KPro content server issues
Hi,
For a document type ADK to view our engieering turbine drawings, we have defined our storage location as KPRO. This worked fine till feww days. However, we are facing a strange problem. We are able to check in /out the documents in KRPO properly from some systems. What may be the problem?
Suspect there may be connectivity issues of front end access to kPro Server. Try the following:
- Use transaction OAC0 and double click ZCS_TEMP
-Open a new browser and call http://<HTTP Server>:<Port Number>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo
- Replace <HTTP Server> with server name and <Port Number> with Port number from OAC0
See if there is a response.Else, contact your Basis admin.

Counting files in a KPRO content server
Hi all,
Is it a mean to get directly in KPRO the number of files (and eventually the size) contained in a KPRO content server?
Do you know any KPRO/CCMS tool to perform this?
Thanks in advance
DavidHi David,
there might also be people around here (Java-based EP-KM) who know this (I do not). But you may also want to try an ABAP forum...

SAP Easy DMS / KPRO / Content Server
Dear Fiends,
We have a requirement to configure the SAP Easy DMS integrating with ECC 6.0 EhP6 application. I am trying to understand the base application components which are needed to set-up the landscape.
My questions are:
1 - Do we need SAP Content Server as part of the SAP Easy DMS configuration to store the attachments? (or) Can we use shared file system and link it to SAP Easy Document Management directly to store the attachments?
2 - Do we also need KPRO along with SAP Easy DMS?
Thank you,
SriHello Tilak,
Thank you for the response.
Based on your comment, We have to use KPRO regardless whether we use Content Server or not with Easy DMS.
Is KPRO a additional installation or is it part of standard SAP application and available via transaction codes?
Thank you,
Sri -
Hi guys,
i am facing an issue with the TCODE SICF. when i follow the path default_host/bc/content server and when we double click the content server there is a Logon data tab. now when we give the client ,user name and password details it gets saved in a request. now when i release the same request into the QAS server the same details does not get saved in SICF. instead the service gets disconnected. is there anyway that the details can be saved in the QAS and PROD servers without the request being generated in these servers.right answers will be aptly rewarded with points.I'm not sure what you mean with "save in a request". Is that a "transport request"?
Well, since the logon data entered in an ICF service is always referring to a local account (type "SERVICE user") it does not make sense to transport that data - in the target system the user might not exist or at least will have a different password. So, after transporting the ICF service you need to assign the (local) logon data, again.
For security reasons, any newly imported ICF services are deactivated (like after installation) - since it is not clear whether they are really required and thus need to be active. I'm not sure whether this is also the case if the service used to be activated before and was only updated by importing the transport request.

Post-actions for Kpro-Content Server after Sap DB Copy
We have a Sap system based on Web As 6x connected to a Sap Content Server to store originals.
We copied back this Sap system to the quality system.
Now the Sap quality environment refers to the same Content Repository of the production, and we want to modify this.
From this environment it should not be possible to access or to modify the originals of the production.
More in general, wich post-actions can be done on the Sap target system after a DB copy where the source system is connected to a Content Server ?
For example, which tables can be cleaned up ?

Attachments with KPRO / Content Server
Hello,
I am trying to store Shopping Cart's attachment in KPro using Archive Link on SRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0.
Here find what I did:
1. I created my Content Repository ZA (CSADMIN & OAC0) - All is green
2. I created a new Global Document ZBBPATT in TCODE OAC2.
3. I created the link between my document, the object type and the content repository as follow: ZBUS2121 | ZBBPATT | X | ZA | TOA03
But when I created a SC my attachment is store somewhere but not in CS.
What's wrong ? Did I miss something? - it seams yes
Next step is to transfer the SC in ECC.
Thanks

Configuring Attachment Transfer
Prerequisites
If you wish to store shopping cart attachments in the backend system, you must first activate the data transfer by creating an active method in the BAdIs BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW (for purchase orders) or BBP_CREATE_BE_RQ_NEW (for purchase requisitions).
For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Supplier Relationship Management: SRM Server ®Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) ® Follow-On Document Generation in the Backend-System ® Purchase Order in Backend System.
Or choose SRM Server ® Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) ® Follow-On Document Generation in the Backend-System ® Purchase Requisition in Backend-System.
Procedure
You have to configure the R/3 Document Management System (DMS) in transaction DC10:
1. Create document type SRM. Note that no flag is set in any of the columns.
2. Double-click in the detail view to define the new Doc. type desc. = SRM Documents. Set the Use KPro indicator.
¡ Enter 1 in the Number assignment field.
¡ Enter an internal number range interval. You can use an existing interval or create a new one in transaction CV90. The internal number range must be used, because the GUID of the SRM attachments has more digits than the number in the backend system.
¡ Maintain the number exit. The number exit is a program exit for document numbers. It controls number assignment and version numbering for documents. The default setting is MCDOKZNR. If you want to control the number assignment or the version increment via a USER_EXIT, then you have to replace the program MCDOKZNRwith a company-specific program. You can find further information in the field help for number exit.
¡ In the screen area Field selection, enter u2013 in the Document Status field.
3. Go to the dialog structure and double-click the entry Define object links. Define the new object links EKPO and EBAN. Maintain object link descriptions for EKPO (Purchase order item; Scr.no. 248) and EBAN (Purchase req. item; Scr. no. 247)
4. Define the workstation application in transaction DC30.
All required file types should be included in this list. -
Content server config - error?
While creating content repository in OAC0,after filling all necessary fileds and trying to send the certificate, the below mentioned error occurs.
<b>Error in HTTP access : If_HTTP_client>receive 1
ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED</b>.
Help me how to rectify...
Regards,
John.Hi John,
if you don't see any errors around the same point in time in the MaxDB / SAP DB files dbm.prt and/or knldiag.err (both found in the Rundirectory, normally <drive>\sapdb\data\wrk\<SID> on Windows systems), then it's very probably not a MaxDB / SAP DB issue, but a general Content Server issue. In that case, this forum (MaxDB/liveCache) would be the wrong one.
So, please let me know if you find something in the mentioned files.

MaxDB Connection Issue for Content Server
Hi All,
We have installed Content Server 6.40 on Windows 203 server.
We are able to visit the Url http://host:port/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo
But while creatng a repository i am facing issues..its throwing error that
"HTTP error: 500 (Internal Server Error) "CreateTab ContentStorage, connect error SQLConnect failed, [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data s"
Checked these two notes 698915, 301352 and ru the comman to register MaxDB drivers and got that message that the drivers registered successfulyy.
But still i am not able to create repository uing CSADMIN.
Also ,when tryng to connect to MaxDB using superdba or contro user ,its throwing error "-2 ERR_USRFAIL authorization failed "
Even the control user i amnot able to login.I am giving the password which i gave during installation.
Database is SDB
Pls suggest.
Regards
AjayHello Ajay,
1. I recommend you to create the SAP ticket, if you failed to connect to MaxDB
using superdba or control user with known to you passwords.
2. Could you post the password, which you used during the installation.
In the past the issue was with using passwords more as 9 symbols with Unicode MAXDB.
If you was using, for example, "test123456" password => try to connect to the database
with u201Ctest12345u201D password < first 9 symbols of the password you used during the installation >.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina -
Migration of documents from a http content server into sap kpro und sap dvs
hello,
I want to migrate documents from an http 4.5 content server into the sap knowledge provider (kpro) and in sap dvs with an abap program.
I know I have to create a PHIO and a LOIO and write it in the tables DMS_PH_CD1 and (only the LOIO) in DMS_DOC2LOIO.
Where I have to write my url for accessing the document on the content server? In which table?
What fm´s do I need to create the PHIO´s and LOIO´s?
Has anyone an idea and hints (like weblinks) to integrate documents from an content server into kpro and sap dvs?Hello,
the private key, where the hash is signed with is stored
in your AppServer directory $DIR_INSTANCE/sec and is
called SAPSYS.PSE. Where the PSE is a secude (www.secude.de) specific format which contains the private and the publik key.
But I guess you won't get the private key, because its private, unless you are the Administror
Then signig is done via the normal industry standards. (http://www.rsasecurity.com/)

Customizing KPRO for an external Content Server
Hello !!
Could you help us about this problem .
We need to install document's archiving onto a external Content Server (product Documentum), using KPRO.
We have customized thus :
OAC0 : Content Repository = Z1 for DMS ( DocArea) and version 045.
CSADMIN : We receive the message HTTP command adminContRep (operation configGet) is not possible for Z1 (only as of 0046) when we validate .
OACT : (Maintain category) , Z1 is affected to SOFFHTTP .
SKPR08: Categories for physical doc classes , the category SOFFHTTP is affected to the class SOFFHIO.
With the transaction CV01N , used to create a FID and to join a document , we receive the following error when we try to archive the document :
"Error during the archiving of D:\Carte..".
Nevertheless we can find the joined document onto the server Documentum.
Do we forget a customizing ??? Thanks a lot .Hello
i don't know the version of SAP ERP you're using but nevertherless you should bear in mind this detail:
CSADMIN: "digital signature" not checked means you are not using it.
OAC0:"No signature" SHOULD be checked if you are not using it (to be consistent with CSADMIN)
However i am not sure this is solely responsible of your errors; in case of SAP content server, if it works for one user, it will work for the others.
Please be more clearer in your last part ???
Do you mean only the user having done the check-in of the file who can afterwards access the original (in display and change) ?
what do you mean by "For the other people, it doesn't find the original location" and also by "unless we create the same original location, or we change the original location".
In case of SAP Content Server, we don't care about "location", whether the file comes initially from a fileserver X or Y or Z, as far as the file has been correctly checked-in the content server, it should be accessible for anybody (as far as user rights allow it)

Kpro usages with common server storage and Content server storage
Hi Sap Gurus,
Can any one tell me is KPro tick that we make in Document type if it is related to the storage types we are going to use,
Can this KPro feature for Document type can be used for any document type irrespective of the Storage type, like weather storage type may be Vault, Archive, SAP DataBase, or the Content Server,
let me also know waht is the benifits of going for this Kpro Tick in Document type (apart from Storing n no of original files in the DIR)
we are trying to store original files in acommon Server (not content server) can we avail all the features of Kpro Tick.
Points awaiting,
Thanks and regards
ShantiHi,
Kpro marked in any of the document type is for indication of using content server as a external storage system.
Yes, Kpro can be ticked to any document type but since this is related to only external storage device so this wont support storage systems like Sap Database, Vault but supports to Archieve through Archievelink interface.
Benefits are many and depends upon the business requirement..
1. all the documents related to the organisation can be storaged in external content server rather thn in SAP database of R/3 system which avoids load on R/3 database.
2. as you said, n number of files can be attached.
3. it can be used in terms of attachments in Additional files, product stucture and so on.
4. if Content sever is used also along with cache server then this main server can be used as a central storage location from where globally users can do transaction of documents without and error and in short time.
Only Kpro storage provides all the functionality, you will be using common server which will be only accesible for storage purpose but not for the extra functions which Kpro provides..
hope this helps u..
Thank You,
Manoj

Kpro, vaults & content server
Hello all
what is a 'knowledge provider' in simple terms. ?
contrary to a DMS secure storage area (which is always) a SAP database.
so would anyone tell me what is a kpro with an example please.
also what's a 'vault' {other than the obvious} and a 'content server' ? with an example please.
Thankshi,
The SAP Content Server is a separate and server based component to store content such as electronic documents originating from different formats. The SAP Content Server ist provided by development of technology and is to be used cross application for any SAP applications. He is to be installed on a separate system. Typical content is training material and documentation from Knowledge Warehouse or technical drawings originating from mySAP PLM Document Management System.
Kpro n wledge Provider (KPro) is a generic document management infractructure,KPro is the standard document management infrastructure of the SAP Web Application Server, formerly known as the Basis system. KPro offers a wide range of document management functions, such as check-in, check-out, logical hyperlinks, and versioning. The fundamental concepts of KPro are protected by US Patent 6,134,552.
Knowledge Provider (KPro) is the standard document management infrastructure of SAP Web Application Server (formerly known as the Basis system). As such, it is a service which is part of every SAP Web Application Server system.
KPro is a (mostly) invisible service layer that can manage any kind of document. It can be deployed by any SAP application in order to manage and maintain documents and document content in a sophisticated manner.
KPro uses the component SAP Content Server to store document content. In other words, SAP Content Server stores the documents that KPro manages and maintains. SAP Content Server runs on a separate computer that hosts an Internet Information Server (IIS), SAP extensions, and a database (with SAP's DBMS SAP DB). The database is installed as part of SAP Content Server.
