itunes has been splitting up most new cds that my daughter and I import. We want the albums to stay whole not split into 2 or 3 different sections. This is a relatively new problem. Didn't always have this problem. How do we make it stop?

Or it could be an issue with the SC Info folder. See TS1277 - iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization for details.
Or a repair install of iTunes from the Programs and Features control panel might fix the problem.

I am experiencing Mavericks failing to copy subdirectories from usb sticks, I am backing up game saves from a console. Both sticks I use are fine, same permissions of course since the console wrote the files. Sometimes it copies, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be related to the mounting process.

HT4623 After I updated my iPad using my computer, it has started to lag a lot and run very slowly. Why is it doing this and is there any way to make it stop lagging?

I updated my iPad mini last night using my laptop (I usually update it on the iPad itself) and after the update, the iPad has been slow and laggy ever since. When I try to type something, it freezes up and may not actually show that i typed it for another minute or two. Even if I close all my apps and restart it, the problem is still there. My iPhone 5s has been deleting my calendar. First time, just the calendar, then next time the calendar and contacts, then yesterday, calendar, contacts, notes and reminders. The phone is only 6 months old or so and is on iOS 7.1.2 (although I need to update it- but have to do some storage management first...)
I have looked at my calendar in my icloud account and it is a week or so out of date, even though it supposedly backed up from my phone on Friday. I am becoming very frustrated by this. Am I doing something wrong? Advice would be much appreciated. In the past I have deleted my icloud account from my phone and then re-signed in, as well as sharing my calendar with myself to restore it, and it works eventually.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
There are reasons related to settings why it may not be able to connect to the network time server, however if your Apple TV has previously connected using the same settings these won't apply.
If your Apple TV has previously connected OK, you might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds, or even a factory restore.

How do I stop firefox from attaching to and using resouces from my external hard drives. Why is it doing this. I don't like it.

I cannot disconnect from external hard drives because firefox is using the drive. I really don't like this. Aside from being intrusive and inconvenient it seems spywarish or just plain data mining.

I just realized that I wrote that I installed from app store originally, but I must correct that statement. I never paid for the app so it must have come preinstalled on my 2011 iMac. I was confused since the update is through the store so I assumed I downloaded it. Sorry for any miscommunication.
So to be clear, even though I have never remotely administered / accessed my computer and I no longer have ARD on my computer, it is normal to have the client update appear in my App Store. Is that correct?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
