Just changed fromExplr 9 to Firefox. New page does not show my list of "Favorites"--not referring to Bookmarks. Had Att.com as homepage before.

Bookmarks and history are stored together in your profile folder in a database file named places.sqlite. These articles should help with restoring as much or as little of your other profile as you like:

I fixed it!!! Following advice from similar posts, I searched the hard drive for "sessionrestore.js" in my Firefox Profiles folder (you'll need to enable viewing of hidden files in Windows Explorer (Tools > Folder Options > View (then select Hidden files option) then Apply to all folders) to do this). I then shut down Firefox, deleted the file and restarted - my home page was correct and it didn't try to open my old session! Some other posts suggested deleting everything called "sessionrestore" in that folder, but I didn't need to.

It's a new machine - and the Thunderbolt Display is meant to work with it. You need to just make an appointment at your local Apple Store and have them fix whatever is wrong.
If you like, you could always try a SMC reset and a PRAM/NVRAM reset to see if either of those will get your keyboard back in working order...

Shift-Command-H is the key-combo to switch 'Long Header'/'Standard Header' .

I have just changed to firefox from IE and am trying to start using it .When loading FF it asked me if I wanted to import my ie favourites -answer .yes but I cannot find them

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks).
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
* Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
* Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

I reinstalled Firefox from a cd still can't find a webpage.

More correctly, Firefox still returns 'can't find server' when i attempt a search. Have gone through all of the firewall settings

The bookmark star has disappeared from my toolbar and can't find how to get it back

The bookmark star on the right side of the toolbar has disappeared. I have read the support articles and can not find anything on how to pin it to the task bar. I restored the tool bar and it did not reappear. What do I need to do to get it back. The bookmark tab is not a convenient.

The photos tab appears on the right-hand side of iTunes when you've selected the device, in the same way as the music, films tabs etc appear for syncing those items to the iPad. You need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - not including photos in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from the iPad. Just got an 8830 from a friend and can't setup email

A friend gave me a used 8830 today. I have switched it to my number but I am not able to set up email. I think it is because I cannot register a new username/password with the phone's PIN/ESN. It says the device has already been registered. However, I do not know the username/password (and won't be able to find it out). Any suggestions? Is there a way to reset the username/password associated with this PIN/ESN?

Usually the previous owner has to contact the carrier to release the PIN from their system. I don't think that if you call Verizon (or whoever the previous carrier was) that they'll let you do that yourself. Can the person you got the phone from contact the carrier for you?

HT2486 I can't find how to import contacts from my mail and can't find a contact button in my mail. when I click on the word contact in the left upper corner like they told me a little box comes up with copyright info but doesn't give me any info.

Another question would be if the address book on Macbookair is like a central address book for all emails.

Upgraded to Lion and can't find previous backups

I upgraded a Macbook to Lion from Snow Leopard. The laptop had been on time machine backing up to a time capsule for about a year. Then when I fired up the laptop it wan't backing up. So I went into the "Time Machine Preferences" and it asked me to select disk. When I selected disk it wanted to re-back up the entire computer. It didn't recognize any of the previous backups.
Does anyone know how to keep the previous backups in the time machine so I can look at the older files still if I need to?

The User/Library folder is now hidden in Lion. To get to the "user" Library folder you now have to access it from Finder>Go>Go To Folder.
Once there, type this: /users/(your administrator name here)/Library/

I have accidently deleted safari from my iphone and can't find it to put it back. I did it ages ago as I didn't know what it was and I was trying to create extra space! Now when I click on a link say in an email, it doesn't come up with a browser. I have looked at the apple site but can only see a download for mac users. Not sure if this is the case because it is preinstalled on the iphone.
