JSP created by JDeveloper 3.0

I am trying to deploy some JSPs that use Business Components (created with the
help of the various wizards). The JSPs work fine in JDeveloper, but when I deploy the pages to JavaWebServer 2.0, I get a 404 error for a URL ending with "/null".
Playing around with the page, I found that the problem is within a method call:
oracle.jbo.html.jsp.JSPApplicationRegistry.registerApplicationFromPropertyFile
Apparently it can't find my .properties file. I've tried several different locations, all with no success.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Thanks for the help, but it still doesn't work. I verified that the properties file is on the classpath.
Disclaimer: I am not a Java "expert", but, through experimentation and help from another post (see below), I figured out the following:
There seem to be two interrelated problems with the deployment:
The first is within the JSPApplicationRegistry class itself. The code:
InputStream in = ClassLoader.getSystemResourceAsStream(sConfigPath);
appears to be one of the problems. Replacing it with the code:
JSPApplicationRegistry.class.getResourceAsStream(sConfigPath);
appears to fix the first problem. At least with the new code I now get "Application Error" pages rather than references to null pages.
The second problem appears to be in the specification of the path of the properties file. The properties file is located, in this case, in JSPDBTest1.jar. Within the jar, it is contained in the folder JSPDBTest1. Changing the filename specification in "main.jsp" from
"JSPDBTest1_AppModule" to
"/JSPDBTest1/JSPDBTest1_AppModule" fixes the problem for main.jsp (at least it seems to work correctly).
However, when I try to link to any other jsp (for example, empview.jsp, which has been modified in the same manner as main.jsp) I get:
Error Message: JSP Registry could not locate runtime property
file:JSPDBTest1_AppModule.properties
Please note that the "/JSPDBTest1/" portion of the path is missing from the above...and it appears that the check for "already registered" failed(?)
I will admit that I'm probably WAY too deep, and modifying vendor-supplied routines isn't what I normally do in this case. There is a topic posted by [email protected] "Can't use databeans in other envierments" (sic) regarding what appears to be the same problem, along with a solution similar to what I tried. This post was dated 11/30/99, and had no replies to it.
In any event, I feel that I shouldn't have to modify the generated jsp in order to deploy it. Yes, the generated jsp does work under JDeveloper...but I need to deploy into the real world, and I can't get it to work.
Thanks,
Walter Mosscrop

  • To retieve tasks when user tasks are created using Jdeveloper BPELDesigner

    I am trying to get the list of tasks which are created using Jdeveloper BPel designer.
    I have used the following code :
    Locator loc = new Locator("default","bpel");
              IWorklistService taskService = (IWorklistService)loc.lookupService(IWorklistService.SERVICE_NAME);
    ITask[] tasks = taskService.listTasksByAssignee("rekha");
    if(tasks!=null){
    for (int j = 0; j < tasks.length; j++) {
    ITask thisTask = tasks[j];
    out.println("Task Title " + thisTask.getTitle() +"Assignee:"+thisTask.getAssignee()+"$$$$"+"\n");
    but its not returning any tests.
    But the same code works for the tasks which are created through sample bpel processes which are provided by oracle which uses TaskManager service.
    But the Jdeveloper bpel designer user task creates service which is TaskActionHandler..
    please help me how can I get the List of tasks for a particular user for this problem
    Please help me ............

    There is sample code that is supposed to do this here: http://www.codeguru.com/cpp/sample_chapter/article.php/c10789__12/
    I have tried using the login-style task retrieval with the oracle.tip.pc packages - this works logging in as, for example, fkafka.
    Working Code:
    IWorklistContext ctx = wlSvc.authenticateUser("fkafka", "welcome");
    Map filterMap = new HashMap();
    filterMap.put(IWorklistService.FILTER_TYPE_TASK_FILTER,
    IWorklistService.TASK_FILTER_MY);
    filterMap.put(IWorklistService.FILTER_TYPE_STATUS_FILTER, IWorklistService.STATUS_FILTER_ASSIGNED);
    String keywords = "";
    java.util.List tasks = wlSvc.getWorklistTasks(ctx, keywords, filterMap, IWorklistService.SORT_FIELD_TASK_TITLE, IWorklistService.SORT_ORDER_ASCENDING);
    Using the sample code and retrieving tasks with
    ITask[] tasks = worklist.listTasksByAssignee("fkafka");
    returns nothing, however.
    (&lt;h1>&lt;%= tasks.length %> tasks waiting for approval&lt;/h1>
    Prints: ' 0 tasks...' )
    I notice that the JDeveloper generated JSPs use the oracle.tip.pc packages - seeing as I'm deploying to the same BPEL server I guess I don't need to worry about the other methods of access (i.e. remote) so hopefully I can manage my workflow app with the oracle.tip.pc packages only.

  • Error while importing WSDL file created in JDeveloper inside BS

    Hi All,
    I am facing error while importing WSDL of the DBAdapter service created using JDeveloper inside my business service in OSB.
    The error in OSB is 'The Resource Mapped Does not exist'

    Which version of OSB are you using? You need to upload schema (.xsd) files as well. WSDL has references to that schema(s) but they are not uploaded hence this error. On sbconsole, if you click on a WSDL name to see it, a button comes with name "Edit References". Click that to point to the xsd's you uploaded.

  • Jsp:useBean giving error while compiling JSP's in JDeveloper

    Hello,
    I am having another problem with JSP's in JDeveloper 10.1.3. jsp:useBean and jsp:setProperty are all giving problems. I am not sure what I need to do to get rid of this error
    Thanks,
    Lakshmisri

    Your original post mentions issues with jsp:useBean and jsp:setProperty, now you're talking about tag libraries and directives. Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do? Are you having problems getting JDev to recognize a tag library or are you having problems with the tag library when running the app? What directive are you trying to use that causes the termination error?

  • [Error running JSP portlet in JDeveloper

    I'm writing a JSP portlet with JDeveloper 9.0.3.
    The "index.jsp" works OK, and I can see the registration URL for my new provider.
    I deploy the application to Oracle9iAS 9.0.2.0.1 Application Server succesfully throught DCM servlet, register the new provier and I can run the portlet succesfully.
    But if I try to run the "pasa_parametroShowPage.jsp" inside the Jdeveloper, I get an HTTP 500 Error :
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         void htdocs.pasa__parametro._pasa__parametroShowPage._jspService(javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest, javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse)

              pasa_parametroShowPage.jsp:12
    Line 12 is:
    Hello <%= pReq.getUser().getName() %>
    Thanks in advance.

    In order to successfully run, "pasa_parametroShowPage.jsp" must be called in a portal context - JDeveloper does not do this.
    Therefore, when called from JDeveloper, the PortletRenderRequest object is not present, hance the null pointer exception.
    You shouldn't attempt to run this JSP directly from with in jdev. You'll notice that if you point a browser directly at that JSP, you will get the same null pointer exception.
    If you need to debug this JSP in jdev, you can use a portal instance **or** the test harness (http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/TESTSUITE/PDKTEST/PDKTEST.ZIP)
    to fire http requests at JDeveloper's embedded OC4J.

  • How to import existing jsp project into jdeveloper

    can someone help me how to import existing jsp project into jdeveloper?
    can give me step by step to import..cause i am new for jdeveloper..
    thank you very much

    Well there are two options - if you have a WAR file with the code in it, then you can use the file->import WAR.
    Or you can use the new->Project from source code.
    Note that you'll probably need to do some library settings and some directory setting after that.
    Have a look at this demo for basic steps:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/NBtoJDevProject/NBtoJDevProject.html

  • Is it true that JSP creates Servlet java code?

    I am working with JSP.
    My web server is tomcat.
    Is it true that JSP creates Servlet java code of JSP files when it executes? If so how can I view them?

    Yes..it is true..
    to find out..do this..
    on purpose leave a bug in ur jsp that will generate a compilation error. So in ur browser some exception will be shown.That exception message will have the clue to the java file (e.g
    error in compiling _XYZ.java).You can manually search for this file..
    (If the copilation is successful, then this java file is deleted by the server.)

  • How to create graphs on JSP page in JDeveloper 10.1.3

    Hi all,
    Is there an easy way to create graph objects with JDeveloper 10.1.3? I have taken a look to some tutorials, but it looks like they all use the "drag/drop graph from the data control palette" method.
    E.g. I got example 88 to work from http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html, but I have no idea how to get the BIGraphDef1.xml object and how to link it to a set of data.
    Are there some tutorials to show how graphs can be used in JDev 10.1.3?

    Frank,
    This is what I did to implement the graphic manual, but I think, I forgot something...
    1. create a new application with projects DataModel and UserInterface
    2. in the DataModel I created a similar master/detail view as the one of Steve, this is named:
    TestModuleDataControl
    \--DepView
    __\--Deptno
    __\--Dname
    __\--Loc
    __\--EmpView1
    ____\--Sal
    3. I created a new jspx page and added a graph tag:
    <f:verbatim>
    <graph:Graph data="${bindings.DepartmentsEmployeesInDepartmentGraph}"
    imageHeight="200" imageWidth="400"/>
    </f:verbatim>
    4. in the page definitions I added
    <graph id="DepartmentsEmployeesInDepartmentGraph"
    IterBinding="EmployeesInDepartmentIterator"
    ControlClass="oracle.dss.graph.Graph"
    SeriesLabel="Ename"
    GraphPropertiesFileName="userinterface.BIGrap1hDef1"
    SeriesType="SINGLE_SERIES">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Sal"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </graph>
    5. I added also the iterator:
    <iterator id="EmployeesInDepartmentIterator" Binds="EmpView1" RangeSize="10"
    DataControl="TestModuleDataControl"/>
    6. I copy/pasted the BIGraphDef1.xml from Steve's project into 'Application Sources'\userinterface.
    7. in the web.xml file in WEB-INF I added:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>GraphGeneratorServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>oracle.jbo.html.jsp.graph.GraphGeneratorServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>GraphGeneratorServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/GraphGeneratorServlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    8. when I run the page, I can't see the graph and there are also no errors. I think I mis a global setting somewhere...
    Is there anything I forgot to do?
    note: if I add a new jsp page into steve's application, I do can see the graph if I perform the steps mentioned above...
    I just found out that, If I create the graph on a page which is in the root directory, then it works. If I put it in a subdirectory, it doesn't:
    - create graph as mentioned above on a page: web content/myGraph.jspx --> works
    - create graph as mentioned above on a page: web content/app/myGraph.jspx --> doesn't work...
    Does somebody know where to put a setting/parameter to get the Graph visible in the subdirectory app?

  • JSP Report in Jdeveloper 9.0.3.1!!!

    Hi,
    I've a BC4J jsp application developed by Jdeveloper 9.0.3.1. I need to include a jsp report in my project.
    Is it possible to do it? How?
    If this is impossible, how can I create a "pdf" format report (or something of similar)?
    Tanks in advance.

    Harald,
    We just got Apache's XSL_FO transformer, XML into PDF working under 902 oc4j.
    It's a CPU hog, as one would guess.
    Do you know if the tools you mentioned use a more CPU effiicient technology than XSL transform or are more
    efficient than Apache's XSL_FO?
    Thanks, curt

    Copy the jdev_home/jlib/redist/uix2_install.zip file to
    jdev_home/jdev/redist folder . It will overwrite an existing uix2_install.zip file.
    Close and open the Jdeveloper IDE. It will prompt you for upgradation of projects. Press OK button in response.
    Now you should be able to run the JSP pages.

  • IStore JSP customization from JDeveloper

    Hi, I am new to iStore and i am trying to setup JDeveloper to customize JSP pages. I found a metalink note on copying files to JDeveloper for 11i (Doc Id:419887.1) but not for R12, so i tried to find the similar directory structure and copied all the classes, jsps, css and images from the App server to JDeveloper project.
    I am trying to execute a sample jsp (TestDbcConn.jsp) as suggested in the article and getting the following error while running it. I have verified the DB connection through SQL developer and it connects. Am I missing some configuration or setup here?
