Kick off a business process with JMS message

I'm a newbie with a job that's way over my head and I'm thouroughly confused on
the logic involved with kicking off a business process (workflow) through the
reciept of a JMS message. The docs say it can be done. I have a business process
in one project folder of an enterprise app, its start node is a channel subscription.
Can I somehow send a JMS message directly to the business process? (Send a message
NOT from within the weblogic environment, but from outside) I have created a
Message Driven bean in a seperate project folder of the same application as the
business process. From an outside client, I think I might need to invoke the
MDB with a JMS message, then call the business process from there. Is this totally
off-base? What do event generators have to do with any of this?
Please help.

Yes, you use the event generator.
Open up the Weblogic Integration console, click on Event Generators.
Add a JMS Event generator that listens to the queue you are interested
in, and then select the channel that your process has subscribed to.

    This forum will move to the New SCN as part of our migration to a new platform. Once we make that move, on December 5, it will become a read-only discussion. It will be searchable but will not be part of the site navigation.  If you have questions, please contact me, [Gali Kling Schneider |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/bc?u=6v4sgatytpg%3d].

    Dear Dr. Word,
    I am a graduate student of MIS at Northern Illinois University. I took Dr. Yipeng Liu’s course of Advanced Topic of Information Systems using your textbook - Integrated Business Process With ERP Systems. Your textbook is great. I have a question to discuss with you.
    On page 62 of your textbook, I don’t think the accounting process of purchasing supplies is correct. In the example, “GBI purchases office supplies for $500 with a check. Office supplies are expensed; that is, they are defined as money spent rather than treated as an asset upon purchase, even if some of the supplies remain unused. In this case, the relevant accounts are bank and supplies expense.”
    Actually, supplies unused are assets of companies. Otherwise we don’t need an account called supplies at all. In the given example, I think we should credit $500 to bank account and debit $500 to supplies account. If at the end of the fiscal year, we used only $300 supplies, then we credit $300 to supplies account and debit $300 to supplies expense account. This is the typical process of supplies accounting.
    “Office supplies are expensed; that is, they are defined as money spent rather than treated as an asset upon purchase, even if some of the supplies remain unused. “ This practice actually goes against the Matching Principle of General Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP). It’s not a good example especially in textbook, even though lots of companies are doing real business like this.
    I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts of my comments on supplies accounting of your textbook.
    Best regards,
    Tingkai (Tank)

  • I keep getting kicked off of my wifi with my MacBook Pro but not with my IPAD?

    I keep getting kicked off of my wifi with my MacBook Pro but not with my IPAD, what do I do?

    Hi, mmayers.
    Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing.  However, the issue could be a little more complex.  Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology.  Below, I have included two articles.  The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting.  The second article covers the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.

  • Implementing a business process with Oracle software

    Hello Oracle community,
    I'm new to Oracle software and would like to know which tools from Oracle I need when I want to implement a WSDL based business process. All ressources I would like to access within the scope of the process are described with WSDL and I would like to model the whole process with Oracle software.
    I guess that I'll need at least the JDeveloper Suite so the post is hopefully not completely off-topic in this forum.
    In particular the questions are:
    - Which Oracle Tool can model a business process (and can handle WSDL)
    - Which Oracle Tool can implement the technical aspect of a business process (might be the same tool)
    - Which Oracle Tool (Oracle 9iAS I guess) will I need to deploy & run the finished business process
    - And the last question: does Oracle support BPEL?
    I need this informationen for my studies at my university. I hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

    Unfortunately the recently announced BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) Designer is available as an IBM Eclipse Plugin, so yes you need to be running the Eclipse IDE to be able to use the BPEL on top of Oracle Application Server (OC4J).
    A Jdeveloper plugin for BPEL I guess would be available sometime next year ?

  • HELP with JMS message bridge to MSMQ

              Can anyone offer suggestions on how to obtain/build a JMS messaging bridge to MSMQ.
              I see that WL has a Messaging Bridge but only for certain foreign messaging systems.
              FioranoMQ have a JMS Implementation with a bridge to MSMQ but a complete JMS implementation
              seems overkill and is costly.
              We already have Weblogic's JMS implementation & just want messages to appear on
              a JMS Queue when they are put in a MSMQ queue. A message driven bean will then
              trigger from the JMS queue.

    It is rare to hear of MSMQ when it comes to messaging.
              (I guess MSMQ users typically stay in MS world?)
              I suggest building a minimal subset JMS wrapper. Customers
              have had success with this approach with other queuing products.
              If you can implement asynchronous (onMessage) then the same
              wrapper can be used to plug into MDBs as well as into the bridge.
              You might find that there already is open source
              for these wrappers, search the web.
              Take note that interop is what web-services is supposed
              to be all about. You might want to investigate writing
              an MSMQ app that in turn invokes a WebLogic web-service
              that finally enqueues to a WL queue.
              Another possibility is to write an MSMQ app that invokes
              WebLogic's JMS C client to put messages into a JMS
              queue. The JMS C client is due out
              shortly, perhaps this week, perhaps within the next
              few weeks. It will be posted to dev2dev and work
              with 7.0.

  • PostGres 9.3.4 kicks off a 4688 Process Start in Security Log every 30 seconds - why?

    I'm using windows OS with elevated Security.  I'm using PostGres 9.3.4.  My Security Log is being spammed with 4688 messages from postgres.exe every 30 seconds.  Is this normal?  Is there some kind of polling or something that Postgres
    is doing?

    This is a SQL Server forum.  I suggest you post your question in a PostGres forum.

  • The servers gets too slow with JMS Messages

    Hi all,
          Look, Im usin JMS services, with MDB, and work good. Also i kepp a Queue to wronly messages (basiclly for comunications between R3 and Portal). Thats messages have seted a "Time to Live" equals to one day, so, they dissapair when this time are completed. But for some reasson, my server gets too slow and show exeptions of Time Out. Maybe the messages are not "killed" really, and consume memory from the server or some like that.
          The think are, that im deleting manually the Queue from the Visual Administration, later than this, the process back to keep the execution time and gets faster.
          If some know some or had this same trouble, please help me...
    Thanks in advance,
    Jorge.

    I see. Thanks for your advice
    I always had this setting on my previous devices (Sony Xperia X10 pro, Samsung Galaxy Slll) and thought it wouldn't do anything. It just got slow when it actually was updating.
    Now I turned that setting off, the wifi worked quite long again (10min) but then it was gone. Unfortunately.

  • Workflow and processing with event messages

    Are there any examples available on using the event message datatype.
    We are using Interconnect and Workflow 2.6. Interconnect passes data to workflow in the form of the event message. Are there any examples/samples available on how to extract individual data elements from the message, and being able to re-set the values.

    You might want to have a look at the Event System Demonstration process. A description is here:

  • Introduce delay in processing a JMS  message

    Hi All
    Looking for clean solution to introduce a fixed time delay (n minutes) in processing messages from a MQ Queue?
    The sending and receiving applications both using SOA Suite 11g JMS adapter.
    regards.

    Hi
    Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Such "time to deliver" (i.e. delay before the message is delivered to destination) is supported by almost all other providers - Weblogic, AQ, JBoss, ActiveMQ etc, but I could not find how to set it for Websphere MQ, doubtful if it supports same. Any idea?
    Also no clear documentation on if Oracle JMS Adapter supports dynamic message selector.
    regards

    You did not give a lot of information in order to know which Sun Cluster version you are using and if you are using Oracle RAC together with CVM.
    To me it looks you have enabled CVM (VxVM with the cluster feature enabled) in order to use a shared diskgroup.
    This is only allowd in combination with Oracle RAC. If this is what you are trying to use, have a look at http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2981/6n58037s2?a=view.
    So those messages are CVM specific, and I guess they show the selection process of which node is going to be the master node for the shared diskgroup - in your case node2.

  • WebLogic 9 and Antlr problem with JMS Messages

    Hi all,
    I'm facing a problem and your help would be very appreciated.
    We've got an EAR application deployed on a WebLogic 9.x. As we use Hibernate3, when we put it into WebLogic 10, we needed to add "antlr" library to our "weblogic-application.xml" as "prefer-application-packages" (This is because of the well-known error of ClassNotFoundException of the HqlToken class).
    The version of Antlr we have is 2.7.7, and works perfectly in WebLogic 10.
    Now, we want to have an EAR that can be installed in both WebLogic 9.x and 10. But we're getting a fatal exception when we want to create a JMS consumer with a JMS selector in WebLogic 9.x(this is for listening only for the message we need in the queue).
    So, in WebLogic 10 it works with "antlr" in the prefer-application-packages, but in WebLogic 9.x doesn't. And if we don't put it there, it works in WL 9 but not in WL 10.
    The best would be to have the library in the weblogic-application.xml so WebLogic put our library first in the classpath. But in WL 9 we've got this exception:

    Check that "invocationId" is a JMS String Property that we're adding in the messages. Our same source code works perfect in WL 9 without "antlr" as an prefered application package. You know that in WL 9, the antlr library was bundled into the weblogic.jar, so WL has it in his System classpath.
    Someone has an idea how we can solve this? The final solution may be having 2 EARs (one for WL 9 and one for WL 10, with the only change of the weblogic-application.xml), but it's not a nice solution.
    Thank you a lot in advance.

  • Issues with JMS messaging between two Glassfish Domains

    All -
    I have a stand alone client and two Glassfish Domains - each of which has a message bean on it. I have successfully sent messages from the client to each message bean, however, I then want the message beans to be able to send messages back and forth from one another. This is where I run into a problem. For some reason, I am getting errors when trying to send a message from one message bean on Domain1 to another message bean on Domain2. Is this possible to do? Can someone help out with the exception that I am getting below?

    I don't have any ground-breaking news for you, just wanted to say that you're correct - you sure can send messages from one server instance to another.
    I've never worked with GlassFish, but JMS is JMS and exchanging messages in the way you described should work just fine.
    Let me just make sure about the obvious:
    Example: instance A, port 1099, queue qA; instance B, port 2000, queue qB
    To send message from A to B you create InitialContext for server B (port 2000), lookup queue qB and put a message on it.
    To send message from B to A you create InitialContext for server A (port 1099), lookup queue qA and put a message on it.
    I'm sure you're doing this, though.
    You can use this code to print the content of JNDI tree:
         public void printList(NamingEnumeration<NameClassPair> list) {
              NameClassPair entry;
              System.out.println("JNDI tree:");
              while (list.hasMoreElements()) {
                   entry = list.nextElement();
                   System.out.println("name=", entry.getName(), ", class=", entry
                             .getClassName());
    You call it like this: printList(initiaiContext.lookup("/"));
    You can replace "/" with the path you want to list. In your case "/jms" could be more useful.
    With this method you can see if all your objects (connection factories, queues, whatnot) are bound where they should be.
    If all is there things should work - just keep digging.

  • Weblogic spiking to 99% CPU resources while processing inbound JMS messages

    We have an Integration Gateway server that is receiving data into a JMS queue from SAP/TIBCO and a legacy system for processing. We have Weblogic 8.1 SP3 and the server is running ClarifyCRM 12.5 Integration Gateway components including Tuxedo. In the past few weeks, Weblogic has been hanging up multiple times trying to receive this data from these systems. Specifically java.exe process used by Weblogic spikes to 99% CPU and the server becomes completely unresponsive. So far the only workaround we have is shutting down Weblogic, moving the incoming messages stored in the JM file store that are hanging the server to a different location so that they won't be processed by Weblogic and then restart Weblogic.
              What we see when this happens is that the hung up messages stay in the "Messages Pending" queue.
              A developer has mentioned that this may be happening because the threads handling the messages are hanging.
              I want to know if there is a tool from BEA to view and edit the JMS File Store on the file system to further analyze the incoming messages.

    I agree about the older version. However this particular version and service pack are the only ones that have been tested in our production and dev environments. So currently I don't have any options but to use it. However the system has been running relatively fine for the past 1-1.5 years.
              Do you happen to know the name of that tool that you mentioned below?
              Thanks in advance.

  • User exit - stop processing with error message displayed

    Hi guys,
    My scenario is like this
    Whil doing migo for the same batch number more than 3 times i should not allow to post the document.
    I have the material number and batch number in a seperate ztable
    for checking this found out there is an exit.
    Enhacmenet - MBCF0002
    EXIT_SAPMM07M_001
    I have written code in the above exit as
    select count(*) from ztable
        into t_charg
         where matnr eq i_mseg-matnr
        and charg eq i_mseg-charg.
    if t_charg gt 3.
      call function 'POPUP_DISPLAY_MESSAGE'
        exporting
          titel = 'Error Message'
          msgid = 'BD'
          msgty = 'E'
          msgno = '899'
          msgv1 = 'Batch Already Received 3 Times'.
    if sy-ucomm = 'OKAY'.
    elseif sy-ucomm = 'RW'.
    else.
    endif.
    endif.
    The program works fine and gives a pop up message and when i post the document
    it still gets posted.
    I should not allow to post the document
    Help me on this issue?
    Regards
    Senthil

    thanx for the reply
    Ihave created a message class z001 and maintained a message(001)
    but when i am trying to activate it says
    Field "Z001" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement . . . . . . . . . .
