Keytouch doesn't map keys properly

Hello,
I've a Logitech Desktop Wave Keyboard (Cordless) and I tried configuring the special keys via keytouch, but it doesn't seem to work. I always get this error:

I made a config file for my keyboard via keytouch-editor. I had to change the scan codes manually to 6 digits instead of the 3 the editor spits out. Here it is:

The only key that is working is the "Stop" button, but it doesn't work properly since it decreases the volume.
I know I am not the only one with this problem, it appeared here and here.
If you look carefully, you would see that the scancodes that appear in the error message aren't the scancodes entered in the config file!
Thanks in advance, Ido.

Hi, Christie. If you're planning to fling your Powerbook out the window, please be sure to open the window first, and give me time to get out there in the yard to catch it before it lands.
What you need is DiskWarrior (the best option) or TechTool Pro, which should resolve the "keys out of order" problem in your hard disk directory in just a few minutes. That problem may have been caused when you forced the machine to shut down after it began to whine, or it may have been present beforehand. Directory corruption of that kind is most often caused by abnormal operations like forced shutdowns and freezes, but it can also cause them later on if it isn't corrected. A failing hard drive can also cause its own directory to be corrupted, and bad RAM and other hardware faults are also possible causes of directory damage. But much more often the culprit is just a one-time glitch in software that can be remedied using DiskWarrior or TTPro and won't soon recur (as it's likely to do very soon if there's an underlying hardware cause).
If you have a complete, recent backup of your hard drive, another option to consider is erasing the drive completely and restoring everything to it from your backup. That too will write a new, undamaged directory to the disk, but it's more tedious than using DiskWarrior or TTPro. Of course it's also free.

  • Cannot properly edit Map Keys

In RoboHelp 7 for HTML (but also v6), weI have problems with
editing map keys for context-sensitive help.
When we were using RoboHelp 6 for Word, editing map keys was
    easy.
When we switched to RoboHelp for HTML (first v6 then v7), we
could never figure out how to do this. We fully understand how map
keys work, and we are computer-savvy. However, perhaps we are
    experiencing some kind of bug.
For example, if we generate a new topic, we disabled
automatic map key generation. Instead, we want to add our own map
key number to this new topic. We select Topic Properties >
Advanced > Edit Map Key to get to the map key editor. No matter
what we try, we cannot add a new map key to the new topic.
Similarly, changing the number of a map key is not possible.
Basically, the task buttons at the bottom of the Edit Map Key
    screen are always disabled.
We are currently editing the map key files directly, but that
is not a solution of course.
We read the Help documentation very carefully, but we simply
cannot use these disabled task buttons, so that we are
    stuck.

It is really a terrible dialog, but this is what works for
    us:
    1. Make sure you have the <Project Map File> selected
    in the drop-down list.
    2. In the right-hand list, click on the Topic you want to
    assign an ID to.
    3. Under the Map IDs list there is a "Hide used IDs"
checkbox, and then three buttons. The first button's icon does not
make ANY sense to me whatsoever, but it means "add map ID."
    4. Click that cryptic-looking button. The Create/Edit Map ID
    dialog opens.
    5. Enter a name for the Topic ID (can be anything, just don't
use any spaces) and the Map Number you want to assign, and click
OK. The ID is assigned to the topic you selected earlier.
To edit the assigned Map ID number or name, double-click on
an ID in the Map IDs list. I don't know if you can actually change
the assignment of one of these IDs -- the "Unassign" button always
appears grayed out for me -- but you can delete a selected Map ID
by selecting it and clicking the "X" button.
    Hope this helps!

  • IMac keyboard doesn't always work properly and Magic Mouse battery drain

Owned my iMac for a few months now. First off, my batterys only lasted 23 days, not 3 months like stated by Apple. I've use both Duracell and Energizer and both last less than a month. Secondly, my wireless keyboard doesn't always function properly. When I'm trying to type something out, I always end up having to go back and add something that the keyboard has missed..
For example, I just tested my Cap Locks key. I pressed it 10 times normally as you would when typing and the green LED only lit for 3 of the 10.
But when I press hard it works everytime
Is this a common problem or have I been sent out a defective pack?
    Thanks

It's a long shot, but is a non-standard input selected here:
     > System Preferences > Language & Text
Try selecting 'British' and see if the problem persists. Also, if you click on the little nationality flag in the menubar at the top of the screen and choose 'Show Keyboard Viewer', what happens when you press the '3' key? Does it light up as expected?

My iphone dosen't doesn't make key tone sounds anymore when I write a text message or when I want to dial a phone number I don't know how to fix this problem, I don't hear the clicking noise anymore does anyone know how to fix this problem? And all the sounds on my phone are on, even the keyboard clicks.

Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, double check the volume button just in case.  If you still can't hear the tones go into your settings>sounds and make sure the options are on.

  • Problem using different Map key types in one class

I'm running Kodo 2.3.3. It seems I can only have one Map key types for all

  • Implement Maps keyed by a Persistent Class

    Hi,
You would probably agree that JDO Maps keyed by a primitive/primitive
wrapper are not nearly as usefull as the ones mapped by a PC.
I wonder if it is in your plans to provide this functionality? Kodo 2.4? or
    2.5
If I am not mistaken somebody (may be me) already entered this enhancement
request into your bugzilla as a part of overall collection handling
improvements but I am going to create a new request just in case and put
some of my votes onto it :-)
If you want me to come up with use cases to explain why I think this feature
is very much needed I can certainly do so.
Anyway if any other folks around here are interested in this feature please
    wote for it http://bugzilla.solarmetric.com:8080/showvotes.cgi?voteon=437

This is on our project plan, but will not be in 2.4.

  • MacBook Pro display doesn't close down properly.

We have one MacBook Pro that doesn't close down properly. The display just bounces up. Is there any way to fix this or is this something that needs to be fixed by a technician?

Try blowing out the slots where the two "prongs" come up, and the release button slot (push it in and out a bit while doing this) with compressed air. (use your lungs if you don't have a can of air).
Often a bit of crumb or other gunk will impede the mechanism enough to prevent the magnets from being able to do their job properly.

    hi,
i have ovm 2.2 setup consist of 4 servers in cluster.
whenever any of the servers get rebooted. The guest vm gets restarted on the next available resource server.
And now in the OVM-Manager side i see all the guest tht got restarted on the next available resource server shows the status as "UNKNOWN"
    OVM-Manager doesn't gets updated properly.
currently in all my vm servers i have ovs-agent version "ovs-agent-2.3-27"
    please suggest....

    hi Avi,
    thks for your reply..
    i had upgraded ovs-agent form 2.3-27 to 2.3-31.
i noticted one thing which commom for both ovs-agent version
VIP doesn’t works properly using any of the ovs-agent version (2.3-27 nor 2.3-31)
Whenever VIP is enabled it leads to two major problems.
1)Disturbs the Server Pool HA. It works initially and then start showing unusual behavior .
    2)OVM-Manager doesn’t gets updated.
Hence the whole setup is disturbed.
But when only Server Pool HA is enabled & NOT VIP everything works properly .i.e. HA across the Pool & even ovm-manager gets updated time to time.
Seems there is still some bug in the ovs-agent 2.3-31 also especially for VIP.

    Backup your iCal data.
If you can, open iCal and go to the File menu and choose Back up Database... to save a copy of your calendar data to your Desktop, just in case something goes wrong.
(You should be doing this regularly anyway
    1.
Is the problem with the Application or your user's data?
Make a new user account on your computer, and log in as that user. Open iCal as the new user. If you are still having the same problems it is likely that the problem is with the application and you should re-install it, if not the problem is with the data and you should move on to step 2.
To re-install iCal you will need your Tiger installer disk. On the installer disk go to System> Installation> Packages> (you'll need to scroll down to see the System folder). In here there is iCal.pkg, double click this to install iCal.
If this fixes your problem there is no need to do the following.
    2.
    Refresh your preference files.
There are some preference files related to iCal in your user's Library > Preferences. These are called:
    com.apple.iCal.alarmsCache.plist
    com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist
    com.apple.iCal.helper.plist
    com.apple.iCal.plist
Quit iCal and move these files to your desktop. When you start iCal they will be re-created in the Preferences folder with the default values as needed. This does not affect your calendar data, just preference choices.
You should go into iCal preferences and make any changes you want to your preferences after doing this.
If this solves your problem delete the copies on your Desktop, there is no need to do the following.
    3.
a: If iCal launches and you can see the calendar list:
    Check the calendars in turn.
In iCal uncheck all the calendars in the list. You can do this by Command-Clicking one calendar's check box.
Then do the following with each calendar in turn: Check the calendar's check box and see if your problems still exist. If iCal seems to be ok, then uncheck the check box and select the next calendar. If the symptoms still exist then this calendar is probably corrupted.
If you find a corrupted calendar in iCal, select it in the calendar list and from the File menu choose Export.. and export a copy of the calendar to your Desktop. Still in iCal, from the Edit menu choose Delete to remove the calendar from iCal. Then from the File menu choose Import... and select the 'Import an iCal file', find the calendar file you saved to your Desktop and import it.
    Go to step 4.
b: If iCal does not launch or you can't see the calendar list, it's a bit more involved:
Using the Finder to remove the data and replace it in turn.
Make sure iCal is not running, then go to your user's Library > Application Support > iCal> Sources folder, and copy this entire folder to your Desktop.
Go back to your user Library > Application Support> iCal> Sources. In this folder there will be one folder for each of your iCal calendars. These have long alpha-numeric names. Open these folders in turn and delete the file corestorage.ics in each one.
Open iCal. It should launch now, but there will be no events/todos and each calendar will have an exclamation mark by it.
Close iCal and repeat the following for each folder in iCal's Sources folder: (I found this easiest to do if you open both Sources folders next to each other in Finder's List View) From the copy you made to the Desktop, move the corestorage.ics file back into the correct folder in your Library> Application Support> iCal> Sources, and open iCal. If iCal is launching and functioning ok then the data in this calendar is good and you can move on to the next calendar.
If the symptoms you originally had have returned, then this calendar is corrupted.
With the corrupted calendar, move the relevant corestorage.ics file back to the correct sub-folder on your Desktop> Sources folder. In this folder will be a file called Info.plist. Open this file in a text editor, and look for the line that contains <key>Title</key>. The following line contains the title of the affected calendar between string tags (e.g. <string>Home</string>). Open iCal and with the calendar of this name, click the red exclamation mark and choose 'Reset' from the resulting dialog. Quit and re-open iCal. In iCal, make sure the same calendar is selected in the calendar list and drag the corestorage.ics file onto iCal's main window. (I got warning dialogs about unsafe alarms - I went with keeping the alarms.) This should clean up your calendar's data.
    4.
    Reset sync history.
If you have sync-ed your calendar data (either with .Mac iSync or third party apps.) there may be a corruption in the data stored by Sync Services which will be passed back into iCal when it syncs next.
Open iSync and from it's preferences select 'Reset Sync History' and in the confirmation dialog choose 'Reset Sync History' again.
I hope this will be of help to anyone having these types of problems. This (obviously) is not intended to be complete solution for every problem you'll come accross in iCal.
Please, feel free to post and correct my errors.
    Thanks

    Hi Nancy,
    > When I go into LIbrary>Application Support> there is now no ical.
Hmm, looks like you are having some problems there. (You are looking in the Library in your Home folder aren't you?) Were able to make a backup .icbu file as I suggested in point 0 above? If so you might want to open iCal and select File> Revert to Database Backup... and revert to the data you had before doing this, and start over again.
Otherwise, do a Spotlight search for 'iCal' and look at all the folders returned titled iCal. The most likely explanation is that you have inadvertently moved the iCal folder from your user's Library> Application Support to somewhere else on your harddrive. If this is so move it back.
Where exactly were you in the process? You say step 4, that is about re-setting iSync.
You say you moved the 'corestorage.ics' file to the Trash (and then emptied the Trash). Are there still corestorage.ics files in every folder in Sources on your Desktop?
    > I still have the sources file on my desktop.
Keep it there. You might want to re-name it 'Sources Old'.
    > when I click on the desktop sources folder and try and go into plist it is coming up as an itunes doc and attemptint to open with itunes
You seem to have plists associated with iTunes for some reason. To see the file's contents Control-Click one of the plist files and choose 'Open with' from the contexual menu and open it with TextEdit.
Please let me know how you get on.
    Best wishes

  • Mapping keys on Microsoft Keyboard

I have a Microsoft keyboard plugged into my MacBook Pro. Functionally it works fine. But since the keys are mapped in a different way, I constantly screw up the key presses when it's plugged in on my desk, or same thing when I don't have it plugged in and I'm on the road.
I've used DoubleCommand to remap keys before, but it remaps any all all keyboards, and doesn't differentiate between the MBP keyboard and an external keyboards.
Is there a tool or a method that I can not do anything to the MBP, but remap an external Microsoft keyboard?
    Thanks!

    Anyone? I'm dying over here!
