version of java and the browser is pointing to an older version (even if minor version number is higher)

  • How to use JSP custom tag lib in PAR file?

    Hi All,
    I am trying to customize mastheaderpar file. For that I have downloaded relevant par file and making the changes accordingly.
    As part of the changes I would require to use JSP custom tag library in my par file.
    I have the TLD file and relevant classes in the jar file. I would like to know where and what kind of modifications have to be done to use the jsp custom tag library.
    I tried modifying some things in portalapp.xml but was not successful.
    Please help me on how to proceed with this? It would be great if you can provide the xml entry to use this tag library
    Thanks
    Santhosh

    Hi Johny,
    Thanks for the reply. Actually I am able to change colors etc. with out any problem.
    My requirement is to use XMLTaglib in mastheader par file. This tag lib is from apache tomcat. I have the relevant TLD and class files. I copied TLD file into taglib dir of portal-inf and class file in src api.
    And I have added the following line in portalapp.xml under component-profile section of default
    <property name="tlxtag" value="/SERVICE/Newmastheader/taglib/taglibs-xtags.tld">
    Is this the right way to use tag lib? Actually before adding this line I used to get the error saying "Error parsing taglib", but now the error does not occur and I am getting new error. This is an exception in one of the taglib classes.
    Could any one provide me some inputs on how to check this error?
    Thanks
    Santhosh

    Hi
    I think that It's because of some confilict between packages, try to set more priority for your jar files in tomcat.bat file as below :
    set cp=%CLASSPATH%
    set CLASSPATH=.
    set CLASSPATH=%TOMCAT_HOME%\classes
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\webserver.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\jasper.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\xml.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TOMCAT_HOME%\lib\servlet.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%JAVA_HOME%\lib\tools.jar
    if "%cp%" == "" goto next
    set CLASSPATH=%cp%;%CLASSPATH%

  • JSP cannot be found Error when trying to Priview an Iview made of a PAR fil

    We created a project using the Netweaver Developer Studio including our code (the jsps, required libraries with it).We then created our PAR file and deployed it on the Portal using the PDK. After this we created a Iview using the PAR which we had deployed. When we tried to priview the IView it gave us an error saying the JSP could not be found . We have checked the PCD (Portal Content Directory ) and found the Jsp deployed at the right place . It could be a problem with the Path Configuration . Does anyone have any idea about how to go about resolving this issue?
    (I am also attaching the error message from the server log file.)

    That sounds like the equivalent of a FileNotFoundException.
    ie you have told it the rpt file to load, and it can't find it.
    1 - check the spelling of the filename
    2 - where have you put the file?
    3 - What is your config for this?
    Do you have CRConfig.xml (Crystal 11) or CrystalReportEngine-config.xml(Crystal 10) in your WEB-INF/classes directory?
    That file tells it where to find the rpt files.
    I think the default is WEB-INF/lib for some reason.
    I keep my reports in the WEB-INF/reports directory
    Mine looks something like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><CrystalReportEngine-configuration>
        <reportlocation>../reports</reportlocation>
        <timeout>10</timeout>

  • JSP - LoadBundle and Component Error in Visual Design Editor

    Hi.
    I've tried to make simple international JSF application. So the first thing to do was to externalize strings from JSP to resources. According to instructions from Java Studio Creator Field Guide Chapter 13:
    http://developers.sun.com/members/promo/jscreator/bookshelf/fieldguide2_preview_13_customizing.pdf
    I added LoadBundle component to my JSP page:
    <f:loadBundle basename="myApp.Bundle" var="messages1"/>
    and set a text property of label component like this:
    <ui:label binding="#{Page1.label1}" id="label1" labelLevel="1"
    style="position: absolute; left: 144px; top: 48px; width: 240px; height: 24px" text="#{messages1.title}"/>
    There is a line in myApp.Bundle.properties file:
    title = Title from resource bundle
    After changing text property of label component to #{messages1.title} I've got a message:
    Component Error
    Cannot display label component in the Visual Design editor.
    Error message from the component: javax.faces.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Error testing property 'title' in bean of type null.
    Exception message:

    The same problem appears when I open example project from this book:
    Login2I18N-Alt
    It is a bug or am I doing something wrong?
    greatings

    go to Tools/Update Center and download the latest
    version of the components. It will solve the
    problem.Thanks, it works. But there is still one drawback - Visual Designer doesn't show any text inside label. If I remove all strings from JSP to resource file I will get an empty page!
    Is there any solution of this problem?
