  • Report to Report jump web queries variable screen on BW

    Hello,
We would like the variable screen to always popup when the user runs a main query. We would like the variable screen to never popup when jumping from one query to another query.
We are using BW 3.5. We are using web queries, NOT Excel. Both queries are running on BW. We have set up jump query parameters in RSBBS. These jump successfully with all of the appropriate required variables passed from the from the first query to the second query. We are using the standard 0ADHOC template for all queries, including the sender and receiver queries.
With the FORCE_VARIABLE flag set to TRUE, both the sender and receiver queries popup the variable entry screen. With FORCE_VARIABLE flag set to FALSE, both sender and receiver queries do NOT popup the variable screen. We would like the FORCE_VARIABLE flag set to TRUE for the sender query and set to FALSE for the receiver query. Is this possible? How do you set the FORCE_VARIABLE flag to FALSE dynamically based on the fact that the user has just jumped to a receiver query?
Another alternative would be to build two query templates, one for sender queries and one for receiver queries. How do you switch to a different template when the user is ready to jump?
I have also been fooling with the RESET_DATA_PROVIDER command available in BW 3.5, but have not had any luck. Can this be used to accomplish my objective? How do I use it? Please remember that I am not setting specific jump targets in the web template. I would like this work generically based on settings from RSBBS.
Any other ideas to force the variable screen on the 1st query and bypass the variable screen when the user is ready to jump would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Kelley

    Hi Kelley,
Here is what is mentioned in SAP Help:
Calling up the Web template with reset variables and active variable screen
    http://yourAppServer:yourPort/SAP/BW/BEx?CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=yourTemplate<b>&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X</b>&VARIABLES_CLEAR=X
Have you tried changing the URL for your sender query like this?

  • Problems doing the jump between queries

    Hi BI experts!
I've a problem when I jump from header query to detailed level one. It's difficult to explain, but I try it!
In header query I have Vendor, VAT Reg. No, Total Num of invoices and Total Net Amount. The Header report shows (always speaking with examples!!) for one specific Vendor three VATs with their relative Num of Invoices and Net Amounts.
When I do the jump over one specific VAT or Num of Inv, I show in Detailed query the relative invoices one by one, it's right.
But when I do the jump over the Vendor, the normal thing should be show all Invoices of all VATs Reg.Num for that Vendor, but spite being showed all, I only show the Invoices (always one by one) of the first VAT Reg.Num.
If Vendor "A" has VAT "xx" with 3 invoices and "yy" with 5 invoices, doing the jump over VAT "xx" or over the Total Num Invoices which shows the value 3, in detailed I see 3 rows (right), and if I do it over "yy" or over 5, I see 5 rows in detailed level. But if I do the jump over the vendor "A", spite being 8 invoices, I see the 3 invoices of "xx" because in this case "xx" is the first VAT.
    It happens for all Vendors
Thanks you very much for reading this and I hope you had understood it.

  • Adding a KF from another Cube

    Hi Gurus,
I have requirement to add 2 Key Figures from one query of InfoProvider A to another query of a different InfoProvider B. Please guide me in designing the query.
    Thanks,
    S

    Hi Sid,
In this case you can consider using jump target queries. You need the 2 queries set up on the cubes as reqd. Then in RSBBS assign them as sender and receiver. Then when you execute the sender query, you can right click and jump to the receiver query. When you do so char values from report 1 will be transferred to report 2 (for whatever chars are common in both queries).
    Hope this helps...

  • Showing a variable as filter in a jump beween 2 queries

    Dear experts,
I've did a jump between 2 queries and I'm working on the Web Application Designer of SAP 3.x. So I need to show the input variable (which was introduced in the query 1) as a variable of one characteristic in a target query. That variable must also act as the filter of the target query .
In conclusion, an input variable of the query 1 must be saw as a variable of one characteristic in target query and it must be a filter of this target query as well.
    Thank you in advance
    Jorge

    Hi Jorge,
Create an input variable for say "Calday" and this object should be common i.e avaliable in both the reports.
In the Assigments in RSBBS define this Calday as DELETE instead of Generic.
When you execute the report right click on the Calday and Execute it will take u to next report based on Calday, hence Calday will act as filter and an input variable to the next report !!!!!!!
if this is not the requirement then pl explain with an Example !!!!!!!!!
    Try this !!!!!!

  • BI RRI for Jump Queries

    Hi,
We configured BI Jump queries from BW to ECC systems. When BW jumps on to ECC system it uses remote user configured in the Source System and it launches ITS url on ECC system which gives the results after passing user ID and Password.
    My question here is:
    1. Is it possible to configure such a way that it will not use Remote user configured in Source System. I am OK with creating another source system for the same SID and System. I need to know how to create additional source system for same SID and System if this helps.
    2. Even if we use Remote user is there a possibility of not prompting for user ID and Password when it jumps to ECC system?
The query goes in to ECC like this
End user from BW Bex ---> ECC Remote user on ECC (How SSO will work in this case)
Is it possible to user current user by creating one more source system and a seperate RFC?

Please search the forum and you will find lots of good info on both of your questions.

  • Question on Jump Queries

    Hello  Everyone,
Generally we build the jump queries in RSBBS and do the config to create jump query link from summary report to a detail report.
I know how to find the relationship for set of queries whether they have jump queries or not.
But I don't know if I have the detail query and now I need to find the parent query.  I have a requirement  in which the list of queries ( child queries - detail queries ) and need to find the Parent Query ( summary report) .
Steps to find the Jump query links (like summary to details query relationship).. Follow the below steps.
Go to SE11 -> RSZELTDIR table name ->
Provide your summary query name 'Query 1' in MAPNAME and OBJVERS A. Now you get
the ELTUID of that summary query
Now go to SE11 -> RSBBSQUERY and provide
ELTUID [of Query 1] and now you see list of RONAM connected with this query.
Again get RONAM from RSBBSQUERY and provide it in
SE 11 -> RSZELTDIR -- ELTUID..now you get your detailed query name 'Query 2'
    in MAPNAME of RSZELTDIR
Similary I need to know how to find if I have Child query ( detail report ) and now I need to find the Parent report ( summary report). I tried finding out but did not succeed. Need your assistance.
    Looking forward for your inputs.
    Appreiciate your help in advance.
    John.

    Hi John,
    Try this;
    1. Go to RSZELTDIR table name -> Provide your child query name 'Query2' in MAPNAME and OBJVERS A. Now you get the ELTUID of that child query (say query2ELT).
    2. Go to RSBBSQUERY and provide query2ELT* in RONAM field. Don't forget to add * to query2ELT.
Now you get the ELTUID of the parent query in ELTUID ( say query1ELT).
    3. Go to RSZELTDIR table and provide query1ELT in ELTUID field and OBJVERS A. Then in MAPNAME you will find the parent query.

  • Destinations jump queries

    Hello,
I understand that to define the destiny of the jump is performed queries from the transaction RSBBS, but what is clear is not me if I define a destination for a jump querie that run from BEX analyzer, the same fate jump me serves to execute the same querie in WEB, or I have to define another to operate a Web?
    Regards,

You don't have to create new query to run it on Web. But it is better to have a distinction in the name space to differentiate between Bex Queries and Portal/Web queries.
In RSBBS you just need to define the name of the query where you have to jump to.It should be very simple and clear.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP Tables for Bex Jump Queries

    Hello Everyone,
Need to know, is there any SAP table which stores the list of jump queries in the system.
    Can you share your inputs.
    Regards,
    John

I have one more follow up question with reference to the SAP table...
Lets say we are creating a jump query from summary query " Query 1 " did the jumpto config on the plant characterstic and jumping to detail query " query 2".

  • Partition a cube, Jump queries.

    Hi all,
    1. When do we partition a cube?
    2. Why should we link reports in jump queries? Where do we use them?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sameer.

    Hi,
    For Partition of cube
Just right click on Infocube -> Change or doble click on the infocube to go to infocube maintenace. From the menu choose Extras ->Partioning.
Now ,if say, your requirement is to extract data as it is from different tables, you can go with view. But if there is some complex business logic to be included, you can do that in a FM.
Check the folowing links for jumping.

  • Transport Request for Jump Queries

    Hi,
When i try to create a transport request for the jump queries using the transport connection button in rsbbs tcode i am able to create only for the sender query but
my jump query has one sender and two receiver queries.
Could anyone of you tell me the process of creating a transport request for the jump query,
    regards,
    vamsi

    Hi,
the request for the jump queries contains for sure the jump queries. Edit the request and double click on the entries and you will see that it transports the contents of tables rsbbsquery, rsbbsqrydir, rsbbsqrymapping... for the key arguments <your sender query> or <your sender cube>. Those table entries will contain also the information about the receivers.
    regards

  • PLEASE EXPLAIN JUMP QUERIES........

    Hi Experts,
Can someone please explain to me the concept of JUMP QUERIES.
Any documentation would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Jump Queries: This is also known as Report to Report Interface (RRI). Here, we have 2 queries that get linked up. One is a Sender Query and the other is a Receiver Query.
Define 2 queries and have a few characteristics in common.
Goto t.code RSBBS. Fill in the query from which you want the Jump, ie. Sender Query. Then give the name of the Receiver Query. Here, the queries are linked up.
Now, when you execute your Sender query, in the Context Menu (right click on the characteristic) you get the option of "_Go To_". On clicking that, a new screen opens up and the data from the Receiver Query is displayed.
    Hope this helps.
