Language specific - Attr value Import

Hi All,
I want to update particular language value of an attribute.
My source file:
Attr Name
Attr Text
New Text
and mapped the same to corresponding destinations, like Attr name(English[us]), Attr text(English[us]) and New Text(specific language)
chosen the match record option as 'Update(all mapped fields)
successfully imported, but the values are not replaced in the Data manager...
any suggestions...

Hi Alexander,
I had this issue before.
A workaround for that is:
- Go to Data Manager
- Export these columns into Excel file
- Copy your old source file into the new excel file
- Import the Excel in the Data manager
- Match on Attr Name and Attr Text in english
- Set update all matches

How do I surface language specific texts in Integrated ITS?

I'm new to both stand alone and integrated ITS and am researching the upgrade process. In our stand alone templates we used htrc files with our html templates to show language specific texts.
Example.
html template code for a field label

I see no hint that htrc's can be used in integrated and am not seeing anything in the way of resource based language texts in integrated. I think I've hit every document out there yet, I have a feeling I'm missing something obvious. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks so much for the detail!
I have run through the steps for manual creation of translations as well as SIAC_UPLOAD of htrc files and have it working and documented. I will add a few more findings here for others who find this post later.
Some of our old htrc files had duplicate keys (probably from original German version). In stand alone ITS the last key in the file was used so this didn't matter. In integrated ITS this matters for 2 reasons.
1 Uploading/Converting htrc files having logged in in English will cause failures if any of the text being entered in the service parameters has characters that arent consistent with the codepage being used for EN. (Ex. back Azureück). Clean up htrc files to use only the language they should contain.
2 Stand alone ITS was forgiving of htrc files containing duplicate keys. Integrated ITS is not. Remove all duplicate keys.
3. This one is obvious but... if parameters have already been entered in another language you may be prompted to confirm you are changing language and there are several prompts along the way. As these prompts will appear in the logon language itu2019s important to eitheru2026
a. Be fluent in all supported languages , oru2026
b. Memorize button and menu positions.
I do have one additional question.
Our old stand alone setup had an alternate corporate "APCI" design that we used...
File system view -
hostDEV_WWWmimesdesigns"apci"webgui as opposed to the out of box
hostDEV_WWWmimesdesignssap_streamlinewebgui I suppose.
I believe this was then referenced in the global services file ~DESIGN="APCI"
I'm starting research to understand if there is an analog to this in the integrated webgui service or precisely what I have to do to accomplish alternate styles for webgui and our Z_services.

Issue with language specific characters combined with AD-Logon to BO platform and client tools

We are using SSO via Win AD to logon to BO-Launchpad. Generally this is working which means for Launch Pad no manual log on is needed. But this is not working for users which have language specific letters in their AD name (e.g. öäüéèê...).
What we have tried up to now:
If the AD-User name is Test-BÖ the log on is working with the user name Test-BO with logon type AD
If the logon Type "SAP" is used than it is possible to use the name Test-BÖ as the username
Generally it is no problem in AD to use language specific letters (which means it is possible to e.g. log on to Windows with the user Test-BÖ)
It is possible to read out the AD attributes from BO side and add them to the user. Which means in the user attributes the AD name Test-BÖ is shown via automatic import from AD. So it's not the problem that the character does not reach BO.
I have opened a ticket concerning that. SAP 1th level support is telling me that this is not a BO problem. They say it is a problem of Tomcat. I don't believe that because the log on with authentification type SAP is working.
I have set up the same combination (AD User Test-BÖ with SAP User Test-BÖ) as a single sign on authentification in SAP BW and there it is working without problems.
Which leads me to the conlusion: It is not a problem of AD. It is something which is connected to the BO platform but only combined with logon type AD because SAP Logon is working with language specific characters.

I have found this article with BO support:
You cannot add a user name or an object name that only differs by a character with a diacritic mark
Basically this means AD stores the country specific letters as a base letter internally. Which means that if you have created a user with a country specific letter in the name you can also logon with the Base letter to Windows.
SAP-GUI and Windows are maybe replacing the country specific letters by the base letter. Due to that SSO is working. BO seems not to be able to do that. Up to now the supporter from BO is telling me that this is not a BO problem.
Seems to be magic that the colleagues of SAP-GUI are able to to it.

Application specific key-value pairs in jndi.properties

Can I specify my application specific key-value pair in jndi.properties?
I tried something like this
java.naming.factory.initial=.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
java.naming.provider.url=t3://localhost:7001
myVar=myVal
When i tried looking up "myVar" from my client program, I got an error.
The other parameters like weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory are picked up.
Anyhelp will be appreciated

We have a similar problem.
We would like to configure our PROVIDER_URL for a specific web application - not
for the entire server. Since the URL should be different in development, test
and production environments, we would prefer to just set it in the deployment
descriptor. And we have a lot of code that just uses
ctx = new InitialContext();
when looking up EJBs, queues etc.
Actually, to take the problem one step further, it should be expected that later
we will have EJB's deployed on different machines/clusters - so we will actually
need specific urls for each EJB.
Is there a good way to do this? Or will we have to custom-develop our own jndi
configuration standard using application parameters to set which JNDI provider
each EJB should be looked up with?
Alternativaely, can we "import" the JNDI trees of the app server in the JNDI tree
of the web servers?
So, how should we go about this?

jndi.properties is only used for creating the JNDI InitialContext. The
whole idea
of this file is that in remote client code (without the jndi.properties
file), you
need to do something like this to tell the JNDI classes how to connect
to the JNDI
provider:

the server.
The InitialContext constructor will look for this jndi.properties file
in your
classpath and load it to get the necessary configuration information
to determine
how to connect to the JNDI provider.

Accessibility - Language Specification

Using Adobe Life Cycle Designer how do you add a language specification for forms? It is important to specific a language for accessibility reasons. We know how to do that in Adobe 7 but not in designer. In the past we have has problems editing forms in Adobe that were created in Designer. Anyone know this answer?

Every form has a locale, set on the "form1" subform. You can change the form's locale by going to "File | Form Properties... | Defaults" and changing the "Default Form Locale" dropdown. (Note that this menu option is only available when you have a form open.)
Every object on the form will, by default, have the same locale as the form. If you want an object to have a different locale than that of the form, select the object on canvas, and go to the Object Inspector's Field palette. At the bottom of the palette (you may have to resize if to see this) there's a "Locale" dropdown. This sets the locale of the selected object.
If the selected object is a subform, then all the objects in that subform will inherit the locale of the subform (instead of the locale of the form).

int, not all strings.wrong. It all depends on the algorithm you use and
what meaning you wish to assign to the outcome...
Take a hashcode for example, you can create one from
a string and it is an integer value.I think he meant one can only parse strings containing "0-9" to int's.
That is not true of course, because you can parse strings with base > 10.

Color a row in JTable according to specific column value

I'm having problem setting row color according to specific values set in listData. Color values are also stored inside the listData. Each row has a specific color value assigned to it(either black or blue).
ColorRenderer is called from table.setDefaultRenderer(Object.class, new ColorRenderer(listData))
The color values are passed through to ColorRender constructor but not to the getTableCellRendererComponent() method.
Here is my code. Any help is much appreciated.

Well, first of all, you didn't use the code tokens for your posting. Second, this source won't even compile how you have it. But anyway...
If you want to change the color of the cell based on the row, assuming you have a matching color in your color list for each row, in your getTableCellRendererComponent() method, just do something like this.
c.setForeground( colors[row] );

How do I input a specific color value for a shape?

I've been trying to figure out why I cannot input a specific color that I want for a shape. I'm not just choosing a color that looks nice, I'm trying to match it to a solid color in the next clip. Ive tried to use the eye dropper to get the color from the next clip but I cannot copy anything outside of the color pallete provided. I know the value of the color (from 0-255 it's R:191, G:211, B:217) but all FCPX has is 0 - 1, which is some other kind of color value system I've never seen before. Does anyone know how I can put that specific color value into the shape generator?

You will be returned anything that is in the option's value parameter. What is displayed in the dropdown and what is put in the value attribute do NOT need to be the same, so maybe you should start there.

508- Document Properties - Disabled ..."All of the text on this page lacks a language specification"

Hi,
When i try to do 508 check. I got the following error message
"All of the text on this page lacks a language specification'
I checked "FILE=>Document Properties". All "Document Properties" are disabled.
We are using Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 to create this dynamic for and save it as static PDF file.
Still, we have same issue. I am not sure, how to change or setup the language in adobe livecycle designer es2.

Ah, I don't know that. "Tables" is a collection, not a simple array, and some careless experimentation shows that you cannot simply use .concat to paste them together.
I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of workarounds for a situation like this. Perhaps it's time to read "[CS3][JS] everyItem() and getElements()" -- i.e. Marc Autret's blog posts about this, at the end of that thread.
That is, if you stick to using everyItem()! Perhaps it's easier to build an array "the old fashioned way". This code is based on my earlier assumption you had textframes-in-textframes, but you can rewrite it to cater for groups as well:

Problem with language specific letters in Translation Builder editor

Hello,
I'm trying to translate some reports from Slovenian to Croatian using OTB, but as soon as I scroll up or down through translation form some Croatian language specific letters (čćžšđ) either convert to c (čć) or d (đ) or become "unreadable" (šž). The latest (šž) are displayed correctly on the report when strings are exported back to RDF file.
According Troubleshooting section in OTB help I tried to change both base and translation font but with no success.
Any experience, any hint or trick?

Language specific template is not working

Hi all,
I have converted AR invoice report to xml. which has a standard template and language specifis tempalte.
while running in development instance i use to select the language specific template using the options button in SRS. it works fine.
but same thing when i try to do ti in QAT, it is not working it is picking the language specific template. even though when i manually select the language specific template while submitting but the standard template is assigned.
Please help me to solve this isssue.

Thanks Rajesh for posting the solution you found. I ran into the same problem then went into the concurrent program definition for the invoice and removed the MLS Function and now when I choose a different language template it works.

Are there any specific codecs or import libraries that will make Premiere 6 use more file types?

Are there any specific codecs or import libraries that will allow Premiere 6 to import more file types? I'm using Premiere 6 on Windows 7.
It seems that the only kind of file that can be imported in to this version of Premiere are certain types of AVI files... even some types of AVIs will import but then will not appear when placed in the timeline... no MPGs, MP4s, WMVs, or anything else will import at all.
Virtually every file that I need to bring in to Premiere 6 has to be converted to AVI with the H.264 codec first.
Any help would be helpful.

My inquiry isn't as much to do with the AVIs that won't import as it is to do with figuring out the way that I can make MPGs, MP4s, MOVs and WMVs import in to Premiere 6.
The AVIs that do import were converted or created using the H.264 codec. I do know a little about codecs, but I don't hold the PhD in codecs that is apparently required to completely understand them.

So, if I understand correctly, Bill is saying the Premeire Elements 4 is actually newer than Premiere 6 and that the Pr Elements apps will actually import more movie file formats than the regular versions of Premiere and Premiere Pro?... for someone trying to learn about these apps, one must admit that this seems to be reverse logic... this would be saying that Adobe gave the cheaper "consumer" versions of Premiere the ability to work with 3 or 4 more movie file formats than the more expensive "pro-sumer" version of Premiere.

The built-in web browser instruction manual in Premiere 6 shows this statement on the "Importing Clips" page, as shown in my screenshot linked above...
"File format support is provided by plug-in software modules. Over time, additional or updated file formats may be available from Adobe or other manufacturers, such as QuickTime."
This indicates that additional file format support can be added to Premiere 6 by "plug-in software modules", and that "over time, additional or updated file formats" were predicted to become available that would be supported by the file format manufacturers, such as Adobe themselves and other manufacturers such as QuickTime.
Since that was written ten years ago or more, there has certainly been the chance for these additional "plug-in software modules" to be developed "over time"... so I'm asking, "Where are they available?"
What I'm saying is, I will do my homework to earn at least my Bachelor's degree in codecs, but more than an education in codecs, I need to find these mysterious, "plug-in software modules" for Premiere 6 that Adobe wrote about and referred to over ten years ago.
Thanks for any clues as to where to locate these "plug-in software modules".
