Launch Adobe Connect from Application

I have a custom C#/WPF application that allows a user to interact with a remote traveler.  The application will do the following things:
Launch Adobe Connect
Login to  an Adobe Connect account
Send the remote traveler a link to that  Adobe Connect session
Interact with the remote user with video/audio via Adobe Connect.
  For steps 1&2 I show an embedded html window with the link to login to the account.  This works fine.  After the login succeeds, Adobe Connect takes over the entire screen, which then hides my custom application.
  Is there a way to do this type of launch without Adobe Connect taking over the screen?  I would like to keep it in a browser window of my choosing so I can organize my user's screen.
  Or - is there a better way to launch Adobe Connect from a custom application?
Thanks

  • How uninstall Adobe Connect from Mac OS X?

    Hi!
    I need to uninstall Adobe Connect from my computer with Mac OS X. I've found this instruction: http://blog.kevingoldsmith.com/2011/09/30/having-problems-with-the-adobe-connect-add-in-on -os-x-here-is-how-to-uninstall-it/
    Unfortunatley it doesn't work. In my ~/Library/Preferences there is no Macromedia, no Flash Player and no www.macromedia.com/bin/connectaddin.
    Can anyone please help me get rid of this add-in?
    Thank you in advance!
    Best regards, Amy

    On my 10.7.5 machine, it is located Users/<profile name>/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/adobeconnectaddin/adobeconnectaddin.app
    Please make sure all your browser windows are closed. You may also have to enable the hidden files.
    I hope this helps,

  • Launching Adobe Viewer from a Swing application

    How do I launch Adobe Viewer (or Reader) from my Swing application. I have a help menu item that needs to open the viewer with the PDF help manual. Since the application is cross-platform, do I need different versions of Adobe with my install package? Thanks for any help.

    Thanks. I tried the adobe bean and it seems to work fine until I select the "Print" icon. It crashes the Viewer and my application as well. I get the following:

  • BC4J: How get Connection from Application Module

    I've written a custom method for my Application Module for using by the client tier. In this method I call a JPUblisher created class, that accesses a PL/SQL procedure. For this JPublisher created class I need a connection context. The class calls DefaultContext.getDefaultContext() but that seems to be null.
    How can I get the current Connection of the Application Module, so that I can create a DefaultContext?
    Unfortunately Transaction has no getConnection method.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    We don't make the Connection directly available because in some sense it's a rope on which you can hang yourself if you are not careful. Since BC4J AppModules are most often used from a pool, and you might be using connection pooling in addition to application module pooling, in general it is not safe to get hold of the raw JDBC connection and "hang onto it".
    If you make careful use to always get the current JDBC connection before you use it, and not try to cache it, then you should be ok. Often, you can avoid the need to get the raw JDBC connection by calling getDBTransaction().createPreparedStatement(...) or the analogous createCallableStatement() or createStatement() that are also on the DBTransaction interface.
    Here is a little function you can add to your application module impl class to retrieve the Connection:
      private Connection getCurrentConnection() {
        Statement st = null;
        try {
          st = getDBTransaction().createStatement(0);
          return st.getConnection();
        catch (SQLException s) {
          s.printStackTrace();
          return null;
        finally {
          if (st != null) try { st.close(); } catch (SQLException s2) {}
      }It basically creates a (dummy) statement, gets the current connection from the statement, then closes the statement.
    I tried using this in a custom method in an AppModuleImpl class that invoked a JPublisher-create package-wrapper class like this:
      public void callStoredProc() {
        try {
          // Empservice is package wrapper class created by JPublisher
          Empservice e = new Empservice(getCurrentConnection());
          BigDecimal sal = e.lookupsalary(new BigDecimal(7369));
          System.out.println(sal);
        catch (SQLException s) {
          s.printStackTrace();
      }and it works for me.

  • Uplaod Adobe form from application server

    I've a requirement where the Adobe interactive from files will be located in the application server directory and need to be uploaded from there.
    I'm using "open data set... in binary mode"  comment to open the file and then read it and store in the lt_rawtab table. But I'm not sure how to get the length of the file (which you can get when you're uploading the file from front end/local disk using the method cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_upload).
    If you have address this kind scenario please share how did you upload the Adobe from application server?

    Hi Anto,
    In fact my problem was due to l_len parameter when calling the function 'SCMS_BINARY_TO_XSTRING' to convert bin pdf document to Xstring type.
    I was not sure what value should I pass to input_length parameter.
    Then, I saw in some post that the length should be no of lines in lt_rawtab * 255 and that resolved my issue.
    I'm having another issue though. When I open the Adobe form, it says "message limit exceeded"... any idea how to fix this?

  • Adobe Connect - From Email and Aliases

    Hi,
    Recently my email reminders being sent from Adobe Connect have been from the email "Adobe Connect" [[email protected]]
    This is despite using the default setting where the event creator email address is normally used, as well as setting up a new alias with the required 'From' email details and selecting this as the name / email address that the email should come from. This is continuously over-ridden by the "Adobe Connect" email address in the From field.
    When the user clicks reply to any of these emails, the correct user email address is used in the reply so this only seems to be an issue with regards the From email address.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • Any new ideas for launching web browser from application

    I have searched the forums trying to find a new way of launching a web browser from a java application. The problem I am having is that on Unix and Linux systems, at least the variety I have access to (not quite sure on what that variety those are as they are not my systems or systems I control), the common method of using Runtime.getRuntime().exec(STRING) with either netscape or mozilla does not work. While using the Runtime.exec method is not the same as a console, I did try on these systems "netscape + A_WEB_ADDRESS" (or mozilla) and it did launch the respective browser with the page, so it appears that at least from the console level, those commands are valid.
    All the forums seem to say that the Runtime.exec method is the way to go. All the source code I have found through links from the forum say the same thing. I have voted on this bug:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4210168.html
    and the feedback there does seem to indicate that there is similar trouble out there. Below is the code I am using. It does work on Win2000,XP, and Mac OSX. The application is not supported on earlier systems, and as it stands it will not work on Win 95,98, nor ME. Only small modification should be needed for work on those OSs, but as I no longer personally use those OSs, I cannot be sure.
    private void openNativeBrowser(String url) {
    // not the browser itself is started, i only call something like
    // start http://www.javasoft.com
    // and then the standardbrowser will be started ...
    StringBuffer call = new StringBuffer();
    System.err.println(System.getProperty("os.name"));
    System.err.println(System.getProperty("user.dir"));
    try {
    // which OS ?
    String operatingSystem = System.getProperty("os.name");
    // how to call the OS
    if (operatingSystem.toLowerCase().indexOf("windows") > -1)
    call.append("cmd /c start ").append(url);
    else
    if (operatingSystem.toLowerCase().indexOf("mac") > -1)
    call.append("open ").append(url + " &");
    else if(operatingSystem.toLowerCase().indexOf("linux") > -1)
    // use Script 'netscape'
    call.append("mozilla ").append(url).append(" &");
    else
    call.append("netscape ").append(url).append(" &");
    System.err.println(call.toString());
    // start it ...
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(call.toString());
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    e.printStackTrace();
    As I said, if you have a new way to call the broswer that seems to work on either Unix or Linux, please post it, point to it, or explain it.
    Aaron

    there is a shell script on Linux called htmlview that you can launch like this:
    String[] cmd = {"htmlview", "http://java.sun.com"};
    try {
        Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
    } catch (IOException ioe) {
        // do something
    }which will open the default browser. Don't think this is available on other *NIX though, although the script itself would probably work so you could include it with your app (/usr/bin/htmlview).

  • Launching Adobe Reader from ROM or Memory Stick

    Hi together,
    I’m looking for a way to run adobe acrobat reader directly from an ROM or maybe memory stick, without the need of installing of running setup before.
    I’ve found some solutions for adobe 4,5 and 7 but is there a way for doing such, with an adobe reader 9.x ?
    Thanks for your help.

    >without the need of installing of running setup
    As far as I know, something like that is only possible IF the program does not need to insert entries in the Registry file... which is done by running the setup program so those entries may be entered into the Registry
    If the program NEEDS those Registry entries to be able to run... you can't just click on the program itself and have it work

  • Launch Adobe offline form from Mobile device

    Hi,
    Our use case : We are trying to launch adobe form from Mobile device.
    Idea : The form template is locally stored on the mobile device. The mobile application tries to launch this adobe form and populate some of the fields and then send this data to SAP.
    What is the best way to achieve this ? Is it possible to launch the adobe form and then populate the fields?
    What is the best way to transmit the data, as GPRS is the mode of communication.
    any thoughts would really help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Saujanya,
    Are you using SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1?

  • Adobe Connect user dropping from Meeting after ~30sec

    We have a lot of users using Adobe Connect from multiplae sites around the country. One particular site (and one site only) is having difficulty staying connected to a meeting. They are able to successfully log into the meeting and can see the meeting room. After ~30 seconds each time they are booted from the room. Is this a common problem that anyone has seen? The only other problem we have come accross is users getting stuck at the loading screen and the meeting never launching but thet had to do with not allowing the FMS ip address through firewalls.
    Had anyone else experienced users being disconnected after ~30 seconds. It happens every time they try to connect. Apparently it goes to a "Connection lost, waiting to connect" screen. I know they are not physically losing connection as other services stay online. Some idea we had were packet inspection or time to live settings. Any ideas?

    It sounds to me like there is some other issue with their connectivity. It could be an IT policy that monitors for streaming traffic and intrupts it (to keep people from watching movies or such), or it could even be a saturation of their network, and Connect doesn't have priority so it gets dropped. From your description it definitly sounds like there is something happening at that location that is preventing individuals from attending the meetings.

  • Adobe Connect Desktop App

    Hi,
    This is probably a simple fix for someone in Adobe. I'm trying to download the latest Adobe Connect Desktop Application for Windows.
    The download link keeps going to connectusers.com which is down for reasons known.
    Is there another link to download from?
    Thanks

    Just sharing a quick search tip to help in the future.
    I just ran this search query https://www.google.com/search?q=adobe+connect+desktop and the description of the second search result is "Adobe Connect Desktop. This AIR-based application helps meeting hosts quickly manage and edit their meetings from their desktop. Hosts can also access ..."
    In case you get stuck while searching, you can always use the search keyword 'site' (read here) to narrow down your search to adobe.com like this.

  • Can't launch Adobe Reader 11.0.06: 'An internal error occurred'

    Today I purchased a highly recommended e-book ('Rally All Around') which is available by download. Double clicking on its file brought up a message that I needed a newer version of Adobe Reader, and linked me directly to 11.0.06 (Mac) on the Adobe site, which I downloaded and installed. Unfortunately, this application refuses to launch: irrespective of whether I try to launch it directly, from the Applications Folder, or by double clicking the new book, I receive the 'An internal error occurred' error message and the program shuts down. I have followed the advice provided in this forum for a previous version of Reader: I deleted all existing versions of the program, as well as the Adobe Folder in my Library, then attempted to reinstall. I've also used 'Get Info' to ensure I have the required read/write permissions on the application, and the Adobe Library Folder. Unfortunately now I have lost the ability to open any PDF file at all!  I'm very unimpressed (to say the least!) that I have lost hours trying to troubleshoot this problem, as well as my money for the book and functionality on my machine! I am running Mac OS X 10.9.1 on an Intel Core i5. I'd be grateful for help, and advice, if you care to share. I'd like to count to 10 and try and fix this, before succumbing to the temptation to send a howler to the publisher.

    I did eventually solve it, and I think it was using this advice I received on the Adobe Forums:
    The error that you are facing might be due the reason that the user logged in doesn't have permissions to access the following directory: "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe". Can you please try the following steps with the user account in which you are facing the error:
    1. Remove the Adobe Reader from Applications directory by moving it to Trash.
    2. Now delete the following directory: "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe". Please note that this path is for the Library folder present inside the user directory that you are currently logged in.
    3. Restart the machine.
    4. Now re-install Adobe Reader XI.
