Keychain not remembering my password?
Every time I go on the net using my macbook using airport with my airport express it sends me to network diagnostics where I have to choose my network and enter my password. Every time I do this I check "add password to Keychain".
Shouldn't my password be remembered? I have to go thru this process every time I want to connect.
I guess it's something to do with the way I set up the airport express in the first place ... the instructions are pretty vague. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance...
Try configuring the MacBook in the Network pane of System Preferences under the Aiport tab. That should store the settings in the system keychain. I'd think what you've done should do the same, but it seems worth trying another route.

Just migrated to new Macbook Pro. Apple Mail account is set up but it will not remember the password. I have another account set up in Mail which is working fine.
RuzzerAfter much frustration and googling, I ended up finding my own solution.
My situation came when I replaced my MAIL folder with another mail folder from another account.
At first the mail account acted normally, but the next day after starting the mac my mail kept asking for account passwords on ALL of my mail accounts (a mix of IMAP and POP3).
Here are the fixes I tried but didnt work
KeyChain Access = First Aid repair (did nothing and found no errors)
Deleted my Mail plist file (again nothing changed)
Triple checked my email account passwords (no change)
The one thing that I noticed was that most people where told to delete the Mail keychain password entry in keychain. The thing is with my keychain there was NO MAIL KEYCHAIN. I think this is the big problem.
To remedy this I tried the KeyChain Access FIRST AID REPAIR again, but this time I had a look at the Key chain log and found there was over 26,000 entried. I figured they where only log files and just deleted all file. Restarted the mac and turned on mail, it will ask for password but this time it remembers the password!!!
Here is a step by step for you all:
WARNING: this will nuke all your stored keychains, be prepared to re enter any passwords or user names you may have stored.
1. Open Keychain Access (Use spotlight and search "Keychain")
2. Go to Keychain prefs (Command + ,)
3. In the GENERAL tab press the "Rest My Default Keychains" button
4. Enter your password (Press OK)
5. There will be an option to view log files, press this button
6. Select all files and delete them.
7. Restart your mac.
8. Open mail, it will ask for your mail account password
9. enjoy the stress of email again!
I thought someone else my find this useful and save them some headaches. -

when you start using iCloud on any iOS device and enable find my iPhone, this prevents a new user from using it, and also prevents anyone from using the phone
as it is locked to previous owners account ,this is also the case if when a phone is lost or stolen.
the only way around this is to have the previous owner reset their apple id by going to @ applied.apple.com
if they are unable to do this, then the only other way around this is to have the previous owner get a copy of their original receipt and call apple support who can then lift this lock if they get a copy of the receipt

My dad has dementia - does not remember his password. His hard drive has been erased. We need to reload Mountain Lion and can't figure out how to do it. Internet recovery asks for his Apple ID and password. He has no idea. I have an Apple ID but have never bought anything through the iTunes store so it won't accept my Apple ID. I tried reinstalling Leopard -- the computer originally came with Leopard -- but the computer screen goes grey and a message comes up saying I need to restart. You will need to reformat the hard drive to go back to Snow Leopard or Leopard.
Does he have a Snow Leopard Disk? He should, as there is no way to go from Leopard to Mountain Lion without it. If you can find the Snow Leopard Disk, I'd at least start with that.
You will need to use Disk Utility in the installer to format the hard drive and get rid of the recovery partition.
Boot from the installer disk by holding down the C key on restart. When it boots, Open Disk Utility (Utilities menu, at least in Snow Leopard).
Select the Hard drive and then click the Partition tab.
Select 1 Partition from the partition menu.
Select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format.
Name the drive (Macintosh HD is the standard).
Click Apply to partition the drive.
When it is done, quit Disk Utility and install the OS. -

If the iPad has Activation Lock - that is, it's asking for the previous owner's Apple ID and password to activate the device or to turn off Find My iPhone - then you will need that information. There's no way around it If your father can't remember the password, he'll need to recover it.

Ever since I upgraded to IOS 7 on my iPad2, it does not remember my passwords, even though I check "keep me signed on". Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing? I did not have this issue with the previous OS. Thank you.
Thank you, James, but I do have a WiFi connection on the iPad mini. The Numbers files update on my iPad third generation and iPhone just fine when connected to the same network.

Then you'll NEVER be able to re-activate the phone. This is called Activation Lock & there is no way around it if you don't know that info.
