  • Last date of the selected quarter

hi all - I have been struggling to figure out how to get the last date of selected quarter. for example, if the user has selected 2014 Q1 from the date hierarchy, I want to show 2014-03-31.
any idea how to accomplish this? thanks in advance

    Hi Sam,
There are several ways to do this in MDX.
One way is to use LastChild a few times.  For example, if your hierarchy had Period, Week, and Day below Quarter, and you were sure the user had selected a Quarter (the MDX could check) try this assuming your date hierarchy is calle [Date].[Fiscal
    Calendar].    [Date].[Fiscal Calendar].lastchild.lastchild.lastchild
The first lastchild will get the last Period in the Quarter, the second lastchild the last week in that Period and the third lastchild will get the last day of that week.
Another way, which will work for any level they selected would be something like; assuming the Day level is called [TheDate].   Tail(Descendants([Date].[Fiscal Calendar],[Date].[Fiscal Calendar].[TheDate]),1).item(0)  The descendants
gets all the days in the selected period, the tail gets a set including just the last day, and Item(0) gets that particular day.
Of course, the MDX snippets above could be used in larger MDX expressions.
Hope that helps.  It really is worthwhile to learn a little MDX.  Remember, anything is possible in MDX if the cube has the data.

v_enddate := last_day(to_date(p_end, 'YYYY/MM'));I'm not sure what you mean by "declare".
In PL/SQL, "declare" means state (at the beginning of a block) that there will be a certain variable with a certain name (such as v_startdate) and datatype (such as DATE). You're already declaring the variables v_startdate and v_enddate correctly, right before the BEGIN statement.
Declaring a variable is not the same as initializing it, that is, giving it a value for the first time. Your next question seems to be about initializing..
    2. where exactly shud i include the logic that u have mentioned. sorry a dumb questionIn place of the two assignment statments that reference p_start and p_end.
    3. This time am gonna use frequency instead of report_type so that i will get rid of the p_start and p_end from the procedure.Do you mean you want to pass an argument (called frequency) that tells if you want a quarterly or a mionthly report, just like the variable report_type in my example?
If so, replace report_type in my example with frequency.
I think you want something like this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE hcsc_recovery_report_h
    (      report_record         in out     cr_return_types.gen_cursor

  • Is there a way to show the end dates of the previous month stand out?

is there a way to show the end dates of the previous month in bold or make it stand out? so 30,31 and 1st of this month don't all look the same? For example the 30,31st get a regular text since they are a part of the the last month and this month gets bold dates? Its hard to read the dates anyways.

    Hi all,
    here's the shortest solution:
    REPORT z123.
    PARAMETERS p_datum LIKE sy-datum DEFAULT sy-datum.
    DATA ultimo  LIKE sy-datum.
    <b>ultimo = p_datum - p_datum+6(2).</b>
    WRITE: / p_datum, 20 ultimo COLOR 2.
    it's not my solution :

  • How do I prevent Pages from pushing paragraphs to next page when they would otherwise begin on the last line of the previous page?

I am writing papers for school which have strict page limits so I can't afford to be losing lines at the bottom of a page because Pages thinks it looks better to have a new paragraph start on the next page. It does this automatically and I have to go back and manually format to get the first line of the paragraph to start on the last line of the previous page. This then creates problems down the line when I am editing so I would really like to be able to turn the feature off.
    e.g. with Pages auto-formatting
    -----page 1-----
         Paragraph #1 blah blah
    blah blah blah
         Paragraph #2 blah blah
    blah blah blah
    -----page 2-----
         Paragraph #3 blah blah
    blah blah
    e.g. after manual formatting
    -----page 1-----
         Paragraph #1 blah blah
    blah blah blah
         Paragraph #2 blah blah
    blah blah blah
         Paragraph #3 blah blah
    -----page 2-----

  • Terms of Payment to determine due date as last date of the month

    Hi Experts,
Does any one know how to configure a Terms of Payment to determine due date as last date of the month ?
I tried by puting fixed date as 31 in the Terms of Payment in FI but when I am creating in FI-CA it gives me an error "_Term of payment Z003 is inconsistent/not planned_"
    Please advice.
    Thanks & Regards
    Satyajeet

    Hi Satyajeet,
It seems the settings that you have maintained in FI are correct.
When you are assigning the payment terms in FI-CA, you need to assign a factory calendar as well to the payment terms in the following config-
IMG->Financial Accounting ->Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable->Postings and Documents->Document->Maintain Payment Terms
If you have already assigned the factory calendar and still the problem persists, can you give the message ID and the message number of the error that you are getting?
    Thanks,

  • Want last date of the month as default basic finish date for the Proc order

For forward scheduling type in process order, irrespective of the start date i want last date of the month as my  basic finish date.
Ex start date can be 01/10/2009 or 15/10/2009, but the basic finish date should be 31/10/2009.

    Hi Sam,
sorry to say , its not possible in standard SAP.
    1) If, on order creation, a planned order exists for the production order/ process order, the basic dates are copied from the planned order.
2)If no planned order exists on order creation, you must specify at least one basic date.
The scheduling type determines the basic dates that you must specify. and it useses timings from routings for scheduling.
so may be you need some work around.
explain your requirement why do you want to fix it for the last day of month and other constraints, may be we can find some way.

    for example
If user select month of Jan it should display Jan 31st, 2009
If user select month of Feb it should display Feb 28th 2009
    Thanks

Unless you name your Months like that you cannot do it. A large team from a major consulting firm told me for a year that it was not possible and convinced management that financial statements don't need dates.
Management decided that we do need dates (because all financials need dates, look at any text book). I figured out a pretty sweet solution that is simple and easy to use and maintain. The users love it. Management loves it.
I'm not giving it away though.

  • Emacs is displaying the first column of the line on the last column of the previous line

The first column of my lines are being displayed on the last column of the previous line. This a very irritating glitch that I have no clue how to fix or even troubleshoot. (red bars were added using preview to hide personal info)
I've downloaded MacPorts and reinstalled emacs:
    GNU Emacs 24.4.1

GNU Emacs comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.

I'm open to any suggestions on how to fix this graphical glitch.
    Much thanks

Given that the Emacs for OS X works ok and the Emacs shipped with OS X works it would seem to be some issue with MacPorts and their version.
Totally unfamiliar with MacPorts so have no idea how the program gets compiled, what libraries it is using and what if any config settings are needs or set so I'm afraid I won;t be much help there.  That you are on a MBP with a retina display may be part of the problem.
So with the setup you have now, hardware and software including OS,  it was working and then just like that it stopped? Something much have changed around the time it stop working if you can think back to then it might help you resolve the problem.
As you are doing programming can i assume you have Xcode and the command line tools installed? If not how do you compile your code? The reason I ask is compiling Emacs from there GNU source is not all that difficult. It might be worth trying that.
One last thing given that the two other versions of Emacs displayed the file OK this strongly suggests the problem is not in your .emacs file or your environment however as I wrote I am not familiar with MacPorts so it is possible there is another config file messing you up. As a test for this create a new user or log in as the Guest user (this is best as you;re guaranteed the environment is clean) and look at the file in question in MacPorts Emacs. If it displays OK then there is something in your environment causing this, If it messes up  even in the new user then I'd say ditch MacPorts..
    regards

Just to rule out init files  if you start emacs with the -q(minus que) flag the .emacs file is not read in, if you use  --no-site-file it will not load the site file if it exists.
I'd try running the MacPorts emacs with those two flags to see f anything changes.
