Hi khiz_eng
you can associate a process by hooking it to jvm using
addShutdownHook(Thread hook) method of Runtime class
then use removeShutdownHook(Thread hook)
But this method is supported in JDK 1.3
Cheers!!

    Hi
If the process chain is running in background,
    goto <b>SM37</b>
    Give * in the jobname
Give the username who scheduled the process chain
Job status - check the check boxes - SCHED, relased, ready, active
    click <b>execute</b>.
It displays all the process chains that, scheduled & running.
You can select the process chain that need to be stopped & click STOP active job or ctrl+F1.
    Hope this helps!

I don't know, if you mean you have done your form or you have solved the problem.
It's visible your code is only partly reflecting your screenshot, and that's okay to demonstrate the problem you have given a fine example.
As you marked my suggestion as solution this may not be needed anymore, but here's how I modified your code and used a self made QuestionBox instead of messagebox.
The essential part is defining a callback method and letting the QuestionBox call back there. It's not essential I used RAISEEVENT, but it's fine as it has all the behaviour and parameters needed to call back.

  • I pressed Windows-M to minimize all screens, then Firefox 6.0.1 (Win XP VM) started to open large number ( 70 in a few seconds) of new Firefox windows (stopped only when I killed the Firefox process with Task Manager). Firefox had no focus at that time.

Windows XP 64-bits Virtual Machine, ServicePack 2, 4MB of RAM, dual processor running on a Windows 7 64-bits host machine, ServicePack 1, 8MB, 8-core processor.
I have worked with that for half a year, no particular issues.
I was working in other program in my VM (so Firefox had no focus) , then wanted to view my VM desktop, so I pressed Windows-M to minimize all windows in my VM. Exactly at that time Firefox 6.0 started to issue new empty Firefox windows, at a pace of about 4 or 5 per second. So I killed the firefox.exe process in my TaskManager to prevent my machine of running out of memory. Then I started Firefox again, without further issues so far.

I'm a Chrome user by choice. I use Firefox for two reasons only:
    1) Speedbit video downloader
    2) A second browser to handle secondary Google and Facebook sign-ins.
If I remove Speedbit, I lose 50% of my reason to use your browser at all.
Speedbit and Firefox worked together just fine before version 19.
PLEASE PROVIDE A PATCH. DON'T BLAME SPEEDBIT.
    Thank you.

  • OOM Killer is killing the Java processes without using the swap?

    Hi All,
We are using RHEL 5 64 bit on blade server CISCO UCS B230-M2.
Below is the memory details on the server. I could see from the sar -r command it did not used the swap memory at all but it calls the OOM killer everyday.
    su@ /root-> free -g
total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
    Mem:           125        119          5          0          2         81
    -/+ buffers/cache:         35         89
    Swap:          251          0        251
The issue is occuring every day and doesnt allow any user to connect to the server in that perticular time, After some time we could see the below messages in /var/log/messages and once the java processes are getting killed it allow the new telnet connections.
Any help on this is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sachin.

It looks like you experience low memory exhaustion. The kernel uses low memory to track allocations of all memory and the more memory you have, the more low memory will have to be allocated. When low memory is exhausted, it doesn't matter how much high memory is available, the oom-killer will begin killing processes to keep the server alive. There are a number of bug reports and patches available regarding this problem affecting Enterprise Linux kernels 4.4 - 4.8. Other solutions are to move to a 64-bit kernel or use 32-bit hugemem. Are you running NFS?
Perhaps you might want to try the following:
    # cat /proc/sys/vm/lower_zone_protection
You can try to increase the value and see what happens:
    # echo "250" > /proc/sys/vm/lower_zone_protection
To set this option on boot, add the following to /etc/sysctl.conf:
    vm.lower_zone_protection = 250
As a last resort effort, you can disable the oom-killer. This option can cause the server to hang, so use it at your own risk.
    Check status of oom-killer:
    # cat /proc/sys/vm/oom-kill
    Turn oom-killer off/on:
    # echo "0" > /proc/sys/vm/oom-kill
    # echo "1" > /proc/sys/vm/oom-kill

  • Monitoring the running process

    hi all!
    i am working on antispyware.
    my problem is:
how to monitor the computer running processes from the attacking of any spyware/virus
if some one has sample code, plz send me
plz guide me in this regard, so i can proceed in my work.
    best regards

    Thanks.
That makes no sense. Especially given that listener handles the connect and then no longer is involved in the communication between client and database.
I would strongly suggest you check Metalink, or even open a service request. This sounds like it could be a memory leak. Do it now, while it is still possible - 9i goes into extended support in a few weeks and bug fixes will be difficult to arrange.

I've had this before on Windows as well, and don't really know why the processes don't go away (at least not always), but if you add a finally block and do a "process.exitValue()", you may (and probably will, in this case) get an exception (so catch it), but after that the process is (usually) gone.
I know, this is nothing but a hack, half, work-around, but it at least seems to work, most of the time.
In any case, try to stay away from Runtime.exec unless absolutely necessary, and for opening a browser (as of 1.6) it is not. Use the Desktop class (see the API docs).

  • How to invoke the running process via email or watch folder?

    Hi,
I initial a process in workspace using a pdf form(xfaFrom type) variable.
It's a simple process. Just one assign task node to transfer the initial form to process creater.
The process works fine when submit in workspace. But I have some problem on offline submit.
I initialed the form on workspace and saved it to local file to edit it.
After editing the pdf form, how to let the local saved form go back to the process whith the correct data?
Here is my variable setting in process:
    form type: xfaForm
render service : render PDF form (in forms sample catagory)
submit service : Submit PDF Form (in forms sample catagory)
I've tried to use email endpoint.
It will be back to the next step of the process, but the data will not be transfer to the form.
Then I've tried to use watchFolder endpoint.
And it did not work by some exceptions.

    hi
The problem is not completely solved.
The solved part is countinue the process by Email and there is still need to be soloved by watch folder. Here are some steps.
First, I set the email endpoint on "complete task" service(in process management catagory). Then configure the input parameter of the endpoint. The attachment parameter set to *.* and the mail from set to %SENDER%.
Second, the xfa form variable of process must have process fields and use the default render. So the process field data which are required to counitnue the process will be keeped.
    Then it worked.
But when I check the "complete task" component(process management --> task notification catagory) used in "complete task" process. Some input parameters(Sender, attachment map) are required and can't be found if using watch folder. So there is still a problem by using watch folder.

  • When closing my Firefox window, all processes are not closing requiring me to open task manager and kill the process before using Firefox again. Received recent upgrade and hasn't worked right since then.

I open Firefox, use it, then close the window. Try to reopen Firefox and it fails with a message that a previous process is still running. Requires me to open Task Manager and kill the old process.

Try to wait a bit longer before reopening Firefox to give Firefox more time to close completely.<br />
Try to use "Firefox/File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.
    See "Hang at exit":

  • Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. This doesn't work because Firefox is not a running process so I can't close it.

I don't use Firefox now because of this running problem. It started about a month ago. So when I access the task manager, Firefox does not show up in the running processes. Because of this, I can't end the task. I got tired and fed up of rebooting my computer just to use Firefox, so I just switched to IE8, and Opera and Google Chrome. I prefered Firefox but it also runs so so sooooo slowly now. IE is much much faster, as are the other browsers now. Once upon a time, I bragged to everyone about how fast Firefox used to be, where now I admit I don't use it because it's so slow now and it won't run anyway.

  • Using the "Run Powershell command" in Task Sequence

    Hi,
We are having problems executing PowerShell Scripts from within a TaskSequence. We use this to perform different actions on our servers.
    * We have a GPO for Windows PowerShell that is set to "allow all scripts"
    * In Sccm, the computer agent setting is set to "bypass"
*In the deployement we specify that we want to run the content from the DP
When we run the TaskSequence, powershell is started but the script is not executed. The TS is stuck at this time and is just waiting for the script to execute... After killing the powershell process, the TS failes (of course).
How can we get this working:
-by disabling the GPO -> indeed then it works
-by downloading the content locally (we don't want that either)
Is there any other solution to this?
I've also tried this but no go:
    Quote:
Please note, that this policy will only work for scripts which are executed locally. If you want to execute ps1 scripts from a network drive it might be neccessary to add the dp server name into the trusted sites of the IE!

I also tried to run it via the command line option and call powershell.exe, same problem. Executing a scriptblock on the other hand does work. (In the scriptblock, it put get-executionpolicy and it is returning unrestricted)

    Add below to .ps1 file
    $session = New-pssession
    Import-PSSession $session
New-ItemProperty 'HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation' -Name Enable -Value  0 -PropertyType Dword"
    Schedule task
    ================
    Program to choose
    C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe
    add argument section
powershell.exe -noprofile -executionpolicy bypass -file \\server\file.ps1

  • Is it possible to stop firefox linux sometimes leaving a running process after exit?

I run Firefox 29.0-5.fc19 on a fully updated Fedora 19 OS with the KDE Plasma desktop.
When I want to listen to the BBC iplayer radio service, I open firefox and go to the site http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 and click on 'Listen Live' and a pop-out player spawns and begins playing.
If I don't want to browse anything else, I close the main firefox browser leaving the pop-out (child) firefox window playing the live BBC radio stream. But, if I then close this pop-out, I then find I cannot re-start Firefox because error message says firefox is already running.
To restart the browser, I have to use ksysguard to kill the running firefox process - usually around 120,000K in size - first.
    I this a known bug?
The only solution seems to be to run another firefox main window before closing the iplayer pop-out player, and then close the main firefox. It's an issue because I don't always remember to go through this rather arcane way of doing things.

"unfortunately this is currently a bug in the current firefox version when you have set your history to be cleared at firefox shutdown"
I'll just change my settings until the bug is fixed.
Should I mark this as solved? It answers my specific question and offers helpful advice so logically yes, even though it refers to an as yet unfixed bug.
