Last night i tried to update my iphone to the new version and now i believe i lost all my old files...please help me?
Can someone please help me understand how I can get back my missing files on my iphone after the update?
If no backups were made then your stuffed. Harsh reality unfortuantly and a perfect example of why you should BACKUP before any update/ restore. It takes 30seconds!

Reboot it

The title says it all. My phone simply will not respond to anything!!
did you let the update finish? You'll know when you see IOS 6 on the screen. If it did you can try a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Is there a "New" button at the top right of the Playlists section of Music?
There is no Edit button to delete music, swipe sideways on the song to reveal the delete button. Tap and hold on the artwork in Artists and albums to reveal the (X) button to delete. Or connect the iPad back up to iTunes on the computer and check your sync settings for music to ensure you are syncing the right content. -

Check to make sure that you are running at least 10.6.8 on your Mac, go to the drop down menu > About this Mac. If you are not then you will need to purchase the update.
