JTextArea HTML with embedded JTabbedPane

I need a JTextArea to display HTML with an embedded JTabbedPane.
From a high level, it should look as follows:
HTML
JTabbedPane
HTML
I basically want to nest the JTabbedPane into HTML above and below it.
Any ideas?

Hi Grok,
I suggest using a JTextPane. JTextPane can handle HTML and you can also embed components into it.
Good Luck,
Avi.

  • ExecCommand using formatBlock breaks html with embedded divs.

    Using the command:
    return ((IHTMLDocument2)ContributorGlobals.Instance.HtmlDocument).execCommand("formatblock", false, "Normal");
    If we highlight the 'Feature box' in a browser then change the style from 'H2' to 'Normal', so changing back to normal text then the command changes the HTMLDocument (which is a mshtml.IHTMLDocument) activeElement.innerHTML from this:
    "<DIV class=fb01>\r\n<DIV class=fb01_top>\r\n<H2>Feature box</H2>\r\n<P>Test</P></DIV></DIV>"
    To this:
    "<P class=fb01>Feature box</P>\r\n<DIV class=fb01_top>\r\n<P>Test</P></DIV>"
    From our investigation this seems to happen with any blockformat command changes values, so changing to H2 or others with the embedded DIV tags. We have also tried to rewrite to allow this to work, but still find there are cases where this will not work.
    Is this a bug with this or is there any workaround to make this work?

  • Web Intelligence: Save Report as PDF and with embedded HTML code

    Hi all.
    Sorry but I'm not able to find any post about this matter, please feel free to provide links if you know existing topics about this problem.
    We created a beautiful report with HTML5 code embedded into a blank cell and we are now trying to export it in a printable format (e.g.: PDF or HTML).
    As you know (as per manual information) it is not possible to export a report with embedded HTML code and keeping it in the output (cell with embedded HTML code is rendered blank).
    My question is: is there a known workaround or an alternative solution to export the report and keep its content?
    Print screen is not a valid option :-P
    Thanks for the support or any suggestions

  • When I forward an HTML email with embedded graphics to someone, it forwards it as plain text.. this is driving me batty.. how do I forward such mails INTACT??

    I have the latest Thunderbird installed on a new 64-bit Winblows Eight netbook.. fantastic program, but one problem is driving me absolutely batty, and after using the latest Thunderbird for weeks, I simply can't figure out how to fix it..
    I'm on a lot of mfr. and other kinds of mailing lists, like eBay watch list alerts, and so on.. these are not s p a m (although I get plenty of that.. who doesn't).. but lists I WANT to be on..
    Many such emails from those mailing lists are in HTML format with embedded graphics.. I'm not talking about graphic file attachments, but embedded graphics which are coming from the senders' servers, and appear AS a graphic in the email.. sometimes such emails are one huge graphic with hardly any text.. all well and good..
    However, here's the problem.. when I want to forward such an email to a friend, Thunderbird ALWAYS formats it as plain ASCII text.. I know this because I look in the "sent mail" folder, and can see that it has turned an HTML email with embedded graphics into plain ASCII text..
    I absolutely can't figure out how to get it to forward an HTML email with embedded graphics INTACT, so the sender receives it looking the way it looks when I receive it from a mailing list, or an advertiser, or eBay, or whoever..
    Is Thunderbird capable of forwarding an HTML email with embedded graphics INTACT?.. If so, how / where do I turn on that capability?..
    If the capability to do this isn't built into the program, is there an add-on I can install that will give it that ability?..
    I am not new to computers.. but this really has me stumped.. I want to put Thunderbird on my 32-bit Vista laptop and stop using its horrible "Windoze Mail" program, which I've been using for years, and is slower than snot, and has all kinds of other problems..
    So, assuming whoever reads this FULLY understands my question, PLEASE tell me how to get Thunderbird to have the ability to forward an HTML email with embedded graphics AS-IS, so the receiver(s) I forward it to see it exactly the way I see it when I receive it.. if that ability is built in, please tell me how to turn it on.. if that ability is not built-in, please tell me what add-on I need to install to give Thunderbird this capability.. if Thunderbird absolutely can't forward an HTML email with embedded graphics at all, please also tell me that..
    A virtual box of candy and a dozen long-stemmed roses to anyone who can give me a solution that works..
    Thanks..

    Dear Mr. Toad (my all-time favorite ride at Disneyland ;-) ..
    Thanks so much for your detailed reply.. my netbook is in the bedroom, turned off.. I (so far) only use it in the evening, in the bedroom.. I've saved your response, and will try your suggestions, and let you know if they solve the problem I described. I really appreciate you taking the time to post such a detailed reply..
    I can't answer your Thunderbird "configuration" questions, because I'm in the living room, using the crap Vista laptop, on which I plan to install Thunderbird, and then take Windoze Mail out in the street and drive over it a few times.. I'll get back to you one way or the other, and let you know if your instructions solved the problem, or not..
    I don't understand why Thunderbird "out of the box", so to speak, simply doesn't forward HTML emails with embedded graphics, (like Outlook Excess, and Winblows Mail do).. without having to go through those steps. I personally HATE HTML email, but over the years, it's become more and more prevelant.. so it's a problem I must fix..
    Thanks again..

  • Problems embedding html with jquery content

    Hey muse people.
    i'm currently struggling with a very annoying issue:
    I have a piece of html code with jquery bits in it (it's a 360° plugin). For some reason, it doesn't seem to work when i upload to my server and try it.
    I have tried the steps suggested in this thread: HELP! Adding Jquery to Muse! , but whenever i remove parts of the "JS Include" section, i get warnings and errors entering the page. The plugin works, though..
    Does anyone know a workaround on this one?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Abhishek,
    thank you for looking into it:
    Homepage  <-  this is a simple page from muse with the html code embedded - it does not work (the image should switch when you click the "type" buttons)
    http://www.lichtermeile.de/simple/ <- here i just made an index.html and added the same code i used to embed as html in the muse page above
    It works just fine when i remove parts of the JS Include and fully remove the "Other scripts" section that muse added to the end of each html file .. but i don't know if that's a healthy and compatible way.
    This is the code:
    <html>
    <script src='http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.min.js' type='text/javascript'></script>

  • Using onFocus method with embedded html

    Hi,
    I have embedded html in a servlet. I am using a text field to call the onFocus method with the following code:
    out.println("<input type='text' name='name' value='0' onFocus='if(this.value=='0')this.value=';'>");
    If I was using straight html with no servlet this works fine. When the user clicks on the field the default value is automatically erased.
    Why will this not work in a servlet?
    I have also tried calling a javascript function. Please note that I successfully use javascript with input type 'button' to render a pop up window with dimensions. So my javascript inside a servlet works elsewhere.
    Thanks VERY MUCH for your time
    Rick

    I don't think it's the same as I'm doing. Essentially, I have a JEditorPane subclass, which just has a few custom tags in it. I don't need them to be recognized by java, since it will be uneditable, but I just need to know how to convert from the getText() locations to the actual displayed text locations.
    Also, when I set the text as text/html, it creates a bunch of extra HTML tags, so it's larger than the original String used to create it.

  • CR report with embedded SWF: Export to PDF displays nothing

    I'm creating CR 2008 reports with embedded SWFs as described in the whitepaper [EMBEDDING XCELSIUS 2008 VISUALIZATIONS IN CRYSTAL REPORTS 2008|http://www.businessobjects.com/pdf/product/catalog/crystalreports/cr_xc_integration.pdf].
    From CR, I can export the report to html and view the report fine. But when I export to pdf, ppt, etc. The SWFs are not viewable. Is this a bug or by design?
    This section of the white paper seems to imply that maybe you cannot export to pdf:

    I'm using the latest version of Adobe products:
    - Adobe Flash Player ActiveX, Version 9.0.124.0
    - Adobe Flash Player Plugin, Version 9.0.115.0
    - Adobe Reader 9, Version 9.0.0
    Also, I downloaded [CR Viewer 2008|http://www.businessobjects.com/product/catalog/crystalreports_viewer/] and can see the CR reports I've created with embedded Xcelsius swfs.
    Any information is appreciated. Thanks.
    Tim

    > ... it states in your first post, the export is not supported,
    True. It says:
    > Exporting and printing of Flash objects with connections to Crystal Reports data is not supported.
    But I can export such reports to html and view and print the flash objects.
    It seems inconsistent to me. I can export static flash charts to pdf, yet I cannot export dynamic flash charts to pdf, which is from Adobe, as is Flash?
    I'm hoping this is a temporary bug either in Crystal or pdf reader and is to be fixed in a patch release. Or an explanation of why the limitations exist.
    Thanks for the response.

  • HTML help - embedding in iweb06 from vimeo

    Hi. I'm embedding video onto my iweb06 pages, but I can't get the video to show up in the right location - no matter what I do, it ends up either top right of the page, or top left, but never in the odd location (just off center) where I want it.
    WHAT I'M DOING:
    I'm using text edit to locate the text boxes on various pages, and I'm replacing random letters in the textbox with my embed code, but I cannot get my videos to locate correctly on the page - I can get them embedded, but I cannot get them to show up at the location of the text boxes.
    I'VE TRIED:
    1. Just replacing the text ("zzzzzz") with the embed code (b/n ""), but that left the text (even though I erased it) on the page and the video in the wrong spot.
    NEXT, I TRIED:
    2. Making my best guess at where cut then paste my embed code based on what looks like the most likely break in html. Basically, I replace everything b/n the bold html below:
    *...1; "/>*
    <img src= "THEATREfiles/shapeimage3.png"
    alt="+zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz(this is my text in the textbox)zzzzzzzzz+"title""id="id10" style=height:215px; left: 186px;position: absolute; top: 100px; width: 307px; z-index: 1; " />
    *<div style=.....*
    When I replace the above html with my embed code, it looks great except it's always in the upper right corner of the page. After getting this close, I just started (somewhat scientifically) keeping code before and after my written text in the box, to try to figure out how to get it located on the page, and nothing works.
    Can you help me figure out where exactly to cut and paste embed code from my video site?
    I'm obviously in over my head - but I'm hoping I can still develop my own page (it's just a personal page of mine, at www.johnchristophercole.com)
    Thanks!

    I was thinking that the source you have could create a CHM using the Microsoft compiler that would have a TOC. Reverse engineering that should get you the files you need including the TOC and an HHP that does know about it. Of course if the Microsoft compiler will not produce a CHM with a TOC, then the solution will not work.
    It was just another solution as an alternative to the one you have used.

  • Help with embedding videos

    Hello,
    I please need help with embedding videos from youtube. I do this via the Web panel (not the video panel) and copied the embed code on Youtube and pasted it into my Indesign CS6 (autoplay activated). I did it according to that helpful video: http://blogs.adobe.com/jlockman/2013/06/04/embedding-youtube-videos-into-your-dps-project/
    However, when testing this on my iPad, only a white box appears and I cannot press a play button.

    Are you sure, that you changed code from youtube?
    Code from youtube is:
    src="//www.youtube.com/embed/KulFWmvbEu4
    but you need to change it to
    src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KulFWmvbEu4
    For us, best result is to embed video via:
    menu Object > Include HTML (don't know exact english name of menu), paste iframe code with correct http link and then it works.

  • Ctxhx will not convert Word97 docs with embedded autotext

    Manual execution of ctxhx.exe on Sun w/8.1.6.2 and NT 8.1.6 fails to convert Word97 documents with embedded autotext (autotext that contains autotext). It will start to create the html file but terminates and deletes the html file when it hits the footer section that contains the autotext. Remove the offending autotext from the document (not an option of course) and it runs like a champ. Inso's web site has a sample utility to convert and display docs. It successfully converts, but I assume it is much newer than what Oracle has integrated. I have added a clob,converted and loaded the docs as text as a bandaid...not an option for much longer. Any insight?

    I suspect you need Word, not Word Starter. Never seen it mentioned before. But you can print to Adobe PDF from Word Starter to convert each file.

  • Importing HTML with Javascript

    Hi folks,
    I have multiple (but simple) HTML forms that need to be imported as they are. Basically, I want to avoid the work of editing each button's Javascript manually in Acrobat, so I have the form ready in HTML with some JavaScript. Each form button has an onClick event calling the function below. The form works well in a browser, but, unfortunately, when I try to import it, the Javascript embedded in the page header disappears and the buttons do not work as programmed.
    Is there anyway to import the HTML *WITH* the Javascript?
    Here is the embedded Javascript code (pretty simple):
    <head>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function DisplayCost(){
    var numPass = 0;
    var numTIDS = 0;
    var numExp = 0;
    var amtPass = 0;
    var amtTIDS = 0;
    var amtExp = 0;
    var amtTotal = 0;
    for(j=1; j <= 4; j++)
    tester = document.batch.elements["a" + j];
    exp_tester = document.batch.elements["b" + j];
    for( i = 0; i < tester.length; i++ ){
      if( tester[i].checked == true ){
    //   alert(tester[i].value)
       if(tester[i].value == "35") { numPass += 1; amtPass += parseInt(tester[i].value);
                if (exp_tester.checked == true) { numExp += 1; amtExp += parseInt(exp_tester.value);}}
       if(tester[i].value == "55") { numTIDS += 1; amtTIDS += parseInt(tester[i].value);
    if (exp_tester.checked == true) { numExp += 1; amtExp += parseInt(exp_tester.value);}}
       if(tester[i].value == "0") {exp_tester.checked=false}
    if(document.getElementByName('numPass') != null) { document.getElementByName('numPass').value = numPass;
           document.getElementByName('amtPass').value = amtPass; }
    if(document.getElementByName('numTIDS') != null) { document.getElementByName('numTIDS').value = numTIDS;
           document.getElementByName('amtTIDS').value = amtTIDS;}
    document.getElementByName('numExp').value = numExp;
    document.getElementByName('amtExp').value = amtExp;
    document.getElementByName('amtTotal').value = amtPass + amtTIDS + amtExp;
    </script>
    </head>
    Any help wuld be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    CodeChaser

    As it has already been said, there are fundamental differences between HTML "documents" and PDF documents. This also applies to JavaScript. Acrobat JavaScript and web browser JavaScript have things in common, and that is called the "Core" (get Flanagan's JavaScript, the Definitve Guide, published by O'Reilly, and you will see very clearly what objects etc. are relevant, and what not. Also, the document object model in PDF and in HTML are fundamentally different. And the field events are fundamentally different as well (as there is no onClick event in PDF, but mouseUp is used for clicking.
    What you can do, if you develop both, HTML forms and PDF forms, is to separate everything user interface-related from the raw (core) functions. The core functions can be used in either place, if their arguments are neutral, and you define them accordingly in your respective documents.
    You also can create your HTML form, and then get it into Acrobat, using WebCapture. The fields will be created, as well as labels etc. You will nevertheless rename your fields, in order to make them usable. Adding JavaScript to the appropriate events will be rather simple and straightforward.
    It would really be worthwile to have a closer look at the Acrobat JavaScript documentation (which is part of the Acrobat (X) SDK, downloadable from the Adobe website.
    For heavy duty application, you might look at a rather high-end forms design tool, OneForm Plus by Amgraf, which does create PDF forms and HTML forms from the same document, and is pretty good when it comes to the look of the forms. It also creates back-end code which is used to process submitted data. It is then also possible to have hybrid workflows when data gets displayed in PDF, and in HTML in the subsequent step and vice versa.
    Hope this can help.
    Max Wyss.

  • [Oracle JDBC Driver]This driver is locked for use with embedded application

    Hi
    I installed Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8, and am trying to connect to my Oracle database using the attached tutorial code.
    The code compiles fine, but I get the following error whenever I run the file: [Oracle JDBC Driver]This driver is locked for use with embedded application
    I don't understand what is happening.
    Using the Runtime navigation panel on the upper left of the IDE screen, I can right-click and connect to the database, and navigate database files, using the Oracle JDBC Driver that came with JSE8.
    Name: Oracle Driver
    Driver: com.sun.sql.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver
    Database URL: jdbc:sun:oracle://JAZZPUP:1521;SID=REPO
    If the driver is installed, and can be used to connect to a database by right-clicking on the database definition in the Runtime panel, why can't I connect to it just using java code in the IDE. I would expect both methods to work or to fail, not one of each using the same IDE.
    Many thanks and take care,

  • Problem with embedded captions in quicktime export

    Hi,
    I'm trying to add embedded closed captions to a video. I just installed the latest version of Premiere Pro yesterday on my Mac. Should be simple, but alas!
    I have this 3 minute video file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5t9s1kgpa8s3f76/Revver%20Introduction-1080p.mp4
    To which I added this .scc caption file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ickt0al7v6ggb2/rev3.scc
    Things look great in the Premiere preview pane: http://screencast.com/t/HFZLVj6OX
    But when I export as a quicktime video with embedded captions, I get a garbage output: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j3bmcx9yk5uuhy0/Revver%20Introduction-1080p-CC.mov
    The closed captions display way more rapidly than they do in the Premiere preview pane. I didn't mess with any of the export settings - here's what I selected to get the export: http://screencast.com/t/dgx8a4v5sl7
    What's going on? Why is this not working?
    Rory

    Wow that's awesome. Thanks Kevin.
    I downloaded your project, located the source files as being on my machine instead of yours, and tried it out. Unfortunately the export still had some issues, but looking at what you did helped me figure out how to start again from scratch and do it correctly.
    I think I understand now - I had been creating a sequence by dragging the video onto the new item. So the sequence used the attributes of the video clip. I hadn't realized I could create a new sequence with different attributes, as described in this article http://helpx.adobe.com/en/premiere-pro/using/creating-changing-sequences.html
    So I created a new sequence, made sure it had 29.97 fps and correct dimensions (1440 x 1080), dragged in the video and scc, and exported.
    Seems like it worked!
    Here's the final verions, with captions embedded. You'll need to download it to see the captions, since dropbox's player doesn't support caption playback:
