JTree collaps after reload

Hi
I am using a dynamic tree - when i update a node i use:
in the model:
fireTreeNodesChanged(node,node.getPath(),null,null);
//and then i revalidate and repaint the tree panel so it will be refreshed.
//(I used to use reload(node) but this caused my tree to collaps after the reload)The update works fine but when i want to remove a node:
parentnode=node.getParent()
node.removeFromParent()
fireTreeStructureChanged(parentnode,parentnode.getPath(),null,null); //instead of reload
//and then i revalidate and repaint the tree panel so it will be refreshed.But still the tree collapse!!!!
Is there any way to prvant the tree fom collapsing?

Instead of using fireTreeStructureChanged, use fireTreeNodesRemoved - and in the last two arguments pass ann array with the index of the removed child, and an array with a reference to the removed child: eg
parent=node.getParent();
int[] indices = new int[] { parent.getIndex(child) };
Object[]  nodes = new Object[] { child };
node.removeFromParent();
fireTreeNodesRemoved(parent, parent.getPath(), indices, nodes);
