Jsp Source Displayed

          I am using Weblogic 5.1 with Service Pack 8
          on a Sun Machine with Sun Solaris 2.6.
          When a request to a Jsp from a browser
          is made with the suffix %00 then the
          JSP source is displayed.
          ex: http://101.201.301.401:5555/index.jsp%00
          Can something be done to avoid this ???
          Thanks in advance.

Not too sure, but I think this is fixed in SP9.

  • Java code in jsp source files is not allowed in ojsp.next mode.

    Hi,
    I’m working on WC Spaces Customization library “com.acme.custom.webcenter.spaces.war”. From time to time, when I deploy the library to WC Server, it errors out.
    weblogic.management.DeploymentException: Cannot undeploy library Extension-Name: com.acme.custom.webcenter.spaces, Specification-Version: 11.1.1, Implementation-Version: 11.1.1.2.113 from server WC_Spaces, because the following deployed applications reference it: webcenter-rest.war, spaces.war, sharepoint-servlet.war, webcenter-rss.war
    If I try to login the Spaces, I get “Java code in jsp source files is not allowed in ojsp.next mode.” Should I stop the Spaces server before the deployment? In this case, other people won’t have accesses to Spaces? The deployment error doesn’t happen all the time.

    I don't think that this error is based on ojsp.next mode. The first error I see is that the application can't be undeployed. After that you get the 'ava code in jsp source files is not allowed in ojsp.next mode.' error. As you said this only happens sometimes which also point to an other problem and not to the jsp error.
    Have you ask this on the {forum:id=354} forum?
    For me it's more a deployment/redeployment question.

  • A Custom Component and the JSP source that get's generated

    I'm writing a Custom Component library and I'm at a point where I need to understand how the JSP source that gets generate when my component is dragged from the palete is created and how it relates to the properties I define in the Metadata files.
    In particular I have a component that is an extension of the DataTable component and I'd like to control what get's dropped onto the page when the user drags over my component.

    See the "Building and Customizing JavaServer Faces Technology Components" technology theme page at http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/themes/buildingjsf/index.html. The Hands-On Examples and "Design-Time API User Guide (pdf)" linked from that page should help.

  • Use an applet in a Jsp to display data from Oracle DB

    Hi everyone, I'm very new to java my question is:
    Is there a way to display an applet like a table within a Jsp to display data from a Oracle DB? The thing is that I would be able to show this applet only at the click of the submit button in my html form.
    Please help me any sample code are welcome
    Thank you in advance
    Fabry

    Hi,
    Why can't you use a Java Bean which takes the data from the database. Then call this bean from the JSP page using <jsp:useBean> tag.
    Ok,if you dont want a Java Bean and if you want to use an applet in a JSP file, you will have to use <jsp:plugin>tag. Here is an example
    <html><head><title> Demo Applet</title></head>
    <body bgcolor="rd">
    <% if (request.getParameter("SUBMIT") != null) {%>
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="DemoApplet.java" codebase="." name="Demo" height="400 with="300>
    <jsp:fallback> Plug in not supported by your browser</jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    </body></html>
    Hope this will help you.

  • How to pass arraylist of object from action class to jsp and display in jsp

    I need to do the following using struts
    I have input jsp, action class and action form associated to that. In the action class I will generate the sql based on the input from jsp page/action form, create a result set. The result set is stored as java objects in a ArrayList object.
    Now I need to pass the arraylist object to another jsp to display. Can I put the ArrayList object in the request object and pass to the success page defined for the action? If this approach is not apprpriate, please let me know correct approach.
    if this method is okay, how can I access the objects from arraylist in jsp and display their property in jsp. This java object is a java bean ( getter and setter methods on it).
    ( need jsp code)
    Can I do like this:
    <% ArrayList objList = (ArrayList)request.getattribute("lookupdata"): %> in jsp
    (***I have done request.setattribute("lookupdata", arraylistobj); in action class. ***)
    Assuming the java object has two properties, can I do the following
    <% for (iint i=0. i<objList.size;I++){ %>
    <td> what should i do here to get the first property of the object </td>
    <td> what should i do here to get the first property of the object </td>
    <% }
    %>
    if this approach is not proper, how can I pass the list of objects and parse in jsp?
    I am not sure what will be the name of the object. I can find out how many are there but i am not sure I can find out the name
    thanks a lot

  • Jsp data display as a result of a button click

    i have a textfield in a jsp along with a SEARCH button. the search button searches the database for the existence of the value entered in the textfield.
    how should i code so that at the click of search button the dbase is searched (for the entered value in textfield).
    the dbase should be searchedonly after the click of search button.
    i wud also like to display the searched value as a table data next to the button. how shud i code it. i coded search logic using a function which is in a javascript. but the function is executing before the press of the search button.
    i'm new to JSPs. please help.. thanks.

    It's covered by every decent JSP/Servlet book/tutorial. With other words, this is too trivial and it proves that you really know nothing about it at all. I then highly recommend to take time first to go through a decent book/tutorial. This forum is to help others with technical coding problems, not to spoonfeed others who cannot write code.
    To start with HTML: [http://www.w3schools.com/html/].
    A nice HTML book: [http://www.amazon.com/HTML-Dummies-Ed-Tittel/dp/076450214X].
    To start with JSP/Servlet: [http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/ (part II chapters 1-8)].
    A nice JSP/Servlet book: [http://www.amazon.com/Head-First-Servlets-JSP-Certified/dp/0596516681].
    It boils down to having a HTML <form>, <input type="text"> and <input type="submit"> in the JSP page and havinig a Servlet with necessary code in the doPost() method which obtains the request parameter, queries the database, stores the result in the request scope and forwards the request to a JSP for display -which on its turn uses JSTL c:forEach to iterate over the list of results.
    Good luck. If you ever have a technical JSP/JSTL question/problem, you're welcome to ask here.

  • How to reveal JSP source code

    I was just wondering if the source code of a JSP page can be viewed any way?
    The JSP gets translated to a servlet, which pretty much generates HTML and only that is visible to the client browser but is there a way around it?
    E.g. would be secure/suicidal to include usernames and passwords to the JSP source code?
    I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

    The HTML delivered will contain only the output from JSP execution -- you're safe there.
    Every JSP when it is compiled produces a .java file that contains that actual servlet code. There is a risk of a user finding that and downloading it. To avoid this, you want to do one or more of the following:
    1. Turn off the server's retaining of this .java file (it's basically a debugging tool).
    2. Ensure that the .java files are created in a directory that is not accessible via the browser (i.e. outside of docroot).
    3. Apply file system permissions to the directory the files are created in such that they cannot be accessed from the web.
    #1 and #2 should be pretty easily configurable in your application server's settings. #3 is trickier, as you have to set the permissions such that the server can access them, but a web user can't.

  • JSP source for the Administration tools?

    Hi,
    I would like to know where I can find the JSP source for the Administration tools? I downloaded WLCS 3.1.1 a while ago and I thought that it would come as part of the installation but it didn't. Is there any other place to get the source files?
    Thanks!

    Hello Hugi,
    The WLPS/WLCS admin tools are a webapp called "tools". See your weblogic.properties file:
    # Defines the admin tools Web Application.
    weblogic.httpd.webApp.tools=C:/wlcs/wlcs311/server/webapps/admin/tools.war
    (my installation dir is "C:/wlcs/wlcs311")
    Because you have the Web Application, you have the JSP source code (see http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/classdocs/webappguide.html )

  • Pass ArrayList to jsp and display first index of resultset?

    Is it possible for me to pass an ArrayList to a jsp, and display the each resultset stored in the ArrayList by the ArrayList index?
    The code below gets passed two paramaters. An invorg, and item. It then creates resultset based upon the Object and puts the results into an ArrayList.
    The resultset returned varies, but the largest resultset that I have received back has not been bigger thatn 10 resultset rows, and the largest number of columns has been 27 columns.
    I would then like to pass the whole ArrayList to the jsp and display the contents for each row based on the index it is on.
    Is this possible?

    Your arraylist object should be a list of inventory bean objects and then, If you are using struts, you could use logic:iterate tags.. or something equivalent.. you could use forEach in jstl..

  • Upon refreshing the page, why always first.jsp  is displayed ?

    Hi all,
    In case of multipage portlet (jpdk example), why always the first.jsp is displayed upon clicking the refresh button of the page containing the multipage portlet even when we are viewing the second.jsp. Can we avoid this?
    Best regards,
    Omer

    Hi,
    As it's visible here Struts 1 doesn't have this component. Although this is 1.3.8 struts version but I doubt if in 1.3.10 TabbedPanel is already implemented. So nothing unusual that it's not working.
    To use this component (class) You've to download the latest Struts version (it would be Struts 2 of course) and migrate Your project from Struts 1 to Struts 2. I don't know Struts 1 very well but I read several articles about migration to the latest version and this migration was worth it. Is see this article as very helpful in this case.
    And 'struts-tags' is not a class. This a tag library directive that names the library which contains the tags. This uri is declared in a tld file (tag library descriptor) which is special descriptor for the whole library.

  • JSP wont display Graph

    I am following the tutorial for creating a BI JSP Application, and I have run into a problem. I have created a simple JSP to display my Crosstab, but when I try to display the Graph, I get that red 'X' which denotes file not found. I have copied the object to the BI Catalog and when I browse the catalog I see both the crosstab AND the graph. So I'm kind of confused. Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks!!

    What version of JDeveloper/BI Beans are you using?
    Does the error occur running the JSP from JDeveloper or when you have deployed the JSP to a middle-tier server? Did you change the BI Designer settings to force the run-time environment to use the remote BI Catalog.
    Can you open a crosstab from the catalog?

  • How to get Workshop to ?keepgenerated? JSP source?

    Hi,
    Has anyone figured out how to get Workshop to “keepgenerated” JSP source? In WEB-INF,
    the file wldynamic_change_list.properties, has a jspKeepGenerated=true setting,
    but I can’t find where it’s putting the JSP classes or java files.
    Also, I've verified this is in my weblogic.xml..
    <jsp-param>
    <param-name>keepgenerated</param-name>
    <param-value>true</param-value>
    </jsp-param>

    Phil,
    One of the main disadvantages of not using the built in JSP compiler is that
    you will not be able to debug the JSP. If you need to debug your JSP, please
    use the IDE to build the project, or right click the JSP and choose 'run
    JSP'.

    Anurag,
    Thanks for the quick reply. I did as you instructed and found that itprovides
    a workaround, but the solution is not optimal. It does not change the JSPcompiler
    used by Workshop during a "build". It only changes the JSP compiler usedby the
    server to compile a JSP that has changed. So, you must "touch" the JSPfile (but
    not do a WLW build) then "hit" the JSP with the browser to cause theserver to
    recompile the JSP. Only then will there be a ".java" file saved.
    This will have to do, but it would sure be nice if WLW could provide thissimple
    capability.

    Phil,
    A webservices or web project developed in Workshop by default uses a
    Workshop specific JSP compiler as can be seen in the default weblogic.xml
    file:
    <jsp-descriptor>
    Comment the jspServlet param out to go back to weblogic's jspc
    <jsp-param>
    <param-name>jspServlet</param-name>
    <param-value>weblogic.servlet.WlwJSPServlet</param-value>
    </jsp-param>
    The "keepgenerated" option is not supported by the Workshop JSP compiler.
    You need to use the default WebLogic JSP compiler to do that.
    As the comment above states, you can do that by commenting out the
    <jspServlet> parameter. The java file is by default generated in the
    <server-domain-dir>/<server-name>/.wlnotdelete/extract/<serer-name>_<webappn
    ame>/jsp_servlet/
    directory. This can be changed by specifying the desired location in
    the
    <workingDir> parameter.

    Phil,
    Workshop has its own JSP compiler.
    I will check on the keepgenerated option and get back to you.

  • JSP : Dynamic display

    Hi,
    I need to display 4 html tables which are constructed and populated with data from java. So i make 4 method calls and pass the out object to the methods, These methods populate the table with data and then display them using the out parameter. But even am makin the method calls sequentially all the tables are displayed on the screen only once the last method gets and displays its data. Is it possible to somehow tell the JSP to display my first table once it has the data, and then the next and so on.
    Some sort of dynamic display {Once u r ready display it rather than wait for all the data to come up}
    Thanks
    deepak

    Will any of these methods help setContentLength(int len)
    setBufferSize(int size) ,flushBuffer()
    Also watz the type argument in setContentLength - Is it here length of the string
    and setBufferSize - and here the number of bytes.
    Thanks

  • Getting the JSP source...

    Hello
    In the navigator of portal, there is a possibility to copy a page as JSP. That works fine. But how can I get the JSP source to modify it?
    Thanks
    Chrigel

    Hi,
    Edit your contexts.properties file(which will be under /server-root/https-hostname/config/contexts.properties). And do following changes in that. Restart the server to new changes take effect.
    <b>Before change </b>
    # context.global.isModifiedCheckAggressive=false
    <b>After change</b>
    context.global.isModifiedCheckAggressive=true
