Labview 7.1.1compile error crsc=0x40

I cleaned up a group of VIs that a student wrote several years ago. When I thought I was complete, I clicked on the broken arrow fully expecting to see an error report complaining about a few broken wires hiding somewhere. Instead the following message was presented:
Compile error reported at topLevelMain1.vi Contact NI tech support.
"copy cvt str/pict/tag csrc=0x40"
Checked all the lower level VIs and they compile.
Recompiled library containing bad VI, renamed all files in library and copied the library to another location on the harddrive. Finally I recompiled the entire LV folder. All this to no avail. I still have the error.
What should I do?

Dennis is right, the Concatenate Strings function really seems to dislike wiring strings and arrays of DAQmx tasks to it at the same time...at least in LabVIEW 7.1.x.  I don't know if this issue is addressed in LV 8.0 or not, but for now, I think you can workaround it by wiring each of those task arrays into a DAQmx Flatten Channel String.vi (found on the DAQmx Advanced > DAQmx Utilities subpalette), and then taking the output string of that VI and wiring that into the Concatenate Strings function.
Hope this helps,

  • I would like to convert a matlab file into a .dll and use it in LabVIEW. However, when I run the .dll in LabVIEW I get an error stating "... Procedure not found". What could this be? Can anyone help me...

I wish to convert my Matlab files into .dll's so that I can use them in LabVIEW. I am using 'mcc' and 'mbuild' of Matlab to convert my .m files into .c and .dll.
When I try to run the .dll's in LabVIEW, I get an error message in a modal window stating some required .dll or procedure is not found.
How should I resolve this issue. Should I add any other Matlab .dll's in course of making my .dll?
Please help in solving this issue... Thankyou very much.

  • Why does labview generate Dr. Watson error "C0000005 access violation"

I am running Labview 5.1.1 in Windows 2000 Professional on a machine with the following configuration
    *----> System Information <----*
    Computer Name: ANDANTE
    User Name: Administrator
    Number of Processors: 2

    Windows 2000 Version: 5.0
    Current Build: 2195
    Service Pack: 4
    Current Type: Multiprocessor Free
I have all of a sudden begun to experience labview crashes. The crash occurs systematically after tens of minutes; not just a few minutes, but not more than an hour or so. I am running a vi but not actively interacting with the machine (no other applications running, not even moving the mouse around). The problem happens even when running a vi that I have run successfully for extended periods of time (overnight) only 3 months ago. I have tried it with two different vis, one that I have recently made a lot of modifications to and another that has not been touched for months (since before the crashes began), and it happens with both vis. They do much different things (communicate with different GPIB or PCI boards, write to different kinds of files in different locations, etc.), so the problem seems to be vi-independent.
When the crash occurs, I see a dialog appear with the error
labview.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log has been created.
The Dr. Watson error log is generated and the error is

    When: 4/25/2004 @ 01:57:56.640
    Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)
I always get the same Dr. Watson error information -- i.e., it is very reproducible. I don't really know how to interpret the rest of the Dr. Watson log, but I include the report on the first thread, which is the one with the "FAULT" in it, at the end of this email.
Looking around on the web, it may be that a temporary virus infection could have created the problem. In the period since the machines was last successfully used, I have seen two files be infected by the W32.Welchia.B.Worm virus, the files were svchost.exe and WksPatch[1].exe. These files have been quarantined and no other infected files have been found since this error began to appear.
Any ideas? I've seen on the web that reinstalling Windows 2000 and/or upgrading to Labview 7.0 might solve the problem, but it would be nice to get some confirmation before taking the time/spending the money.

It is best for support and for the forum if you can provide a clear description on how to cause the error consistently.

  • LabVIEW 2009 launches with errors

    Hi Folks,
LabVIEW 2009 launches with errors now everytime I open it.  A window appears showing an error list with nothing in it, with a close and show dialog box (hangs with hour glass).  Neither option is possible since the window self closes in about two minutes.  It's a little frustrating since it adds to my loading time everytime I launch it.
Any suggestions other than unistall/install process?

  • Labview.exe generated error

LabVIEW.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.
I don't know where this error log is getting created.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks"

I have the same problem/ error when I try to run my VI controlling R&S CMU200, and it was due to wrong GPIB Address on the equipment.
Would it be the same problem? How about checking that the equipment's GPIB address set is same to that the Initialize.vi is wired to.
It may not be the problem but no harm to try.

  • When I try to migrate vision builder to labview I get an error message

when I try to migrate vision builder to labview I get an error message "Error at Labview code creation step #6"

Does the error seem to be occurring at the same step in your Vision Builder AI script? See if you can determine if a certain step introduces the error by trying different modifications of your script and/or generating LabVIEW code from a Vision Builder AI example inspection. Also, are you using IMAQ Vision 7.0 for LabVIEW or a previous version of the Vision software?

If you already have IIS web server running, you need to run the LabVIEW web server on a different port to avoid conflicts. It probably won't start because the port 80 is already in use.
Check options.."Web Server: Configuration" within LabVIEW.

  • When i am trying to create a report(using graph) in Word97 using Report generation Toolkit from Labview it's giving error in word import Module.vi that no such interface is supported could anyone help me out to solve this problem

Word import Module.vi is trying to call Vb project and VB components thru active X controls when it's trying to call Vb components it's giving the error no such interface found..I am using Labview 6,MSoffice97,Graph8

    Hi Adam,
It seems that there have been a couple other instances of the same error occurring and the problem is a conflict that occurs with the Office 97 only. Somehow the MS Office type library has been modified and this is causing incompatibilities with MS Office 97. Have you installed any other application on top of MS Office that plugs into MS Office tools – Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Reflection?? If so, you will want to see about uninstalling or reinstalling those utilities and then reinstalling Office 97 to restore the original MS Office 97 type library.
Also, if you have a newer version of MS Office, I would highly recommend upgrading your computer. It seems that this problem is only with Office 97 and later versions of Office do not have this issue.
Thanks again for bringing this question up.

  • LabVIEW Application throws Error in Run VI Invoke node

    Hi All,
We are facing an issue with an application developed from LabVIEW 2010SP1.
    Application Description:
In our application, there is a top level VI which tries to run VIs dynamically[using Run VI invoke node] from a particular folder. This folder is like a plugin - not part of Exe. This implies when the top level VI is launched, the plugin VIs under particular folder will not be in memory. When we try to run a VI dynamically from the  top level VI, the VI execution works perfectly in LabVIEW development mode.
    Problem Faced:
When we created an EXE, it worked well in my PC [LabVIEW is installed]. We created an installer and tested in few other PCs.
[Non LabVIEW PCs – Win XP and 7]. In few PCs it throws the following error, when the plugin VI is run dynamically.
Error 1003 occurred at Invoke Node
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW:  The VI is not executable. Most likely the VI is broken or one of its subVIs cannot be located. Select File>>Open to open the VI and then verify that you are able to run it.
    Method Name: Run VI
We tried the following possible ways to find the reason for the issue:
    1. Installed LabVIEW - Issue got fixed.
    2. Installed .net 2.0 without installing LabVIEW - Issue got fixed.
    3. But in one of the Windows 7 [Non - LabVIEW PC] in which .net was already installed, we faced the same error.
Only after installing LabVIEW the error got fixed.
    4. When .net 2.0 is uninstalled the EXE itself is broken.
We are not sure what is the Exact reason fo the issue. Anyone faced these kind of issues? Please share the solution. Thanks in advance.
    Note:
    1. The VIs which are dynamically called is a plugin and not a part of EXE.
    2. These plugin VIs have no dependencies from vi library and is completely isolated.
    3. We are not using any .net related objects in any of the VIs.
    4. The plugin VIs use Call library function node in which a C DLL developed from Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 is used.
    Thanks,
    Meena
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Error 1003: This clearly indicates that the 'Dynamic VI' is broken and now you should check for the various reasons, why the 'Dynamic VI' is broken.
Also path of 'Dynamic VI' is not a problem.
One thing that you may try is:
-> First open just the 'Dynamic VI' in a new LabVIEW project and check for the 'Dependencies'.
-> Now if any of the item in 'Dependencies', other than what is listed in vi.lib (lets call it 'Dependency.VI'), is also a part of your 'Main Exe', then its a problem. Because when you will execute the 'Main Exe', say in a new computer other than your development computer, it will load all its dependencies including 'Dependency.VI' (and the path will be within the 'Main Exe', but when it will try to (dynamically) load the 'Dynamic VI', this VI will also try to load the same 'Dependency.VI' but from different path and that will cause a conflict. I had experienced this.
-> If thats the issue, you may want to rename (add suffix/prefix) to all dependencies of your 'Dynamic VI' which is common to the 'Main Exe'.
    Hope this solves your issue.

I am trying to build an executable and I keep getting and error and cannot seem to figure out what is wring.  The whole error is "LabVIEW: resource not found.  An error occured loading "interface 3.vi"  Labview load error code 24:  this vi cannot be loaded because it is broken and has no block diagram."
I am using LV 8.20 and DSC 8.2.  I am trying to create an executable that has the web server running for using remote panels, i have netowrk published shared variables, connecting to a fieldpoint unit, and I am using the NI system tray icon vis to load the program to the system tray.
I have my shared variable library added as a support file, as well as the lvdsc.ini, and the tray icon files.  I have sleected "Enable Enhacned DSC run time support" in the app builder, did not remove any type def, etc.
I cannot get the .exe to run on my development machine or another machine, I get the same error.  I tried creating an installer that installed the 8.2 runtime, dsc, fieldpoint, variable engine and manager and MAX.
I could not find anything in the help files on the dsc, maybe someone else has some hints.  thanks

    Hi Kenny,
I hope you are doing well today! What is interface 3.vi? Is it possible for you to post your project over here? Also, I would recommend creating a simple DSC application; and would like you to build it. Do you still get errors?

  • When calling Excel 97 Macro from Labview 5.1, get error: cant find macro!

I have a macro written that I am trying to call from Labview. To assist in this task I downloaded an Excel Macro VI off the NI Websight. The VI came with an excel workbook that included a sample macro. I can run the example with no problems. I then modified the VI to fit what I am trying to do. I can get it to work with the Sample excel macro but not the one I created (I get an error saying it can't find the Macro). I have played with the timing and that has not worked. I have also noticed that when I use the sample Macro, it will work fine for a while then after a random number of executions, it will stop working and I will get the same error as with my Macro. In order to get it working ag
ain, I have to remove the sample worksheet (macro) and replace it with the original copy. I have been pulling my hair out for a couple of days now with this one so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am not sure what the problem could be. The VI you speak of can be found at the following link:

I ran the program for excel 2000 on my LabVIEW 6.1 about 50 times and did not get the error you reported. Your macro should not be corrupted with use. Have you considered reinstalling excel? I liked the idea about turning off multithreading. Do you see the same behavior if you run in high light execution mode?

  • Calling Matlab from Labview returns a 1047 error - what am I doing wrong

Does your script work fine in MATLAB? Do you run a VI or an .exe?
MATLAB must be running, otherwise LabVIEW will be unable to access the MATLAB server. This will cause the 1047 error. Manually start MATLAB, and your program should run without the error.

I have all of the vis assembled, the computer is a Windows XP running LabVIEW 7.0 professional with the build application.
When I try to build the program, the application chugs away, adding vis etc, but then it gets to this (see attachment):
    Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks for any help.
Let me know if you have questions that I can answer.

    Hi All,
I should have updated you all on this yesterday.
I did find my error.  I missed putting in place a patch that NI had given us way back when we were putting all of this together.  Once I installed that all was fine.
I do appreciate the time that you took to look into the issue and I'm sorry about the wild goose chase.
With a few particular programs it is better that we keep those in their original configurations, hence the use of 7.0 in this case.  Rest assurred for any new projects we are using the latest and greatest of LabVIEW.  It'll be interesting what others down the line have to say when they pick up new code that I'm developing now in 15 to 20 years!!!
    Best Regards,
    Dan
