KP26 cost element- Entry

HI
For a activity type we are assigning a cost center with a cost element (category 43).
when that acitivity is performed the cost element is getting and debited ...i want to know to which cost element the credit will affect and where & how we assign the same.
This is for  processing the REPETATIVE process order in ECC6.0.
UR help is very much appreciated
Regards
Praveen

Hi,
For your information,
In KP26,We are not assigning the cost element to the cost center,But what we are doing in KP26 is, JUST WE ARE MAINTAINING THE ACTIVITY RATES, if that particular activity is performed in that cost center, then those rates will be applied.
You can maintain different activity rates for the same activity type, for another cost center. Pl check this.
Regarding the credit cost element, unlike in financial accounting, no need to define cost element for credit. The cost element which is debited at the time of posting is a Secondary cost element, which is meant for purely cost accounting purpose.
Hope,i have clarified you.

  • WBS settlement to AUC - use original cost elements?

    Hello gurus
We have an allocation structure which settles project WBS costs to AUC.
The issue is that it is using a single settlement cost element for all the costs going to the AUC.
I notice there is a tick box 'by cost element' in the 'Allocation structure:settlement cost elements' entry for FXA.
What is the result of using this tick box?
We would like the original cost elements in the WBS to be credited rather than the single one.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks everyone

    Hi
    - we do not have secondary cost elements posted
    - we do not use budget checking
As I said, we would like the original cost elements against the WBS to be credited. The single one is causing problems because it posts in total to 55291 (as in the configuration) which does not reconcile back to the many cost elements posted to the WBS.
    Is this possible?
What is the effect of the check box 'by cost element' as we do not understand the help text on this checkbox field and are not sure if this could solve the problem (or there is a downside to using this). If this is not possible we would like to know as well.
    Thanks all

  • Cost element deletion-COEP entries deletion originated from Spl purpse ledg

    Hi Folks,
We have created RA GL account by mistake as cost element and some entries have already gone into table COEP table. To delete cost element the prerequisite is that cost element shouldn't contain any entries. We have deleted COEP entries by using program "RKACOR20 : to delete CO documents for the GL doc and its reversal document" generated from FI, but unable to delete one entry which has got originated from Special purpose ledger. Can any one suggest way to delete this entry from COEP table.

  • Statistical cost element (Value type 11) line item entry in CJI3

    Dear all
I am doing WBS settlement to AUC thr CJ88. Suppose actual cost on WBS is 100 rs.
CJI3 report shows the balance to be settled to AUC. Now It is showing 100 rs balance. I carry out WBS settlement to AUC.
Even though settlement has taken place to AUC, CJI3 is showing line item entry of 100 rs (Statistical cost element with value type 11).
This also affects our reporting as in report S_ALR_87013558, because of statistical cost element line item entry, WBS actual cost is showing as (100+100 st'cal)
Also, I read in sap note 666152 that we can define transaction type as not releavent for account assignment. But i dont see this kind of setting anywhere in transaction type.
Can we restrict the statistical cost element to not take part in CJI3 (CO reporting)?  How we can avoid statistical CO postings.
    Pls suggest
    Madhusudan Patil

    Hello,
Statistical postings could be generated, if
    (a) you have 2 co-objects, e.g. cost center and internal order. There is a default rule in the system, that in this case the internal order will be posted real and the cost center statistical
    (b) you have 2 co-objects and one is marked as statistical in the master data. Actual Postings only to statistical co-objects are not possible. You can not settle statistical values, they will stay at the object.
Please check OSS-message 106968. It explains everything in detail.
You can modify your report, that it will show only real postings (value type 04), but I wouldn't do it. For me it sounds that you have to check your value flows in general. They look inconsistent, if you do not expect statistical postings.
    Kind regards

  • Duplicate Entries For Cost Elements

    Hi All,
We have a situation in which in a particular inventory org duplicate entries of a cost elements have got created. eg: Material Cost Element has appeared twice or thrice for an item, similarly material overhead, resource etc. due to which the item cost has shoot up.
Can someone please suggest what could be the possible reason for the same? Its lil urgent.
    Thanks!!!

    Dear
Can please confirm  wether this depdends are for any MTO order ? I mean you have Sales Order for FERT with MTO item categoery and running MRP  in MD02 .In that case whether , it is generating multiple similar MRP  elements.
Basically , this is happen based on the Planning Horizon as well as Re-schedule horizon kept into OPPQ /MRP relevent paramentrs/OPPR in case of MRP group  .If your firm reciept like Production Order are boyond the planning horizon during your MRP run , demnad will be re-considerde to create Planned order .So chek the PH/Rescheduling horizon .So keep bit larger Re-scheduling Horzon .
Refer our earlier posting :  new planned orders on next  MRP run
Other possibilites can  be explored in the SAP notes  from sales stand point : SAP Note : 744305/744484/80891

  • In KP26 activity types allocation cost element displaying old cost element

    Hi,
I changed cost element in activity types. But in KP26, activity types picking old cost element only.
Ex: I changed 9430000002 for Labour activity with old one 9430000001 but in KP26, while planning for Labour activity it is picking 9430000001. so its becoming problem while running CK11N.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Neeraja

    Dear Neeraja,
While changing the secondary cost element for activity type, hop you got the following warning message.
So you must check whether the existing data is there or not for that activity type.
    One more important thing.
The cost element field is a time based filed.
You can change this field for each fiscal year. For example, you can change the field content for a new fiscal year.

  • Secondary cost element........

    Hi,
Is it necessary to create number of activities = to number of secondary cost element.
    or
only one cost element is enough for all activities for posting to cost center.
    Regards,
    Imran

    Dear,
    Secondary Cost Element
When cost element carries cost with in CO, then they are called secondary cost element.
    Example.... - Take Product Costing
On manufacture of the goods the cost of the above product (production order) is arrived at accumulating material cost + operational cost + overheads (%), additive cost if any.
The cost of operation is accumulated in cost centre be it production / production service / service cost centres, while booking FI entries.
Those operational cost has to be allocated to production order based on operational activities carried on and its cost involved in it. Those operation activities in CO are termed as activity types and has to link the same in KP26 with rates and cost centre (ie., sender cost centre and receiver production order).
In order to find the production order cost, the allocation of cost from sender cost centre to production order for the operational activities carried on and its cost associated with it, have to be loaded, hence in CO the cost centre allocate that portion of operational cost to production order, and this cost is carried by a cost element (since there are no FI involvement and entries are flowing within CO by crediting sender cost centre and debiting receiver production order a cost element has to be created.... say "Operational Cost - Activity" the entry will be
Operational Cost - Activity (Production Order) Dr Rs.XX
To Operational Cost - Activity (Cost Centre) Cr Rs.XX
The entries are with in CO. And the cost element created is secondary since it does not has an link with GL Account in FI correspondingly.
In CO the production order and cost centre are co object including but not limited to.

  • Secondary Cost Element Setting Criteria

    Hello all SAP usrs
I am quite green for Controlling.
I have a question need all your help.
Could I know what criteria to be used to set secondary cost element? Also I would like to know the usage of the secondary cost element. Please share some knowledge on it. Thanks!
    Best Regards!
    Gavin

    Hi Gavin
Secondary cost elements are like production costs, material overheads, production overheads, they can be created and administered in only CO.  These are used in internal cost allocation, overhead calculation, settlement transactions., it does not flow to FI...

To Operational Cost - Activity (Cost Centre) Cr Rs.XX
The entries are with in CO. And the cost element created is secondary since it does not has an link with GL Account in FI correspondingly.
In conclusion there is need to creatre a secondary cost element when when you want to disribute the cost with in CO module not in FI

  • Cost rates maintained in ERP system and cost elements from PPM 5.0

    Hello experts,
I will appreciate it if  you could help me with this subject below.
I want to search in ERP system what cost rates are maintained for each approved worked hour in PPM system. But, I do not know where should I look for this.
I take a look on the report of the created internal order:
You can see, that the actual posting of 25.000 is booking in the ERP PROD system on cost element IT-HOURS
When I display the booked working times I find 5 Hours taht I booked on my personnel number on Internal Order :
I want to know where in the system  is  maintained the cost rate that calculates automatically the 5 hours booked on cost element IT-HOURS to 25.000 . So each hour costs 5.000. I want to change the amount of each hour from 5000 to 50.
I’m not an ERP expert so I don’t know where such rate can be maintained in ERP. I need your expert help!
    Thanks a lot,
    Ruxandra P.

    Hi Ruxandra!
You have to distinguish plan costs from actual costs. By doing time confirmation (e.g. via CATS) on your internal order the system posts actual costs.
Using the Role concept of PPM (role-based or task-based) you are dealing (generally spoken) with plan costs. Derived from your entry message I suppose you are already using accounting integration.
Accounting Integration is a big topic, that is very difficult to generally describe in a posting. Please have a look to the general information in help.sap.com => General Information About Accounting Integration - SAP Portfolio and Project Management - SAP Library
Please beware: There are many accounting integration scenarios, therefore there are several aspects and places to maintain cost/revenu rates. On the PPM UI you have the possibility to maintain differing cost/revenu-rates per role/task.The rates in general (plan and actuals) are maintained in KP26.
Also have a look to your business partner (role-based scenario), if there is a cost/revenu rate.
For time confirmation you can have a look to PA30 => infotype 0315 for your CATS suggestion values (activity type, costcenter, etc...).
Please come back with any detailed questions, you would like to have answered.
    Regards,
    Peter

  • Activity Type: cost element does not exist

    Dear All,
I am working on ERP  configuration for PP module as an academic exercise. I am already through with FI, CO and MM modules.
I am not able to get through the Activity assignment step in PP module. (Accounting u21D2 Controlling u21D2 Cost Center Accounting u21D2 Master Data u21D2 Activity Type u21D2 Individual Processing u21D2 Create). While creating activity type labor (labor hours), I am getting error "cost element does not exist for aggregated period"
In CO module I have created primary cost element for "Labor"(Category: primary cost/ cost reducing revenues). Also created secondary cost element for labor (cost element category: Internal activity allocation).
Can anybody guide me on how to go further?
    regards,
    Supriya

    Dear
Please revivew the following steps when you are creating a New Acvity type :
OP51 - Check Settings for formulas
OP54 - Check formulas for Costing
Ensure that usage of the parameters are indicated.  Some parameters are appropriate for capacity calculation but not for schedule calculation.  If you like to find out the parameter id, you could use the Search Fld. for Param. pull down button to do so.
KLH2 - Maintain hierarchy of Activity type group.
OP19 - Define standard value key
The purpose of standard value keys is to group together a set of parameters for the purpose of ensuring that the standard values for the parameters are supplied in the operations of the routing.  This is so that the formula (for calculating cost, schedule, and capacity) could have the necessary figures to work with.  Once the parameters are associated with the standard value keys, work centers quoting this standard values will be able to dictate whether or not the parameter values are optional or mandatory entry in the operations of the routing.  The pre-requisite for using this transaction is that the parameters must have been pre-created.
KA01 - Create Primary Cost Element for the new activities type. Maintain Correct From and To date inline with Activity Type KL01  - Create Activity Type tied to the primary cost element. (the Cost element field)
KP26  - Change Activity Type/Activity Price Planning - maintain the Variable price
If the user include the additional activities in their work center, the routing that used the work center will required more time to finished the jobs.
The operations Start and Finish date will be extended due to the extra time spent on the work center.  The cost of production increases in line with the extra activity which will be reflected in the Factory Output when you do a cost analysis in the production order.   The new activity will have a price attached to it and the moving average price will increase.
    Regards

  • G/L account 59500140 cannot be created as a cost element

    Hi Viewers,
When I try to do the KO88 Process order settlement i am getting the below error:
G/L account 59500140 cannot be created as a cost element
    Message no. KQ119
    Diagnosis
When maintaining the posting rules for passing on results analysis data to Financial Accounting, you entered a G/L account that is defined as a primary cost element in cost and revenue element accounting. This is not allowed. You must enter a G/L account in the posting rules that is not defined as a cost element.
    System Response
    The entry invalid.
    Procedure
    You have the following options:
Enter a G/L account for which no cost element is specified in Cost and Revenue Element Accounting.
You can change the message type with user-defined error management (transaction OPR4_KKA). What should be observed when you enter a G/L account in a posting rule that is defined as a primary cost element in Cost and Revenue Element Accounting? You need to define a CO account assignment so that the posting defined in the posting rule can be executed. You do this with transaction OKB9 (default account assignment) or OKC9 (substitution), or using the default account assignment in the cost element master.
I would like to know the GL Account 59500140  is a P&L Account. Is it correct?.
Please help me to overcome from this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Aswin

Execute transaction code FSP0 and check whether the account is a P&L or a Balance Sheet.  Nevertheless, you can only enter accounts that are not created as cost elements in customizing transaction OKG8.  If you enter an account that is also a cost element, then you need to configure default CO account assignment using OKB9 or a substitution using OKC9.  Please refer to the following SAP Notes.

  • Cost element in FRL in obyc

    hi all
we have created external service account as cost element and that is mentioned iin transaction key FRL in obyc
so whenever i am doing the GR for subcontracting posting system will debit the FRL account and will credit the  GR/IR account
so at the time of Gr system is asking for the co object now thing is that i cant mention the Cost center there as there is no option in migo for that
my query is do we have to create a new account for FRL and that we should not make up as a cost element  but then how we are going to pass the expense entry to controlling  module from FI
    i

    Hi,
There is always an alternative way of defaulting Cost Center for one cost element. You can put default cost center at Cost Element master data. But still I believe , you can solve this problem thru OKB9. Try accessing the tab Default Account Assignment per business area/Valuation area. This tab allows you within one company code and for specific Cost element , to put accross different cost center for different plan/valuation area provided you are working with plant as valuation area concept.
Pls check and let me know
    Cheers
