just got my ATV2 and the stream from my win 7 Itunes library drops out after 30min of when changing movies. I have to turn off and turn on home share to stream again. Should i return all my apple products and go android instead....help, I want it to work. My firewall is off, ATV2 is running on ethernet and library is on wireless. My ps3 streams just fine over the network, I assume Itunes is at fault?

Please any one who comes across this and shares in my fustrations please click below and lodge a complaint. There is no solution to the dropouts until apple sorts it...Lets get the message across loud and clear

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.

We always manually manage our music (no auto sync). iTunes is up to date on the PCs. My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines. He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4. I've read some of the post here that I thought might help but they refer to titles (Music) and triangles in the "Devices" window which are nowhere to be seen when I open the "Devices" window.
I have iTunes 11.0.3 and Mac OS 10.6.8. Does this make a difference?

I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

Thank you deggie to answer me . You know, I don't know much of computers and of technology but when I bought that ipod back when they came out 2005 I was able to download music from my CDs and from Youtube to itunes then transfer to my ipod and back and forth to itunes . Then if I had changed of computer I was able to transfer to that new computer.Why I'm not able to do it ? There is a program(Sharepod) that allow to do that but it cost $35.00 but I thought that was free or it is because that now I have to buy from itunes only?

From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

Just got this Laptop and the audio is not working for videos

My operating system is Windows 8.1 with Bing. I just got this laptop computer for my college work and love it, but my audio does not work when I watch Videos. The laptop makes a weird tappign noise often. I need my audio to work for my course work online. The audio when I watch videos online either does not work at all or it breaks up as I am handling the laptop in the m hands. I have already did troubleshooting tests on the laptop and it can not find any problems but I know something is not right due to the noise and now my audio not working Please help me or tell me how HP can fix my laptop in a speedy mannor. It needs to go to the shop. That noise irritates me and I know that any kind of laptop pc is not suppose to make noises like that. The audio must work for my to complete my college homework and classwork online.

HT6065 Just got my computer and the update won't install.

It says it needs to restart and I install, agree and restart with the restart it through the program, but it doesn't restart. I can restart it but it still says there is an update when it turns back on. Not sure how to get my update to install.

1. Did you complete the Setup Assistant?
     I wasn't acutally the person that turned on and set up the computer for the first time, but I am thinking that it wasn't done.

     Yes
3. When your restart the computer exactly what happens?
     Normal restart stuff. Turns off then a gray screen then it loads the login screen.
4. From where did the software update notice come?
     The App Store
5. What application says there is an update?
     Macbook Pro Retina (late 2013) Software Update 1.0
     MacBook Pro EFI firmware update 1.3
     OS Update 10.9.1
I choose the update button in the App Store, it has me agree to the licensing agreement and says I need to restart the computer. I hit enter to restart the computer and then nothing happens. It doesn't restart but the button to click to update then says updated. Upon restarting the computer from the drop down apple menu the app store opens and says I need to update still.

My iTunes Library cleared out after the forced shutdown, how to recover it?

So here is the thing, yesterday as usual, i was adding songs to my 10,000 tracks library's super organized as i do most of the time. Then i decided to shut down the computer instead of just putting in of just hibernating him as i always do.. So my habit was to just close the laptop, this time i had it clicked to shut down but then i closed it before it really turned off. That means today when i opened it back it still was asking me if i really wanted to force quit the applications i had still opened, i said 'yes' and then the computer truly shut down. Then i restarted it again, opened browser, and when i open iTunes ALL my library was simply gone!
I know that i didnt trashed any of the .itl or .xml files the day before so i really shocked when i saw it I dont know why did it happened, i wasnt updating iTunes or anything else..
I went to 'iTunes' Folder in 'Music' folder, and there were the 'iTunes Library' .itl and a 'iTunes Library (2)' files along with the usual Extra, Genius .itl files and the .xml too.
So ive searched on the thrash that by casualty still had files from TEMP folder i had erased a few weeks ago, and there only Extra and Genius .itl files but no iTunes Library .itl file... So it was not a thing happened by my manual deleting.
I've tried re-installing the latest version of iTunes i found on the site (it was just a 'repair' since the version was up to date) and opened it again and there was still nothing :/
I checked 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and f****! The newest file was from March this year (2012), i knew that ive added hundreds of new songs since that date and one other thing, i knew that date was not the latest update ive done to iTunes, the last one was for sure way after that kinda something in May or June so i dont know too why did it not appeared that .itl file.
So i tried opening that 'iTunes Library (2)', and from my 10k songs it would only show ~8900 and then i tried the 'iTunes Library' from March and it would only show 9000 songs, So i guess im ****** up by 1000 songs difference... That is a lot a still, since they were all organized by Name, Artist, Album, Genre, Year, Rate, Times Played, Artwork,etc..
So now i have serious problems..
Do you have any suggestion on ways i could follow in order to find my 'Yesterday' Library infos and songs? With all the stuff it had? Like rewinding in time?
Even if you dont, and presuming i would want to add those 1000 missing files from the iTunes Music folder where, dont know why, says i have 14k songs, which is very strange since i always delete to recicle bin all the songs i want to clear out from the Library so they wont stay in folder and not in iTunes, so how could i add those missing 1000 without adding those other 9000 that would be repeated??
Please, somebody help me with this, because at this moment im really out of solutions and my Library and its organization are "my babies" and it would be a devastating loss to me if i have to ruined this way :S

Reinstalling iTunes won't ever repair damaged libraries or find lost files.
Unlike nearly all Windows software double-clicking an iTunes Library file does not necessarily open the selected database. Rather, iTunes opens the last database it successfully opened, or if that was in the "normal" <User's Music>\iTunes location, but is missing, it will create a new empty library.
You can open an alternate library file, or create a new one, by holding down shift as you start iTunes. Although you can open the library files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder this way, your library will perform better if you restore the archived library database to the main iTunes folder in the way that I have described.
Your most recent library may be present in the main iTunes folder as a .tmp file, or recoverable via a file undelete tool, however either of these files, if found, may be partially corrupt getting you no further forward.
The two most recent releases of iTunes were June 11th and March 28th 2012..
Yes I read your post, but I don't know if you know all of the above. If you had a full backup of your library you could just restore that. It is possible that what you've tried so far hasn't yet brought back the most complete version of your library that is available to you. As a last resort you will have to work with what you have and add in whatever media is not in that version of your library, accepting the loss of recently added ratings, playlists & play counts.
You can simply add the entire iTunes Media folder using File > Add Folder to Library folder which should ignore everything already in the library and only add new (to that database) stuff. If there is any chance that your iTunes media folder contains .m3u playlist files the import process will also import all of those, which may not be what you want. iTunes Folder Watch would then present a better approach.

I tried simulating and checking the installed PD files and found out the due to the security setting set for Panther, upon installation Palm Conduit installer changes the ownership and permission settings of some Palm folders to Read Only. The Palm Desktop Installer requires these folders have Read & Write access. That is why problems occurs even after seeing complete installation. What I did to correct this is uninstall/reinstall not just once but many times til the complete Palm files were correctly installed to its designated system files.

I tried the import software (trial version) and it was fine but I didn't want to pay for software. You can authorize up to 5 computers in the house to access your iTunes music and other iTunes purchases. Open iTunes, you can go under Store and select Authoize this computer.

I JUST GOT AN IPHONE AND I AM TRYING TO CONVERT MY MUSIC INTO RINGTONES. I GOT ONE OF THE APPS THAT DOE THIS AND HAVE MADE RINGTONE. HOWEVER I CANNOT GET THE RINGTONE ON MY IPHONE. I DO NOT HAVE A TONES TAB ON MY IPHONE SCREEN.

I just got an Iphone and I am trying to get my Itunes music as my ringtone. I already got an app and made a ringtone. I even got the tones tab to appear in my Itunes library. I cannot however get a tones tab to appear on my Iphone sync area. Also I cannot get any of my ringtones into the tones folder. They are no longer than 30 seconds so that is not the problem. Any ideas?

Does this app not provide a video on how to sync it with itunes and then sync it to your phone.
If you have transfer the ringtone to your computer, play the ringtone - then it should move to your tones folder in itunes. Just make sure when you play the ringtone it's plays in itunes.
