Labels on Totals in 10g
Hi,
We recently upgraded our test instance to 10g and have begun testing Discoverer reports using Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.48.18). I have encountered a random issue with totals and subtotals in some workbooks.
An example would be my Sales by Salesrep report that shows the total tons and revenue for each customer with a total by salesrep. The total is correct, but the labels (e.g. Qty Subtotal and Rev Subtotal) appear in the detail portion of the data.
In 4i the report appears as follows:
Salesrep Customer Tons Revenue
Joe Smith ABC 1000.00 30000.00
XYZ 100.00 2000.00
Qty Subtotal: 1100.00 Rev Subtotal: 32000.00
However, in 10g the report appears like this:
Salesrep Customer Tons Revenue
Joe Smith ABC Qty Subtotal: 1000.00 Rev Subtotal: 30000.00
XYZ 100.00 2000.00
1100.00 32000.00
The label isn’t always displayed on the first row. Sometimes it appears in the correct place and other times it appears on any random row.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on how to correct it?

Hi Angela
Are you perhaps using a group sort that inserts additional lines between the group sorted values? If you do this and use subtotals in Discoverer 10g R2 then things get out of sync and Discoverer places the labels in the wrong place. It actually places them where they would have been if there were no additional lines.
Of course while Discoverer has many undocumented, desirable features this is not one of them. I'd actually call this an undocumented, undesirable feature (in other words - it's a bug).
Could this be what you are seeing?

For PPR Report:
Select "Yes" in "Enable Partial Page Refresh" item of "Layout and Pagination" region in Report Attributes of that report.
For display Label with TOTAL:
Use "Break Formatting" region in Report Attributes of that report.

How to install Oracle Label Security in Oracle Database 10g EE
Hello All
I just want to know how to install Oracle Label Security in Oracle 10g Database EE.
I read in Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Installation and Basic Configuration that Label Security must be installed before installing Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
I have Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.1) on my Windows XP System, and I patch it to 10.1.0.3.

Problem with Item Labels in ORacle 10g
Hi,
We have unchecked the item labels in oracle discoverer 10g. when we create the portlet(after moved server from 10.1.0.2 to 10.1.2), it showing item labels for the discoverer report.
we dont want item labels to be displayed in portlets.
Can one any tell us why this occurs?

We have unchecked Item Labels (not to display the column names in the cross tab) in Discoverer plus (Tools ----> Options -----> Sheet -----> Show Item Labels).
And created the discoverer worksheet portlet in Oracle Portal with Options to display the cross tab.
The Item Labels are displaying in this discoverer worksheet portlet.
We donot want to display the Item Labels.
How can i achieve this?

Adding label for the total value shown
Hi,
I'd like to add a label to the report's grand total row.
Let us say I've a report that shows the count of all employees and the sum of their salaries reporting to a particular manager 'ABC' in a particular location say 'UK', so I've a grouping by manager and location. I've the display of subtotals enabled at both groups. For each total row, i want to show the label as Total Employees for ABC is 5. Total Salary for ABC is 1000. Similarly Total Employees for ABC in UK is 3 and Total Salary for ABC in UK is 700. How do I achieve this in a Report that I created in Oracle Business Intelligence.

1) Put the location column in position 1 in the Rows section of your pivot table.
2) Click on the "sigma sign" on the Location column and select "After."
3) Click the sigma sign again and this time choose "Format Labels."
4) In the Caption window, enter: Total Employees and Salaries for @1 is:
5) Click on "Horizontal Alignment" and select "Right."
6) Click "OK."
7) Put the count and salary metric in the Measures section of the pivot table.
That should do it. -
Y Axis label color inherits Pen color and not the default Label color.

How do I enforce my Y Axis Label to taken the default color specified in the iChart Y-Axis Label Color property instead of picking it from the Pen color selected from the legend? I have a Y-Axis Label called "Total Stock", I can very well change the Label text using method
document.TestChart.getChartObject().setYAxisLabel("Label from code");
But when I use a similar
document.TestChart.getChartObject().setYAxisLabelColor(Color);
property, I dont see the color change on the screen. But when I get the color using a getYAxisLabelColor() method , the specified input Color is set. My Label in the Y-Axis, always inherits the Pen color of the selected Legend Item, by default the first Item color on Page Load.
Settings done in the iChart:
Use Selected Pen for label : Unchecked
Y Axis Label Color: #000000
Y Axis Label : Total Stock
Show Y Axis Label: Checked.

I tried the method you mentioned...
document.TestChart.getChartObject().setYAxisLabelColor(document.TestChart.createColor("#000000"));
But I still dont see a change in the Label color.
Another finding is, when I try to alert the Label color on load of the page or during the creation of the applet, I see the label color on the alert is not the pen1color but the default Label color that is set in the display template. I assume that the legend's default selection, overwrites the Label color with the first pen color, but I could not get it with the getYAxisLabelColor() method, even though I see it on the screen.

Interactive Report Sub-total and total
Hi friends,
I have an employee interactive report with group by job name and also showing the salary sub-total for each and every job(group by).
I have an requirement like to highlight the sub-total for each and every job with a background color so that the user can identify the sub-total with the color, and also whether it is possible to display an overall total @ last in the report with a label named "Total Salary" in which it calculates the overall salary is also to be highlightened with the background color.
Also is it possible to display a text "Sub-total" besides each and every salary sub-total of job(group by). Currently if we display a sum for the salary then im getting the total's but with out a text named total.
Since i can see the highlighted feature in interactive report but im not sure how to apply it for the sub-total and total column.

But that Total region color dint change.The code for style should be in "Form HTML Element Attributes". However, this changes the background color only for the Total value not for the whole row.
If you want to change for the whole row, you need to change the template that is selected for the region.
I changed the region template in your application to "Borderless Region" and made the changes to the "Borderless Region" template, it now shows the background color for Total Value.

Hi,
In my application I have reports tab and have few reports.
I am able to sum the amounts in the report using the aggragete function.
But besides the total amount computed I want to display Label like Total Amount.
tried with display item and put in the same region but no luck.
can we achieve this or any other work around.
Like i should get my total as follows. now iam getting total 600 but no total amt label beside the same. thanks in advance.

Hi,
I created a mailing labels report using Report 10g. When I run the report with format RTF and open it in Word, the first page if great, but then it inserts a blank page, followed by the third page being correct.
Is there any way to delete the blank page?

VCthis might be caused by MS word. check the page settings and the margin settings word assumes when you open the document.

How to show subtotal and total of groups in ssrs
I am making an SSRS report in following format:
DIVISION
SECTOR
DEPARTMENT
Division contain Sector and Sector contain Department so resulting report becomes something like following. A figure is being shown against each Department and I want to show SUBTOTAL of each Sector right against Sector column (by adding all Department coming
under it) and then show TOTAL of Division (by adding all Department or all Sector) at the end. How do I show these totals?

To add totals to a report

In the empty cell to the left of Sum[Qty], type the label "Order Total".
To add a daily total to a report
Right-click the Order cell, point to Add Total, and click After.
This adds a new row containing sums of the quantity and dollar amount for each day, and the label "Total" in the Order column.
Type the word Daily before the word Total in the same cell, so it reads Daily Total.
Select the Daily Total cell, the two Sum cells and the empty cell between them.
To add a grand total to a report
Right-click the Date cell, point to Add Total, and click After.
This adds a new row containing sums of the quantity and dollar amount for the entire report, and the Total label in the Date column.
Type the word Grand before the word Total in the same cell, so it reads Grand Total.

Setting Default Label Position
Hi all
When I create a Boolean (or anything else), LV defaults to putting the label above the control and left justified. I like to change that so that the default location for a label is just to the right and top justified.

I've heard this advice about the justification before, but many times it
doesn't seem necessary. If the label is totally above or below the
control, then the justification will determine which edge of the label
moves while the top or bottom is maintained. As long as autosizing is
turned on and the label projected horizontally intersects with the frame
of the control, the justification doesn't matter since the right or left
edge, whichever is next to the control will be maintained.

e orginal question, this is something you can change with
custom controls or typedefs, but the built-in control label position
cannot be controlled.

I have very basic application which uses DataSerives over RTMP channel to populate dataGrid , I have not used any user defined component.
This application has got LOAD data and Remove data Button just to simulate the actual application
What happens , when I click on LOAD data , It loads the data from server(JBOSS) then I Remove all the data and force the GC to run
If I continuously keep loading and removing the data , memory goes up every time and after some times It reaches to threshold and finally crashes the Browser.
In actual application as soon as user logs in a dedicated DS destination is created..

Sorry for late reply.
I tried your suggestion but It did not help to release memory. Actully,this app contains only one event handler which is for remote method call , I dont think this could cause any memory leak.
Profiling session reveals that It is the issue of DataService class.I dont know How do I convince Adobe to investigate this issue.
