JSTL-IF with more variables

Sorry for my noob-question and my bad english, but anyways here is my question:
First of all: My JSP-Site gets a lot of params which have equal suffixes but are different in the last letter, e.g. param_1 , param_2 , param_3
Then let's have a look on this statement:
<option value="Godlike" <c:if test='${*param.param_1* eq "Godlike"}'>selected="selected"</c:if> >You're java-god</option>It's kind of static and i would love to make this more dynamic, because there is a variable amount of selects in my programm. Well i don't know the JSTL-Thing very well, and i know i can code this in normal-java, but i wanna do this in jstl.
<% int count = 1 %>
<option value="Godlike" <c:if test='${*param.param_+count* eq "Godlike"}'>selected="selected"</c:if> >You're java-god</option>Anyone got an idea?
tia && regards
noirc

Solution is found using squarebrackets notation:
<c:set var="index" value="1"/>  // or wherever the value comes from
<c:set var="paramName" value="param_${index}"/>
<c:out value = "param[paramName]"/>

  • Broadcasting fails with more than X variables in variable screen

    Hi all,
    We have a few reports which have a variable screen with 10+ variables, mostly 3 mandatory and the rest is optional.
    Normally a pop-up appears in which you can select which type (HTML, PDF, Portal etc.) and fill in the recipients. But for the reports I'm talking about, the pop-up stays blank or give an error "page not found"
    First I thought it was an iView setting but I've compared all iviews and the settings are all the same.
    Then I thought the webtemplates could have wrong parameters, but the LAUNCH_BROADCASTER settings are the same for 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and custom templates.
    Now I'm testing at query level and I found out that when I cut some optional variables, at some point it works and I'll get the pop-up I want.
    So I wonder if there's a restriction in the maximum number of variables in the variable screen, which has impact on broadcasting? In one query it fails with 11 or more variables, but in another query it fails with 13 variables. It doesn't matter which variable I erase, as long as I stay under the mentioned number of variables, the broadcaster works for that query.
    Is there a parameter or something which can be set?
    We are on:
    BW 7.31 SP9.30
    Thanks for your help!
    Regards,
    Daan Boon

    There is nothing restriction on no. of Query Variables while broadcasting. There is something else which causes this strange behavior. Can you update your BEx GUI to latest Patches?

  • Essbase Variable with more than a value for use after in Planning forms.

    I want to now if it would be possible to create a variable with more than a value for use after in Planning forms.
    The variable that I want to use is created in Essbase.
    Example:
    &Years = FY08,FY09,FY10

    Hi.
    The only workaround I know for the problem is to create parent in the dimension.
    In your case, create member “planyears”.
    Then you define children that are shard (this are the multiple member for the variables FY08, FY09 etc..)
    Create Essbase sub variable that will have 1 member value “planyears”
    When you use the Sub Variable in form select function “Children” and in that case it will use the member FY08,FY09 etc on the form.
    Limitation: I’m working on version 9.2.0.3 so you can’t create hierarchy in the year dimension, but you can use it in other dimension.

  • WCF-WebHttp Variable mapping with more than 255 Characters

    Hi all,
    I am using WCF-WebHttp send-receive port to query data from SalesForce. I have query as promoted property and it is mapped with {query} variable in Http Method and URL mapping. It works perfectly when my query has less than 256 characters (promoted property
    character limit), but I have to use longer queries. URL does not allow variable concatination which means I can't use multiple promoted properties. Please suggest a solution.

  • Report Performance with Bind Variable

    Getting some very odd behaviour with a report in APEX v 3.2.1.00.10
    I have a complex query that takes 5 seconds to return via TOAD, but takes from 5 to 10 minutes in an APEX report.
    I've narrowed it down to one particular bind. If I hard code the date in it returns in 6 seconds, but if I let the date be passed in from a parameter it takes 5+ minutes again.
    Relevant part of the query (an inline view) is:
    ,(select rglr_lect lect
    ,sum(tpm) mtr_tpm
    ,sum(enrols) mtr_enrols
    from ops_dash_meetings_report
    where meet_ev_date between to_date(:P35_END_DATE,'DD/MM/YYYY') - 363 and to_date(:P35_END_DATE,'DD/MM/YYYY')
    group by rglr_lect) RPV
    I've tried replacing the "to_date(:P35_END_DATE,'DD/MM/YYYY') - 363" with another item which is populated with the date required (and verified by checking session state). If I replace the :P35_END_DATE with an actual date the performance is fine again.
    The weird thing is that a trace file shows me exactly the same Explain Plan as the TOAD Explain where it runs in 5 seconds.
    Another odd thing is that another page in my application has the same inline view and doesn't hit the performance problem.
    The trace file did show some control characters (circumflex M) after each line of this report's query where these weren't anywhere else on the trace queries. I wondered if there was some sort of corruption in the source?
    No problems due to pagination as the result set is only 31 records and all being displayed.
    Really stumped here. Any advice or pointers would be most welcome.
    Jon.

    Don't worry about the Time column, the cost and cardinality are more important to see whther the CBO is making different decisions for whatever reason.
    Remember that the explain plan shows the expected execution plan and a trace shows the actual execution plan. So what you want to do is compare the query with bind variables from an APEX page trace to a trace from TOAD (or sqlplus or whatever). You can do this outside APEX like this...
    ALTER SESSION SET EVENTS '10046 trace name context forever, level 1';Enter and run your SQL statement...;
    ALTER SESSION SET sql_trace=FALSE;This will create a a trace file in the directory returned by...
    SELECT value FROM v$parameter WHERE name = 'user_dump_dest' Which you can use tkprof to format.
    I am assuming that your not going over DB links or anything else slightly unusual?
    Cheers
    Ben

  • SLOW report performance with bind variable

    Environment: 11.1.0.7.2, Apex 4.01.
    I've got a simplified report page where the report runs slowly compared to running the same query in sqldeveloper. The report region is based on a pl/sql function returning a query. If I use a bind variable in the query inside apex it takes 13 seconds to run, and if I hard code a string it takes only a few hundredths of a second. The query returns one row from a table which has 1.6 million rows. Statistics are up-to-date and the columns in the joins and where clause are indexed.
    I've run traces using p_trace=YES from Apex for both the bind variable and hard coded strings. They are below.
    The sqldeveloper explain plan is identical to the bind variable plan from the trace, yet the query runs in 0.0x seconds in sqldeveloper.
    What is it about bind variable syntax in Apex that is causing the bad execution plan? Apex Bug? 11g bug? Ideas?
    tkprof output from Apex trace with bind variable is below...

    Patrick, interesting insight. Thank you.
    The optimizer must be peeking at my bind variables with it's eyes closed. I'm the only one testing and I've never passed %anything as a bind value. :)
    Here's what I've learned since my last post:
    I don't think that sqldeveloper is actually using the explain plan it says it is. When I run explain plan in sqldeveloper (with a bind variable) it shows me the exact same plan as Apex with a bind variable. However, when I run autotrace in sqldeveloper, it takes a path that matches the hard coded values, and returns results in half a second. That autotrace run is consistent with actually running the query outside of autotrace. So, I think either sqldeveloper isn't really using bind variables, OR it is using them in some other way that Apex does not, or maybe optimizer peeking works in sqldeveloper?
    Using optimizer hints to tweak the plan helps. I've tried both /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ and /*+ index(ps pk_persons) */ and both drop the query to about a second. However, I'm loath to use hints because of the very dynamic nature of the query (and Tom Kyte doesn't like them either). The hints may end up hurting other variations on the query.
    I also tested the query by wrapping it in a select count(1) from ([long query]) and testing the performance in sqldeveloper and in Apex. The performance in that case is identical with both bind variables and hard coded variables for both Apex and SqlDeveloper. That to me was very interesting and I went so far as to set up two bind variable report regions on the same page. One region wrapped the long query with select count(1) from (...) and the other didn't. The wrapped query ran in 0.01 seconds, the unwrapped took 15ish seconds with no other optimizations. Very strange.
    To get performance up to acceptable levels I have changed my function returning query to:
    1) Set the equality operator to "=" for values without wildcards and "like" for user input with wildcards. This makes a HUGE difference IF no wildcard is used.
    2) Insert a /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ hint when users chose the column that requires the sub-query. This obviously changes the optimizer's plan and improves query speed from 15 seconds to 1.5 seconds even with wildcards.
    I will NOT be hard coding any user supplied values in the query string. As you can probably tell by the query, this is an application where sql injection would be very bad.
    Jeff, regarding your question about "like '%' || :P71_SEARCH_SOURCE1 || '%'". I've found that putting wildcards around values, particularly at the beginning will negate any indexing on the column in question and slows performance even more.
    I'm still left wondering if there isn't something in Apex that is breaking the optimizer "peeking" that Patrick describes. Perhaps something in the way it switches contexts from apex_public_user to the workspace schema?

  • ADF Groovy Expression with bind variable and ResourceBundle

    Now I have ViewObject which have WHERE clause with bind variable.
    This bind variable is for language. Within bind variable I can change Value Type to Expression and into Value: I put +(ResourceBundle.getBundle("model.ModelBundle")).getString("language")+.
    Now if I run Oracle Business Component Browser (on AppModule) this works. In my ModelBundle.properties there is language=1 name-value pair. And with different locale I have different language number.
    Now if I put that ViewObject on one JSF, this bind variable expression does not work any more. Error:
    *oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.util.MissingResourceException, msg=Can't find bundle for base name model.ModelBundle, locale my_locale*
    Any ideas?

    Zmeda

    The most wierd thing is that, if I make ViewObjectImpl and insert this method
    public String getLanguage() {
    return (ResourceBundle.getBundle("model.ModelBundle")).getString("language");
    and call it in Bind Variable Expression Value: viewObject.getLanguage()
    IT WORKS!
    But why with groovy expression it does not work?

  • Problems deploying Windows 7 x64 computers with more than 8GB RAM

    SCCM 2012 R2 CU1
    Windows 7 x64
    We have a weird problem after upgrading from SP1 to R2 CU1. We have built a Windows 7 64 bit image with the latest updates (currently September 2014 updates). It deploys fine to all computers. But after some days – don’t know exactly – guess after 4-7 days
    - we start getting errors on computers with more than 8 GB of RAM. The errors just start out of the blue. We didn't change TS, image or driver package.
    The error shows in 3 different ways – depending of the computer model.
    1) BSOD – STOP 0x000000F4. Disk error.
    2) Task Sequence error 0x87D00269 when installing the first Application in TS. The error seems to have something to do with Management Point not found.
    3) Task Sequence simply stops after installing CMclient. No errors - it simply stops.
    For instance we get the BSOD on the Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p. But on the ThinkCentre M83 we get the TS error 0x87D00269. M93p and M83 uses the same driver package. They consequently  fail every time after the error has begun. If we reduce (remove physically)
    the memory to max. 8GB of RAM, they successfully run the Task Sequence.  We get the above errors on both Lenovo and HP machines with more than 8GB.
    I made a copy of the production TS and started testing. I created a new driver package for M93p/M83. It contains only the NIC drivers. Now M93p an M83 successfully finishes the TS. Adding sata or chipset or MEI/SOL drivers to the package I get the 0x87D00269
    error on both m93p and M83. At least not the BSOD on the M93p ;-)
    Tried setting  SMSTSMPListRequestTimeout to 180 in the TS. Also tried putting in a 5 minute break before installing the first Application in the TS. Also tried putting in SMSMP=mp1.mydomain in the installation properties for the CMclient. It is still
    the same problem.

    Hopefully this is a bug in translating the errorcodes? Just to be sure I checked all the SCCM serviceaccounts and none of them have expired passwords.  And again why only on computers with more than 8GB RAM.
    Anyone else had problems rolling computers with more than 8GB og RAM?
    Why does this happens after a few days? To begin with, it runs just perfect and then starts failing on all machines with more than 8GB. Without a change in TS, image and driverpackage. We have seen this pattern for the last 3 month after
    updating our image with the latest Windows Updates. It all started after updating from SP1 to R2 CU1.
    Why does it only affect machines with more than 8GB RAM?
    How to get rid of the 0x87D00269 error?
    Seems to be somehow related to driver installation mechanism in SCCM in combination with Windows 7 64 bit, +8GB RAM and SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 or perhaps just R2.
    Any help or hints would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Anders

    We have the same workaround, using a x64 boot image resolved all our issues with WinPE 5.0.
    Machines with >4GB of RAM
    Lenovo ThinkPad T540p failed applying drivers with 80040005
    Black screen/white cursor issues intermittently
    No updates from Microsoft, they are still looking through the logs, but we have updated our boot images and all is well now. Our case it still open with Microsoft, they are researching the logs.

  • How to display error message with some variable

    Hi
    I want to display errror message along with material number which is thr in d LOOP .
    Basically i want some variable to display along with error message .
    Can anybody suggest me how can i go about it?
    Edited by: sonal musale on Apr 14, 2009 12:06 PM

    Hi,
    In the message class, suppose  you use 001 for invalid material message.
    So keep it like:-
    Invalid Material : &1
    in the message class for 001.
    Now in loop use as:-
    loop at itab into wa.
      "perform validations
      "if validation fails for current material
      MESSAGE e001 WITH wa-matnr.
    endloop.
    Similary you can use more variables:-
    Invalid Material : &1 &2 &3
      MESSAGE e001 WITH <variable1> <variable2> <variable3>.
    Hope this helps you.

    If the bind variable appear in the WHERE condition two or more times at
    the beginning of the query the above error occur.
    oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement:
    SELECT Emp.EMPNO,Emp.ENAME,Emp.JOB,Emp.MGR,Emp.HIREDATE,Emp.SAL,Emp.COMM, Emp.DEPTNO
    FROM SCOTT.EMP Emp
    WHERE :1 <=10000 and :1 <= sal and :2=20
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01008: not all variables bound
    Otherwise if bind variable apper two or more times, but not together
    like this sample:
    WHERE :1 <=10000 and :2=20 and :1 <= sal
    the error not occur.
    We prove this with:
    JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 (build 1618)Business Components Version 9.0.5.16.0
    JDeveloper 9.0.5.0 (build 1375)Business Components Version 9.0.5.13.52
    I looking for a patch! or acceptable workaround.
    Tx for your help!
    diego.
    /* the cliente app */
    ApplicationModule am = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule("business_tier.AppModule","AppModuleLocal");
    ViewObject vo = am.findViewObject("EmpView");
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(0,"100");
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(1,"20");
    Row emp = vo.first();

    This is a known bug (1326006). The workaround is to use:
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(0,"100");
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(1,"20");
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(2,"20");
    Hope this helps,
    Lynn

  • Error when opening a workbook with mandatory variables

    BEx analyzer displays an error message window in the same time as the variable popup window.
    The worbook is linked to 1 query that uses 2 mandatory variables (month ?, year ?), and was defined in the test system.
    I assume that values are thus saved within the workbbok.
    The developper had 0bi_all autorisation.
    When a reporting user is opening it (also in the test system), the error message is displayed.
    This happens only the 1st time when Analyzer is started, and by clicking on the OK button, we are able to run the query.
    The next workbook refresh runs without the error message display.
    Question =  does anybody know the reason of this, and how to avoid the error message ?
    more infos:
    error message E019(R9E) appears for each variable (thus, 2 time with a query with 2 variables):
    Help type 5 is not valid for the platform NONE
    Exception 5 occured while calling IWB_HTML_HELP_URL_GET
    the details of this error message is:
    Diagnosis

    Diagnosis
       The documentation is not correctly connected to the BI server.
    System Response

    i checked the query and authorisation with RSRV, but this didn't help, furthermore, a lot a functions are not implemented in the system, sorry.
    i also changed the query and workbook, and i think that it depends on the workbook release 3.x or 7.
    imagine following situations: same query 7.0, same workbook 7.0
    with BI7
    1) opening the query with variables doesn't display the error message
    2) refreshing the workbook with the query with variables displays the error message (only for a non mandatory variable - as soon as there is a variable, the error message is displayed)
    3) refreshing the workbook with the query without variables doesn't display the error message
    with BW 3.x
    4) refreshing a new workbook 3.x with the query with variables doesn't display the error message
    i also investigate in the function modules for workbooks (RS...), but nothing helped.
    i still think that it is linked to authorisations, because with sap_all, the message isn't displayed.
    how can i continue ?

  • Case structure with more than 200 cases, slower lab view app

    Problem Description :
    i am currently making a vi which compose of a simple case structures, a case structure with more than 200 cases, what i noticed is that the more i added cases the slower the labview reacts, it takes time for me to route wire on each of the cases.
    i dont know if there are any setting in the labview environment that i can increase the buffer size? i dont know... but its getting slow (only on the
    vi with more cases in a case structure)
    mytestautomation.com
    ...unleashed the power, explore and share ideas on power supply testing
    nissanskyline.org
    ...your alternative nissan skyline information site

    Can you clarify what you mean by "slow". Does it run more slowly or does it feel sluggish during editing?
    Could you attach the actual VI?
     Overall, I agree with the notion of local variable overuse. For example, you read the same local variable twice in the same case. Is there a need for this? Is there a chance that it varies between the two reads? Typically, you would place the terminal in front of the case structure and wire to all the locations where you need the value. This ensures that the data is consistent. Still, this should not cause any slowdown problem.
    (On a sidenote, the code in the upper left corner is inefficient. You convert the same data to lower case with each iteration, so you might want to place this before the loop and do it only once (well, if you are lucky, LabVIEW will fold the operation, but still....). Also your "index array" operation can be replaced by autoidenxing of the 2D array on the outer loop boundary.)
    LabVIEW Champion . Do more with less code and in less time .

  • How to reduce different versions of SQL with bind variables

    There is an application, developed on Java.
    Application executes SQL following types:
    select * from t where id in (:1)
    select * from t where id in (:1, :2)
    select * from t where id in (:1, :2, :3)
    select * from t where id in (:1, :2, :3, :4)
    ...And as a result very many versions (thousands) of similar SQL.
    Do you know a method to reduce number of such SQLs?
    I see one method: use one form of SQL with large number of prepared bid variables.
    Like as
    select * from t where id in (:1, :2, :3, :4, :5, :6, :7, :8, ...);And if query will be executed with one variable, the others will be equal to null.
    Is there another method?

    Cannot you insert those values into a temporary table and work within a subquery against that table ? That will make the code more secure, especially if the number of values is high.
    Nicolas.

  • Function with more than one return value

    Hi
    Please let me know how to write a function with more than one return value and in what scenario should we go for this option.
    Thank you

And the following is the correct approach (using OUT variables is not!) - you deal with the multiple values as a data structure. This example uses an custom (user-defined) SQL data type as the structure.
    SQL> create or replace type TXYcoord is object(
      2          x       number,
      3          y       number
