LabVIEW not seeing Occurrence set in DLL
I have a LabVIEW VI, which calls a DLL (that I've written in Borland C) and then waits for the DLL to set an occurrence. However, it never sees the occurrence.
I've checked the following:
1) The DLL is running
2) The Occurrence value that is used in the DLL is the same as the one being waited for in LabVIEW
3) The VI does detect occurrences in general (set in a subVI, for testing and for exit)
I have an example dll and VI which works, so I know that it is possible. Any ideas why it's not working for me? I've done a check on the error code returned by the Occur() call in the DLL, and it seems to be 1: does this indicate success, error, warning? And is there any documentation anywhere on error codes returned by Occu
r()?

You're right, there's definitely something wrong with the parameter as I'm receiving it in the dll.
I managed to find some data on Occur(), and an error code of 1 is "mgArgErr" which means "not a valid user event" - which I assume means that the Occurrence parameter is invalid.
Here's what I'm doing:
In LV, I've wired the output from "Generate Occurrence" into my dll call. The dll function parameter is configured as "adapt to type", and "handles by value". For testing purposes, I've also cast the Occurrence to a I32, and pass that as a 2nd parameter of the dll function.
In my dll (in C), I've declared the function as follows:
BeginGetData(LVRefNum* MyOccurrenceToSet, int Arg) (with all the dll export stuff in front of it). The Occur call looks
like this:
MgErr result = Occur(*MyOccurrenceToSet);
If I put a probe on the I32 typecast value in LV, I get the same number as if I do a fprintf on *MyOccurrenceToSet in the dll function call, so I assume that the Occurrence is being passed correctly - although I may well be using it wrongly. Casting *MyOccurrenceToSet to an Occurrence does not seem to do anything.
I have an example VI & dll which I downloaded from a posting on one of the forums, and that works perfectly - and from what I can see, all my types are the same and the calls are done in the same way, so I don't understand why mine is not working.

Not seeing my setter but seeing my getter?
I have a lass which has two methods, a getter and a setter. they are of the name fileName. I can see the getter just fine after instantiating that class, how ever my setter is un seen. So I deided to test a theory and change the name of my setter to fileObject and then I see it, the setter. But when using it I get the error: Call to possibly undefined method fileObject
Both methods are publi. The set returns nothing, and the get returns a string (we all know how to do getters and setters).
Why is this method (public method) not showing up as a possible series of methods to choose from?These are "broken classes" as the code in them has nothing to do with this issue.

V570 can not see wireless n connection
Hello, I just bought a V570 5 days ago and noticed that the wireless adapter does not find my 802.11n signal but only the 802.11g signal. While the 2.4 GHz connection is ok, I expected to be able to connect to the faster network. I've tried to set up the connection manually it still does not show in the available list of connections. I've tried putting my new laptop within 2 feet of the router - no luck.
This is not a problem with my router - my work laptop (2 year old Lenovo ThinkPad) connects to my "n" network without a problem, as does my cell phone. I've checked the adapter settings and have the defaults set - 802.11n Channel Width for Band 2.4 set to 20 MHz and and 802.11n Mode enabled.
What I find interesting is that when I look at the adapter settings on my work laptop, it shows a setting that my new one does NOT have - 802.11n Channel Width for Band 5.2. Why do I not see this setting on my new laptop. Is this a problem? While I like the laptop, this is bugging me enough to return it if I don't find a solution soon.

I was "burned" by this issue, when I bought my Y470. I just "assumed" that a brand new laptop, would include a wireless card that supported both channels. What I found out, after I received my new system, was that almost ALL laptops coming from Lenovo, only have B/G/N 2.4 Ghz cards. If you want a card with 5Ghz "A" support, you must upgrade the card in your original configuration order. The real kicker is, if you use the Lenovo outlet web pages to buy your system, you can not upgrade most of Idea Pads wireless cards. Those type of upgrades, seem to be only "offered" on Think Pad systems.
However, you can still buy, and install, and upgraded wireless card. I'm just not sure where you can buy it, and still be under warranty. See this thread:

You would think that Lenovo would have a "parts" outlet web site, that I could go to and order an upgraded wireless card. But it's like pulling teeth, to get any kind of "after purchase" upgrade information out of them. I guess they're too busy selling their systems, instead of making sure they get "brand loyalty" such as IBM once did.
Still, I'm very happy with my Y470. And as I've said, I get a 144 Mbs connection using the OEM wireless card. I had to fiddle with my connection settings on the card, and also on my E3200 router, to achieve the 144, but I've gotten good range on the 802.11N, 2.4 Ghz connection. After all, isn't that what it's all about, anyway?

Why do I not see http or https at the front of the web sites I am visiting?
At the top of THIS page I do see mozilla.com and then https://support but when I go to any other page like www.cnn.com or www.msnbc.com I do NOT see any http or https in front of it. IF I try to go to my bank site, it will load the front information and populate https as I expect but I do not see a setting where I can get it to show me.
That is a result of a very undesirable change in 7.0.1 to copy what Google Chrome is doing, and what Google is doing in search results.
Firefox is customizable and configurable. It is unfortunate that the original/simplest coding is always changed and that we must then undo so many cpu robbing changes with more corrections to give back the original content and intent. For solution, see

I think I have it working on my iPhone 5. But, I do not see how I can control the exit point that I would like for the VPN. Are all the exit points shown in the VPN setting now going to work with Open VPN, or do they remain PPTP? If I am reading correctly, they look like they remain PPTP. If I cannot control the exit point for open VPN, which exit point is the default in the profile you provided me?I note that Open VPN Connect does not work with any of the new 64 bit devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the new iPad MIni. Is there any chance that you guys will come up with an update for your app so that open VPN can be made to work on all iOS devices? I do not see where to enter IP addresses in the Open VPN setup. Also, how can I set it up so that I can choose different servers in the same way as I can currently choose them with my VPN app but for PPTP?

I have 4 Apple TV's. All set up to Home share. One will not see the computer. It is also the only 720 I have. The other three are 1080's. How do I get the 4th one (the720) to recognize my Mac?
Need more information to help you, but I am providing some suggestions. Sorry if you are past these type of basic things. But didnt really have much to start with and understand your technical level to start with.
Have you got into Settings > Computers > Turned on Home Sharing (Note: You must use the some Apple ID used by the iTunes library on your MAC for them to see one another)
How is your MAC connected to the network vs the 720 ATV2? Is one WiFi and the other Ethernet? Have you tried switching the ATV2 to WiFi if Ethernet?
Has the MAC been restarted since this started happening? Same with your Router and any other networking device being used? Sometimes an IP conflict can arise in your networking and most consumer networking equipment does not know how to "self heal" without a reboot.
Make sure you have given those things a whirl and share back your results. Any other information you can provide, such as how you connect to your network from each ATV and MAC. -

hi, i purchased a 2 dvd digital set. i cant just download it straight to my ipad. they said i have to down load it to my i tunes, then can transfer to i pad. im not seeing how to click the files from my email, and get them into the i tunes acct... ugh.
i do not have a mac home pc. just a regular pcI had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. The old app will remain on the ipad. Hope this helps, good luck

I have a selectonechoice dropdown list and a input field, i want when the second item of dropdown list selected then the showrequired attribute of the input field was set to false, if the first item selected then the showrequired set to true. I also want to see the 'star' sign which indicates the showrequired attribute visually can be seen show and disappeared.
I am using a autosubmit enalbed selecteonechoice and a partialtrigger (set the dropdown's id), but on page I didn't see any visual change : the 'star' sign is now showing or disappearing at all. Should it work? Or it's working but on page just not calling related CSS to show/hide the star sign? BTW I am using an el express for the showrequired attribute: showRequired="#{bindings.ReferenceValue1.inputValue eq 0? true: false}"
I also tried set the showrequired attribute in java method that listen to the dropdown list's onchange event, but still visually I am not seeing any change.

Photoshop not seeing export color space setting in Lightroom 4
MY LR or PS programs are not acting as expected.
When my Lightroom 4 is set to export to Photoshop in either the sRGB color space or the AdobeRGB color space, and Photoshop is set for the sRGB space, Photoshop gives a color mismatch error in both cases, saying the image is an AdobeRGB embedded image. However, if the color space in PS is set for AdobeRGB, even if the export setting in Lightroom is sRGB, there is no mismatch error.
Apparently, PS sees every image as embedded with AdobeRGB.
I have a Sony NEX6 camera. I have taken pictures in the camera sRGB color space and the AdobeRGB space, which I used for this test. Since I shoot in RAW, this should not matter, so I don’t think it is the issue, and, in fact, I get the same result no matter which color space the camera is in.
If LR export and PS color space are the same, why should there be a mismatch, and why is PS not seeing the sRGB space? Might there be a setting in Lightroom or Photoshop that I am missing?howdego wrote:

If you have a wide-gamut monitor you are better off using it in Adobe RGB mode with a monitor calibrator. But then the monitor will not look correct in non-color managed applications:

You can circumvent this issue by using your monitor in sRGB mode, but I'd still suggest you use a hardware monitor calibrator. Either way it is imortatnt that you have a proper monitor profile assigned in Windows or OS X Color Management. The monitor manufacturer provides these, but they don't always work well with LR for numerous reasons.
To insure the best image quality you should do all of your editing in PS using 16 bit TIFF with ProPhoto RGB profile format until you are ready to Export. For use with ProShow you can use TIFFs or JPEGs, but use sRGB color profile to avoid any color management issue. JPEGs are fine and a LR Quality higher than 80 (10 in PS) is a waste of disk space for slideshow images.
In short you've got a lot of "variables" between the uncalibrated monitor and out-of-the-box non-adjusted TV. The former requires a good hardware calibrator aad the latter a good "eye" to adjust it. -

I am trying to upgrade SW to iSO 5 on my iPad but do not see the software upgrade option under the setting/general tab. Please help.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
