Just started java
Hi i just started java and installed J2re-1_3_1_08-windows-i586-i
I have an XP OS and tryed to type mij first little java program
public class app
public static voi main(String[] args)
System.out.println(" Greats from Java!");
now when i try to run this in xp bij c:\Java app i get mij ms-dos screen so fast that i can not read what it said.
when i run it true cmd and then java app i get an error : Exception in Thread "main" java.lang.noclassdeeffounderror: app
What am i doing wrong
but that line of setclass do i have to put it in the
java program or somewhere else. i did read in the book
that i had to go to systems of windows xp and set a
path but the book did not tell me what path i had to
setActually the path your book was talking about is the windows system path, which is a system environment variable created when you install the os.
You add to this variable the path to java.exe, javac.exe etc...
for example if your sdk directory is C:\j2sdk1.4.2 you add the /bin sub-directory to the path by executing (in a dos window) :
set path = %path%;C:\j2sdk1.4.2\bin
With this you can type directly java, javac etc... on the command line without the os complaining that it doesn't know these commands.
The classpath is something specific to java that has relationship to the system path.

Help in starting Java Card Programming
Hi all,
Im totally new here. I just started Java Card programming. However I dont know how to start though I think I have enough stuff. I have installed Java 1.6.0_02, JCOP tool 3.1.2, run Eclipse 3.3.0. I also have a dual interface smart card reader SDI010 and some smart card (dual access). I activated JCOP Tool, created new Java Card project, but after I entered package AIDs and applet AIDs I dont know what I should do next. I looked through several books in Eclipse (Eclipse for dummies) but cant find anything about Java Card. Anyone have experience in this area please help me to start. If you know any document that guides step by step, please let me know. I found source code in Sun website (wallet.java) but I really dont know how to use it. Thanks a lot.Hi,
select
Project -> Build Automatically. It will build a .CAP file every time you changed your Java Card project code and save it. You will see it in the
CAP file viewer in the left corner (but only in case you are developing your JC applet in Java Card in Eclipse project and opened one of the
JCOP perspectives: either development or debug).
P.S. I suppose, that u still haven't looked through the JCOP tools documentation in the Eclipse IDE Help menu.
Best regards,
Eve

When I bring up Safari on my IPAD2, the web page comes up, but I can't scroll down the page. This just started today. No matter what web site I go to, the content is darker than the navigation pane.
If it's happening on all sites, then assuming that it's Safari that you're using, have you tried clearing it's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (other browsers should have similar options, possibly within the actual app instead of within Settings). You could also try closing the app completely : from the home screen double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app (or whichever browser you're using) to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it's only happening on a particular site then there may be content on that site that isn't supported on the iPad e.g. flash, java, silverlight -
Just started Livecycle yesterday. Need help with Javascripting
I'm new to scripting in general, but have figured out enough to be dangerous in Acrobat. Unfortunately, Acrobat no longer fulfills the need I have for dynamic forms and I have started trying to figure out Livecycle. Is the scripting in Livecycle THAT different from Acrobat that I need to relearn the scripting I figured out in Acrobat? Below is an example. It is in a table where I am trying to determine height of instrument (HI) from the elevation (Ele) and the difference between back (BS) and fore sights (FS). Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
This is the script I used in Acrobat and it worked:
if(this.getField("BSRow2").value) {
var add = this.getField("BSRow2").value + this.getField("EleRow1").value
this.getField("HIRow2").value = add;
} else {
var height = this.getField("HIRow1").value
this.getField("HIRow2").value = height;
This is the script I used in Livecycle and it doesn't
if(this.getField(BS).value) {
var add = this.getField(BS).value + this.getField(Row1.Ele).value
this.getField(this).value = add;
} else {
var height = this.getField(Row1.HI).value
this.getField(this).value = height;Hi i just started programming in java.

Netbeans 6.9.1 'cannot start java.exe'
Hello,
I've installed the JDK and then Netbeans 6.9.1 (Windows 7). When I try to run a JavaFX application, it fails ( saying 'cannot start java.exe' ).
Just found [http://www.netbeans-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4220|http://www.netbeans-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4220]
But locating the JDK on a different place ( using a path without whitespaces ) also didn't help.
What could be the problem?
thanks
Edited by: Lichti on Sep 4, 2010 1:17 PMYou can also specify which JDK Netbeans uses (as the default JDK and thus as the JDK used by the JavaFX module) by modifying netbeans_jdkhome in C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.9.1\etc\netbeans.conf

Which progam starts java services on WAS
When I'm logged into an ECC WAS as <sid>adm and I run the command "startsap" how do the java services get started?
Specifically, I'd like to know how the jlaunch process for the dispatcher and server are started. I don't see anything in the "startsap" script that starts java for a WAS - though I do see were it tries to start the JAVA database, but I'm not asking about the server where the JAVA database installed. The WAS server in question is a dual-stack WAS.
ThanksThis is for dualstack NW 7.0 systems:
startsap -> reads start profile -> among others starts the dispatcher process (the classic Abap dispatcher)
if rdisp/j2ee_start = 1 is set then the j2ee is started, by the dispatcher.
Although the j2ee can be controlled via SMICM, it is the dispatcher who starts and stops it.

Best regards Michael
Edit: btw, the J2EE central services (SCS instance) are started by startsap, the are just another instance
Edit2: the jlaunch dispatcher/server are started by jcontrol, check the documentation on the detailed j2ee startup here: [Startup, Operation and Shutdown of a Java Instance|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/DE/a2/852aca5cd96f4796e51ba0f7a28926/frameset.htm] -
Just starting out problems!
Hi,
i've just started working with RMI, i created a very simple server and client, ran them successfully both on one machine. When i tried on 2 machines on a home network (2 pcs running XP) the client always has a timeout exception when trying to connect to the server. Following is my code for both:
import java.rmi.*;
public interface RMIServer extends Remote
public void setResult(String s1, String s2) throws RemoteException;
import java.rmi.*;
import java.rmi.server.*;
public class RMIServerImpl extends UnicastRemoteObject implements RMIServer
public void setResult(String s1, String s2)
System.out.println(s1 + " " + s2);
public RMIServerImpl() throws RemoteException
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
RMIServerImpl server = new RMIServerImpl();
String serverName = "//localhost/RMIServer";
Naming.rebind(serverName, server);
System.out.println("RMIServer running...");
import java.rmi.*;
public class RMIClient
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
RMIServer server = (RMIServer) Naming.lookup("//localhost/RMIServer");
server.setResult("Hello", "World");
}instead of localhost i pur the ip of the server when on 2 machines. Is my code wrong or is it something to do with my network and not Java.
Thank you.Hello,
You mean windows HOSTS file at windows\system32\drivers\etc\ ?
i did more testing, its works on 2 machines but only with one as server, the other client. If you reverse their roles, making the client a server and the server a client, then the client can't connect to the server.
Is some configuration problem of the LAN causing this? I pinged both PC's addresses and they both seem to see each other. Is there some test i could do to determine the cause.
Thank you. -
Macbook running very slow - just started, HELP
Hello,
My MacbookPro just recently started running very slow, even doing simple tasks it runs slow. Was working perfect Sep. 8, 2014. Turned it off for the night, then turned it on the next morning and it took about 5 mins just to even turn on. After it finally turned on EVERYTHING just started running opening the internet, Word, Power Point, and even iTunes was running slow. The songs were literally stopping every 30 seconds. My Mac has worked perfect and all of the sudden BAM. I use it for school all the time so its kind of stressing me out. It keeps freezing up as Itype this message unfortunately.
I ran Etrresoft like most ask here are results:
NOTE** - I deleted Hamchi awhile back, i am unsure how to get rid of it because i don't know where to find it, i thought i had deleted everything.

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software. -
Start java calss from a batchfile
Hi everbody,
i would like to start a java class from a batchfile, but I have no clue how to do it. Please help me.
kind regards
maxthe real question is why do you want to create a batch
file to start a java class and not just type java
MyClass at the command line...And how then do you distribute it to your chums and buddies?
This has to be the easiest way to do this. -
I bought a new app ($0.99), bought $19.00 worth of on app purchases and the app crashed, now it says that I have to start a new game since i had just started it and didn't get a chance to save it, so my question is, how do i get my money back?
I'm keeping the app, i just need the $19.00 back.

I'm trying to create a new movie. It tells me to name my movie, and the only event choice in the drop down menu is the last movie I made. IMovie Library is greyed out. I'm lost and I'm just starting. Not sure I like the new version. Any help out there?

Thanks & Regards,
Devender VHi Community,
I have to warm this topic again.
I'm facing the same problem like devender. I followed the posted advices, whithout any change. I also checked note 741289 - no change. I restarted the j2ee engine out of TA SMICM where I also checked the application server's state (j2ee Server Operational = FALSE) - no effect.
In SAPMMC I restarted the instance without any effect. The disp+work.EXE still has a yellow state, says "Running, Message Server connection ok, Dialog Queue time: 0.00 sec, J2EE status info unavailabe.
I think the developer trace says the same like devenders:

In the servers process-list (Task Manager) there is no entry for jlaunch (related to [Java Startup und Control Framework|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_NW70/helpdata/de/4f/7ead42c893b211e10000000a155106/content.htm] )

There's the solution manager running on the same server. In his instance everything's fine.
After changing some instance parameters i'm getting some errors:
1. Parameter Name: jstartup/instance_properties
General standardvalue: $(jstartup/j2ee_properties)$(FILE_SEP)$(jstartup/sdm_propert
Specified standardvalue: D:\usr\sap\EI3\D00\j2ee\cluster\instance.properties;D:\usr\s
2. Parameter Name: exe/j2ee
General standardvalue: (Default)
Specified standardvalue. D:\usr\sap\EI3\SYS\exe\run\jcontrol.EXE
Ok, I think I got it. The specified standardvalues the system is selecting are wrong.....but how can I influence the systems selection?

I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails. This just started happening. I have an iPhone and I can send emails from my phone fine. It's just not working on my Macbook. Every time I try to send an email it goes straight to my outbox. Can anyone help?
Thank you for heading me in the right direction. I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information). I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)?? In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port: 465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer." Authentication: Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in. After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there.
What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message: "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.). The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587. Verify your account settings and try again." That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails. I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me. Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input! Much appreciated!
