Key figure Structure

hi,
Is there a restriction that there can only be 1 key figure structure in the columns section??? If no, how to get more than 1 structure with key figures in them both.
Thanks & Regards,
Rathy

Ok,
Then you just have to create a formula in the column structure to calculate the variance.
*char1
key figure structure:
*A1-amt restricted with char2
*A2amt restricted with char2..(in this different values of char2...also there is only 1 kf amt in the infoprovider)
*A1 %A A2 You creates this formula and you will have one structure like:
Value1 char1 -
Value 2 Char1
A1--A2A1 %A A2        A1A2--A1 %A A2
If you put the char in rows the structure will be:
A1       A2        A1 %A A2
Value1 char1
Value2 char1
I hope it helps now.

  • Fiscal year in the columns outside the key figure structure

    Dear Experts
I have a report requirement to show the keyfigures in the columns from year 1 to year 10 and in each year there are 4 keyfigures each restricted to 1 quarter for 4 quarters.
So, there are too many keyfigures to create.
I am using fiscal year in the columns outside the Key figure structure containing the keyfigures restricted at each of 4 quarters.
So, when the report displays, all the 10 years will automatically be displayed.
The problem is one of the 4 quarter level keyfigures needs to be restricted by calendar year.
How can I read what is the fiscal year for each column at runtime so that I can reference this value to determine the calendar year ?
As you know, each FY spans 2 Calendar Years. So, i need to restrict this on the 4th keyfigure by calendar year but while having the FY outside the keyfigure structure i can get all the FY, I am not sure how to access this value at runtime so that eg.
if FY for column 1 is 2010, i can set calendar year to be 2010 to 2011.
Hope you can give me some clues.
    Thanks you Gurus!
    Best regards
    John

    Dear Sunnybt
Copy Riyes,  I find your response interesting. Please could you elaborate your idea of using condition in more detail.
    Sorry for my late response.
Allow me to clarify my statement, which you are right, is unclear.
    By :
"if the current QuarterFY is less than the current QuarterFY"
    I mean :
eg. user enters FY range : 2009 to 20NN  (eg. 2017)
    KF_column1_FY2009_Q1______KF_column2_FY2009_Q2____KF_column3_FY2009_Q3______KF_column_FY2009_Q4______KF_column_FY2010_Q1______KF_column2_FY2010_Q2____KF_column3_FY2010_Q3______KF_column_FY2010_Q4_____KF_column_FY_NNNN_Q1
For each column, where the FY can be any year range entered by user,
the Text Description of the Column should show either 'Actual' or 'Plan' based on what is the current FY Quarter at runtime.
If the FY Quarter (eg. 1st column is 200101) is before current FY Quarter (i.e 201103), then the Description of this column should be "Actual" , else "Plan".
In my current design, I am unable to use customer exit text variable to meet this requirement.
So, I like to check with you for fresher ideas.
If not , I would use a workbook, which I am avoiding as the user needs to drilldown and I believe drilldown is not possible in workbooks where report layout needs to be rigid or cell positions fixed. Of course, unless there is a way out of this which I do not know.
    Best regards

  • Problems when removing reference of a key-figure structure

    Dear All,
While working in the query designer, when I remove the reference from a globally used key-figure structure (using the context menu of the structure) for some editing, the query output is then not the same as it use to be when the reference was not removed.
Do we need to maintain any setting or activate/generate the KF structure once it is changed from its initial state (like in the above case I discussed).
My Exact problem : -  I have a input ready key figure (for planning) that remains input ready when the query is executed without removing the reference from the structure, however when i remove the reference from the structure, it becomes non-input ready.

  • How to create a crosstab based on BW Query which has key figure structure

    Hi,
We are on CR 2008 SP1.
We have an existing BW query with custom Characteristics structure in the "Columns" section and a custom Key Fugure structure in the "Rows" section in the BW query designer.
Cell editor has been used to define formulas of the cells.
We wish to build a crystal report on top of the query.
On the crystal report on top of the query we get the characteristics structure and individual key figure elements. As already discussed in multiple fourm posts, this is the expected behaviour.
We are using a cross tab and in the column section, I have put the "Characteristic" structure  in the  "columns" section in the crosstab using the crosstab expert. This leads to horizonatal column headings as per expectation.
Within the characteristics structure we have multiple fields which description "%" with diffeent formula's defined on the BW query designer. On the Cyrtsl Report, when we get the columns in the crosstab, we get only a single "%" field. All other "%" fields are not visible.
    A. Is there a way to get all fields in in case of same description?
I tried putting in the Key Figure elements in the "Rows" section, but was not able to get desired output.
Experts: Can you advice how this report can be built?
    Any help will be appretiated.

  • Grouping Key Figures via Web item?

    Hi,
in our webtemplates we would like to split the key figures (part of a structure) into two web items.
Is it possible to split key figures, all part of one key figure structure, over two web items.
    Which webitem can handle this?
Or does it require custom java(script)?
    Thanks and regards,
    Hans.

    Hi
If I'm understanding your requirement correctly, what you could do is just use the standard analysis item. That item has a config value where you can specify which columns must be displayed.
If you know which key figures you want displayed where, you can set those values.
So, for the 1st analysis item you would display columns 1-5, and the 2nd analysis item would then show columns 6-15.
I'll play around with this and see if I can get it working, altenately let me know if this answers your question already.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

  • Problem with the behaviour of input ready key figure

    Dear All,
I am using one input ready key figure in a globally reusable key figure structure for my planning layout. When the input ready query is executed as such, the i/p ready key figure is readily available for inputting any data (as expected), but the moment the global reference from the key figure structure is removed in the query designer (from the context menu - > Remove Reference), that i/p ready key figure structure turns out to be non input ready and hence no entering of data is then possible.
I am removing the reference from the structure for some other editing purpose but the above mentioned problem comes in between.
The only input that i can provide is that this i/p ready key figure utilizes two hidden inverse formulas, but eventhough things are fine when the reference is not removed.

    Hello Durgesh,
I suspect this to be a bug. Please open a customer message so SAP support can analyze the issue (include technical names of the original query with global structure and your new query where the reference was removed; put it on component BW-PLA-IP-QD).

  • Documentation for Formula Key Figure

    Hi BW Gurus,
I have a Formula Key Figure which has been defined in a local key figure structure. This key figure is based on a two standard Key figures which exist in the Cube.
How can I create Documentation for this formula key figure, so that user can see documentation after right click in the Key figure in the query result.
I have tried followings, but did not work.
    1) Go to Properities of the query and go to Documentation . In the next screen, create documentation directly using the technical name of the Formula key figure.
    2) Go to Documentation in RSA1 and create documentation using the same way(technical name).
In the query result, I am getting error " Query element does not exist in database".
    Thanks in advance.
    Mridul

    hi ,
Probably you should go for Cell definitions. But if you use Cell definitions, then query will slow down. But if you need the way which you described, it can be acheived by cell definitions.
    Hope it helps.......

  • Restricted key figure

    HI,
can any body explain me what is the difference between Restricted key Figure and the filter option in BEX reporting.

    Hi Ali,
If you want restrict particuler key figure based on characteristic value, that you have to go for restricted key figure.
For example: You have calender year month data from 2005 to 2006.An dyou have also have sales data for the period.
If you want see the say some feb 2005 to may 2006.
than you can use restricted key figure to see the values.
where as Filter will show the values which you have filtered irrespective of key figure (only characteristic value).
just go throw the below description.
    Hi,
    Restricted key figure:
    Use
You can restrict the key figures of an InfoProvider for reuse by selecting one or more characteristics. The key figures that are restricted by one or more characteristic selections can be basic key figures, calculated key figures, or key figures that are already restricted.
    Procedure
Defining a new restricted key figure
    1. In the InfoProvider screen area, select the Key Figures entry and choose New Restricted Key Figure from the context menu (secondary mouse button).
If a restricted key figure has already been defined for this InfoProvider, you can also select the Restricted Key Figures entry and then choose New Restricted Key Figure from the context menu.
The entry New Restricted Key Figure is inserted and the properties for the restricted key figure are displayed in the Properties screen area.
    2. Select the New Restricted Key Figure entry and choose Edit from the context menu (secondary mouse button.
The Change Restricted Key Figure dialog box appears.
You can also call the Change Restricted Key Figure dialog box from the Properties screen area by choosing the Edit pushbutton.
    Calculated key figure:
    Use
In the Query Designer, you use formulas to recalculate the key figures in an InfoProvider so that you can reuse them. Calculated key figures consist of formula definitions containing basic key figures, restricted key figures or precalculated key figures.
    Procedure
Defining a New Calculated Key Figure
    1. In the InfoProvider screen area, select the Key Figures entry and from the context menu (secondary mouse button click), choose New Calculated Key Figure.
If a calculated key figure has already been defined for this InfoProvider, you can select the Calculated Key Figures entry and, from the context menu, choose New Calculated Key Figure.
The system adds the New Calculated Key Figure entry. The properties for the calculated key figure are displayed in the Properties screen area.
    2. Select the New Calculated Key Figure entry and, from the context menu (secondary mouse button), choose Edit.
The Calculated Key Figure dialog box appears.
You can also call the Change Calculated Key Figure dialog box from the Properties screen area by choosing the Edit pushbutton.
    Formula:
    Use
You can recalculate the key figures in a structure using a formula. You can include basic key figures, restricted key figures, and calculated key figures in the formula definition.
    Procedure
    Defining a Formula
    1. If the query does not yet have a key figure structure, create a New Structure in the Rows or Columns of the Query Designer by highlighting the row or column directory using the secondary mouse button and selecting New Structure from the context menu.
    2. If the structure does not yet contain any key figures, use drag and drop to transfer a (basic) key figure of the InfoProvider into the directory of the new structure.
    3. Select the structure directory, and choose New Formula. The New Formula entry is inserted and the properties for the formula are displayed in the Properties screen area.
    4. Select the New Formula entry and, from the context menu (secondary mouse button), choose Edit. The Change Formula dialog box appears.
You can also call the Change Formula dialog box from the Properties screen area by choosing the Edit pushbutton.

  • Problem with Restricted Key Figures Please Solve

    Dear All.
i restrict the key figure on some GL's for Cumulative balance, this RKF show me the result base on the 0CALMONTH which is select in the variable screen.
i created one more RKF with the same GL's but i restrict that RKF also with fix 0Calmonth say DEC2008.
but the problem is when i run the report it shows me that data correct, but when i bring the 0CALMONTH on top of the Key Figure structure it only show me the data for selected month for the fix month RKF the result come empty.
my requirement is that i have to select month range and i need to show every month value minus the Dec2008 value, this only works if i donot bring the 0CALMONTH on top of Key figure structure but i want to keep it on the top of KF structure so i can show each month value - dec2008 value.
Please explain how can i control this.
    Kind regards,

Edited by: Zeeshan haider on Nov 11, 2009 9:59 AM

    Dear Chandu.
I am creating the RKF on Cummulative Balance KF by restricting it with some combinations of GL's, let say the name of RKF is TRADE_Accounts.
My requirement is to give Calmonth selection from the variable in interval let say from 01.2009 - 05.2009
i simply want to display TRADE_Account balance for each month in selection but by doing the minus the value of Trade_Account from the same RKF i.e. TRADE_Account_2 which i restrict on DEC2008.
so i created Two RKF for KF cummulative balance one is restricted with 0CALMONTH value for DEC2008 only.
    then i create on CKF let TRADE_BALANCE = TRADE_Account2008 - TRADE_Account.
and place the CKF in Key Figure Structure, it work fine but problem comes when i try to bring 0CALMonth on top of key figure structure so i can show the result for each selected month.
when i do this it only shows the Balance for selected months but it did not minus it with the other RKF i.e. TRADE_Account2008.
when for testing i also put the TRADE_Account2008 in Key figure structure it shows empty result when the 0CALMONTH is on top of the Key figure structure.
Please explain how can i achieve this.
    Kind regards,

  • Removing Key Figures during Execution

Hi, is there any way to remove any type of Key Figure, from the Key Figure structure during execution time?  If so, how about adding them into the Key Figure structure as well?
Ex.  I have Calculated KF A, and B.  I want to have a button on a Web Template that removes KF B from the entire KF structure.  When it does this action, the only Key Figure shown is KF A.
Any suggestions?  Is there even a function/method in a class to do that?  Even a hide function would work for me.
    Thanks.

  • Exception defined on a formula does not chande display for key figure

    All,
I have an exception defined on a formula included in the key figure structure based on which the display for another key figure should change.  The display is changing for the formula and not for the key figure as i would like for it to do.
The setting of the exception is set to display on "following structure elements" and points to the key figure and is defined on the formula.
This behavior is exhibited correctly when run through BI 7.0 Query designer portal however when executed using Analyzer both 3.5 and 7.0 version i am encountering this issue.
    Any help is appreciated.

I believe you are using 3.x.
Please mention the version of BW in the problem statement.
If you dont want to use exception aggregation in the query the second option is setting this property in the backend for the keyfigure. But I believe that you are trying to set this for the CKF, so I dont see any other option to generate exception aggregation.
I would like to comment on your reasons why you dont wnat to usee the exception aggregation.
    1. It is not working: If it not working, you should contact SAP for this. Exception aggregation is 20% heart of any query and it is very rarely used things in reporting.
    2. It is obsolete: I am not sure, if this is correct. There are many industries where you cannot built certain reports without exception aggregation. The simplest report of sales where you are asked to find the rate of the material from Total Sale and Quantity at aggregation level can not be created without exception aggregation. So this option is and will never obsolete.
    Please try using before aggregation.

  • Adding new key figure in Info structure

    Hi all,
I am in a need to add a new key figure to our info structure here in my company.
The way I understand it is, it would be best to create a NEW info structure and copy all existing key figure and characteristic and then insert my new key figure into this and rewrite the macro if required.
    So my question is
    1. How to determine which info structure is currently in use in my company? If i check in MC89 - the key figures match what is in Info structure S076. So is it safe to assume that we are using standard S&OP in my company? Is that a correct way to identify the currently used info structure?
    2. For our KMAT, when i open a planned order I see that there in another info structure (not S076) under configuration tab. So can we have diff info structure in use at a same time ?
    Please guide.
    Thanks,

    Hi Nisha,
    1. First of all, How would I determine which info structure is being used at this time in my company?
I need to know this so that when I am creating my own custom (S500 - S999) info structure, i can copy the existing KFs and Characteristics and add them to my info structure and then Add a specific key figure on top of that.
Info structures are nothing but tables so in se16 you can check which are Info structures are having update values.
Yes you can add the specific key figure on existing self defined info structure in MC22 after that you need to generate it.
    2. Can multiple info structure be in 'use' at the same time in any scenario?
For self defined info structure are application specific you can not have multiple info structure for same scenario. If you take the example of flexible planning with self defined info structure then you can transfer the demand from only one info structure.

  • How to add sales margin umsmao as key figure in xxl_data structure in mcge?

    Hi,
While downloading list in mcge to xxl, I am not able to download sales margin UMSMAO.
It's saying "Selected key figure UMSMAO not contained in XXL
    output structure".
    How do I do this?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Joseph;
Yes, you can add a KF as one attribute of master data.
The other solution that I see is you create a DSO as a target of 2LIS_03_BF and then a transformation with company code. Direct link between DS and IO is not advise because one is delta and the other is full (you could have some problems).
But if it's my choice... enhance the 0COMP_CODE_ATTR.

  • How to find key figures not created in a Structure.

After using Where Used on a selection variable Z_FISCPER3_M_SV a list of Key Figures appear. I wish to amended these Key Figures as the selection variable used is incorrect. However, I cannot find these Key Figures in the Structure?  Does anyone know how to find Key Figures not created in a Structure.

Thanks for such a quick response.
I am assuming the following about the table :
    -     Column u201CCALDAYu201D contains a date value for each day the Index is active.
    -     Column u201CBIA_USEDu201D contains a value that is iterated for the given day each time the Index is used.
    -     Column u201CBIA_NOTPOSSIBLEu201D contains a value representing how many times a query could not access this Index.
    -     Column u201CNO_BIAu201D tells if a BWA Index exists at all on any of my BWA Blades
    -     Column u201CBIA_TECHINAu201D ????????
    -     Column u201CBIA_INAu201D ???????
    -     Column u201CDB_FALLBACKu201D ???????
