Hi Gurus,
We have fixed labour hour per hour is 100.84/hr.Now we have 5 work centre. We have configured it accordingly. In future two new cost centre will come.
Pl advise how we can allocate same 100.84 to total seven work centre.
Pl advise.

Would it be possible to manually calculate what the rate should be and enter it into the Activity Type/Price?

  • Labour Postings into Cost Centres

This month, when our labour documents were posted into the cost centres, the exchange rate it used to exchange BRL/EUR/GBP etc to USD was different to the exchange rate showing in our SAP table.
Does anyone have any idea how this could have occured and where the exchange rate might have come from?
    Many thanks,

  • Cost Centre Derivation Issue at the time of PGI

    Dear Experts,
At the time of Posting Post Goods Issue, SD Consultant is facing error that GL Account 6* requires assignment to a CO Object.
According to my understanding, system should derive Cost Centre at the time of P.G.I through following logic :
I have assigned Profit Centre : 999999 to the Cost Centre : ABCD and the said profit centre is being used at the time of Sales Order Posting. While doing PGI, system should derive cost centre data from Profit Centre Data which is used in Sales Order but currently system is not behaving like this.
Another way is to assign respective cost centres against COGS Gls through T-Code : OKB9 which is not right I think. Because how can we map Cost Centre Data with Profit Centre Data in order to get Profit Centre Wise Profitability Reports?
    Please guide me any solution.
    Regards,
    Sapna

    Hi Sapna,
For most cases, your COGS account should not be a cost element.
Secondly, if you want to make it a cost element, you will have to maintain OKB9 for it, either on the basis of profit center or plant.
System cannot pick cost center based on the cost center master data because there may be many cose centers assigned under the same profit center. There is no one-to-one mapping of cost center to profit center.
I would suggest you do not make COGS as cost element unless the sale order is an MTO sales order or business insists on it.
If business insists on it, then add the cost element to OKB9.

  • Third party gratis order and cost centre allocation

    Hi all
I have a problem with third party sales. When the sales order is gratis, the cost centre allocation is determined by our gratis order reason. This particular cost centre is locked for invoice receipt posting (as it is gratis), and so we cannot complete the 3rd party process.
Is there any way around this - I can see in the IMG that you can create requirement classes for costing but I cannot see where you assign these requirements to items.
Also, I am not sure about the implications of removing the lock on invoice receipt postings.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Please chck with FICO  team wether the cost center is loocked for same ?

  • Project Systems: Profit and Cost Centres

    Hi
When maintaining a WBS element through transaction CJ02 or CJ20N for example; it is poossible to link a profit centre, ressponsible cost centre and requesting cost centre to each WBS element.
My question is: When cost gets incurred against a WBS element the profit centre gets updated with the cost as well. However, the cost centres (responsible and requesting) do not get updated. Is there any automatic effect on these cost centres (such as is the case with profit centres)?
I know that the requesting cost centre will be the cost centre allocated to AUC's assigned (if applicable) and that to get cost onto the cost centre a settlement rule must be maintained. What therefore is the use of having responsible and requesting cost centres assigned to a WBS apart from this?

    Hi
Cost center and WBS elements are both cost objects hence at a time real posting can happen to only one of them. Since WBS elements are getting debited , it will not simultaneously debit a cost center. However profit center it is not the case , hence the data flow to the profit center happens as an when a posting is done to WBS element and also when WBS is settled to cost center then also there will be a posting to profit center.

  • Cost Centre Splitting

    Dears
I am not very much conversant with Controlling.
Still I am supposed to do the period opening activities in Controlling.
I need a clarification on the Cost Centre Splitting.
    Cost Centre 300001 is having 3 activity types : MACH001, LAB001, FIN001
In our case, there is a Split structure Z1 and there are 35 assignments to this structure.
When I go into the individual assignment, say, first assignment (defined as 10),
I see that the selection criteria is Cost element group : AB0001 (5 cost elements) & ActivityType : MACH001.
    What does this imply ?
I understand that the total plan cost for the cost element group AB0001 will be allocated to the Activity type MACH001 for this Cost Centre 300001.
This cost will not be available to any other activity type in the same cost centre.
    Is my understanding correct ?

    Hi,
Please look into the following to know the concept of splitting:
Here I am providing the necessity and importance of splitting structure,
Expense Analysis and Splitting in Manufacturing Cost Centers
Introduction In SAP Cost center work as a cost responsibility center, where all the expenses and cost are stored and analyzed for the purpose of management decision making.
The cost could be fixed or variable in nature. The difference between variable and fixed costs can be made in various ways in product costing in CO module.
Fixed costs represent the static costs incurred by the organization, which doesn’t change on the basis on manufacturing activities, which remain constant irrespective of production activities like rent for the premises, salaries of office staff etc.
On the other hand, variable cost varies based on the level of production activities; if production activities increase then variable cost also increased like electricity consumes raw material charges etc.
However all the variable cost doesn’t vary in direct proportion by quantity of goods produced.
In this document will try to define; how the Expenses analysis and splitting of cost done in manufacturing cost centers.
From controlling prospective, fixed cost remain constant regardless of operating activities, but if these factor changes, variable cost will fluctuate.
Basically raw material costs represent variable cost, but in this document main focused will be given to distinguish fixed and variable activity cost.
The segregation between fixed and variable cost is optional and is derived from the configuration and master data configured in cost center accounting and overhead accounting.
    Activity Price:
There are different methods that could be used in cost center accounting to determine the activity price. The simple way is the manually enter “Fixed” and “Variable” Activity cost (KP26).
However there are other methods used in Cost center Planning and Budgeting that automatically calculate the fixed and variable activity price.
Here the focused will be given on Planning and Budgeting activity and automatic calculation of plan activity rate in cost center.
This method aggregate planned costs by cost element and capacity by plan unit to calculate the activity price.
Activity independent costs are segregated among different activities based on Splitting Structure, while activity dependent cost directly used for the purpose of variable activity rate calculation.
    Fixed Activity Cost:
In product costing all those cost, which doesn’t vary based on the activities in manufacturing cost will represent fixed cost.
In a manufacturing cost centers there may be two or more activities performed.
To calculate the activities rate, the fixed costs are distributed to various activities on the basis of Splitting Structure defined for cost center.
    Variable Activity Cost:
Variable activity cost, which directly depend upon the activity type and fluctuate based on increase or decrease in manufacturing activities. In SAP variable activity cost are directly linked to the respective activity.
Activity Prices: Fixed and Variable Split
In Cost Center Accounting dividing the cost between Fixed and Variable requires appropriate split to be made in the cost entered for the activity. The process is described below:
    i.  Variable cost would be planned at activity level and expenses should be maintained at cost element in the manufacturing cost center by assigning activity and cost element combination.
In other word, the expenses should be planned on Activity type at the time of primary cost planning (KP06).
Then the variable activity rates are calculated on Total cost planned at Activity divided by Total number of activity planned at that cost center (i.e. capacity in KP26)
ii. Fixed cost would be planned at independent of activity type. These costs are maintained in KP06 at cost element level on manufacturing cost center.
Then the fixed costs are distributed on various activity types on the basis of Splitting structure defined at OKEW.
In Splitting Structure we define the rules, how the fixed cost will be distributed to Activities. For the purpose of this document, considering split of fixed cost on the basis of Capacity maintained in KP26.

  • Cost centre role in SD module

    Hi FI/CO experts,
Do anyone know the cost centre role in SD module.?
In which scenarios we hve to use Cost centres in SD module.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    shabnum

    Dear Shabnum
Cost center costs are always transferred to one profitability segment:
    <u><b>-> Production cost centers</b></u>
These cost centers are first credited during production as the activities they perform (such as machine hours and assembly hours) are required. The amount of the credit is based on the quantities confirmed by production and on the activity prices (such as machine hour rates) usually calculated in cost center planning. The balances that are thus achieved - or the overabsorption/underabsorption remaining for the production cost centers due to the difference between credits and actual costs - are transferred en bloc in periodic profit analysis to those profitability segments in CO-PA that caused those costs.
<u><b>-> Sales and administration cost centers</b></u>
Many companies transfer the costs from administrative cost centers to CO-PA en bloc instead of allocating them to cost objects. This reduces the period results of the individual divisions, product groups, or business areas.
It is also possible to transfer postings that are made in Financial Accounting to cost centers and profitability segments at the same time. In this case, the postings are statistical in Cost Center Accounting, while the true costs are stored in Profitability Analysis. The system ignores these statistical costs in Cost Center Accounting when assessing costs to Profitability Analysis.

  • Assignment of Cost centre in OM

    Dear Experts ,
I am having a scenario ...can two cost centre be assigned to one person. Its like person X is assigned one cost centre.Person Y has left the company. Now we want to assign the same cost centre which was under Y to X..So, person X has two cost centre under him.
Is it possible? as I am facing problem while doing this..If yes..please tell the steps or method.
    Regards,
    Tanu.

    Dear Tanuja,
    1. Why do want to assign two cost center with one person?
    Info type 0027:
You can use IT 0027 & subtype 01 for distribution of employee salaries.
Ex: Total employee salary want to go particular WBS Element or Order type then maintain IT 0027 with 100%. So when ever payroll postings happening, that particular employee salary will get posted as per IT 0027.
    Info type 0001:
where we will maintain master cost center
Assignment of Personnel Costs to the Master Cost Center
    Purpose
This data entry scenario for cost accounting assumes that employees always work for their master cost center and that the receiver of an activity is not debited with the personnel costs. This is the standard scenario if you do notimplement SAP Payroll (PY).
If you do use SAP Payroll, you should not use this scenario in the following cases:
You want to debit the receiver object of an activity with the personnel costs
You want to perform activity allocation
The sender cost center is not the employee’s master cost center
This would cause an imbalance in cost accounting, since the sender cost center would be credited with the entered hours and the master cost center debited with the personnel costs.Prerequisites
Employees who enter their working times using a data entry profile specifying their cost center must always work for the same master cost center(s), as specified in the Organizational Assignment (0001) or Cost Distribution (0027) infotypes.Process flow
You enter an activity allocation or confirmation in the time sheet.
In Controlling, the activity allocation credits the sender cost center and debits the receiver cost center.
If an attendance, absence or wage type is entered at the same time, the system writes the working time information to the Attendances (2002), Absences (2001), or EE Remuneration Info infotype (2010) in HR.
The Payroll component determines the personnel costs for the times.
In Controlling, the employee’s master cost center is debited according to what was specified in theOrganizational Assignment (0001) or Cost Distribution (0027) infotypes.
So my suggestion is before assigning two cost centers with one employee just once discuss with your CO consultant he suggest you how to it..!

  • Resrticting Goods receipt based on cost centre in EBP Version 2.0

    Hi,
I am working with EBP2.0 version & I need to know whether I can restrict the GR with ref. to cost centre in EBP. (ie. Receive any order functionality. We have not defaulted any cost centre & the user will enter the cost centre & GL a/c at the time of creation of shopping cart only.
Is it possible to restrict the Goods Receipt with ref. to cost centre in EBP2.0 version. If so then please let me know how to go about it.
Your immediate response is very much appreciated.
    Regards
    Raghu

    Hi  S.R.P.
There is no control  between GI and GR, you have to make a control using UDF
    for example
1.Add UDF in GR called GI Number
2.and make this field mandatory using SP
3.Ask the user to enter GI number
4.If user enter GI number in GR then choose the item code in GR means, using FMS you can also do automatically load a Warehouse, price,Account code what ever in GI.
5.using sql query report u will get control

  • BI FI and Cost Centre Reconciliation

    Hi
I have a requriement to create a GL reconciliation report between Finance and Cost centre data, i have a multi sitting over the relevant cubes and the data is coming through.
    The report is as follows
                     |_FI Total__|___Cost Centre Total__|__Difference_(should = 0)
    GL Account |                  |                                  |
For the cost centre data the report should bring through the data where the cost element = GL account in the row,
    ie GL Account - 60000
    FI Total - GL Account - 60000
    CC Total - Cost Element - 60000
    Difference - FI - CC
Any ideas on how i can do this or if this is possible?
    Thanks
    Josh

    Hi Harshal
Yes i was able to create this report, i had to create an infoobject ZFI_GLCE with 0GL_ACCOUNT as a ref. characteristic.
Then i created a cube and had transformation going from YCOOM_C02 (CO-OM: Costs and Allocations (Delta Extraction)) to the cube where i mapped the Cost Element to ZFI_GLCE and then also had another transformation from YFIGLO02 (General Ledger: Line Items) to the cube mapping the GL Account to ZFI_GLCE.
Could you further explain the problem you are having with the GL Accounts?

  • Split Cost centre - PO Commitment

    Hi ,
I have a SC - PO with multi account assignment ( 50 % split on 2 cost centres) , this was raised by mistake and i want to Delete the PO to put the commitment back .I can't delete the PO in the back end based on the deployment scenario.I have done the Confirmation for Zero quantity to put the money back but this did not happen.Generally it works for Zero Quantity confrimation every time for single account assignment.
Is there any way to put the commitment back ?

  • Goods Receipt of BOM material- cost centre required for components

I have created a subcontracting PO with a BOM material.
When trying to post a Goods Receipt the components of the BOM material are required to have a cost centre assigned to them.
The profit centre for the BOM material and components are the same. The BOM material does not require a cost centre to be entered in the Goods Receipt as the Profit Centre is allocated to account assignment tab.
Why does the profit centre assigned to the components not default in the account assignment, why is the system asking for a cost centre?

I receive this error when trying to post the material document:Field Cost Ctr is a required field for G/L account 1000 7023000200
    Message no. F5808
    Diagnosis
The value for field "Cost Ctr" in the interface to Financial Accounting is an initial value but you are required to make an entry in the field selection for G/L account "7023000200" in company code "1000" linked to the field selection for posting key "81".
    System Response
    Error
    Procedure
It might be an error in the configuration of the G/L account field selection. The initial application, used to call up the interface must otherwise define a value for field "Cost Ctr". If this is the case, contact the consultant responsible for the application used to call up the interface or get in contact with SAP directly.

  • Vendor return in case of procurment against cost centre

    All SAP Gurus,
We have procured some spares against Cost Center.
    Goods are received.
But later we found that these are defective, so need to be send back to the vendor.
How this can be done in SPA (because do not we  have these components in stock as these are procured against Cost center)?
    Regards,

In real time what happens is for an account assigned PO the stock gets consumed. So the stock doest show in any storage location in the system as the system thinks that since u have processed an costcenter assigned PO it is not present in the system.
But practically in ur shop floor the material may be present. For this the return to vendor by reversing the original mat doc shouldnot happen. So we do a return PO which returns the material against the original PO by deducting the material value from the cost centre where it has been originally accumulated.
Please try the process in your test system.
    regards,
    indranil

  • Allocation of Costs

    Hello,
Can somebody please tell me how you can allocate the costs in a particular GL Account (and Cost Centre / Company Code), to various other Company Codes/GL Accounts/Cost Centres?
Baiscally, we want the functionality of the Assessment process in SAP - however the Assessment in SAP does not allow for intercompany transactions.
Is there any other alternative besides doing an Intercompany journal entry (which we want to avoid)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Rob

    Hi,
For this you create an assessment cycle, where you define the percentage to the receivers, sending cost elements etc.
    IMG->Controlling->Cost center accounting->planning->allocations->assessment->define assessment.
run KSUB to execute the plan cost assessment
    Hope it helps
