KIMYONG : recipients notification_preference 가  DISABLED 갑자기 Disabled되는 경우

Symptoms
========
Email server가 갑자기 몇시간씩 죽을경우 recipient notification 이 갑자가 Disabled되면서 Mail 발송이 안되는 경우가 있습니다.
FND_USER_PREFERENCES 와 WF_LOCAL_ROLES 이 갑자기 DISABLED 됩니다.
Changes
=======
Email Server outage (crash) 는 FND_USER_PREFERENCES and WF_LOCAL_ROLES tables. 에 있는 nottification_preference for recipients 을 DISABLED 로 바꿉니다.이 문제는 Bug 4104735 에 소개되고 있습니다..
When a notification fails to be rendered or delivered from the Java tier (in this case due to an email server outage) then the notification will be placed into a FAILED state. The notifications that fails to be delivered to a user then has their notification preference set to DISABLED and any subsequent notifications will be automatically be set to FAILED either at the PL/SQL level or the java level depending on where the request for a notification is received.
Solution
=========
1. Update the tables FND_USER_PREFERENCES and WF_LOCAL_ROLES manually. However, for only the WF_LOCAL_ROLES table you can do the following:
2. As System Administrator Responsibility >> Define User >> query up user with issue
/>remove the Person Field >> save
/>requery the same user >> add back the Person Field
/>save >> have user log out/in >> retest
/>This effort does an internal synchronization for the peticular user 3. At this moment there is no way from the UI for the system administrator to change the notification preference for the FND_USER_PREFERENCES table.
4. After this, the concurrent program Resend Failed Notifications can be used to resend those FAILED notifications.
5. Apply Patch 5330951 - ADDRESSEXCEPTION NOT UPDATE MAIL_STATUS, prevents the mailer from going down.
6. This is ultimately fixed in RUP4 (patch 4676589) within the Bug 5170723.

  • Disable online services/features in Acrobat Reader DC?

    With the new update being released from Reader to Acrobat Reader DC, I have concerns with the use of cloud storage and storing sensitive data.
    I have looked around and the only information I have found for disabling these new features are in reference to groups who use the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC, which means they would be running an Enterprise version.
    I have installed and tested the new Acrobat Reader DC on both Windows and OS X, there are no obvious options for disabling the services that I am referring to.
    Services I am referencing:
    Adobe cloud storage service
    Sending and tracking documents
    Syncing across multiple devices (by use of cloud storage)
    Is there a way to disable the use of these services on an individual (non Enterprise) install of Acrobat Reader DC?
    Thanks in advanced!

    You can use the Adobe Customization Wizard DC on both Reader DC (Classic or Perpetual) versions.
    Adobe Customization Wizard
    You can also use the Windows Registry to turn these services OFF.

  • Apple-ID disabled daily - clueless people cause it, but can Apple fix it?

    I have a particular problem with an Apple-ID belonging to a family member. Her Apple-ID is disabled almost daily, forcing her to unlock it using two-step verification (a trusted device and her Recovery Key). Sometimes - unclear why - unlocking isn't possible, forcing her to change the password everywhere.
    There's a particular reason for this, we suspect.
    She has an iCloud/MobileMe/.mac/iTools-address from way back. It's a really nice adress, consisting of just her given name followed by @mac/@me/@icloud. Problem is, her given name is quite common in the world. It would be totally impossible to get an address like that today, you'd have to be one of the first signing up for iTools in 2000 to get it.
    Nevertheless, quite often people with the same given name seem to think they've managed to sign up for it. So they hand it out to friends, sign up for newsletters and services, and try to login to it themselves. And as a result, Apple disables the password - presumably after a certain number of login attempts.
    I'm totally confident the broad majority of these shut-downs aren't caused by malice. I'm pretty sure the account has never been compromised. It's just people - and many different persons, in many different countries - with no clue at all, trying to login and/or resetting the password. There are many, many stray emails, iMessages and even FaceTime calls from total strangers that supports this theory. It is actually people thinking they managed to get that address and Apple-ID. You'd think it is impossible to not notice the "that Apple-ID/iCloud address is already in use, please choose another" messages but... Judging from the emails and iMessages, the majority of intended recipients speaks Spanish, so maybe its a language problem.
    This always intensifies after Christmas, as millions of iPhones and iPads get into the hands of newbies.
    We thought it would get better after enabling two-step verification; that it would make it harder to force a password reset. But after the past holidays it has accelerated to insane levels.
    An Apple-ID is today used for so many things that it is really important that it stays active. Someone causes it to be disabled = you don't get any iMessages, for instance. Or, suddenly all of your calendars are gone from people you share them with, as they can't access them either. And you usually won't notice anything's wrong until you go to iCloud.com and try to sign in.
    I guess this happens to all people with Apple-ID:s or iCloud addresses like [email protected] or [email protected]. Is there anything Apple can do to prevent this? Is there anything we can do, besides abandoning this Apple-ID?
    We have reported it to Apple using various forms, but no replies.

    JimHdk wrote:
    You don't have to abandon the Apple Account rather you can get a new, less common, email address and change the email address identifying the Apple account to it.
    See here: Change your Apple ID - Apple Support
    No, you can't. The OP's Apple ID is also the account's @mac.com address since she goes back to iTools, and while if an Apple ID has been created using a non-Apple email address it can be changed, if it's the @mac.com etc. address which is also the iCloud primary address it can't be changed. In this circumstance (which has been a problem for a number of people) that restriction is rather a nuisance and it's difficult to see a way round this.
    @Jan Rendall: I don't know what method you've been using to contact Apple, but I would regard this as a serious security issue and that's the approach you should take. This Apple Help page provides contact information for various countries for security problems with an Apple ID:
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5699
    The ideal would be for Apple to arrange for the ID to change to a non-Apple address (have one available) - this would solve the login problems though not the daft emails - I've no idea whether they are able or willing to do this, but if you don't get a good response at first ask to escalate it to a higher level and dig your heels in. What is odd about all this is that 2-step verification should have put a stop to this since without the code which has been sent to the trusted device a person trying to log in cannot proceed; you should raise that point with Apple.

  • Verizon techs have no idea, email disabled/suspended, can't be resolved, almost 48 hours

    My email account has been unavailable for nearly 48 hours and the best and brightest at Verizon have been unable to resolve the issue. I work in IT for a living and this would be unacceptable at my location.
    How is it possible that nobody (and I think I have talked to everyone in the company by now) can solve this major technical issue.
    I can access My Verizon, I can access Verizon Central but I can not access my email, and I really need to access it ASAP. Shame on me for not POPing my email to my computer via Thunderbird but I guess I assumed that a company with the technical expertise of Verizon could handle maintaining an email account.
    If I try to access my email settings via Verizon Central, all of the email fields contain the message "You email access has been disabled".
    If I go through the Welcome to Verizon Webmail interface I am greeted with a red error message "Sorry, you account is suspended. Please contact Tech Support".
    I did contact Tech Support and they are unable to resolve this issue, come on, I mean how hard could it be to trace this problem and resolve it.

    I wonder if anybody in their email department knows what a SMTP header is or how to read one, it is not that hard. I used to edit/modify sendmail.cf files all the time.
    You would think someone there could solve this problem. And to make things even better, many of their phone techs have really poor attitudes. No big deal for them, it isn't their email that is not accessible.
    Something like this can really bug you. I pay the big V over $200.00 per month for combined services including FIOS TV, Internet, Telephone and a family wireless plan.
    I guess they can afford to lose a customer because they sure don't appear be interested in keeping my business.
    Sorry for the rant but I find this unbelieveable. If not for larger crisises occuring in my life at this time this would really tick me off.

  • What are the reasons for disabling the saving of data in a PDF?

    I seem to have had more than my share of encounters lately with PDF files that have editable fields but have their data saving capability disabled.
    In some of these situations this has been an absolutely maddening inconvenience.
    When I attempt to bring this to the attention of whomever's responsible I get brushed off.
    One person's response was: Actually the majority of the PDF forms I have are Adobe reader and you cannot make changes electronically at all.  The reason for this is to make sure that the documents are not altered in any way.  The <companies creating the PDFs> must make sure that changes are not being made to their forms.
    I just don't understand that.  How is entering and saving data 'altering' a PDF?
    Is this just bone-headed bureacracy, an urban legend, or is there some fundamental practical matter I am not aware of?

    Saving a filled-in form has always been disallowed with Adobe Reader, formerly known as Acrobat Reader. Though there are a few exceptions...
    History lesson:
    Forms features were first introduced in Acrobat 3. As you might imagine, a number of folks wanted to be able to save filled-in forms using Acrobat Reader. Since this functionality simply was not a feature of Reader, it was not possible. If you wanted to save a filled-in form, you needed to use Acrobat (Exchange).
    Upon recognizing the potential market for a product that they could sell, Adobe developed and released Acrobat Business Tools, which was a version 4 product. It was positioned between Reader and Acrobat, was reasonably priced, and allowed users to save filled-in forms, apply digital signatures, and add comments. Unfortunately, this was marketed poorly and did not achieve commercial success.
    The next iteration was a similar product named Acrobat Approval, which was a version 5 product. It too could save a filled-in form, but was in some ways more limited than Business Tools, and suffered a similar fate. That is, it was not a market success. It was however distributed for free to US taxpayers on the IRS tax products CD-ROM.
    The next idea from Adobe - which was a good one - was to provide for a means of embedding usage rights in a PDF document. These rights would allow Reader to do things it normally would not be able to do, such as saving a filled-in form, adding comments, importing/exporting form data, creating new pages using templates, connecting to databases and web services, etc. At first, the only way to enable these usage rights was with an expensive product from Adobe, so the potential was initially not realized.
    With the release of Acrobat 7, Acrobat users were able to add some usage rights, such as commenting. While this was a welcome addition, folks still wanted to be enable forms to be saved with Reader. Finally with the release of Acrobat 8 Pro, users were able to enable forms to be saved with Reader, but it came with licensing restrictions. In short, if the licensee distributed the form for more than 500 recipients, the licensee could use data from no more that 500 copies of a particular form that was returned to them, including hardcopies. This was great for forms used inside of an orginization, but not so great for forms that needed to be used by the general public. Still, it was a very useful feature for a majority of businesses for internal forms, the vast majority of which have fewer than 500 employees.
    Acrobat 9 or 10 didn't change things. Adobe still wants to capitalize on this market, which certainly is not a bad thing for Adobe and their stockholders. The US IRS forms have long been saveable with Reader because they licence Adobe Reader Extensions, which provides revenue for Adobe.
    Note that some third-party PDF viewers allow users to save filled-in forms whether or not the documents have usage rights. Such software has a different marketing model than does Adobe Reader/Acrobat, and rides the coattails of Adobe by taking advantage of the popularity of PDF forms.

  • How to disable message images in Mail app for all but contacts?

    I use the Mail app for OS X Mavericks and have been inundated with spam lately. I understand that spam email campaigns can confirm that you have opened their mail (and subsequently continue to send you mail) by image tracking so I would like to disable images from showing for all except my contacts. I don't recall if it was with Mail or another email client I previously used, but I vaguely remember message images not showing by default and requiring you to click a button at the top of the message in order to show the images within it. If possible, I would like to be able to do this for non-contacts.
    So my question is: how can I disable images from showing, by default, in messages from non-contacts within the Mail app?
    If there is no way to do this, can someone suggest an alternative email client for Mac OS that does allow this? I am willing to change if this feature does not exist within the Mail app.
    Thanks for your time.

    Personally, I've never heard of spammers tracking by a contact's image. I think you might be confusing this with the images in the message.
    Spammers can do two things to track you.
    1) Send an email with a read receipt. Mail doesn't support read receipts
    2) Send an email with an embedded image (sometimes called a bug or beacon). When the email is opened, the email software loads the image from the remote server by sending it an HTTP request.
    If a message matches the junk mail criteria, then a bar will appear near the top of the message. External images in the message will automatically be disabled, so that spam authors won’t be able to track if you’ve opened the message. To load the images, click the “Load Images” button in the bar, or to mark the message as not junk, select “Not Junk.”
    Mail > Preferences > Viewing >Uncheck Display remote images in HTML messages.
    Enable Junk filtering in Mail Preferences. Check "sender in in contacts, sender in in previous recipients**, message is addressed using full name.
    Use SpamSieve, third party product to filter spam, http://c-command.com/spamsieve/
    Keep contacts in your Address Book.
    Mark messages as junk to help train the junk filter.
    Don't open a message you think is spam. You should be able to see enough of a message in the preview to know if it's spam.
    ** Open Previous Recipients under Window in the Menu bar. Remove any addresses from spammers.

  • Save option disabled in Reader 7 when another user works on the same PDF

    Hi, I'm a first time user of Acrobat Pro 8.1 and 9. I'm creating PDF forms. When I open the forms in Reader 7 and work on them, I can directly save it, I do not have to do 'Save as'. However, when I copy this document on another machine, open it in Reader 7 and make changes, the 'save' option is disabled, whereas, I can do a 'Save as'.
    My client does not want to do a "Save as'. They want to modify the original document and just click 'save'.
    I would like to know if this is an internal feature of Reader 7. Please provide a solution, if any
    P.S: I'm enabling usage rights in Acrobat Professional, still the Save option is not available in machines which don't have Acrobat Professional.

    The document can be copied on another machine in two ways:
    1. The document can be sent by mail and copied to the recipients local drive.
    2. It can be placed on a share drive and copied on another machine.
    I am enabling rights through Advanced> Enable usage rights in Acrobat Professional 8.1. Do I need the Adobe Livecycle Reader extension software as well to enable local save in Reader 7?
    Please provide me a solution.

  • Winmail.dat Attachments are received whether TNEF is disabled or not

    Hi,
    we've got some issues when sending emails to some linux recipients, that attachments or s/mime signed emails are converted to the dreaded winmail.dat attachements.
    On Exchange 2010 i've just configured the corresponding remote domain (or the default one) to disable TNEF sending to this mail domain.
    Apparently with Exchange 2013 this setting does not work anymore. With setting the parameter "TNEFenabled" to $false, the recipients still get winmail.dat attachments.
    do you have any idea how to work this out?
    Kind regards,
    Peter

  • How to Disable VRFY and RCPT

    How does one disable VRFY and RCPT on Ironport AsyncOS for Email Security 7.6 and what is the impact? I understand an attacker can perform an account enumeration and verify whether e-mail accounts exist and a spammer can automate the method to perform a directory harvest attack and send spam emails.
    Thanks

    There are three SMTP commands that apply here.
    VRFY - not implemented by ESA. ESA will respond "250 ok" to everything
    EXPN - not implemented by ESA. ESA always responds "500 command not recognized"
    RCPT - can't be "disabled" as there is no other way to specify envelope recipients.
    I would recommend that you set up LDAP Accept and DHAP (Directory Harvest Attack Prevention). That will allow the ESA to stop dictionary attacks. Once too many bad recipients have been tried the appliance will reject all recipients from that IP address for an hour.
    DHAP is normally best set up to function during the SMTP conversation and to drop connections. If you enable it during the work queue your appliance can get bogged down with undeliverable outgoing messages from all the bounces. Dropping the connection can help with botnets since they usually don't waste time by re-queuing messages to be tried later.

  • Disable theMail user to re-enable the auto complete function in Composing.

    Hi Just wondering if anyone knows of a way of disabling the auto-complete function of the Addressing section under Composing in Mails preferences? To many company emails are being sent to the wrong recipients.
    I have changed everyones preferences and used ARD to push out the updated preference, but as the user can just switch it back on, its not very helpful. I need a way of locking down the preference?
    Any help appreciated..
    Thanks

    Solved.. I just added the preference setting to to the Library/Preferences/ for Mail and it over rides the users... I might try this on other applications...

  • In email how to disabled recent contacts

    Hello

    Delete any or all.

  • Disable email address caching/autofill.

    Hi Folks,
    I have seen this question asked before, but no solution. I have an iPhone 3GS, running iOS 4.2.
    If I reply to an email that someone sends me, the email address is stored in the email address cache on the phone. For example, if [email protected] emails me and I respond, I now have [email protected] in my email address cache, even though it does not appear anywhee in my contacts.
    So now, when I go to type a new email and type in as the first letter "j" - the email address [email protected] is now one of the options to select from.
    How do I disable this, or at the very least, remove [email protected] ?
    I find this feature very annoying.
    Thanks.

    I have seen this question asked before, but no solution.
    Because there is no solution - not at the present time anyway, except for restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup to purge the entire list.
    How do I disable this, or at the very least, remove [email protected] ?
    Not possible to disable the list of previous recipients and not possible to remove a single email address from the list of previous recipients.
    As with the Mail.app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients. The email address autofill feature pulls from the Address Book or Contacts, and from the list of previous recipients. Different from the Mail.app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients to add a previous recipient to the Address Book or Contacts that is not already entered, or to remove a previous recipient from the list - not a the present time anyway.

  • Alias Name Changed after Connecting a Disabled Mailbox

    Hi all, Good day.
    I have a quetion. A mailbox was disabled by mistake, so I have to connect it. Now problem appearred: the correct format of our email address is
    [email protected], but after connecting, the email address became
    [email protected], but the username is still peter.fiala.
    Environment: Windows Server 2008 R2 + Exchange Server 2013.
    How can I connect the disabled mailbox with the correct address/alias? Thank you.

    Hi,
    I was wondering if you have setup of the global email address policy, though you can manually add the email address via going into the properties of the mailbox >> mailbox features >> email address but you need to identify the cause of this email
    change, global email address policy should be at the HUB server - check the properties of the policy.
    To edit the existing email address follow the below steps
    In the EAC, navigate to Recipients > Mailboxes.
    In the list of user mailboxes, click the mailbox that you want to add an email address to, and then click Edit .
    On the mailbox properties page, click Email Address.
    Note:
    On the Email Address page, the primary SMTP address is displayed in bold text in the address list, with the uppercase SMTP value in the Type column.
    Click Add ,
    and then click SMTP to add an SMTP email address to this mailbox.
    Note:
    SMTP is the default email address type. You can also add Exchange Unified Messaging (EUM) addresses or custom addresses to a mailbox. For more information, see "Change user mailbox properties" in the Manage
    user mailboxes topic.
    Type the new SMTP address in the Email address box, and then click OK.
    The new address is displayed in the list of email addresses for the selected mailbox.
    Click Save to save the change.
    Best of luck

  • How to disable my Jbutton before a long operation?

    I want to disable a button before sending email and enable it once it is finished, I know it is something to do with Swing thread, but I cant get it work, someone please help me...
    The button can be disabled if i commented out sendEmail(...), sendEmail() is just function to send email using JavaMail API to send email to multiple recipients, so i guess the JavaMail uses thread for its process? How can I disable the button before sending emails?
              sendButton.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                   public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                             SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {

                                       sendButton.setText("Please wait...");
                                       sendButton.setEnabled(false);
                             /* some logic */
                             sendEmail();
                             sendButton.setEnabled(true);
                             sendButton.setText("Send Email");
