JSP: Focus on textfield after default value

Hi all
i have a JSP/Struts Web Application. When i start it i would like to put the focus on the textfield but after the default value that is written in the textfield. At the moment the focus is alreday put on the textfield, but it's before the default value not after it.
Somebody has an idea?
Thanks a lot
Angela

JSP can't make the browser do what the browser can't do.

  • How to default value in collection after intial collection field entered

    Hi there,
    Am working on gettting to know collections but not really had much to do with them so far.
    I have a multi row data entry screen that works great using a collection. Now the boss has decided that the new records require a default value that the users can overwrite if required.
    The value i need to default is the second field in the collection but i only want to populate the value after the first field in the collection has been entered.
    Could anyone talk me through how i do this please or point me to any relevant documents.
    Cheers
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,
    If you want to default value only after user enters data in another row column, you ll have to write a javascript code that executes after the column is entered
    If you have jQuery(already included in apex 4.0) it would make the task of accessing that other column easy.
    Otherwise its much more harder work to get I can think of setting the ID's using the pitem_id_* while rendering the editable fields(set it for both the columns..say as COL1_ROWNUM , COL2_ROWNUM ) using APEX_ITEM. Then add an onblur event(using the html attributes parameter of APEX_ITEM api) call a JS function with the rownumber(to identify the row). You can then write the logic for default value inside the function and set the corresponding column with the value.
    If you can update about your version and/or if you use any JS libraries, it would be easier to help you any further.

  • Default value for first row in table after row has rendered

    I have a master-detail type page where the first row in the detail table appears with no values when the page first renders. After the user enters some data in the master area, the default value is available. I then use something like this to set the default in one column of the first row:
    MyVOImpl vo = (MyVOImpl)am.getMyVO1();
    MyRowImpl voRow = (MyRowImpl)vo.first();
    voRow.setMyAttribute("some value");
    When I do this and run the code in the debugger, I can see that the default value is stored somewhere in the row object. However, the value is not displayed in the screen.
    What must I do to get the default value to display after the user has tabbed out of the master data area, and before the user attempts to enter data in the row?

    Hi. Thanks again.
    Here is more detail of the code:
    if (pageContext.isLovEvent())
    * Form was submitted because the user selected
    * a value from the LOV modal window,
    * or because the user tabbed out of the LOV input.
    * This code executes when the event is either
    * LOV_UPDATE or LOV_VALIDATE
    String lovInputSourceId = pageContext.getParameter(SOURCE_PARAM)
    // Find out the result values of the LOV.
    Hashtable lovResults =
    pageContext.getLovResultsFromSession(lovInputSourceId);
    // Find out which LOV input triggered the event.
    if (lovInputSourceId.equals("myLovItemId"))
    String myDefaultVar = null;
    if (lovResults != null)
    myDefaultVar = "some stuff " + (String)lovResults.get("myResultItemId")
    if (myDefaultVar != null && myDefaultVar != "") // yes, this is always true in this case
    // now set the default for the first line.
    // Added lines will be defaulted by the
    // EO.create() method.
    MyVOImpl myVo = (MyVOImpl)am.getMyVO1();
    MyVORowImpl myVoRow = (MyVORowImpl)myVo.first();
    myVoRow.setAttribute("myRowItemId", myDefaultVar); // THIS LINE DOES NOT CAUSE DISPLAY TO CHANGE
    The problem, as noted in the code, is that setAtrribute() does not cause the default value to display in the field.
    What can cause this, and what can fix it?

  • USOBT_C almost empty after changing default values with SU24

    After the implementation of OSS Notes 0001378328, 0001382895 and 0001404093 I performed a change in SU24 on the default values of authorization object (2nd tab) S_ALV_LAYO for all transactions involved.
    I filtered all transactions with default value u2018Yesu2019 for this object and selected all these entries and changed them to u2018Nou2019.
    When creating new roles afterwards I noticed that no objects were pulled in in PFCG and when checking table USOBT_C I noticed that, apart from the 328 records I changed to No for S_ALV_LAYO the whole table was empty! In the development client  there are now just 328 records in this table whereas in de acceptance client there are 233,124 entries!
    Could you please find out the following:
    -          How could this happen?
    -          What can I do to restore table USOBT_C?
    I reported this bug also on OSS but maybe someone of you has had the same experience and can share the causes and solutions.
    Thank you!

    read and then posted the message. Also as I was not sure of solution to this particular error I surrendered in advance [mainly for you ]. • Textarea default value disappears after a second in version 11, why?

    I use default value in html form element, textarea.

    But not in firefox 11 and firefox 3, the default value disappears after a second just like a flash.

  • After FF update the page setup is gone and back to default values

    we use FF as default browser for our web application (desktop), delivering it as default browser on the hardware we deliver and as the advised web browser for desktops.
    The very annoying thing is that after updates to newest versions (it lately happened with update to FF 24) the page settings are not kept.
    Instead they are back to the default values as if it was a new installation. We use the page settings to have clean prints. That is: without disturbing headers and footers and with margins to 0 (zero).
    I 've been searching for a while why this happens and could find a solution. As customers are vigorously complaining now, we have to reconsider our browser policy.

    0.03937" isn't that 1mm?
    Those "size" values will be displayed in inches if the Letter / Legal / other American paper sizes are set, and in mm for the "A" paper sizes used elsewhere. So if someone would be using A4, a 1mm setting would appear as 1.0 - not 0.03937 .
    From what I have seen, only 2 digits after the decimal point should appear. Those ''(or similar)'' with 15 digits has been mentioned frequently here as occurring with broken printer settings.
    As far as "why" with a fresh installation, I have no idea. Any chance your company is using a custom Firefox configuration file (cfg) to set your own default prefs? And those old prefs are configured as the default for all your installations? ''One way to check that would be to create a new Profile and see if those prefs appear automatically in the new Profile before printing anything. No printing prefs should appear as "user set" - or maybe only those??''
    Until a few weeks ago "we" weren't aware that those prefs had changed with Firefox 6.0. This support article - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox - needed to be edited, after a user mentioned that he didn't have the ''older'' preferences and that article was misleading. I started investigating with every version from Firefox 2.0 up to Firefox (Nightly) 27.0, and discovered those prefs had been changed in Firefox 6.0 over 2 1/2 years ago. I had a number of other support contributors verify my findings in the Contributors forum; this article was edited as a result.<br />

  • Load Default Value after CreateInsert.Execute

    Hello all ! this is my first post so be polite ;)
    Well i have this input that is binding to a DataControl
    <af:inputText value="#{bindings.ApiState.label}"
                                          label="#{bindings.ApiState.inputValue}"
                                          required="#{bindings.ApiState.hints.mandatory}"
                                          columns="#{bindings.ApiState.hints.displayWidth}"
                                          maximumLength="#{bindings.ApiState.hints.precision}"
                                          shortDesc="#{bindings.ApiState.hints.tooltip}"
                                          id="ite1"
                                          contentStyle="width:120px;"
                                          rendered="false">
    <f:validator binding="#{bindings.ApiState.validator}"/>
    </af:inputText>I have a button that performs :
    #{bindings.CreateInsert.execute} and my input text goes blank, and what i want is
    1.- The input should load some default value, Ex. INITIAL
    2.- The input it must be read only or hidden.
    Any clue ??

    You missed something in code:
    public void myCreateInsert(){
    Row myRow;
    ViewObject targetVO= findViewObject("<YourViewObject>");
    myRow = targetVO.createRow()
    myRow.setAttribute("<Col>","<Default_Val>");
    targetVO.insertRow(myRow);
    It would be simpler though to override create method in viewObjectRowImpl to
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList) {
    super.create(attributeList);
    this.set<Attribute>("value");
    or even simpler to just set in view object Attribute properties Value

  • JSP InputSelect default value

    I would like to preset a default value to be displayed by the input select control.
    Thanks in advance
    null

    Step 1:
    create a dynamic view object which returns the set of values for the list.
    <jbo:CreateViewObject appid="<%= sPool %>" name="CgRefCodesView1" >
    SELECT RV_LOW_VALUE AS RV_LOW_VALUE FROM CG_REF_CODES WHERE RV_DOMAIN = 'YESNO' ORDER BY 1 DESC
    </jbo:CreateViewObject>
    <jbo:DataSource id="DS_Lookup_Type1" appid="<%= sPool %>" viewobject="CgRefCodesView1" ></jbo:DataSource>
    Step 2: Get the original value into a variable. And Declare HTML select input type.
    By using rowset iterator every time compare the datasource value(declared in dynamic view object) with the original value. If matched say selected. please follow the code
    below.If you find any problems I will explain
    in detail.
    <%
    String myVar = (String) DS_Master.getRowSet().getCurrentRow().getAttribute("XenograftFlag");
    %>
    <SELECT name="XenograftFlag" >
    <jbo:RowsetIterate datasource="DS_Lookup_Type1">
    <%
    myVar1 = (String) DS_Lookup_Type1.getRowSet().getCurrentRow().getAttribute("RV_LOW_VALUE");
    try {
    if (myVar.equals(myVar1)) {
    %>
    <OPTION SELECTED><jbo:ShowValue datasource="DS_Lookup_Type1" dataitem="RV_LOW_VALUE" />

    Hi Dilek, hi Rest,
    thank you. Regarding include LXPADF01 it is very usefull.
    I found out that there is a form field for the strea on mask. So it would be much more comfortable to set a default setting  BEFORE saving infotype. Just set a default...
    Is it also EXIT_SAPFP50M_001?

  • Date Picker has to submit the default value after the page load???

    Hello All,
    I have 2 date pickers 'Start' and 'End' on a screen with report that has a where clause using above values. Start defaults to current date, End defaults to current month end date, I have another radio group with default to Monthly......
    Now when the page loads, I see the default values for 'Start' and 'End' date pickers but the report doesn't reflect those values. I added an on change dynamic action, and so when I change the value of 'End' date picker, it submits the page and now the values are reflected in the report........
    I tried creating another dynamic action > with event On Page Load.....and disable fire on page load, and to submit the page, this is causing an infinite loop of submitions........can you please tell me how to achieve this with out putting an exclusive submit button on the Screen.......

    You don't have to submit the page here.
    What version of apex?
    What report is it? i.e. Interactive report/Classic report
    Depending on your version of apex you can simply use the Page Items to Submit attribute to set the session state

  • How  to find a default value to AutoComplete Control

    Hi,
    I am using AutoComplete control where i populate it with data from an oData service
    var control= new sap.ui.commons.AutoComplete({
      displaySecondaryValues: true,
      items: {
      path: "/",
      template: new sap.ui.core.ListItem({text:"{NAME}", key:"{HOSPITAL_ID}", additionalText:"{STATE}"})
    This is my implementation in fragment and in on after rendering I want to bind a default value to it.How can I achieve this?
    for e.g.:
    In drop down box I can achieve this with the below code
    _myController.dropDownBox.bindProperty("selectedKey","HOSPITAL_ID");
    I tried with similar approaches for AutoComplete control but I cannot bind value to it..Anyone can suggest a possible solutions please?
    Best Regards,
    Amala Suganya

    Hi,
    if you want to display default value in AutoComplete then you can do it as below,
                    var oAuto1 = new sap.ui.commons.AutoComplete("TextField-1", {
                                    tooltip: "This is an Auto Complete TextField",
                                    change: onChange,
                                   value: aData[5].name,
                                    maxPopupItems: 2,
                                    ariaDescribedBy: "MyDesc",
                                    ariaLabelledBy: "MyLbl"
    value property is used to display default value. alternatively you can use setValue method.
    also refer this example AutoComplete - sap.ui.commons
