July release - New admin user interface updates, additional customer reports and bug fixes
We are announcing a new Business Catalyst release, scheduled to go live on Monday, July 2nd.
With this release, we have focused on improving the new user interface and make it ready for prime time, added additional reports and continued updating the new file manager. Additionally, we  started to deliver on a series of fixes and product improvements that have been requested by our partners during the last few months.
Infrastructure updates
To ensure the highest security and performance levels for our services, we're applying a software update on all our database servers. For more details about the update, read our Business Catalyst Service Maintenance, June 2012 - Updated blog post.
Features and enhancements
New admin interface is now the default interface for new users
With this release, the new admin user interface will become the default interface for new users and customers, regardless of when the website has been created. To ensure a smooth transition to the new interface, we will continue to allow  customers use the interface of their choice and the system will remember their selection the next time they login to admin.
Customers and secure zones report
Secure zones are a great way of creating membership websites which were lacking some basic reporting features that would have enabled customers to view detailed information about their subscribers or send them email campaigns related to their subscription.
With this release, we are enhancing our reporting system by allowing customers to create and save reports of customers and secure zone subscriptions. This report will automate many of the manual tasks a site owner has to do today to extract actionable reports for customers subscribed to secure zones. Additionally, once such a report is created it can be used in the email marketing system to send email campaigns to these customers.
For the next release we are looking into exposing the opt-in status so that customers can view their subscribers communication preferences and act based on this information.
Redirect system domain and URLs to default domain for better SEO performance
Starting with this release, we are allowing users to redirect system domains and URLs to the default site domain or corresponding URL using 301 redirects. This will help customers achieve better SEO performance and avoid duplicate content penalties from search engines. To enable this redirect, users will have to edit the system domain and check the Redirect to default domain check box.
With the July release, we are going to enable the same functionality for secure URL as well, with the exception of payment pages and POST requests, which will remain on the secure domain.
Note: when admin user is logged in admin using the system domain, the system will not redirect front-end pages while session is still active; user must log out of admin for the redirect to work.
User interface consistency for renamed modules
The new admin user interface  has been updated to consistently use  new names for these modules:
Media downloads (former Literature)
News (former Announcements)
Events (former Bookings)
There are still two  areas where the old naming is being used:
Module & tag names (e.g. { module_announcement }, { tag_announcementurl_value })
FTP folder names (e.g. /Layouts/Announcement)
These will take a significant engineering effort to update, as we need to support  existing sites that could be already checked out to local file systems, or replicating existing sites. Together with some of the partners that are using this features intensively, we decided to leave these areas with the old naming for now, and redirect the engineering effort in two larger projects currently under way: handling partner enhancement requests and a better web apps engine.
Offline payment security improvements
The security of the current offline payment workflow has been improved in order to meet international security standards for offline payments:
A new, additional “Offline payment password” must be set, and updated every 90 days
Pass phrases are now unique to each order. You can no longer use the one pass phrase to access every secure PDF 
This will help transactions be more secure and protect business owners from potential attacks. Here's a more detailed view of this feature.
Delete paid and Creative Cloud sites from the Admin Console
We moved the "Delete Site" functionality to the Admin Console of the website in order to help Creative Cloud users and beginners cancel an existing paid website that they don't need anymore. Here's a snapshot of this new feature.
Other changes
Invite Partner user: starting with the release, partners can add other partners as site admins through the Site Details screen in the Partner Portal. This functionality has been moved from the User Management interface and it is enabling partners to collaborate on developing a site without impacting the site admin limit
File Manager alpha: drag'n'drop can be used to move one file at a time between different folders
File Manager alpha:  expired sessions will prompt you to re-enter your password and resume your work on already opened files
Billing Settings admin menu is hidden for all users of trial or Creative Cloud redeemed  sites
MetaWeblogAPI switch to https - Starting with this release, we will push a security update for the MetaWeblogAPI of Business Catalyst to disallow use of an unsecured connection (http) as that sends login credentials in plain text.
Updated time zone for CRM entities: we have updated several CRM screens so that they display entities based on site's time zone instead of the Asia Pacific datacenter time. The following lists have been updated: Customers, Orders, Cases, Event Bookings, Opportunities and Modules>Comments
Updated free trial sign-up: Free trial sign up with an existing Business Catalyst or Adobe ID user now creates an additional trial site and places it under the user's partner portal
Deprecated functionality
CRM User Passwords will no longer be exposed through API and custom reports - with this release we are completing our security policy update for CRM passwords and will stop delivering CRM user passwords through API and Custom Reports. For more details about the security update, read our Important Security Policy Updates for CRM Users - Effective February 8th announcement
Blog trackbacks, not present in new user interface, have been removed from the new sites templates as well. While existing trackbacks will continue to work, we recommend to remove them from your sites due to spam issues, and use instead social modules for significantly more effective content sharing
Triangle Dreamweaver extension for versions CS3 and CS4 will stop functioning after July 30th. Please use these newer alternatives.
Separate menu visibility setting has been dropped from the new admin user interface and replaced with a more granular permission system that also control the menu visibility. More details about the new permissions system on our February release notes blog post

second, the flexijack only supports line in, microphone in and optical out on this card thats why the option was greyed out/ removed
its not needed with this card.
and, just to make sure, you are pluging your mic into the white jack with red light coming out right?
after that, you are selecting microphone as your audio input on the recording settings of windows volume control right?

    I just went down with my brother today to purchase an iPod touch. We brought it home, expecting that either version 2.0 of the software would be on it or it would be a free download since it has been 3 weeks since the software was released, but no dice. They want him to fork over 10 bucks for the upgrade even though all new iPod touches should be shipping with the updated software. In my opinion Apple is really doing themselves a disservice by doing this. With every other apple device I have ever purchased the latest software has been included with the hardware. I guess they really must want that ten bucks.

  • Matt's Picks: April 2nd Releases

    There are some great music releases this week that I've been looking forward to for a while and I hope everyone will give them a bit of a listen. Rilo Kiley and Telekinesis are bands that I've had quite a bit of exposure to over the years, while The Besnard Lakes are a band that I've heard before, but haven't really given them the attention they deserve. I think I'll have to change that with their new album.
    Rilo Kiley will be releasing a compilation of rarities and previously unreleased recordings on an album called, Rkives. This will be the first we’ve heard from them since 2007’s, Under the Blacklight, and as a fan of pretty much anything Jenny Lewis touches I have to say that I’m looking forward to hearing these songs. If you haven’t heard any of their past releases, I’d highly recommend checking out the samples we have up on BestBuy.com from their previous albums. Rkives will also be releasing on vinyl later this month.
    Telekinesis will be releasing their third album, Dormarion. I first heard this one-man-band with the 2011 release, 12 Desperate Straight Lines, and just couldn’t get enough of songs like “Car Crash” and “Gotta Get It Right Now.” From what I’ve heard with the new song, “Ghosts and Creatures,” the new album may be a bit different from the short and infectiously upbeat songs from the last album, but I’ll certainly be giving it a listen. Dormarion will also be released on vinyl, and go ahead and check out the samples from some previous albums here.
    The Besnard Lakes will be releasing their fourth album, Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO. This Canadian atmospheric rock band has received a lot of praise from critics in their home country, and even had two of their albums nominated for the Polaris Music Prize. If you’re not familiar with what that award represents or any of the The Besnard Lakes’ music, I highly recommend you check it out and also take a listen to the samples of their second album, The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse.     Movies
    It’s rare when there aren’t any movie releases that I’m really looking forward to, but that’s kind of where I’m at for this week. Instead of looking at 4/2 releases, let’s look ahead to 4/16 when Django Unchained will be released. We’ve still got some great pre-order exclusives available, which include the ability to watch the movie early! You can find additional details about these offers here.

    Both have a good mix of hard rock and alternative.  Definitely recommend the song "Bleed With Me" off of the Resilience album as it's become a personal favorite.  Never really kept up with them after their original album with "Bodies", but I'm going to have to go back and listen to the rest of their music if they've kept up this sound for so many years.
    And yeah...movie releases were really light this week.  Nothing good for me.  "A Certain Scientific Railgun" (anime) releases next Tuesday, though.  Will pick that one up.

  • Release strategy reversal for the purchase requisition.

    Hi all,
    I have a scenario were we have three release levels to release the PR through ME54N tcode.
    After all the levels are released,If at the first level the PR release is cancelled all other levels are automatically cancelled.
    Now my concern is until the 3rd release cancellation is done, 2nd and 1st level should not be allowed to cancel the release of PR. and until 3rd & 2nd release cancelltion is done, 1st level should not be allowed to cancell the release of PR.
    Please Let me know if any BADI or any enhancement is available to acheive this back release strategy for PR.

  • Help with purchasing new Mac Book Pro- 2014 release vs. 2013?

    OK, so my 15" 2008 Mac Book Pro is on its last gasp--didn't help when I dropped it while open (I can now see into its innards though it's still working...sort of).
    I'm not a technophile (mainly use my laptop for writing--my profession--and eBay business) so my sister told me to make sure that I had at least 8 GB and a fast processing speed. Retina display not necessary (her graphic artists friends hate it apparently) so that would lower the price; however it seems that there are two releases: Oct 2013 and July 2014.  Read up on the latest release but not sure how much is necessary for to have...or care about.
    Can you all weigh in and tell me (a) how important it is to have "the latest and greatest" and (b) how necessary is Retina display and (c) which would YOU purchase if you had my budget constraints.  Thanks!
    Anyway, I've narrowed down my choices of MacBook Pro purchases to what was within my budget: $1300 including tax.  I wanted a 15" but it was too much $$$$, plus I can just use an external monitor.
    Both are available at Apple. Both come with 1 year and 3-year extended warranties and both have the standard software installed, including Pages.
    One more thing....Wondering if having Flash Storage is important?  Only refurbished one (see below) has it.

    Hmm... I'm not really sure where you found a July 2014 release without a retina display. I think it might be the old version because that laptop was last updated in 2012 (to my understanding. Also, your sister is kind of wrong, if you want a computer that will work well for everyday things, 4gb of ram is just fine. I have a three year old MacBook Air with 4gb of ram and do things in Photoshop, Illustrator, Pixelmator, FCP, etc. all the time running OS X Yosemite and it runs like brand new. However, if you want to future proof it, you might want 8gb so it can always run the latest OSes.
    Flash Storage is amazingly fast compared to a Hard Drive. It also has no moving parts, therefore is much more durable, and much more likely to survive a drop than a Hard Drive (which would seem to be useful in your situation).
    Also, I don't know why your sister's friends would hate the Retina display. Many people love it because it gives them the ability to edit pixel by pixel with perfect accuracy.
    I would go for the Retina display. It has better specs for the same price so why not? Not to mention that it's much faster and will likely receive updates much longer than the new MacBook Pro without Retina display.

    What could cause only the work item of the 1st release step to stay In process?

  • P.O RELEASE PROCEDURE

    Hi guys,
    I have created the characteristic with the table KOMP and filed NETWR as a ref  and in value tab I have given 2 value that is below or equal to 100000 and more that or equal to 100001 and class ref ring the same char.
    I have created created two stategy ref one release code in one strategy and two release code in second strategy.
    But when I create the P.O only first strategy which in below 100000 is reflecting even if I increase the value to more that 100001.
    Please let me now which that place I need to correct the settings.

    Hi,
    Please create a new Characteristic with the structure and field name.
    Assign this Characteristic to a new Release Class.
    Create release group with two release codes.
    Take one release strategy and Release group combination and assign the first restriction value of below 100000 in CL20N
    Now, take the other release strategy and the rel group combination and assign the value more than 100001 in CL20N
    In first release strategy, take only one release code and for the 2nd one take both the codes and set pre-requisites
    Now, by creating the PO, you can see.
    One more point is that, if you have created one PO with the value below 100000, the first rel strategy will be triggered. Now, if you change the value in the same PO to more than 100001, then the second Release Strategy may not trigger (It depends on your Release Indicator settings). So, inorder to check the 2nd Release Strategy, create a new PO with the Value more than 100001.

                I have 1 issue regarding reseting of released po for amendment purpose .
    Scenario is as given below :
    we have configured  2 level release streategy for PO. In which we have set release indicator "1" . After 2nd release of po , user is not able to change PO. whenever they want to change po , po have been reseted by release authority , then only user can change po. Now I want to authorise HOD (Another user)  to reset po only in case of any amendment   & remove reseting  of PO authorisation from  release authority. Pl. let me know how can I configure  this scenario ?. Is there any objet for po reset, so that I will remove this object from release authority .

    Hi Raj,
    If i am understanding your problem,it is just change of the Roles from the the release authority to the HOD you want
    See just the role that contains the Release code and the release group.for the authority and attach it to this HOD.
    we can add to both users ,if  you want to authorize both user ,or else remove from one user to the other.
    so tell your basis team ,to change the roles from the authority to the HOD.

  • Another Release Strategy Question - Multi currency

    Hello,
      I have been searching for an answer to my delema to no avail on this board, but no answer yet.
    My problem:
      We have a Purchase Req. strategy with approval by Plant, Cost Center, and Total PR Value.
    The PR Value Characteristic is in US Dollars, but one of our companies is in Europe so we also need to have a PR Value Characteristic in Euros.
    Currently we have:
      Characteristic:  Z_PR_AMT referencing field CEBAN-GFWRT.  This is in US Dollars.
                             Z_PR_WERKS referencing field CEBAN-WERKS
                             Z_PR_KOSTL referencing field CEBAN-KOSTL.
      Class:              Z_PR_CLA with references to Characteristics: Z_PR_AMT, Z_PR_WERKS, and
                             Z_PR_KOSTL.
      Release Group: A1  that is assigned to class Z_PR_CLA
    Also, currently all PR's under $1000 (US Dollars) go through Workflow for release, and if the PR is over $1000 (US Dollars), requires a 2nd release.
    But, since we have a company in Europe, we also need to be able to have a Release Characteristic for Euros so that PR's in Europe under 1000 Euros go to a new release strategy, and PR's in Europe over 1000 Euros go to a 2nd release strategy.
    Can I add a new Characteristic to the Z_PR_CLA refering to the same CEBAN-GFWRT field, but use currency EUR (lets say Characteristic ZPR_AMT_E).  Then in CL20N (Classifications) when I am adding the actual values, leave the value information blank for the European Amount  characteristic and fill in the US Amount and assign to a US Release Strategy.   Then leave blank the US Amount charastieric field and fill in the European Amount characteristic field for Europe Release Strategies?
    Will this work?

    That is the problem we are trying to avoid.  We do not want to have to put in a manually converted 1,000 Euros to US Dollars.
    Currently we have a US Dollar limit for our European plant set at $1,474.30 which is to represent 1,000 Euros.  But this number changes with the fluxuation of the currency rates.
    So far in testing I do have 2 Characteristics defined for Currency, one for US Dollars and the other for Euros.  Both Characteristics have amounts loaded in them (via the CL20N screen).
    I do see in my debug sessions that there is a currency conversion to foreign currency in the LEBNDF01 include program, but since I have 2 Characteristics for Currency in the CL20N screen for this particular Release Strategy, this is messing up the conversion to foreign currency.
    I still have more debugging to go.

  • G1 Sync stuck at Backing up, since July 2

    I have upgraded to 3.0 and synced many times. But since July 2nd. I have been unable to sync my phone.
    I either get unable to find phone via an error message or Backing Up is stuck in an endless loop for hours.
    I've rebooted both PC and iPhone
    If I cancel the sync via iTunes or the iPhone, "Canceling Sync" is stuck in an endless loop.
    I am able to pull pictures and Last Fm can scrobble.

    I beliebe I have solved my own problem
    I saw a suggestion in another post that said to try a different USB port, and that did the trick.
    I guess iTunes does not like to sync over USB when that cable is plugged into a hub.

  • 2.0 Update Release Time

    Does anyone know what time (GMT) the updates will be avaliable (tunes 7.7 + 2.0 firmware) on the 11th? I am leaving early the next day, and because it will be a long drive, I want to be able to install the update and some games for the journey.

    Actually, Chris, the July 11th release of v2.0 is not speculation. In the official Apple iPhone 3G press release, Apple stated, +"iPhone 2.0 software will be available on July 11 as a free software update via iTunes® 7.7 or later for all iPhone customers."+
    Of course, it technically is speculation that the upgrade will be available for the iPod Touch on the same date, but that's almost a given.
    Release times have not been announced, but in the past, firmware upgrades have been rolled out geographically.

  • MacBook Pro and Airport connection problem

    My MacBook Pro has a volatile connection to my Airport Express base station.
    I have a 2-month old 15.4" MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo), all software updates are installed, etc. I connect to the internet through an Airport base station. For the past few days my MBP has had a dodgy connection, slowing down at seeming random and then occasionally disconnecting from the base station entirely, although the Airport icon on the MBP is always on. While downloading a file I noticed that the speed of the connection was incrementally slowing until it stopped, and it was only after a couple of retries and then connecting to the base station again (by finding it amongst the other networks on the pull-down menu that you get when you click on the Airport icon) that my connection resumed at its previous speed.
    My 12" PowerPC iBook connects to the internet over this Airport base station at full speed, no problems.
    I've tried resetting the PRAM on my MBP without change.
    One possibly noteworthy change is that this past week I updated my Parallels software to 3.0, which may have an effect based on some of the other threads I've read.
    What now?!

    After trying all of the above the suggestions, the problem returned as before. However, after digging some more I discovered that the issue appears to lie with the 10.4.10 version of the Mac OS; when I checked the software log under the system profiler I noticed that I had installed that update at about the time my Airport problems began. Apple then quietly released a v 1.1 combo update to 10.4.10 on July 2nd, which once installed appears to have resolved the problem.     What's curious is that originally Apple listed that the v 1.1 combo update resolved some issues with RAW image data, and some sound problems, which don't seem to have anything to do with Airport.

  • HORRIFIC Customer Service and Dishonest Business Practices

    After well over a decade of service with Verizon Wireless and having 6 active lines with them, Verizon has not only lost my business, I will do everything within my power to convince everyone I know or ever come in contact with that Verizon is not a company that anyone should ever do business with in any way, shape, or form including my family, friends, employers and anyone I ever see with a Verizon phone or considering doing business with Verizon. 
    Time are hard and I was working to pay off a past due amount.  I was coming close to being fully paid off.  I was current on my payment plan and there was no reason to expect my service to be terminated for a missed payment or failure to pay.  Then, Verizon wrongfully terminated five of my contracts, one of which had an unlimited data plan.  On July 2nd, I received a text message indicated that my account was scheduled for disconnect on July 7th and that I should call them if this is not what I wanted.  So, I called that same day.  I spoke with Amber.  I told her of this text message I received and was advised that it was because I had a past due balance.  I told her that #1 - the text message had nothing to do with my balance because I had arrangements made with Retention, those arrangements were met and current, and #2 - that the text message did not say that my service would be interrupted, but that it was being terminated. 
    I requested to speak with the department that handles complete disconnects so that I could ensure that my services were not scheduled for termination.  She refused to transfer me and told me that she didn't see any notice for disconnection on my account.  I requested again to speak with that department and she refused again assuring me that my account was fine and would not be disconnected.  Reluctantly, I hung up and waited. 
    On the evening of July 7th, FIVE of my SIX lines were terminated.  The only one NOT terminated was my line - the one I used to call from on July 2nd.  When I called Verizon to rectify the problem, they demanded the full past due, which I had arrangements for and was current in paying.  I refused.  I was transferred from one department to another to another with rep after rep assuring me that my services would be back on before the end of the day. 
    VZW even ADMITTED that the representative AMBER deleted the line item that showed my account was going to be disconnected, which is why my line remained active, but that she failed to do it for the other five lines on my account and, therefore, it was HER FAULT. 
    I spent a total of EIGHT HOURS on hold and on the phone with Verizon Wireless. And, of course, hours upon hours upon hours waiting for reps to call me back who never did. 
    One of the most disgusting things I experienced was spending hours getting transferred back and forth between customer service, financial services, retention and back to customer service all of them telling me that none of them were responsible for reconnecting lines and didn't have any ability to reconnect services! 
    REALLY?!?!?!?! 
    Verizon Wireless wrongfully disconnected my lines and then held them hostage and tried to extort money from me.  Now, they won't release my numbers back to me to port into another service.  My hubby is a service member and a civil federal employee.  He has to have his phone with him 24/7 and to change his number with them is a pain in the royal butt!  He's had that number for years.  Now I've had to go pay nearly $200 out of pocket to get new service and Verizon won't give his number back to him.  On top of all of it, VZW had the nerve to charge me over $527 in early termination fees for contract terminations!!!! 
    I hope that Amber loses her job, along with ever other representative who failed to resolve this issue and failed to call me back and make things right.

    Amazing!  After posting this and after filing an FCC Complaint, I got a phone call from Verizon this morning and all my lines have been reconnected and the early termination fees have been reversed.
    People, this is proof that if you've been wronged and you keep documentation of your efforts and don't just quit and give up and walk away and let people who have wronged you win.
    Whether or not I will continue with Verizon Wireless as my provider after the last of my contracts expires in 6 months has yet to be determined.  No credit was given for the $130 I had to put out for Straight Talk phones when they refused to turn my phones back on.
    It's a pity it took 5 days for them to actually do something forcing me to pay $130 cash for something I shouldn't have had to pay cash for.  Yes, I am grateful to have my phones back.  But, I've still been left harmed and that is a cryin' shame.
